Went raw vegan to heal an autoimmune disease and it was probably the worst thing I ever did. I got down to about 75 pounds at 5'4, lost my period for about a year, and had unexplainable pain in my bones it feels like my tendons were being ripped apart probably due to me having no fat and muscles to hold me up. The crazy thing is, I felt rather good most of the time like euphoria because our bodies produce hormones when we are starving that give you lots of energy. I felt so energetic and productive some days and some days very tired(detox right???). It did help with my autoimmune condition though since my body is in a fasted state but you can't fast forever. But at the time I was like "It's working, my body is healing!" I was so out of tune with the deterioration taking place and how unhealthy I looked. The scary thing? I was slowly starving myself to death and I felt amazing. The only reason I stopped is because of my cravings. I remember some days my cravings were so intense I would think about food all day, scroll food pics on instagram, look up restaurants around me and just fantasize. I would end up binging some days and just feeling like a failure. These raw foodists had me convinced that I had a cooked food addiction lol. Thinking back at it now its funny and I can laugh but I really went through a year of hell and just plain torture. Even towards the end when I was done binging I was still so delusional and wanted to continue my fruit diet and juicing and I felt so much guilt thinking I was a bad person for eating cooked food and meat. I had to call out to God and ask him what's the right thing to do because I just couldn't see the truth at the time. I watched this because I was curious on your view point. As I have learned more throughout my personal journey with food and not eating animals I have found that you can thrive on a plant based diet when including a large amount of variety and foods such as quinoa, buckwheat, avocado, sweet potato, ect and getting in sufficient amounts of minerals from multiple sources! I believe fruits and vegetables are essential sources of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. But this is along with many other whole foods. Cooked and not cooked. Respect to you and your perspective and experience with food specifically plant foods. Though I do believe eating animals is not a magical “fix all”. There is a lot more under the surface which is evident from the videos you shared here on this video.
I didn't even bother to watch the whole video beyond the first 30 or so seconds. It was a huge "red flag" that this person was bashing veganism because she ran into issues, then mentioned eating disorders and orthorexia.🤷♀️🤦♀️ The problem isn't the diet, it's *them* . Nobody told them to starve themselves, or even to be raw vegan. People go to extremes and then blame a vegan diet. Worse, they confuse the diet with *veganism* , which is an ethical stance, *not a diet* . I'm an ethical vegan over 7 years and I've never had a problem keeping weight on or had my hair falling out or any of the other symptoms of malnutrition that ex-vegans complain about. Maybe try not to be just raw vegan and eat some cooked food, too? Maybe add more fat to your diet? Maybe add more (or less) carbs? Maybe don't neglect supplementing with B12? Maybe stop starving yourself and eat enough? Maybe go to a plant-based nutritionist and get yourself sorted if you run into problems? These people never do any of that, and then they have the nerve to bash not only a vegan diet, but by association, the lifestyle, itself.🤷♀️ That just shows their insecurities. They'd rather blame veganism for their downfall (and as a way to justify eating animals and their byproducts) than to admit that their dysfunctional behavior with food created their problems. I was low carb for a few years before becoming vegan, and not once do I ever bash low carb. It just wasn't sustainable for me and raised my cholesterol too high. If other people thrive with it, fine.. but I don't go around bashing it, even as a vegan. Find what works for you and your body.. but if you take any eating "style" to an extreme, you're going to run into problems. That's what happened here, but they'll never admit it.🙄❤️
OMG here we go with those comments, I really hope you will get mainly positive comments, but I already see few attacking you, I am already sorry!!!! 😢 There are people who will support people being healthy instead of being sick just for the sake of smth. There is a reason we are also living on this planet. We need to think what to eat and be as conscious as possible and environment friendly, but not of the expense of someone’s health. I could never be vegan not only because of choice, but because of my health. I need to be healthy not only for me, but for my child. So whatever those nasty comments say, there are people who will support you.
I loved this video but If you were eating a ton of food as a vegan how were you so thin? Seems like vegan isn’t to blame for a loss of periods but more under eating and stress ….there are vegan coaches who specialize In getting people their period back just by eating more at first and balancing hormones with the right mix of fats and carbs I could definitely relate to this video and I appreciate it But I just think there’s got to be a way to be ok without animals …but maybe I’m wrong and that’s why I’m stuck
@annelewis7435 11:00 or so she talks about the difference between “volume” and “nutrition”…if you’re eating a lot of food, stuffing yourself at every meal, and stilll losing weight and your period? That’s a big red flag that that way of eating is not for you, because it’s not supplying your body with the right nutrients. So vegan eating isn’t for her, even if it works great for others.
Yes. I say this with love. But your comment is the long version of 'you did it wrong ' It shoukd not take every single ounce of energy to not feel like you are dying. But with veganism, for most of us, there is never enough you can do. Then when you add high quality meat, bone broths, whole foods.. you feel amazing. I'll say now that I eat meat I don't even haveto try very hard and I've resolved almost all my symptoms. Also when so many people are failing at this... at a certain you might want ask yourself truly abd deeply... why that is.
Not at all posting one of those "you did it wrong". I have the most respect for Chloe and I have worked with her a lot on my issues....I'm just having the opposite experience. I am eating plant based foods and gain weight where as when I eat animal products I loose weight. but also, for me it's always just been a calories in calories out thing. so when I eat more the body gains and when I eat less it looses. No matter what the food is. I was meaning ZERO disrespect and I am not a MUST BE VEGAN person at all
Everything you describe is what’s happening to me eating primarily meat . I’m literally wasting away . Became sensitive to everything. So now I’m experimenting adding fruit and keeping close track . I’ve tried everything my body can’t handle the heavy fats all day everyday day in and day out . Now I developed an itch . It never goes away .
So my digestion was amazing on all raw high fruit but I'm getting all of thw other symptoms but having trouble adding animal products and all other fpods back in. It's been 4 years high raw vegan. Do you have any tips ? Thank you!
I know this was 6 months ago, and I truly hope you're doing better now! But if you're still struggling, start with bone broth! Preferably homemade and boiled until all of the joints have completely broken down. When the broth is cold it should be thick like jello. That should be easy to digest AND it's incredibly nutritious
Its the rigidity that can cause the problem. And be the biggest issue. Wrong ‘perfection’…. I don’t eat much. But I eat enough to do what I want to do. if Rob, broccoli, excites you, it might be something in there that you really like. You don’t have to eat it but if you really like it, it’s a healthy vegetable. Why not. Monotony is never good. It depletes on one and what it gives the overload of the other god bless you girl I wish you will eat what you love love what you eat and stay healthy - and over the years as you age of the woman menopause comes in the way and then it changes again it’s life and maybe that’s what we need to be taught the most about.
One day i didnt have the energy to climb stairs at the age of 23 and something in me was like - I am 23 this is not it… fighting with the “ vegan voice” and just writing everything down on my mental issues, I just had enough, my body ,I think ,and I randomly had salmon that day and never looked back. My mental health, my appearance and my cognitive abilities came back, but it was a long process, it has been only 3 years back on omni . And yes my mental issues were always present in my life but got way worse on veganism, having adhd I basically became a vegetable with no character or opinion. So grateful that my body pushed me to eat fish. It has been the best 3 years of my life after that prison 😂. I was vegetarian since the age of 16, then had severe anorexia and was vegan from the age of 19 till 23. For some time I still thought that vegetarianism was not that bad, but nope, since eating fish , poultry and beef, its just completely night and day.
In the beginning, when I went raw to actually start my body feel like stop this. Also for a while until it reached its limit of letting go and changed inside and rebuild up muscles and textures yet in a different way navigate naturally the way back. It adjusted to it and changed and believe it or not. My period came fully back as soon as I had a boyfriend again. And luckily when I was 41 I had my first child in my life and the doctor said I have the blood values of a 10 year younger woman so probably I was the right thing to do.
Chlo lost her Flo, but she came to her senses and healed herself, got her Flo and her health, and her joy of living back. Good job girl! Have an extra steak for my sake 😋
I've been on vegan diet for almost 5 years. In the last year I had symptoms as bloating, digestive issues, constipation and I've been sick 2 weeks ago and the last week, after make a deep research avout veganism, I decided to stop my vegan diet and start to eat animal products. Never regret the choice that I've made. I felt like reborn again. My mood is improve, my energy are high and don't feel always tired. I was eating a lot of food (not processed vegan food just fruits, grains, nuts, seeds and vegetables) and always felt hungry and never satisfied. It's not very healthy to go vegan on long term guys think twice before do it and make your own research. Personally for me it was not an ethical decision, I thought only that it was the better way to eat that somebody can do and not making a lot research about it I started my journey and I'm glad I stopped
I have a friend she can eat litterally anything and he totally fit and healthy and her age 40. It’s amazing what you all eat she just has the super high metabolism that burns everything super quickly she can handle it she’s happy and that’s the most important part.
Its not for everybody. If your not connected with your own intuition you follow others. Everybody is different and has different needs. Glad you healed yourself. For example I have been mostly raw with little here and there’s changes for over 25 years. I almost passed away when I was 28 from the wrong food, allergies and extreme, eczema and asthma. And it changed my life totally for the better The only thing I didn’t know because there was not so much knowledge online about it was that I would need B12, and since I’m older, much older, I know this though. I believe everybody should eat drink, and do what makes them happy and healthy. But if this was actually your way to full recovery, I’m so happy for you. Enjoy your food no matter what. It is as long as you’re healthy and it makes you happy. And no matter what other people say God bless and keep you safe. I think the Internet is the biggest biggest challenge in your generation now. I wish all of you young people very very well. Don’t get influenced get inspired. Try only see if it’s for you. Because at the end it’s one person’s opinion it’s one picture that you say you don’t see all the rest of everybody. And everybody is different. Once you accept that that every person is unique in their own, setting up being a little setting of jeans and they’re on setting up existing in their own body, you are free. Send much love.
Now following you on Instagram! Thank you so much 🙏✨ I've been vegan for more than 10 years and I'm finally realizing that my health issues are related to that. Finally reintroducing meat, eggs, fish and dairy. I hope that's going to help. ✨🌱
The only issue with the pro (insert diet here) content, is the anti (insert diet here) baggage that tends to come along for the ride. What we experience, some others may experience differently. Also, there are stages to each person's experience. Vibrational changes can be intense. Good video, thank you for the information.
Really ? So how have the populations of India been able to survive for thousands of years without meat in their daily diet ? Hindus, Buddhists and Jains are either naturally Vegetarian or Vegan. I wouldn't have thought their ancestors ate meat. Sorry ? What was the reason why our ancestors ate meat for thousands of years ?
Whoa...fried food builds you up. Well yes, but not with vegetable seed oils or olive oil blends with canola oil added. Also low carb cuts out many chronic diseases later in life. Zero sugar is ideal also. Just a suggestion, but all the best.
As a person who is vegan I believe you and support your decision to eat omnivore again. There are no words to describe how complex the human digestive experience is! Food should be enjoyable and if veganism wasnt working out for you I think that is okay. When focusing more on the diet of veganism people usually call it plant based but that is just a tiny detail.
you will go through a detox period after been vegan or raw vegan that is why your body seems to get worse, but I have so much energy and full of vitality after I switch to this diet. You need to use enema or slowly transition to this diet.
She was vegan for five years. That would be a pretty long detox period. I think this mentality gets people stuck in a diet that’s making them sick, thinking they’ll get better if they just keep at it.

Looking good is very objective but I think I look way better now being well nourished. I can tell you that I did not feel good and not having period for a woman is a big thing. And of course, social media gets the very loud voices but still, it's a pretty restrictive diet.
Looks are Subjective :). I did raw for two years and it was great. I quit because i had to eat 5 kg / 10 lbs of food everyday to feel amazing and my ego wanted to lift heavy in the gym. I did 30% fat / 20 % protein and rest were carbs. There are tons of people who do raw and have kids but they eat a LOT and fruit is not the main dish. I am not a woman :D but my opinion is that you probably did not had enough food . Best of luck in whatever u do !!!
Well when I was just vegan I'd say I was doing that pretty dang healthily. I was eating tons of quinoa, beans, tempeh, tofu, nutritional yeast, and calorically eating enough. The raw diet was for sure unhealthy and unsupportive. The reason I talk about the vegan diet being unhealthy is because after doing my research and really opening up my eyes to leaving veganism I started hearing countless stories of people from all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds who had the same deterioration of health which lead me down even more research finding doctors talked openly about the deterioration they saw in their vegan clients. Very few people actually stay vegan and there's a reason for it. My journey, while mixed in with an ED background, is still valid becuase in my eyes cause if it truly was a healthy diet, I should have experienced some level of increase in health.. which I didn't. Just a week of animal products and I felt immediately better... I think that says something about the healthfulness of a vegan diet. If it can't nurture someone who is weak to make them strong than is it really a diet that is supportive for health?
I'd like a vegan to tell us exactly wgat we did wrong instead of these super vague comments. We did do it right. Now we eat meat and we feel awesome. I font even haveto do it right with meat.. I eat super casually and I feel so much better then when I was a perfect vegan, eating tons of veg and fruit and supplements.
if your current way of eating is so great, why do you look 10 years older than your biological age? Is it just sun damage, genes perhaps? I don't get how people just right out want to ignore the science on cholesterol and saturated fat. This goes to show: never just follow ANY online guru... so yes, that includes this woman. She thinks the found the holy grail... but is she a doctor? Is she a an actual researcher with a doctorate? I know it's not sexy, but the official facts are: plant based diets rank the healthiest on the scale of lifestyles regarding longevity and health. You cannot dispute this. No matter how much your vegan diet gave you PTSD.
What are you talking about ??Chloe looks perfectly her age, she is so vibrant ….but all the long-time vegans are prematurely aged, look up FullyRawKristina for example.
@@larastueben9458 I completely agree with you on the raw vegans and fullyrawkristina... I am absolutely not saying that Kristina looks good, I actually think what she promotes is really unhealthy and yes, you can tell by her looks... something is terribly off. But Chloe wants to make a point that plant based diets are what cause ill health. The science does not support this. It is about nuance. High cholesterol/saturated fat diets, we know this causes disease. Raw vegan diets, we know this is not supportive of long term health, especially regarding female fertility. Look into the actual science. Not people who look up to Ray Peat or "pro metabolic" or "ancestral" diets.
i think she looks great, so glowing and happy! i've never been a vegan but there was a time i was eating more plant foods and smoothies and my health completely plummeted, i became hypothyroid, my period was completely messed up with the most painful cramps, my hair started thinning, bloated and constipated all the time. ever since i stared eating more red meat and animal foods, my thyroid is normal, i got off thyroid medication, and my period is regular again, less bloated and better digestion.
A lot of people get the science on cholesterol wrong including those carnivore UA-camrs telling you “high LDL cholesterol is healthy” when it isn’t , they always misrepresent the studies on cholesterol because they show reasons that causes LDL cholesterol to increase such inflammation but not one of those studies say high LDL is healthy because of inflammation it shows you the reasoning behind it

Smh, they will only learn when it happens to them unfortunately that was the case with me
I quit red meat but I still eat wild fish , pasture raised eggs, and pasture raised chicken.
I loved this video but If you were eating a ton of food as a vegan how were you so thin? Seems like vegan isn’t to blame for a loss of periods but more under eating and stress ….there are vegan coaches who specialize In getting people their period back just by eating more at first and balancing hormones with the right mix of fats and carbs
I could definitely relate to this video and I appreciate it
But I just think there’s got to be a way to be ok without animals …but maybe I’m wrong and that’s why I’m stuck
But your comment is the long version of 'you did it wrong '
It shoukd not take every single ounce of energy to not feel like you are dying.
I was meaning ZERO disrespect and I am not a MUST BE VEGAN person at all
I’m sure the “you did it wrong” gang have already commented.
Well, she clearly did.
That should be easy to digest AND it's incredibly nutritious
only 2 mins into the video and let me pause and say girl same!!! going raw was the end of my vegan eating days. i will continue watching now lol
Where you following food combining?
I dabbled at times with it. During my vegan days I was monomealing a lot so I guess that counts.
Very cool video. I love the now commentary critique of your past self talking. I haven't ever seen that before!
me too too much plants create bloating...
@@amitloutube my IBS symptoms have improved tremendously since I've started eating all kind of food!
It left me wondering, why should I believe you now, if I shouldn`t have believed you back then.
The only issue with the pro (insert diet here) content, is the anti (insert diet here) baggage that tends to come along for the ride. What we experience, some others may experience differently. Also, there are stages to each person's experience. Vibrational changes can be intense. Good video, thank you for the information.
It’s like going raw was the final straw! And then you needed some damn eggs
Haha yes I am grateful for that moment of going raw because it really got me to see just how poor my health was.
there is a reason why our ancestors ate meat for thousand of years
I’m just confused how eating animal products fixed these digestive problems. It’s weird to blame the lack of eating animals for her disordered eating.
at 6:33 you see a seedless watermelon. It is seedless because its genetic structure has been changed. I would not consider that "healthy".
Paige shay is this, in her diet video recently she just ate a watermelon for breakfast and blended bananas for lunch
Ya, I see new versions of Freelee the banana girl all over the place. It sadly won't end well for most people.
you will go through a detox period after been vegan or raw vegan that is why your body seems to get worse, but I have so much energy and full of vitality after I switch to this diet. You need to use enema or slowly transition to this diet.
She was vegan for five years. That would be a pretty long detox period. I think this mentality gets people stuck in a diet that’s making them sick, thinking they’ll get better if they just keep at it.
Don't stop Chloe, I love your vids. Brave healthy goddess woman!
Appreciate the sweet words!
carnivore is how humans should eat

There are normal speaking raw foodists :D , it's not for everyone, you did look good when raw
Just telling people what they want to hear. Yeah, that cake is better for you than vegetables. 🙄
strawman argument lololol
Where is your heart? Did you hear anything she said
Your description of how you did vegan and raw vegan was unbalanced and unhealthy. Judging the vegan diet by this video is completely warped
A lot of people get the science on cholesterol wrong including those carnivore UA-camrs telling you “high LDL cholesterol is healthy” when it isn’t , they always misrepresent the studies on cholesterol because they show reasons that causes LDL cholesterol to increase such inflammation but not one of those studies say high LDL is healthy because of inflammation it shows you the reasoning behind it
Disputed it* You mad bro? 😋
Well can you at least eat lab grown meat and not hurt animals.
