Honey, I love this 3rd time of retightening. Your locs are so gorgeous. They are definitely swelling a lot and I can’t wait to see how they will look in 6months. 😍😍😍
I really enjoy watching your videos. I like how you keep things simple and straight to the point. Great job keeping your hair up. I’m going to start retightening my daughter’s locs this weekend!! Super excited 😊
Girl you have a LOT of Locs, but you have very dense hair, a lot of strands. Bless you for retightening them jokas, I started with about 280ish about 11 years ago and now I have 264 it takes me about a day to retighten mines.... I combined my perimeter and a few in the back
I remember when you said that your hair grows very slow. At 6 weeks it really doesn't look like a lot of growth. Maybe 1/2 inch. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️. Regardless of the fact, your pics are Bae and they look absolutely beautiful. Fuzzy or not.
Hey Queen, Its been almost a month since my initial install of DIY micro locs I was wondering if you know when I should wash my hair and when I should start using essential oils? Right now I’ve been just wetting my hair in the shower and spritzing with water when I feel like it’s dry. Love your videos! Thanks 😊
I washed my hair the day I finished my install. So whenever you want to would be my answer. But make sure you braid and band to avoid bunching and slippage! As to when to use oils... I’ve never used anything other than shampoo and water. When watching SL vids they say avoid using oils for as long as you possibly can so as to encourage the locking process and discourage build up. So I can’t really comment on when you should or shouldn’t but I haven’t yet and I’m 4.25 months locked. Hope that helps! 😊
Are you still using the Sisterlock shampoo? I’ve been Sisterloc’d 15 months now and I hardly stretch my hair (4a/b type 4 hair with a 4pattern rotation) and I have yet to experience any bunching 🤞🏾, even with my curly ends because I am very consistent with my braiding and banding. I don’t think it’ll be an issue for you either.
QueenEleem Do you like it? I’m in the market for a new clarifying shampoo that’s not overly drying or stripping. I’ve been working out a lot recently so flaking seems to be becoming an issue.
I want microlocs so bad but my scalp gets inflamed so easily. I can't go more than a week without a wash. I have heard a lot of stories about people with locs getting sensitive scalp from the tension of reties. Have you experienced that at all? -- Nevermind, I just watched the video again lol. Was typing this comment instead of listening!
I had microlocs while my daughter was 2-6 and didn't have any big issues. Paid for the retis for the first year (about $70-80 each time) but then did my own retis after taking the official sisterloc retightening class. You definitely don't need to do the class; I was just worried I was going to mess something up after spending $500 on that install, but you won't learn anything you can't learn on UA-cam now. After that, I would do my own retis over the course of a week and it took me about 8-10 hours to do what my loctician could do in about 1.5 -2 hours (she was so fast). Also, I had about 350-400 locs and that was considered medium-large sized microlocs.
Also, spreading out the reti wasn't that big of an issue since you don't really have to 'hide" parts of your head the same way you would if you were trying to do, say, box braids spread out over that long. I shaved my head bc ultimately I was ready for a change after almost 20 years of locs (traditional first, then micros) and also bc I was working on a demanding graduate program, but managing with my daughter wasn't bad. I would just spend an hour or so a day working on the reti when it was time.
My daughter is 11. She’s been had locs for 16 months now. This is my first time retightening her locs after watching Queen Eleem’s tutorial video. I will be maintaining her locs going forward.
You can also try 5 weeks instead and see if it helps you move faster. Try aziza mawiyah on IG. She’s a traveling consultant and mostly based in NY. Sumlocks is also in NY, based in Brooklyn. They both seem to do wonderful work based on their IG.
Yes, the ones in the back are starting to look like locs. I can see them swelling. Looks great.

When your wash and go w/shrinkage is EVERYTHING 😁😁😁. 🥰💕
I just got my sister locks Dec 24th. I cannot wait to get to your length. Live it

Awesome! Is this your first time retightening her hair?
Yes, I’ve been watching so many videos and techniques. Do you have anything suggestions for me?
Your hair is marvelous.
I like the full, coily, fluffy look that your hair has unstretched after washing
They're definitely starting to look like locs! They're beautiful 💜
Yay! Thank you!

Your hair still looks amazing! Good luck with school in the fall and on your search for a loctician.
Hi there! You could split the difference and retie at 5 weeks! 🙂 Your locs are all beautiful, but I like the ‘meatiness’ of the locs in the back.
Your hair looks beautiful! Excellent job!!
I just love your locs. I saw the effort put in to getting here. Something is happening 😊
Your hair seems to grow faster in the back.
I also prefer a fresh retie. Beginning of week 2 is my favorite time
💙💙💙💙 I love the final look.
I love your hair!! I'm halfway done installing mine. It's hard doing your hair yourself but you did it!!
Woot woot! Yes it is possible!
Jenell B. Stewart uses Aziza as he sister loc consultant. She has posts on her IG page.
Thank you! I’ll check her out!
They’re coming along nicely 😍
Your locs look so good. I NEED those plants. What's the one on your right?
The one on her right is a bamboo plant. The other looks like a snake plant.
Lucky bamboo stalks on my right and a snake plant on my left
@@QueenEleem thanks so much!! 😊
I love them!

Amazing job every time 😍👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Have you tried to stretch dry your hair with the RevAir?
Thanks for sharing your journey.
Thank you for following 🙂

Beautiful 😍
I don’t mind the growth but I like the fresh look of a retie.
Exactly, same 🙂

Im not right now. I’m using candisweet beauty’s shampoo right now bc I wanted a scent and something more clarifying

Also on your next reti, do you mind showing how you incorporate your fuzzies/stray strands back into your locks for a neater retightening look please?
Do you ever oil your scalp and locs or do you just spray them?
No oil on my scalp or locs. Just water when I reti, and shampoo when I wash
QueenEleem okay tysm for answering!

Hey community and host do you guys know of a person with small children that has microlocs. I'm interested in seeing how they managed this.

Thank you all for your time and attention. Be blessed!
What is the name of that bamboo plant back there? I want one lol
Lucky bamboo
Your hair looks great! You may be able to push to 8 weeks if you find loctician to do regularly.

Ok thank you for the referral!
For me somewhat in between
