Yessssssssssssssssss let’s hear from the friend! I also started my microlocs with 2 strand twists so I’d love to hear about her journey! Love your channel!!!
You can use your recycled locs to extend or shore up the weakened locs by using a tiny crochet needle to back and forth blend those weak areas into the locs!
My sisterlocks consultant calls it the lions mane. Head full of thick locs and yours look so beautiful!😍 You inspired me to start my journey and am now 16 months in. The orange copper does give a warm vibe and looks beautiful on your skin tone better than the blonde.
Love the color for fall. For your 2 locs on the sides that are thin, you make a few small ties with your loc right exactly where they are thin. You have to take your time to center them. I have done it on clients and my own hair in the past. It works really well. You can't tell that it was ever thin. It makes a complete cylinder shape.
It's the volume and thick, fluffiness for me.😍 Your natural hair colour is perfect with your skin tone IMO; the hair wax has nothing on your natural colour. But, if I had to choose between this and the blond wax, I would choose the copper.
The density point is very true. I have nearly 1000 locs and I never realised how dense my 4c hair was until I installed mine. The size of I don't mind though because I only do my own hair and have been for a while now. Thank you for updating us. Your videos were so helpful with installing mine and I love love love my hair
Yes, you could place the thicker part of the lock on top of the thin spot and use a very small crochet hook to weave in and out and combine it that way. It will give it its thickness back. Love your channel. I started my daughter's microlocks because of you. Best decision ever❤
Aww thank you. Me too. I wish my mom would have resulted in locks instead of a relaxer. But we live and we learn. My daughter is always picture day ready😊
Pleaseeee more videos on your micro loc journey, styling videos and how your friend combats dryness. I love how detailed you are about explaining your micro loc experience.
I just started my microlocs journey with braids today because of you! I didn't have the mental fortitude to do the math of my head so they're all 3/8". Wish me luck!😆🤞🏽
It's absolutely stunning 😍 I thought it was permanent I was so relieved when I saw paint wax. Atleast you can rinse it out and it shouldn't cause any damage.
Clicked on the notification with the speed! 😂 Bomb content always. I like this new color better on you. It turned out a nice cinnamon I think. Oh wow! The volume is so noticeably different! Especially on the individual locs. My daughter has above 600 locs like you and is 1 year and 11 months loced. Here locs are doing the exact same thing yours are. She was a true 4c before locs. I too have noticed the long frizz around some of her locs. I two strand twist it round the length of the loc when I'm maintaining. If it's short frizz I just use the lock smithing technique to smooth it all the way down from root to tip. As always, TFS.
Looks great and seems like a great alternative to dye. My only concern is that the product will become embedded within my locs. In my mind, my locs are like a sponge. Any gels, wax, and cream based products will leave a "FILM" after a wash that is not visible to the naked eye; this will lead to build-up which will come to the surface "overtime." Although color is good, I'm not sold on the color wax. Looks really good though!
You and your locs are gorgeous. I have microlocs as well(about 600 and inspired by you), and I was seriously thinking of combining them(my self reties take forever!). I watched this video and decided to keep them micro for a little longer. Your locs are the bomb! The copper color is very nice on you.
The locks that are in the front of your hair that is thinning you could knot it. Only to the part that is thinning because it will then thicken out like the rest of the lock. You will need to do the nuts uniformed as in side-by-side and try to pull the knot to the same size.
love the thickness of your locs, they look great! also that color looks good on you! i plan to start my microloc journey soon with two strand twists so i'd love to hear from your friend.
I like this color better. It warms you up🔥 I stopped braiding and banding month 8. I was over it haha. One or two of my locs have bunched up but I'm fine with that. I only have 260ish locs.
Same, I was over braiding and banding early lol! I have a little over 200 locs and I'm 19 months in. Had some bunching but they are smoothing themselves out.
Great video😀! For repairing those locs in the middle you can interlock those areas. My sister has diy Microlocs also and she’s a cosmetologist 🤗! She did a video about it if you’re interested. Her channel is Tiyaná Hicks. Hope that’s helps, thanks for sharing ❤️!
To address your thin locks, do you have the locs you cut off? You could use that hair or synthetic hair and weave hair into the locs to strengthen them.
Hey your locs look beautiful! personnally I like your natural hair color better on you :). Btw I have the same problem ...my locs are thinner right in the middle of the loc...Still waiting to see if there's a solution other than cutting!
Your locs are progressing beautifully. I like this hair paint better than the first color. To me it was BOMB when only the front was done. It looked more like a highlight. =)
I've never done it but I'm in a loc community group and they talk about crocheting hair into the loc where there may be thinning. UA-cam has everything so I'm sure there is a video on it lol!
yes love the color! complements your cute freckles! Love your hair! I'm still on the fence about allowing my hair to loc. I wear twists...I undo and wash once per month. I just don't know at this point
Hey Beautiful Queen. Thanks for sharing another video. I would definitely like to see you have a special guest. I stopped banding my hair as soon as my 1 year anniversary rolled in and my locs have been fine. The color looks good on you and I like this color better than the blonde.
Thanks for sharing. I love your content. Would love to see updates on you as well as your friend who started with 2 strand twists. I like the new color.
Copper is stunning🙌🏽 This color your complexion so well and the color alone has more depth too Just a suggestion, maybe consider lowering the volume of the music during the 360 and other montage segments 🙏🏽
On combining via 2-strand twists... (I am on my second set of micro locks. The first time I went 17 months and combed them out. Second set I chose Sisterlocks and just made five years). I started combining some small ones with the second set in my nape and temple area. I did that not realize that it starts the locking process over with those two locks, and thus slowed down my locking process and my length drop. When you combine at the root the lock has a better chance of staying on track with the original locking time, instead of starting over. The little hairs that stick out at the base will soon mesh with the lock it's been pulled into. As for tips on thinning locks, you can combine them with another one via two-strand twist to make it thicker? At that point who cares about the locking having to start over, you just want it to survive right? , lol. I absolutely love your locks btw they look very beautiful on you!
@@QueenEleem Yes, how was her journey. Was it similar to yours? Will two strand twists create the same look if my texture and length is similar to yours? ❤️
@@AuthenticTruthSeeker my best friend has microlocs and I had so many questions for her cause I’m going to start my own. She did her own starting with ‘two strand twists’ and then she retie the roots to lock it in place. They’re also ALOT of diy videos that are informative
@@chanelsummers222 Thank you for your response. Much appreciated. I started them DIY and finished in May. Just recently celebrated my 6 month microloc-iversary. ☺️
Do you have any advice on dealing with tangles when not stretching? Last time I didn't stretch my ends for a few days, I had a bunch of tangles at the ends (plus snapping when separating the locs). It was as if I had my natural hair again lol. I was just wondering if it was something you dealt with as I think our hair is very similar.
What I find helps for me and my daughter (we're 4b and 4c) was to trim off the straggly tips. That helped a TON. Then when I need to rake through the locs with my fingers, I lightly mist the locs with plain water, apply coconut oil in between my fingers and it works like magic for us.
I don’t have any problem with my ends snagging. They coiled up like immediately post retie. But I’d love to hear if brown eyed’s advice helps! Please lmk!
Let's hear from your friend, healthy hair is the goal, frfr. To help with loose hair outside loc: crochet the loose hair hanging outside the loc into shaft of loc, to strengthen thinning loc: crochet the thin locks up into (fold up) loc strengthen. There are UA-cam videos available. Hair wax looks good
I do like this color better....Or maybe you need to do a combination of some blonde, some copper and some your natural color.... Your locs look beauitiful. As for those thin ones... I'd just cut them off and start over, but that's my answer to just about any hair dilemma LOL.
Where in Brooklyn did you go? I have a loc consultation in the Bronx at the end of the month, but I’d love to have a second opinion because it looks like this person doesn’t start locs with micro twists, which is what I want.
Lint literally floats in the air, so nobody with locs can avoid it completely. Just like you, I thought my locs were lint free in the early years. Then, one day I was sitting in my car on a sunny day and I randomly ran my fingers through my locs. In the sunlight, I saw lint that wasn't visible to the naked eye floating around my car's cabin. I was shocked because I thought I had been doing all the right things necessary to avoid lint. Trust me when I say lint exists in your locs. You just can't see it right now.
