Yes that little zippered vestibule you commented on is interesting I’ve yet to find much use for it other than perhaps stashing your pack on that side in foul weather freeing up space in the main vestibule .Then one could access some gear to pull thru into the tent as long as it fits thru that silly zipper. That s all I can think of. Is a fantastic tent ! all in all very happy especially for $ 165 USD
Great review. I agree, but I will have to add that is a very very hot tent in sunny days (even with wind). Being made with a white thin fabric, it lets all the sun light in. Also, the stakes are really bad.
If it was made of darker material it would be even hotter, I think the reason it is hot is low ventilation compared to double wall tent. On opposite side you will not get cold in winter :)

Thanks! If you keep the mesh door closed then bugs and creepy crawlies can't get in at all. The weight is including everything (tent, poles, guylines, stakes, and groundsheet).
I think it will work in the Drakensberg in winter, but if you're wanting it primarily as a winter tent that will need to deal with snow, you might want to get the version with the snow flaps.
Thanks for your follow-up review. Love my Vik 1 as well. Great living space and weight. I tie the back vestibule flap up to the ridge pole for more ventilation. Have you tried rolling or folding the vestibule door on the inside of the pagged hslf jnstead of outside? It works for easier access when closing from the inside
I haven't used the P-series tents yet, but from the structure that I can see online, I would be a bit worried about how they hold up in the wind. If I can save up some extra cash, I will try to test out a P-series tent 😊 (spent my most recent savings on another NatureHike tent: the Opalus).

Glad it was useful 😊 You could fold it inwards as well, but it would be pretty awkward getting it to hook on to the corner of the tent from the inside (this is true whether it is folded on the outside or the inside).
i've read online multiple times that the naturehike vik 1 is too short for people 170cm tall or more, is this really true? i'm 174cm and don't wanna touch the walls and get my sleeping bag wet...
My fiance is 184cm tall, and he has used this tent a number of times. He says that it is a bit difficult to avoid touching the walls if you are tall, but he manages to make it work. He quite likes the tent.

Since it is a single wall tent, it does form some condensation especially when raining, but I've never had it drip on me. I have used a buff to wipe down the walls sometimes.
I haven't had it in snow yet, but have used it in below freezing conditions and with heavy winds, and it was great. It does have some condensation on the inside, like most single wall tents, especially in hot humid weather.
If I sit in the doorway, I can stretch my arms out to the side without touching the 2 ends of the tent, but I can't stretch them above my head. If I am lying down in the tent I can stretch my arms up, but not to the sides. I hope that makes sense 😊

Are the tarp attachment points on the poles good? Won't it strain the seams with strong winds for a long time?
I haven't had any issues with the attachment points that connect the flysheet and the tent poles, and I have used this tent in quite strong winds.
