I never understood why people can’t learn from trick tips when they are taught by someone that is a different stance from them. All that matters is the foot placement, wherever they put they’re feet do the same with yours, front foot by the bolts and back in the pocket or whatever haha but everyone is different and he does a good job by showing the different angles 🤟🏼 glad you can help us progress
Addressed my 2 issues immediately.. I was in ollie position with my front foot and scooping straight in front of me instead of diagonal and it was always shooting so far back and I felt like I had to be an olympian jumper to catch it. Thanks 💪
Hy Sean! Yesterday I found out what I did wrong since I stated practicing this trick, and maybe others are struggling for the same reason! My problem was, that I didn't practice a pop shove it, but more like a "shove pop it" If that makes sense. If you are standing in front of the board, practicing the motion and the board smacks against your front foot's shin, you are doing it wrong. You are basically trying to shove the board while it's still contacting the ground with its wheels. Instead you have to really try shoving the board after the pop, so the shove is done on the tail. It's a small change in the foot motion, but makes so much difference. I have to relearn muscle memory from the last 4 weeks now. 😅 hope that helps someone!
A little follow-up to this comment. I land this trick more and more often now doing the following: I don't only shove the tail in front of me, it's more like I would want to shove the tail forward to where the nose of the board is. So not only shove the board in the direction of where your body is facing, but to where you are rolling. If that makes sense.
I was ditzing around and trying to figure out whether to push straight forward or on the diag. Guess I'll go with diag! Somehow visualizing the board being under me rather than back of me seems to help too. We'll see TY!
Yo for anyone whose having trouble with committing, try the grass trick his mentions. I did it today rolling, again, again, and again… until i could land on the bolts. Then i took it to the pavement and after a few tries i finally got it. Pavement to grass is the answer, i just didnt feel comfortable jumping & landing backwords for skme reason but once i got used to it on grass i had no problem. Really focus on and Use ur front foot to guide u and u got it, thanks for the tip man!🎉🎉 gottem on lock by the next sesh
Dude I haven’t even finished the video yet and you’ve already corrected 3 things I was doing wrong with my foot placement…thank you so much!! You are very good at explaining things and giving crucial tips I haven’t heard before. Thank you!!
I’ve been going back through all the basic tricks and trying to get them perfect with good technique. What I’ve noticed is foot placement is basically the most important part of every trick. It’s crazy how different a trick will feel with proper foot placement
Yo Sean! Ive been trying to get this trick for 20 years. My regular Shuvs are a thing of beauty but my front shoves? Fuckkk. Following your steps I just landed 4 in a row after many attempts. The leaning back on your heels is what clicked for me finally. Thanks so much brother
hey I just want to say thanks for your kickflip video crossing your arms and jumping up is probably the best thing that's helped me with it I've landed my first kickflip two days ago thank you
couldnt get myself to land this tricks for the longest time ( i got all other pop shovits except for front shov and switch front shov ) Had a lilttle sesh with a friend after watching this video and got the switch front popshov! thanks alot gonne try and get the regular one now!
thanks bro I didn't know about the front foot thing and the diagonal scoop so I think those will really help. I tried this trick about 150 times earlier without getting it and I was getting really frustrated lol.
if you’re having commitment issues, i suggest doing the front shove into a patch of grass that’s behind you (like the same place the ledge would be if you were to do a backside 50-50).
I can fakie front shuv perfectly. But i can rarely land a regular front shuv. Thank u for this i will try this. I definitely thinkk its my foot position lol
yo dude, I'm having trouble just getting my board to spin, I can't get it to spin under me with the front shove, I can do a regular shuv it but fs is impossible for me
anyone know what i’m doing wrong? i can almost get it but the board goes flying on the side of me never behind or in front of me just the side same thing with the pop shuv. i only landed one shuvit but it wasn’t really a shuv it was like a 90 degree instead of the 180 traditional

The vertically-forward scoop is the KEYYYYYYYY 🔥🔥🔥
i just landed my first pop shuv, shuv, and frontside shuv because of you. i love you man
2:08 those camera angles will help a lot of people, smart idea. I use to get so mad when I watched Arron kyro because he was goofy and I’m regular.

I just commented on one of his videos about how nice it is he’s goofy 😂. The camera angle is 💯 though

Thx i landed my first 2 bc the lean back and diangle push tysm
Awesome!
U the best for theese. Every singel time u make my tricks better. U my favorite skate teacher ;D
BONUS TIP: Use your nose as the tail to possibly get more pop
Sean Brown WTF the nose dousnt give you more pop because it’s longer, the pop is better on da tail
Inderruheliegtdiekraft it’s mainly because over time your tail can get worn down and razor tailed, therefore allowing you to get more pop on the nose
Sean Brown yeah that’s right
Inderruheliegtdiekraft dang why were u so angry tho 😆
Isaiah Skates just because I used the f word? 😂
