For everyone struggling with this trick because the board flies behind you or is doing weird shit, this is my suggestion: pop straight down almost like an ollie, then at the last second scoop out and inward. I used to have troubles with this trick, and once i understood how it works, it became really easy... If you are doing it right the board stays directly under you. A lot of people underestimate this basic trick, but in my opinion the sooner you learn to do it the proper way, the better it is, it's gonna help you alot later with varial heels, laser flips, hardflips, ecc.
@@luke4060 offset your front front by turning it 45 degrees, and have your toes slightly hanging off. that helped keep the rotation centered for me instead of the board whipping around like a frontside 180
@@yungbullbeats2183 for me I picked up heelflips waay easier then kickflip, but learning heelflips while moving was waaay harder then doing kickflips while moving, the kickflip just comes alot easier while moving.
i’m a beginner, and anticipating the board coming behind me a bit, and therefore jumping back to catch it helped me soo much. try that y’all, if you can’t land it normally
Very cool video, I love what you do, and I don't understand why you haven't more followers. Can you do a trick tip on half cab heel or frontside heel please? I suck at them.
When I watch a skateboard trick guide: I can do it it's pretty easy! I'm going out mom! When I get outside: Fuck, I broke my ankle. Fuck skateboarding! Let me buy a scooter it's easier.
don't know if this makes sense, but I kind of found out that for fs shuv you can differ with your bodycenter. My friend would always lean back from start and also jump and land back (i think similar to VLSkate here). My way is to sort of start with the bodycenter a little bit in front of the board and just while jumping off I pull back. This has the effect that my jump looks vertical like an ollie and the board shuves right under me.
frontside POP shove it :) I am atm learning the frontside shove it (non pop). the worst part is board is going behind you and you don't really see it while jumping backwards..but I'm getting there. Also getting a ton of shinners in the proccess!
Hey Mr.VL I have been struggling with Lazor Flips and I was wondering if you can do a trick tip on them? Thank you if you are reading this I really appreciate your content! XD
Hey, this tutorial really helped but commitment is really hard mainly because the one time I did commit I landed primo, any tips for preventing that? P.S I love your content, your amazing dude!
I was out skating, I ended up learning the front side shove it, but I don’t have to jump backwards. I made it stay in front with me. Sometimes when I get a bad one it flies backwards. But I’m not too good so I only got at 5 times🗿
Guys when you do a back shuvit you jump forward to stay above the board and when you do the front shuv you jump backward! Try it and tell me what happens! :)
my foot position is totally different to what's explained in this video. I find it easier to keep the board underneath me when my feet are in the ollie position.
VLSkate you know what really helped me alot. The foot placement. I used to do them with like how i do a 180 perpendicular to the board. But when i saw yours, i angled it and landed it 3rd try!!!
Can someone please respond I’ve been practicing my fs shuv and every time i do it my body just rotated with it is there anyway I could stop moving my body with the board
I know this video is old but it think this technique is better for a 360 front shuv. For a front shuv you should just be pushing down. You don’t push out as much as you think you do. When you push down and barely push out it should rotate almost exactly 180 degrees and then you don’t need to worry about it over rotating..just catching it. But whatever works for you. Just want people to know this is one of those tricks that has different techniques to it
+Kirill Danyuk heyy sorry, i don't know it was just a mix of being crazy busy with school, getting sick, and just not being able to land anything new for a while :/ i'm trying to get back into it though!
+VLSkate ohh i hope you got better now yeah i know it sucks to be sick and not be able to skate. i have the same problem as you but with kickflips cant land them and i have bin practicing for a long time
I have these like 9/10 switch but once in a blue moon regular. I'm also better at fs bigspins switch, and I'm closer to nollie back heels than fakie front heels? Weird haha!
Also, I think I've discovered why your front shuvs go behind you. Watch 0:40 closely, you seem to wind up and begin to twist your shoulders frontside. Frontside 180s go behind you, so you could be almost nudging the board behind you with your shoulders if that makes sense. Try popping the board straight down THEN scoop. I try to scoop taking the shape of the tail if that makes sense. When I start making videos again I'mma make a trick tip on keeping these centered which might interest you!
+Kamrin Murphy Shoulders doesn't mean anything as long as they are parallel, the real reason because his board flies behind him is because he's mainly only scooping OUT. Like you said the correct way to do this trick, it's to pop down almost like an ollie and then at the last second scoop out and a little bit inward. I can do this trick in every stance correctly (with the board staying under me) , so if you are doing them good switch remember that the same principles work for your regular stance too, just do the same thing with your other foot.
This trick makes me want to break my skateboard in half idk what I’m doing wrong but I’ve been practicing it for 3 days now and I have the pop and rotation of the board and everything. But when I fucking go to commit to landing it my fucking heels wack the board and I can’t seem to get my feet over the board without them getting walked so frusturating
did i mention its really easy? btw i cant actually land it properly and have to jump really far backwards but i cant beleive you cant do it its so easy
I've had the same problem with normal shuvs when I was learning and I'd suggest to hold on to a stair rail or summ to get comfortable with actually jumping with both feet! It helps a TON! :)
Man, please do a Backside 180, I really can't do it. I usually have nice Frontside 180s, but there's something about the weight distribution and the spin that gets me so uncomfortable that I can't learn it. Should I just learn it on carpet first?

Patrick Lunardi this was more helpful than any tutorial i have found on the entire internet, thank god you understand the whole flying backwards thing
@@luke4060 offset your front front by turning it 45 degrees, and have your toes slightly hanging off. that helped keep the rotation centered for me instead of the board whipping around like a frontside 180
This really work thank you
Thx
i nollie double lazerflipped down el toro the other day but i still cant front shuv.
Have you tried turning it on and off?

I love how you repeat things which makes the certain points pop out more. ;)
+_ Justinlbdr _ glad that it helped :)
There you are again
I learned this one after practicing my fs and bs 180's today, I'm stoked to have all the basic shuv variations now.
Next is flip tricks...
Dat Guy nice i just got kickflips down now going to heels and its way harder to me than kickflips

I need to learn bs180, front shuv and back shuv. Then ill move onto kickflip

I’m always landing on the nose while trying this trick...
skate edits so am I and I have no idea how to keep from it 😂
I can’t even land
@@renzflores9525 I can’t even rotate
Love this trick I got them in all stances
Dam the amount of shinners u took in this video I pray kids don't always ask you for tips on front shuvs rip
Thanks for the tutorial! The fs shove it was really easy to learn and only took me 30 minutes
Boy, how I needed this
Dude your hitting your foot pretty bad are you ok
😂😂😂
this man took so many shin shots filming this mad respect
It helps to see someone's foot positioning and a down view of the practice motion. I know I can do it now, just looking at the practice view
Looking forward to try this again. Been having trouble with it. Otherwise, could you do fake bigspin tutorial?
Thank you so much man I learned it is 20 minutes!
you're a great teacher
This was the first trick I learned after ollies, its all in the scoop and jumping back just a little when you pop.
Did u know that u r like a good skeatboard teacher i see your video's and i try for learn to skeating👍
i’m a beginner, and anticipating the board coming behind me a bit, and therefore jumping back to catch it helped me soo much. try that y’all, if you can’t land it normally
Skipped BS 180s but got pop shuvs so onto this!!
landed my first front shuv in five minutes 😼

Nice I tried to learn this before the pop shuvit by accident. If you’re learning this trick, good luck.
I try jumping backwards but I always think I'm doing a fs 180
Cool vid, I find that my front 180 foot position is nearly the same as my front shuv. I do have very sloppy front shuvs though, this vid will help
Been skating for 5 months can tre flip but can’t front shuv
frontside POP shove it :)

I learned it fast
Every time I try to do it my left foot ends up flicking the side and it flips away form em

I can do this switch and nollie but never got it regular still

No

TSQ Zilo don’t turn your shoulders and have your front toes hanging of and turn you back foot out to the back oh the tail😃

I somehow learned these first, I can’t bs pop shove it for shit
everytime i front shuv it my board does an ollie
It a pop shovit the opposite way, just use the same foot position force and go the opposite way and you should land it

shins of steel

Dude I thought the ollie was an ollie late flip lmfao
I shove it with the foot position of a pop shove it
also put your body weight backwards. lean back as you pop

I can pop shuv it but I can't 180 😑
I can land this but toe drag

I swore this was a backside shov it....your popping the board in the direction of your heel and jumping backwards. Oh well.
