I watched this video after I woke up this morning. I went outside and utilised the 'cross arms' motion that you talk about in this video... I landed THREE in a row! Thank you so much man!
On this day (June 21, 7:00 pm) I landed my first kickflip! Thank you so much for helping me with all my tricks, encouraging me to skate, and for making skateboarding fun! 🖤🖤🖤
ive watched SO many kickflip videos. Yours was the first one that actually helped. I can land backfoot now !!!! my front foot still hits the ground too early.
One of my biggest problems with kickflips was not practicing them daily, and getting old and out of shape. When you try re learning them and you run out of breath it becomes a REALLY frustrating trick LOL. However, your tip about weight FORWARD saved me so much. No videos talk about this. All they do is tell you where to flick and put your feet. Much gratitude sean.
Ahhhhhhhh thank you so much I didn’t land my kick flip yet but I am so much more closer to getting it then I was before watching this video u are a GOD
Got back into skating after 20 years.. relearning how to kickflip and the rest. I wish i had UA-cam when i was a kid. you had to pause VHS's and it was hard to learn from. haha
My main struggle with the kickflips is that I’m only able to land with my back foot, but my front foot is off to the side. Before this problem it was my front foot landing on my board and my back foot to the side.
First Try!!! I am sick trick kick flip landed my first kick flip move ground my right leg on my DGK skateboard deck set up. I learned how to primo flip and double 360 tre flip.
I landed my kickflip just recently in the past few weeks and this video really helped me get more consistent with them and all of your little tips have helped me so so much. The tip of leaning forward more and crossing my arms while I just helped the most!!
my board was rocketing away so I tried the leaning tip and it helped alot...still cant land a kickflip but at least the board is staying under me instead of flying away like my hopes and dreams of landing a kickflip.
1 thing that really helped me learning to land kick flips is once I switched focusing on the front foot to focusing on the back foot. Its the strangest thing - you can spend hours trying to get the flick of the front foot right, and every time you're either kicking the board away in front of you or having it not flip fully and you're thinking "Why can't I do this?" but once you say to yourself "OK, I know how to flick the board now, let's watch my back foot and make sure it is popping the tail and jumping up & over the board properly" suddenly it all starts making sense. At least it did for me. People teaching kick flips often say things like "its all in the flick of the toe" and that's kind of true, but that also means learners get a little obsessed watching their front foot, meaning your weight distribution is often off and you don't pop hard enough, and it wasn't until someone said "OK, but its just as important to focus on your back foot jumping directly over the board" that it all started to come together. If you've been battling to lands your 1st kick flip and can't stop kicking the board away and stuff, try just staring at your back foot instead, concentrating on stamping down and jumping directly up and over the board with it and just trust your front foot to get the flick done on its own!
New subscriber here. I want to skate again after how many years. And i need to Learn again from the start, for you are a Great Skateboarding Instructor
Honestly as a beginner skate boarder the most common mistake I do is shift my weight backwards and it always screws up whatever trick I'm trying, shifting your weight in front/center of the board solves 75% of my issues.
My problem is with my knee like nearly a year ago I basically couldn’t do anything so I have to be careful and I can’t pull it up or push down hard enough because of it and its mostly mentally because I don’t wanna push it past its point
If you guys are struggling to tuck your knees up here’s a trick that helped me out: After you are comfortable tucking your knees up while jumping without your board you can try to get comfortable to tuck your knees up when doing Ollies. This can even increase your Ollie height.

The movement with the arms is KEY! To have air control and get rid of fear of controlling your body and board

Patrick Thompson just don’t be a pussy and land it
Yeah just commit that’s all to it and predict figure the pattern on where you board lands
Patrick Thompson bro I’m the same with my foot just try to force ur front foot to come to the board
@@chewii8427 😂😂😂😂😂
For me, what helped me land it was not turning my shoulders and not leaning back. I started centering my weight, and that helped me
i havent skated since i was 12 went to teach my 5yo the basic of riding and realised quickly how much ive lost since then thanks for the content dude
bro u r the best, i could only get half flips, and than after this video, when i tried a kickflip, I landed it with one foot, I am so close now!

I’ve practiced the flick so much and got it really good but sometimes it won’t flip because I turn my shoulders and that makes it hard to flip.
If you guys are struggling to tuck your knees up here’s a trick that helped me out: After you are comfortable tucking your knees up while jumping without your board you can try to get comfortable to tuck your knees up when doing Ollies. This can even increase your Ollie height.
I know I’m late but when ever I do one I land with both feet close together then I fall off
