Time to ramp up the hunts in our games of Kingdom Death: Monster as the team heads out to hunt down a level two lion. This is a totally different beast with more A.I. cards, new attacks and ways to deal with hunters. The real question is are our survivors ready for this challenge?

Dmbenaron thats a realy good point. maybe email kdm creators and see if they have any improvements or suggestions section. When there next ready for updates of the rulebooks, it can add another dimention to the combat and makes strategy more enjoyable😋
In 1.5 deaf survivors cannot be encouraged.
Give said deaf survivor a dazzling smile and a thumbs up. If they happen to be looking at you... ENCOURAGED!
Whenever we start with ground fighting in play, we don't attack until everyone is in perfect position. Sometimes even taking 3-4 turns before attacking, so we can collect items on the board.
would have been a good time for them to get resources from the nightmare tree too :-)

Really? They made the announcement that they'd start up again just during christmas, why'd they stop releasing if it was a year ago
ghostkill221 Production takes a while. And they have so much on their plate that these later episodes were put on the back burner. Believe me, I bugged them for these episodes over the last year.
ghostkill221 the delay was because we were waiting on original art for the videos but it was taking too long. Hopefully the batch we record in March will get out quicker.
Is there an episode coming on February, Chris?
I want this game so bad!!! I've been binge watching tons of different videos and yours serious is one of my favorites the game is way beyond my budget and will be for several months unfortunately but I'm so anxious to play this!

I have this game ( V 1.5 ) but, yet have had the time to bust it out. Soon, I will start putting the starting survivors together and punch a White Lion's Dinky Off! Encourage: A standing survivor may spend 1 survival to encourage, calling out to another survivor and allowing them to stand if they are knocked down. A survivor may encourage at any time. DEAF Survivors may not be encouraged.

Mistakes happen in the heat of the game. Especially as we are up against the clock recording these videos.
I know, everybody makes mistakes.
I mean the last time I played KD:M we really screwed up few rules, It just happen that we were playing with 6 players and had the variant rule on, witch kinda confused me to begin with, then i found out we were using the damage rules on the monster wrong, I somehow thought the damage meant roll extra hit location dice, and that he could stand up from a knockdown when a reaction on a hit location came up, witch it can´t unless it was a trap. But we still managed to defeat the monsters by the skin of our teeth but there were so many survivors that died cause of these mistakes that the next session is gonna be quite awkward when I will have to explain all the mistakes we did. :S
"In range" means if the monster is capable of reaching the target within his movement, just so you know. Great series guys, please keep making these.

All Reactions on HL cards are 'Flow' points for Dash or Surge.
At around 42:00 You could have dashed before the lions reflex made it charge. There is a survival opportunity any time a roll is made against a hit location, but before any reactions occur. Unless that's new for 1.5.

@55:20 "An attacking survivor cannot use survival actions." Why could you dodge, while you couldn't dash?

9:57 For anyone curious about the cancer pigeons (SPOILER):

If your survivor(s) can't get away from the cancer pigeons, they suffer an impairment called Dead Inside and cannot gain survival. Obviously, that's really bad, and it would've been terrible for that to happen to their blue savior.
Priority Target token is removed the first time you're targeted for an attack. Traps also pick targets.
Is that in the 1.5 rules? The rulebook for the version they are using says the token is removed at the end of the next monster turn.
I love your series so much! I bought a preorder of the 1.6 core game and your series is super awesome for satiating me during my wait.
About time, I was worried you guys had quit mid-season
Im sure someone will parse the entire video and give you corrections, but Ill throw this in now. You can always spend survival after a wound roll, before the reaction. This is only untrue for the attacking survivor. I am also pretty sure you dashed twice in one turn towards the beginning. You dashed on the lions turn to avoid Clever, and then you dashed at the end of the survivors turn to kite it on its next turn. Survival resets at beginning of the monster turn.
All that said...Love the series. Watch each one as soon as I can. Hope you keep it up. Game has many moving parts and its hard to play it perfectly. In this case, you even made it harder.
Justin is so afraid of using survival even with the full rawhide armor and the thrill seeker art :(
At 35:05 you read that if the survivor, with the severe injury roll, had 3+ courage they only suffer a broken tooth and spit it out otherwise suffer knock down... wouldn't that mean if you didn't have 3+ courage then you would be knocked down? You were about to say they don't even get knocked down, Chris, but then you second guessed yourself.
Love the series. It's Inspiring me to paint up my kdm minis... started a new campaign with the 1.5 rules too. Keep it up. Love listening to this while driving to work. And Chris I feel for ya, bud. I too am the rules master in all my games and it's a heavy burden. A lot rides on us. It's not easy to take up the responsibility and give our fellow players a grand experience, such is the sacrifice of the rules Master! Lol. Good job!

I don't live locally to them so live streaming is a bit of a problem.
Future expansions.... not sure. I didn't back to get all the new expansions, and I have most of the originals. There is only so much we can stuff into a campaign.
So they are using the 1.3 rules for the savior? the 1.5 rulebook handles saviors in a very different manner. They basically age 2x instead of 4x but can do massive burst abilities in exchange for using extra hunt xp. I'm kinda sad because they lose the passive Affinity scaling in 1.5.
Also in 1.5 rules you may only have one savior at a time.

Hey guys, I'm a newish viewer who upon learning about Kingdom Death Monster has been bingeing all of your KDM content. You guys are really awesome, its a lot of fun just to watch you all play. I have a strange question though, hopefully you could answer it. In the top left hand corner of the room, there seems to be a board game in a white box, with its title partially obscured from view. For some reason, its caught my eye, but I seem to be unable to identify it, I was wondering if you could help me out, and tell what it is? Thanks in advance. Again, Love the series.
That would be LOAD the board game (League of Ancient Defenders).
Looking forward to the next nemesis. Keep it up! Does the L2 lion only move 6? Also towards the end when lion did 2 basic reaction attacks should he have had 3 speed (2 on card + 1 for L2)?

At 55:55 you fail to wound, the lion makes the reaction -basic attack-, you say you cannot dash because you are attacking but you use dodge. Are you allowed to dodge in that situation? . The rulebook says "Attacking survivor cannot perform survival actions" but that one in particular is kind of confusing.

I feel like survival actions should have some kind of a success check roll or something, the 100% guarantees are a little overpowered
This game is amazing BUT you can't find it anywhere but maybe eBay and it's 1000.00 + . The first kickstater people are still waiting for there copys and all the first run miniatures are rare and impossible to find . I would love to have this game but it looks like it will never reach retail . So thanks for the videos because it looks like it's the alone way to see this game .
Errm.... everyone from the 1st KS got their copies. People from the 2nd KS got their copies. The game is currently out of print as it is sold out (the 2nd KS was also to fun a retail run). Currently 2nd KS backers are awaiting the next wave, which is the expansions printed that were released during the 1st KS. Then future waves will release brand new content. So basically - wait for the shop to be restocked.

Great series but really can't stand the fact that the blond guy is always trying to control everyone's action.
It's a balance of a) Warrern and Justin haven't played as much as me so I trying to present all the best options possible b) we are recording these in a strict time slot so there is little time to quibble and discuss everything c) we do want to get through as much of the game on camera and not have a tpk.
I love their team dynamic, I think Chris is just taking the initiarive as a more experienced player. It' great.

Hey, it's that game with the insanely overpriced minis.
Not overpriced if you kickstarted them. Just don't buy them from other sellers. 10$ for a good miniature and small gameplay addition like twilight knight is VERY reasonable. Wait till they kickstart again or sell them on their site. The base game for 250$ comes with 8 Default starter miniatures, 7 Med sized monsters, 1 large monster mini, and pieces to customly assemble 20 more survivor miniatures with pieces for every single in game weapon and armor. that alone at 5$ a mini almost covers the full price of the game.
