I devoured all 15 episodes in a week(mostly listening at work) in preparation for finally playing my copy from the first KS with my friends. I’ve enjoyed every minute! Please do more KDM videos.

Honestly I prefer a few re-dos over restarting and grinding level 1 lions all day. It's the commentary, adventure, and seeing where the story leads that keeps me interested moreso than brutal mechanics.

I really enjoy every episode. This guys put a lot of effort to dont lose any detail. Maybe they keep going on with the story, but off camera. It takes a lot of time to edit every roll, and the carda camera. I hope that they continue with more episodes. They are great and very very funny party. Thanks for this 15 years.

I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to and watching this series. It's actually what convinced me to purchase the 1.5 core game. People will complain no matter what you all do. Please continue to do more videos when the opportunity presents itself.

If you dont like it, too bad. I really enjoy it. I enjoy this by proxy since I dont think I will get the game myself due to limited releases and costs. I think the thing to remember is that it is a playthrough of a board game and not anything serious. Its purpose is to entertain and if you are not entertain then stop watching but dont turn this into the next internet crusade because somebody made some editing you dont like.
I am entertained and things are moving fluidly so overall I look forward to the next episode.
I don't know if you guys are still considering making more, but thanks to you I've been loving KD solo and will be dming it (and fluffing up all the descriptions and choices) for my friends. I'll be binging you guys on some different games now, later :)

Oh no, I made it to the last episode! And while I've been playing the game, myself! This has actually been a useful series for me (and fun to listen to while I work), so I really do hope to see you guys come back to this someday. If it means you have to do a re-do or whatnot, then I'm fine with it. Things happen, and rules get fudged or missed all the time in complex games like this.

All of this cheating chatter reminds me of the SNL skit where William Shatner addressed a room full of Trekkies... IT'S A FRICKEN' GAME! The BoW guys are great guys and their purpose is to entertain and inform. I don't want to see them start over again- I want to see them progress so I can see some high level monsters! If they have to re-roll once in a while, so be it. I'd rather see things move forward. The presentation, the miniatures, the studio, and the camera edits are awesome. Most importantly, the guys are having fun and sharing it with those of us that enjoy it. Start your own channel if you think you can do better. I'll stay subscribed to BoW. Keep it up guys!

Well said, and I feel the same way. I think BoW has gone above and beyond with this series, and it would more than likely be dead if they had to restart the campaign for any reason. People already whine about hunting lions repeatedly, how much more would they after campaign wipes which would force them to hunt even more lions? I think people need to give BoW the benefit of the doubt, and try to see it from their perspective as content creators trying to make entertaining videos for us

Chiming in with everyone to beg you to please continue this series. I started watching this after the first playthrough I watched ended with the total destruction on their settlement by LY 10. So many amazing monsters in such a crazy, Dark Souls kind of setting. Please play more!

We're probably not getting more Lantern Years because of all this talk about "cheating".
My God, tabletop community can get ridiculous. I don't care if they reroll, UA-cam is entertainment, if you think most of stuff you watch from news to games to documentaries are not edited in many ways (from making it easy for the viewer to understand to shady stuff) then you're being naive.
These guys have spent 20 hours+ to bring us these videos and I'm very thankful for that. It's actually thanks to their videos ONLY that I decided to pull the trigger on KDM. It wasn't just informative but also entertaining to watch you play.
So thanks for bringing us these videos, there are many of us love what you have done here and understand that sometimes rules have to be bent to make things better.
Some don't understand that they are watching videos that depend on gameplay going forward and complain.
are you guys done with this series? i personally love it im playing the years the same time as you guys are so i watch them after (no spoilers) and its so nice to see high quality kingdom death stuff. hopefully you comeback out when wave 3 is released!! looking forward to it

Seriously though, this has been so much fun to watch and has repeatedly left me tempted to spend hundreds of dollars on cardboard and plastic. My pragmatism has prevailed so far, but who knows what would happen if you returned to the series . . .

Rule lawyers out there might eventually awaken to the KDM connection - that this video series is more about the 'community' than the whims of the individual 'viewer'.

Is this series great?...yes, is it entertaining?...yes, if you dont like it jog on. As a veteran kdm fan I appreciate the difficulty in running this series, the settlement could've been wiped out early, would that have been good?...no. Best characters lost at crucial stages means a slow arduous grind to ultimate death...that's not fun to watch, let alone play-although I play like that-you never know what will happen with kdm but for a series to rely on that would be crappy. The fight against the hand was a little disappointing but mistakes happen, there's so much going on I generally overlook at least one thing a game but it all evens out. Totally get the decisions they've made, and having looked enviously at times at the progress they've made I'm still good.
I'm sure it could've been handled better with an explanation in the series. But everyone losing their marbles is an overreaction. Maybe now you've reached a decent age on the game maybe seeing some kdm dice brutality would be welcome.
Such a shame they just ended this playthrough, it was at its time and still is one of the best if not the best KDM video logs out there.
I didn't really notice the cheating everyone is talking about, but I recall seeing something I thought was odd when it came to the AI deck, I think the trap was drawn and they redid it? I don't know. All I know is that I've played KDM and we were almost TPK'd by the Butcher and then we were TPK'd by the Kingsman. It sucked. It sucked a LOT. And it's also a big board game with a lot of RNG and isn't fun to constantly get out and put up for your gaming sessions, ESPECIALLY after you lose. So, no, you guy's do you and I'll keep watching. BTW, to Chris, have you used Slenderman? and if you have, what's your opinion?

Just recently watched on days off first 13 Years of the Gameplay, on 14 I was like I wonder how far it goes....sad that it stops at 15 as I was really digging this series as I am going to be starting this game hopefully in the next year or so.
Oh well I still enjoyed the series if this series does pick back up let me know as I will instant watch it all.

Your passion and enthusiasm shine out, totally understand your logic for the edits and in my opinion it does not diminish the experience at all. I’m now looking forward to my groups Hand fight, all thanks to your guidance.

Question (and this not a critic to this let's play) is there a way to reduce the grinding of lions/antilopes- through expansions, or a custom campaign? 30 lantern years its a lot, at some you will start to hunt phoenix but i wonder if the game have something to balance this grind. Thanks, awesome playthrough, very entertainment.
Gorm helps early game, gives you more variety to the hunt. A second expansion monster for later in the game, like the dung beetle knight, is also good. If you want to pick up only a few things, those two are the ones I would suggest to give more variety to the game (barring the unreleased ones that are coming with next year, hard to guess on those).
The other expansions are also cool, but the hunts are not as repeatable as those two so they don't break up the grind as much.
For more playthroughs you could also go for the dragon or sunstalker since they add alternate campaigns with different settlement rules, but you probably still want the extra huntable monsters first.
Any intention to return to this game with the 1.6 changes and/or when the Gambler's Chest comes out?

I love this series and I cant wait for the next episode. If you decide to start over or continue as is. Its fun to watch. Idc about cheating as Ive never played before so I don't even know any different. Cant wait for my own copy of the game to arrive
such a pity this fell apart, probably diving into the dung beetle before the team were near ready (should have done that as a separate non-campaign showdown if you wanted to show off the new monster) it really put pressure on the campaign and forced a few dodgy decisions, it's done now and can't see it ever being resurrected after all that. If people want a KDM campaign fix check out "meet me at the table" - loving that solo campaign, all 50+ videos

@@ChrisHandley_dr_ether I've watched these all originally and came back recently. I've dove back into the game again myself and my god I'm getting brutally punished by settlement events 😅. I appreciate how well you walked them through the process, it made refreshing the rules easier as a returning player.
People get too mad. This is the best KD:M series. Your enthusiasm about the game is apparent and I have a much better handle on how to play which is the original point of the series. I appreciate you taking the time to make the videos and I hope the negativity doesn't stop that happening. So much happens in this game I think it would be impossible to miss things anyway. Keep up the videos. Thanks.

You could well be right! I know we took a huge beating when I was in one in this last set of lantern years, it's in fact what prompted a discussion of where does the show go in the case of the shit hitting the fan, you would be left with 80% of the show being battles with a level 2 goat or lion. (in fact to try and give the settlement enough robustness to get the show through half a dozen bosses we would probably have to double or triple the number of easy hunts to try and build in the redundancy the settlement would need.
The pains of trying to demo a long and very hard linked campaign.

I watched the vlog and saw the reason they gave for fudging dice rolls. Is that all they did?
In the video they draw a settlement event that does not allow them to build the blacksmith. They even talk about how it sucks they cant build a blacksmith. Not even five minutes later they then build the blacksmith? Was there also a edit were they did a new settlement event? Otherwise this entire settlement phase is cheating as well.

A lot of people have been talking about and being upset with you guys for cheating. I understand the need to fudge some rules because when it comes down to it fun and viewer entertainment > following the rules, at least in my opinion. It'd probably be best for you guys to have it stated somewhere, or say ahead of time that if the dice gods are cruel to your civilization, you're just going to house rule it to not completely screw over your game. Been watching every episode of the series so far, keep it up guys! (more frequency in vids for this series would also be awesome)
Yeah there is a little disconnect that unfortunately gets highlighted when mistakes like that slip through.
For a viewer they watch a game and story unfold... So to them it's a game being played.
Behind the scenes in production the reality is quite different the presenters are there to try and steer things to create compelling content.
So all the inbetween plans of how we can try to steer towards a boss battle as quickly as possible, all the camera rigging and audio checks all the stuff that shows folk are actually at 'work' to create content and are not just buddies playing a game are 'supposed' to be expertly hidden lol
So the reality is it actually takes about 6 times the length of an episode to film and post produce 'some dudes playing a game'.
That's just how content production works especially on somthing as complicated as a linked series like KDM (the only one we produce in this format)

Joke /care tbh, love this series and judging by the amount of rules (based on all the conversation concerning them) there's no way anyone except the most hardcore rule-jockeys would be able to get this far whilst adhering to all of them whilst grinding the lower levels of characters into oblivion.
Perhaps that's fun @home but not on the youtube.

huh...so you have been cheating...
definitely takes away all the fun of the game, as well as the fun of getting actual good dice rolls. sure, the game is tough, but you're supposed to be doing this as an actual playthrough, not edited to look like everything is going right for you. if you're going to do that, you might as well just show everyone the game and then not play it. your viewers can't relate to you playing the game if you're just going to fudge everything in your favor. pretty sure we'd appreciate you more for your honesty and the game more for its insane difficulty if you didn't fake it
Perhaps
it opens a couple of possibilities though. As you know KDM requires quite a grind to progress. And I have witnessed two total party kills myself and after the second I did say to the team that you could very quickly find a series end where we have spent almost all of it fighting lions and goats.
So the alternative is treat every encounter as stand alone and start with a pre configured settlement to take on bosses.
This is not ideal as you miss the mechanics of developing the settlement itself.
So no easy answer there. :)

and if that were how it was going to be played, then that would be fine, but that kind of information needs to be said upfront. perhaps i missed it. from what i could tell, the series had been a playthrough rather than a demonstration of how things worked. i mean, they're in lantern year 15, it's past the point of just a demo. idk, it just feels sketchy to falsify something like playing a board game just to appear to be doing better than you are, ya know? makes the game look less fun and hurts people like me who are watching because $400+ for the base game just plain isn't going to happen any time soon, if ever. it's just unnecessary disappointment.

You are right is past a demo of mechanics now, what we are trying to do now is generally show how the settlements and bosses start to develop.
It's hard to do that if we have to start over multiple times :)
and as I said it leaves us just doing single unconnected play throughs from fixed pre determined starting positions. (personally I don't thinks it's an ideal option)
So there is no easy answer I'm afraid, at least not one staring me in the face lol
