    Suggestion: What if Sansa Stark went with the Hound to Winterfell?

    • @eddiegodat8263
      @eddiegodat8263 7 років тому +16

      this would be a good what if. if she had, Sansa wouldnt have married Tyrion. Sansa would have been reunited with Arya. Arya probably would not have went to Bravos. Sansa would have grown closer to Sandor, possibly fell in love with him. He for sure had a thing for her.

    • @banananutbreadable
      @banananutbreadable 7 років тому +7

      He did this one, but the most likely scenario would have been their capture and Sansa's prompt return to kings landing. One man abandoning the war is one thing. But if he's taking a person of interest who is as identifiable as Sansa, it wouldn't go as easily.

    All non book readers may hate this but Sansa never marries Ramsey and Theon still gets away. And Sansa in the books doesn't motivate Jon but the thought that Arya is at Winterfell is going to make him act. Sansa is important but not that much of a lynchpin, books or show. Jon was destined to take out Ramsey and to find a purpose. Sansa is destined to be a ruler in the North whether she tells on Little finger or not. Telling on him would get him killed and bring about her exposure to the Lannisters. So she would have to deal with that danger.

    I seriously want to see a video about Baelor Hightower not farting in front of Elia Martell. Basically if he doesn't do that, Oberyn doesn't make fun of him, and Elia ends up marrying him, essentially preventing Robert's Rebellion.

      OganessonOG Rhaegar still took Lyanna, but, the likelihood then is that Rhaegar would’ve married Cersei instead of Elia. If he did that, then during the war, Tywin would’ve immediately supported the Targaryens instead of later aiding Robert Baratheon. With Tywin’s aid, it’s likely that the Targaryens would have won the war, Robert would have died, Aerys probably would’ve died or been removed from power, and Rhaegar would still sit the throne.
      In short: One fart changed the entire fate of Westeros.

      Garlan Tyrell oh good one Ild say on her way out of kings landing Joffrey either tries to do something terrible to stop them that starts a fight or Tywin and Cerci attempt to kill them on their way back to high garden since Tywin was against this. Either way the Lannisters and Tyrell's would be at each other's throats. Would the purple wedding have still happened?

    • @Emperorofthemoon1
      @Emperorofthemoon1 7 років тому +2

      kaledov I don't think that Tywin would have killed them or anything. The reach was supplying so many soldiers and food crops to the Lannisters that Tywin would take one for the team and just be satisfied with Margery and Joffrey. Of course, Sanaa's whole story line is changed completely. Instead of being raped, she probably doesn't have sex at all due to Loras' homosexuality. She would live in relative comfort at Highgarden, surrounded by allies. Joffrey would still die, and Margery would still marry Tommen. Maybe Tyrion wouldn't be blamed? Either way, Loras wouldn't be in Kings Landing during the whole Faith Militant uprising, so he and the rest of the Tyrells would be alive, so Olenna wouldn't ally with Daenerys. This means that Highgarden isn't attacked by the Lannisters, Cersei is still in debt to the Iron Bank, and Dany's invasion is crushed, or isn't at full strength, since the Redwyne's fleet won't be there to ferry her Dothraki across to Westeros. MAYBE (big maybe) she persuades the Tyrells to help take back Winterfell from the Boltons after hearing Jon is alive again (that's a stretch, but it could happen). The Sand Snakes are crushed as Tyrell and Lannister armies take Sunspear, and Euron's fleet could easily blockade Dragonstone. And if Qyburn still builds his scorpion (and makes more than one) they could kill Dany's dragons. Now she is finished, Dorne is finished, MAYBE Jon snow retakes winterfell, MAYBE littlefinger doesn't die after killing Lysa, but he probably will since Sansa isn't there to back him up.

    Little finger sealed his fate by revealing his grand master plan to Sansa.
    Sansa is NOW totally against LF and is completely pro-Jon.
    Sansa know LF and his control of Robyn.. She was considering marrying her COUSIN to secure the Vale. She doesn't need to do this now as the Lords of the Vale have declared for Jon Snow ... the bastard son of Ned Stark.
    Bran was at the Wall before before Daeny sailed to Westeros and was heading hoome.
    Arya was at the Twins and heading home.
    Mel -- who brought back Jon from the DEAD -- is heading South.
    The Hound & Brotherhood are heading North to fight the WW ... and Beric has not giving up his life YET for the Lady of Winterfell.
    Jon was made King of the North because he is Ned Starks son.
    Jon & Sansa are cousins.
    Little Finger is not happy with Jon being the King.
    Hmmm? What will he try to do?
    Easy.
    Ban arrives at Winterfell to tell Jon and Sansa that they are COUSINS.
    Sansa will try to arrange a marriage Robyn & Lady Lyanna or an Umber/Karstark to take control away LF.
    Out of desperation, LF will accidentally kill Sansa when he was after Jon. LF flees.
    Jon is distraught wth Sansa's death and discovers his true feelings for her. He has no Mel to bring her back from the dead.
    Arya arrives at Winterfell with Beric and the Brotherhood etc. They know from Mel that Jon was brought back from the Dead and is the chosen one. Beric gives up his life to bring back Sansa from the dead.
    Arya pursues LF and kills him.
    Jon marries his COUSIN Sansa to remain the King of the North. Both Jon and Sansa have been brought back from death.
    It's not a matter of WHAT IF with Sansa. She knows his plans and what he's willing to do to achieve it. Sansa will be seeking to take LF out of the game and in doing so we get LADY STONEHEART and JONSA .... and she becomes a Queen.

      I think Sansa likes Littlefinger, but is actively fighting it. I really don't think she buys into his BS. I think she's learned the game a little and is understanding that Baelish knew exactly what he did to her by giving her to Ramsay. I know he said he didn't know what Ramsay was...but I don't believe that FOR ONE MINUTE.
      Baelish is the 2nd most connected dude in the series, and arguably the smartest of them all. You're telling me he's never heard a thing about the insanity of The Bastard of Bolton? I'm calling massive BS on that.

      However he does want to end up with Sansa and I don't think he would put her in danger...

      Yeah, I just don't believe for one second that Baelish didn't know anything. I just refuse to believe that he doesn't know anything about one of the sickest dudes in Westeros (who isn't incredibly smart about his sickening delights).
      I think Baelish made a calculated risk. He knows the Boltons need Sansa to hold the North so no real harm would come to her.
      I hope so as well! Sansa isn't gonna be screwed I think

    • @masterpizi
      @masterpizi 7 років тому +1

      There's evidence that Baelish knew more of ROOSE'S sadistic nature than Ramsay's and was over-confident betrothing her to the younger and newly legitimized Bolton, thinking it was the "safer" choice. Ramsay, being a bastard and all, wasn't gossiped about to the extent that a Lord would be so his "background check" generalized his personality and painted him as an ass-kissing daddy's boy. Baelish grossly underestimated the damage that kind of inadequacy can wreak on a man's ego and the backlash it can generate. And before he left Sansa to marry Ramsay he assured her that Ramsay (and Roose) wouldn't be living long enough for any of it to matter anyhow. Baelish's plan counted on the Boltons either surrendering Winterfell or dying in battle with Stannis. He never gave the unfortunate possibility of Stannis losing and the Boltons staying put any thought. It was THAT miscalculation combined with his misjudgment of Ramsays character (due to a hasty and incomplete vetting) that led to Sansa's horrible circumstances. Baelish was, however, willing to die at her hand to apologize for his mistake. She was wise and kind to spare him his life - she clearly can read a sincere apology better than the viewers have been able. LOL (Even interviews with Aidan Gillen include admissions of Baelish's ignorance about Ramsay and sincere remorse over the arranged marriage. I wish the fans would accept this!)

    Yeah, not much changes since by that point in the show/books, he's already laid out most of the groundwork for his plans, and is just sitting back and watching the pieces fall into place. The bigger what if re: Littlefinger would be "What if Catelyn let Brandon Stark kill him during their duel?" (the short answer is, everyone lives happily ever after except viewers, who have no story to consume... Even though you said that you don't see a big change in the story, I think one big one is Sansa not being too quick to take over Winterfell, even though it was her home. Her not marrying Ramsay would mean that there's no urgency to get the Ramsays out of there for her. That would mean that Jon goes South and who knows when we'll ever see him again. Also, this would probably mean that Sansa would have married Lysa's son and been holed up at the Vale. Not only that, but she doesn't learn how to play the game as well as she does now. She was Littlefinger's protege and her not learning from him means that she loses a lot of helpful knowledge.
    Jon going South also means the White Walker threat is not dealt with, too, because he doesn't give a crap and if he's key to defeating them then Westeros is screwed.

    You forgot that Little Finger rats out Cersei to Lady Olenna in episode season 5, episode 7. Lancel is the gift from Little Finger to Lady Olenna. He is the one that is responsible for giving Cersei to the High Sparrow. It is not spelled out, but it is implicated in their conversation. So that means Cersei doesn't do the walk of shame and she probably doesn't get so bitter as to wipe out a lot of important people in the destruction of the Great Sept of Baelor.
    Now I think of it, Little Finger is also probably the one that gave Olyvar to Cersei, who was instrumental in ratting out Loras to the High Sparrow, which means that both Loras and Margaery fall in his hands. Which in turn led to the conversion of Tommen.
    In conclusion, if Sansa tells on Little Finger probably a lot of important people still get to live.

  • @IceAlvaro13

    I think that, in this situation, Sansa and Robin Arryn will get married later or soon...Sansa would probably have looked for Jon with the help of Robin and Yohn Royce, since Jon would not have remained on the Wall, because he wanted to leave the Night's Watch, and Sansa would still worry about him if she knew what happened to him on the Wall and probably would seek him to take him to the Vale with her, with or without an attack on Ramsay, and it is possible that then everything had gone similar, only that the attack on Ramsay would come from the south and not from the north, or perhaps from both sides if Jon manages to convince the Free Folk to attack From the north, and here you would have Jon being king in the north and Sansa being the Queen Consort of the Valley for his marriage to Robin.

  • @johnpotts8308

    I get this is show Canon rather than Book Canon, but I imagine if Sansa doesn't go to Winterfell, Littlefinger would have arranged for Fake Arya (Jeyne Poole in the Books) to go instead. Sansa would definitely care if she was Ramsay's victim (she was her friend) and if Jon hears that "Arya" had been forcibly wed to Ramsay, he would absolutely act to rescue her. So not a lot changes.

    People always assume that lysa killed Jon arryn just because littlefinger asked her to. In reality, littlefinger manipulated Robert and Jon arryn to send little Robin to foster with either tywin Lannister or Stannis. Lysa obviously was not cool with that and Peter gave her the tears of lys. TheBattProductions You missed an important point. Rickon, he would never have been sent to Ramsay as a hostage. At least not as the show established his fate. The whole point of the Umbers bringing Rickon to Ramsay was because he then had legetimate claim to Winterfell by marrying Sansa. So as the new Lord of the North the Umbers pledge their loyal to him. Without Sansa marrying him they have no reason to give Ramsay Rickon. Instead the Umbers would send a raven to the Vale to talk to Sansa about her brother and the suppose threat of the wildings. The Umbers would probably even force Sansa and through her the Vale to attack Winterfell and then commit the army north to supposively fight Jon and the wilding army under threat handing Rickon over to the Bolton's. That if they don't force her to attack Jon first before she has a chance to take Winterfell. This would change greatly the relationship between Jon and Sansa. Both torn about fighting each other to save Rickon.

    • @elmojon19
      @elmojon19 7 років тому

      TheBattProductions Oh and she would have to deal with King's Landing herself since Littlefinger was working with the Lannisters. If Sansa had Littlefinger killed Tommen or later Cersie post Mad Queen would sent the Lannister forces to the Vale to kill her and Sweet Robin. Since Cersie becoming queen came at the end of season 6. Had Sansa with the Vale army attacked Winterfell and took it by then. She now has to deal with Cersie and the Lannister forces. That would no doubt bring attacks in both the North and the Vale. The Freys would commit their own forces to join the Lannisters. This would help the Tully forces and Edmure but not by much. The only good the fighting up North would do is distract and occupy Cersie and her allies long enough for Dany and her allies to a attack a less defended King's Landing. Cersie would be strategically at a disadvantage by that point. Fighting a war on three fronts, from the south, the North and the sea off of Blackwater bay. So much warfare though would leave Westeros weaken to muster enough forces to fight the White Walker army. Although they would probably be in better shape than the show version. Jon if everything goes well with him will have no problem unifying all of Westeros to the Others if he only has Dany as Queen to convince.

    I think once Sansa tells & gets Littlefinger killed for killing her aunt, because all his schemes would come to an end, I see Sansa would have been taken back to the Lannisters. They would still see her escape as evidence of her having something to do with Jeoffery's death & killed her, most likely. I don't see how people would continue to not see who she really was without Littlefinger's protection, and the Vale was (at that point) aligned in service with the throne.

    • @TheBattProductions
      @TheBattProductions  7 років тому +1

      Hey RoseMarie!
      I doubt she'd be sent back to the Lannisters. The Vale absolutely hates the Lannisters and Sansa is related to their former Lady, after all.

    • @1TrueGem
      @1TrueGem 7 років тому

      TheBattProductions ... I think they absolutely would send her back. Without LF taking the Vale's allegiance away from the throne to back the post-rapped Sansa.... the Vale was not sending their men away to fight, but they were thought to be aligned with Cersi's throne control. Those may be considered Northern men (that Robin is left surrounded by) but they did not ride to aide Rob, & barely were helpful in any manner to Catelyn in the past. Robin would remember his mother's crazy rants & decisions some... & those men wouldn't setup a naive kid that lords over them on the Lannisters chopping block so they send Sansa back, in defense of the Vale (which they put above the North brother-ly-ness

  • @MyWill28

    Had Sansa told the truth here, the combination of events would not have happened where she made it to Castle Black with Brienne just at the moment when John was resurrected and had suffered a serious lack of morale due to being betrayed by his own men. This would have meant that John would have left the Night's Watch and abandoned all the effort he had made previously with regards to the War for the Dawn. Sansa was that person that convinced John to stay and fight the Winterfell battle. I do not know if John is the hero that was promised, but it is indisputable that his leadership is what has kept together the effort to thwart the Great Others. Thus, it can be said that by a stretch, the fate of humanity hinged on Sansa's decision here for just a brief moment. If Sansa tells, she does not meet John at that moment. If she does not re-motivate John at that moment, the Others have won since John is the person who most cares about stopping their advance into the realm of the living.

    I'm super late to the party on this but I think Rickon could have been a much bigger bargaining chip in this scenario. If he was still handed over to the Boltons and word had gotten out that Sansa was at The Vale, I could see Roose inviting her to Winterfell. He could have proposed her marrying Ramsey in exchange for her brother's safety. It's unlikely they would let him go, as any free Stark in the North would be a threat, but a child with Stark blood and a Bolton name would be a political windfall. A rescue mission for their brother could unite Jon and Sansa and spark them taking back Winterfell - Rickon's survival would mostly depend on whether Roose was still alive or not, though.

  • @stanklepoot

      Quite possible. It was Littlefinger that approached Sansa about the Knights of the Vale, after all. My point was simply that if she did try to get the Vale's help, she probably wouldn't have needed Littlefinger. Would have helped, I'm sure, but not a requirement.

    My opinion: Littlefinger would have been excecuted, Sansa would have married Robin as promised by Lysa (or at least she would have been bethroded), she would have convinced the knights of the vale to fight for her and she would have helped stannis take winterfell (with the northmen), melisandre would not be at castle black to resurrect jon unless they had gone to the wall to see him and melisandre would have been convinced to resurrect him, ramsay wouldn't have married sansa and the boltons would be all dead (maybe not walda and the baby), theon would probably have been excecuted by stannis (or burned 😟), yara would have escaped anyway because I think it was both their idea, the baratheons the starks and the knights of the vale would have helped the blackfish keep riverrun and killed walder frey, rickon would still be alive and would be lord of winterfell, edmure would be lord of riverrun, the umbers would remain loyal to the starks but not the karstarks which I expect would be dead too, stannis would have taken the iron throne after tommen's death, cersei would have been excecuted…and the rest is to see

    This is really intriguing! (You know Sansa is my girl so I love any Sansa related videos you make).. I love the fact that you make the distinction that Jon probably wouldn't have fought for Winterfell bc it's true, look I love my Jon but he probably would have gone south like he planned..
    I mean their conversation was basically
    Jon: Winterfell No
    Sansa: Winterfell YES
    Jon: Winterfell yes
    So maybe that would change and my girl wouldn't have gone through what she went through w/ Ramsay but maybe they would have played it like in the book and included Jeyne Poole as the Fake Arya and Theon would have still escaped..
    I love the idea of LF dying I really do but I'm glad it will be at the hands of a Stark rather than an Arryn you know? Because his actions started the downfall of House Stark and I really want either Sansa or Jon to kill him... (Sansa for obvious reasons) and Jon because well dramatic irony bc I have no doubt in my mind that Sansa will side with Jon in whatever LF is planning (I saw the look in the finale as more worry about LF than anger at Jon) so it would be LF loosing Catelyn 2.0 to Ned 2.0 (in LF's mind at least) and i really enjoy that thought...

    The Starks still would have retaken Winterfell but it would have been differently.
    Without Sansa in the Boltens grasp the North still would have been divided by the time she gained control of the Erye. The fake Arya plot may still happen but I'm not sure about that one. However with the news of the Wildling army the North maybe would have rallied together to destroy the Wildlings once and for all.
    Anyway without Sansa at the wall Jon would have left the Nights Watch a free man. While traveling with Davos and The Red Woman he would have learned about Sansa being in the Erye. Now maybe the Wildlings follow him or maybe not. If they do I think Jon would have fought against Ramsay and the Sansa sends the Vale army and saves him. He wouldn't have been crowned King in the North but Winterfell would have someone with Stark blood living there. The Wildlings would be safe and Sansa and Jon would have had an awesome reunion.
    Now without the Wildlings following Jon, the North would kill them all because they would have stayed in one place as they tried to treat their wounded and sick. Jon would have made it to the Vale alive but most likely would be seen as a traitor of the Nights Watch and Sansa might have sentinced him to die unless The Red Woman can demenstraite her abilities in some way. To show that Jon did in fact get revived. With Sansa in now ruling the Vale she probably would have sent Jon with the Vale Army to retake Winterfell. Still no King of the North status as he didn't go around and meet with the houses asking for their help. But the North would no longer be under Bolten rule. Sadly though the Wildlings would still be dead and that would make it iffy on if Jon would be accepted at Winterfell for him allowing the Wildlings into Westeros at all. All his warnings about what's behind the Wall may not be taken seriously and then the North would eventually be the first to fall. Unless Bran can get there in time with proof.

    Don't forget that Littlefinger had killed Lysa Arryn right after she tried to kill Sansa. I think Sansa would have pushed Jon to take back Winterfell, regardless of whether she had married Ramsay or not. I find it rather offensive that the only way Sansa could be strong was experience rape at the hands of Ramsay.

    I know I'm late with this. I was watching this, and I noticed that you missed the part that Arya and The Hound arrived at the Vale the day after Sansa left with Little Finger. Arya may not have gone to Essos to be a Faceless Man at this point. The Hound may have been there to help with the Battle of Winterfell. Or maybe I'm wrong

    What if Arya killed LF on Sansa's order? Omg! That did happen!!

    Basically the worst storyline doesn’t happen.
    As for what happens to Ramsay, hey about they use Sansa best friend Jeyne Poole and disguise her as a fake Arya and she eventually inspires Reek to be Theon again.
    It’s almost like they is a version of this story that isn’t horrible and D&D pissed it away.

    how do you completley ignore the issue of Rickon, if Rickon lives (and Ramsey isn't as angry about Sansa escaping and may not have pulled the same stunt on the battlefield etc) then Rickon is King in the north and needs a Regent

    Q: What would happen is Sansa told on LF? A: I would beat the stuffing out of her for betraying my boo :-D J/K I'm sure LF was prepared for her to tell the truth, if he didn't have a contingency plan I would be shocked. IDK that Jon would have tried to take WF without Sansa there to push him either. Wow a whole lot of crap would have changed with that, I mean the Vale people might have married Sansa off pretty quickly, maybe to Robin....eeeeewwwwwww I just totally grossed myself out.

    Can you make a video about what might happen in the north with the wall and winterfell for the next book? Because I feel that could be really different for many reasons like Jon was robs heir and Jane pool was married to Ramsey acting as arya

      Absolutely, me too.
      I have tons of ideas of what may happen, but nothing I think that'll be out of left field. Left field would be like Stannis is a new commander of the White Walkers.

      +TheBattProductions yeah, and I want jon to be a targaryen but it just seems to obvious and we can't get a jon x Daenerys relationship, unless we want more insest babies like Joffrey

    • @TheBattProductions
      @TheBattProductions  7 років тому

      Prospect Jon is totally a Targaryen. I mean they basically confirmed it on the show.
      I think we're getting a Jon/Dany marriage. They're going to end up marrying but won't even know they're related most likely.

      I also think Dany has to die by the end as well, so marriage won't last long

    So I don't know if you're still watching over these "What if..." comments or not but I had a thought about one once I heard that Kit Harrington & some writers are putting together a Jon Snow post season 8 story...
    What if...season 8 can actually be SAVED? Hear me out...before I get shunned. What if Jon, while out beyond the wall living w/the free folk, comes to find out that the Bloodraven who's inhabiting Bran's body is the actual main villain? That the person in Bran's mind has manipulated the world into turning the people against one of its possible greatest defenders (Dany) & banishing one of its last great hopes at turning back the true Long Night back into the true North (Jon.) Bloodraven would have successfully divided the last of the Stark family & splintered the North from the rest of the kingdoms while massively depleting the population of the entire continent to the point where he may not be able to be defeated with the current state of Westeros. If they went with something along these lines as a story...where Jon had to become the true king he was born to be & finally accept his destiny I believe this could be an epic storyline.
    What do you think?

    • @TheBattProductions
      @TheBattProductions  Рік тому

      I am I am! Sometimes it's really difficult for me to answer them as in-depth since I don't always remember what I said in the video, hah.
      That's a really cool WHAT IF, truthfully. I like it. I mean the only pathway I see for a good Jon Snow story would be him finding WW/Bloodraven magic somewhere beyond the wall that allows him to tap into his warg abilities mentioned in the books. It'd be somewhat loyal to canon and be a legit avenue to go down for a story, so maybe fans would like it.
      Good scenario, Chris.
