There should be prehistory and traditions here since the times of the USSR . In Russia, in cities, the classic layout of apartment buildings, when there are several houses close to each other, forms what was called a yard (Dvor)in the USSR . There were formed companies of guys and girls who were friends and spent a lot of time together . Friends from the yard were traditionally much closer than friends from school. Although it was often that friends from school teamed up with friends from the yard . So there was a yard culture of playing the guitar , these were teenagers 13-14 years old, then young men 16-17 years old . This style of playing the guitar (boyish) passed into the army . If you can play the guitar and you have a good flow , as they say now , then everyone respects you, you are the center of attention. Songs can be different criminal , military , about love . These songs were called yard`s songs .Now there is almost no such culture left .
Now Russian yard teen music has been transformed into teen rap, , which is not widely recognized , but it also has something in it, as say in Russia "from the soul" or as say in the West "from the heart".

I have no Russian background or ancestors as far as I'm aware but I've always loved russia and there music. It just feels like it has a purpose compared to songs nowadays that talk about sex and money these Russian songs actually tell their own story and that's one of the reasons I love them.

There have been Russian soldiers killed but their bodies are not allowed to be transported home, they are buried in mass graves outside Rostov, and their families are not told where exactly their children have died. To minimize this, Russia has tried to use units from the east, such as Buryats, whenever intervention in the Donbas War is needed.

I love how even while the lyrics are different in all these songs, they all somehow sound somewhat the same.
Also, this is a request but could you do a translation of the song "Памяти Танкиста"? I've really wanted to know what the lyrics mean.
Best I can tell, these chords are the same as in "Don't tell mom I'm in Chechnya", and the singer sounds suspiciously similar.
@Joe Mama technically speaking, in the way they move their hands, they're a bit better than simple. Whoever the guitarist is is seasoned enough to know how to do little flourishes, if it's also the singer than it's even more impressive. Still pretty simple, but simple music played amazingly :)

Mozdok we passed through there, we were stationed in Crimea, marines we were. When war broke out we were sent to fight with tank brigades, after the first war we were told to work with artillery batteries and such, we loaded, fired, drove artillery. After the war only 100 out of the 1 500 of us survived. Our marine corps was dismantled. And I retired, until east ukraine but that’s a whole different story

1. "Я российский спецназ". "Российский", "россияне" как политкорректная замена "русский" начали форсить уже в нулевые и десятые годы 21 века. В 90-е это было ругательство и вызывало образ пьяного Ельцина с устойчивым выражением "Дорогие россияне" в телевизоре.
2. В строчках "Кричит кавказец..." и "...кричит кавказка мать" используют понятие "кавказец, кавказка" т.е. жители северокавказского региона РФ, вместо точного определения противников "чеченец" и "чеченка" , первая чеченская война шла в основном на территории Чечни и ассоциировалась только с Чечнёй, т.е. в этих строчках явное смягчение и подмена на более размытое и политкорректное определение. Негатив про Чеченскую республику начали убирать из СМИ только в нулевые после второй чеченской войны и сделали неприкосновенными(не подлежащими критике) только в 10-е годы.
