As a native russian with good english, who kinda had to dive deep into few different cultures I can say with full certainty, that there is almost NO difference between russians, europeans and americans. When you strip all meaningless bs you will see, that cutlures a very close, that there are same idiomas, adages, proverbs, beliefs.
Same people, same problems. Only thing that differs us - politics and politians, and literally none politian really cares about "expressing peoples will". It's easier to rule divided people, right?

For non-Russian speakers, in chorus when he says "For those places where the sky is roof, for the telegram: ‘I got married’” it means that he is in war and he recieves the telegram telling him that his girlfriend got married for another man. A bit hard to translate since verbs don't have genders in English and "вышла" is in female gender (in Russian).
I thought some people could misinterpret this so I wanted to make it clear.

Love how you showed the soldier actually playing and singing, I've always wanted to teach myself russian songs but never could find chords for them because I can't write in cyrillic and speak the language.

Cyrillic isn't too difficult. Just get a print out of the alphabet and compare it to some sentences. Before long, you should be able to read it reliably

My uncle served in Afghanistan along with his two childhood best friends. One of those two was badly wounded. He was able to be extracted back to Russia but eventually died in hospital. The other one survived the fighting but he didn't know how to live normally anymore. He became an alcoholic, and killed himself in a few years. My uncle survived without lasting injuries and is in good health. I'll drink to his two friends.

Russian war songs are the saddest out there. I've been on a binge of those over the last few days, even though I've never been in the army. I hate what the recent history has done to our area. I'm from Poland, I work with quite a bunch of people from across our eastern borders, Russians, Belarussians, Ukranians, from those that I know personally. All of them great people. The only reasons to hate each other we know have are politics, either present or past. Fuck that. Not only are we all humans, but we are the Slavic people. We used to worship the same gods and fear the same demons at night. We spoke the same language. Remember that, whenever you meet anyone from any Slavic country. We are all brothers and sisters from way back! From one Polish guy to all other Slavs and non-Slavs too, respect! Fuck, if we go back even further, we all worshipped the sun, the moon and giant rocks. Pozdravlyayu!

Was listening to russian army songs with my father and this came up, he gasped and asked me not to skip it. He then told me that when he was in Yugoslavia as a Blue Helmet (the un peacekeepers) he used to hear this song being sang by some men there. I think it brought back good and bad memories even tho he was only a peacekeeper he saw the horrors of war. He was just 25 i think.
I adore this song, great feel and emotion to it, could easily be transposed into a folk/punk composition. I literally can hear a driving bass pushing this song and giving it free expression of the vocals.

This channel has really helped kickstart my journey into learning Russian. I find myself pausing, reading the Cyrillic, and trying to see how close I get.
Some sort of words are so hard to read, especially when u have to sing them, and in some words they don't even say all letters in it. For example "так давайте ж выпьем за парней" He said "davay zh" and we couldn't hear "te" part.
I love the russian language, ive been trying off and on for awhile to learn. This guys song is a masterpiece.

The main reason for the enmity of our nations is that we are TOO similar to each other. Not only the concept of civilization, government, but ordinary people too. Russians and Americans are nations that lead other peoples into the future, and there is too little place for us on this earth.
Actually it does the Russians have been treated far worse than the US has. Also Americans have no idea of what it feels like to be invaded and bombed. the United States has not had to fight a enemy out of their country ever the rest of the countries have so the Americans had it easy during WW1 And WW2 prove to me I am Wrong.
