My Primary School in the UK had fire alarms similar to the Edwards system. Absolutely scared the living daylights out of me as a kid!! Made worse by the fact we had a Headteacher who was obsessed with making us repeat the drills because we either weren’t quick enough…or we weren’t quiet enough!! 😢😢
I like the old horns, they aren’t too loud and they kind of sound like music. The ones at my school aren’t Simplex or Edwards but they sound like this: 1:46

@@FourtyFiftyEighty my big issue with the whole grandfathered thing is since this an apartment complex strobes should be added for those with heating difficulties. If that fire alarm goes off in either building it can make all the noise it wants but if you can’t hear it, you won’t know what’s going on.
I don't think that strobes are always required. My elementary school replaced a horn strobe with a bell. My high school has a few integrity horn only's.
That’s rare to see old horns like that still used today they sound extremely healthy
I like how the Edwards horns are on boosters with sync protocols on lol
Ikr lol. Might even just been the panel nac doing the prot
thats how they were at my elementary school too lol
2:15 That alarm with a Simplex 2903 scared me to death when I was a little boy.
Do you mean 2901-9833?
@@That_2_guy2T Of Course. I've never thought of that.
the quote on quote edwards “adaptahorns”
Seeing how rare these edward horns are.
2:15 that one sounds EXTREMELY sick
FWR :(
System 1:
Simplex 2901-9838's
Simplex 2901-9833's
Simplex T-Bars
System 2:
EST Adaptahorn-style Horns
Edwards 270-SPO's
Fire lite BG-12
Now those edwards horns are extremely rare
my school has one
awesome video!! LOVE those edwards horns

FOS?
This is a certified twoplyboy moment
Now this is how you fire alarm: new addressable initiating devices with big old electromechanical horns.
2:15 is this horn a slightly different model
No, it just sounds weird.
Its raspy
I love those 9833 horns
3:46 sounds like the goat horn in minecraft
Is that Notifier filtered DC because most of the Simplex horns sound fine.
I believe it is well filtered. Also, the last one, is possibly how it's mounted. (look at the gap on the lower right )
I wonder if the second building was built with the Edwards horns or if the Edwards horns replaced the Simplex horns in the second building.
Those Edwards horns are pretty much 895s without the strobe
I think the model is 885b.

Why did you place pull station Fire-Lite
Can you Replace Mircom MS-401 or Edward Siga-270P
Gotta love machanical horns
I don't know why, but for some reason 3:48 cracks me up.

3:49 Alarms eating Taco Bell lol 😹
…
Thats literally what i said....
2:17 doesn’t sound healthy
A cat? that's a black cat 🐈⬛😺
Simplex is clearly better. Edwards needs to be replaced with a Simplex 4100ES.
Why
@@HenBasketFireAlarms because simplex is halal
If edwards didn't exist then simplex and Faraday wouldn't be able to copy
Both need to be replaced with a Fire-Lite MS-10UD or MS-9600UDLS if one of the system fails and it can't be fixed
@@joeycaridi3030 Fire lite sucks
that is loud
Bogiiii
Kinda one looks like my cat 😺
No strobes? That is an ADA violation tsk tsk tsk
This is grandfathering!
Wait tell you hear about there not being any notification in the actual apartments 😳
