Nothing will ever top these old Faraday mechanical horns. We gotta keep em alive!! I love the mixture of the 450D's in there too lol, On both my demo panels thats exactly what I got up. 4010 has My 6120 on it, 4008 has the 450D with the VALS strobe. Both march time ofc. Both of these horns together are an unbeatable combo lol. What a beautiful 4002 panel btw. Wish I had one
I think the 9806 actually sounds better in 90 BPM. I prefer to hear a good 9838 or clean 4903 in 120-beat march time over a high pitched vibratone. Cool system nonetheless!!!
So nice to see the old stuff still working. I’m guessing the panel was reprogrammed to do march 120. Retrofitted devices look kinda goofy though especially how they were mounted on the old light-plates. I’m also guessing the system is due for a major repair/upgrade because of the ground fault.
Ground faults are common even my system has had one. When I had it happen I isolated the zone and redid around 200ft of wire. The electrician who added pull stations back in 2003 was not careful as he put the wire into the pipes and some of the wire was damaged.
Yay! Same building on march time! My school fire alarm is Classic Simplex Bells + 4251-20 (located in my UA-cam shorts.) (march time fire alarm system so simplex 4002)
In my opinion, I think the installers should have used Gentex AVP plates with GMHs retrofitted on them to replace those 4050-80s. I just think it doesn’t look right retrofitting a newer device on an older strobe plate. But great test tho.
It's sad to see all those 4050-80s like that, hope they get saved if this system ever gets replaced. Also how loud was it in that gym being there appeared to be four horns?
Cool, but that broken Gms definitely needs to be written up and replaced because there’s no strobe and if someone was deaf, they could not see the strobe not only that, but there’s exposed wiring so It definitely needs to be replaced immediately #whatafirealarmfail big time and #notuptocode
This is a great system, but for any learners watching, it’s not being tested properly. Testing smoke detectors by using a magnet does NOT satisfy the NFPA 72 requirement. To functionally test a smoke detector, you must introduce particles into the chamber to simulate combustion. The accepted way to do so is to use an aerosol canned smoke that is UL-listed and not petroleum-based. Magnet testing as shown here just shorts the contacts. This is a cheap shortcut used by unqualified individuals/companies. That sets a very bad example.
In our jurisdiction using any UL listed method of testing is accepted. Since the magnet test was UL listed it works. It is true though that other places require smoke testing and in cases where magnet testing isn’t available we use smoke
@@FourtyFiftyEighty friendly challenge: show or cite me in NFPA 72 where it says magnet testing is an acceptable means for a functional test of a smoke detector.
@@FourtyFiftyEighty your “jurisdiction“ is not allowed to override NFPA regulations. The AHJ can enforce more stringent requirements, but are not able to allow less than what is required. I also assume that you have read the specifications and manufacturers instructions for Simplex detectors and are familiar with what those acceptable means for testing are for that type detector, correct?
I work as an assistant essentially and I do what I am told and that is the reason they gave me for why magnet testing is allowed. I’m not going to argue with my supervisor on how we do testing. I can ask again if you want but that is why it was done this way
My general rule of the thumb is if there’s a break rod I key and if not I pull. However I was really nervous and jumpy for this video cause it was the first test of the day and it was rare so I ended up keying more than I usually do

I love these vintage fire alarms and their March time!
4:01 my favorite horn
It reminds of an old telephone busy signal.
If there’s one thing that tickles my fancy, it’s definitely old Simplex mechanical horns doing March time!
wtf
@@Rat-AnimationsWhat?
I love this video
I love fire alarm
The Youngstown industrial and labor museum has the same exact system but with 2903's only. OSFA would love this!
Awesome 4002, I love the 2 bay models!
No you don’t Logan
It’s a 3 bay 🤓
I really love how they’re in March time I could see dancers dancing to these alarms
Do you pull the pull stations that don't have the glass rod and open those that have it instead of pulling them ?
My favorite thing about 120bpm on the 4002 is that it beeps in march time as well when the system is in alarm.

Was the school built in the early/mid 80s?
Nice seeing this place again!
Im looking forward to this. Marchtime is always the best.

I ordered one of those 2903s today actually i wanted one for a while

Also I like the gentex GHS Horn strobes in march time
Let’s gooooooooooo!!
0:29 , 3:51 that’s a weird but cool looking alarm
The 9806's and the GMS's are back.
3:20 it did pick up the flash
TGIF alarm
Is this the school that has at least one 4051 in the band room?
why is the 4050 80 strobes not working

not loud at all
The good old 2903's and gms
0:32 I’m sorry, is that an SHG on a 4050-80?
Its a GMH, aka the horn-only version of the GMS
@@bruh3120 No it's a GMS with the strobe unattached
@@bruh3120ah
any 4051s and those horns sounded good and abit raspy
There is a single 4051 on the system, along with a System Sensor MASS. Those alarms however, were not shown in this video.

If you wanna pay for the replacement go ahead. If the customer doesn’t want to pay for it we can’t replace it

How can they get away with that?
System has the original 4002. I would guess it stayed on March time, or it was put on March time specifically for this video.

As I said in our jurisdiction the fire Marshall approved magnet testing. This was what I was told when I was asked
