Actually, there is a hood prop notch at the rear(bottom when hood is upright) of hood to keep it well out of the way. Might be under insulation but it is visible on my Accord. Good video, all in all.
Change and clean ASAP. Mine broke while driving because of a leak on the steering pump, probably because of the age of the O-ring. Had it leaking for months until sufre you have up. My fault for that
If it is such a pain in the butt to take this belt off, why not to simply cut it and then pull it out easily. You are not gonna use this belt anywhere else anyway, aren't you?
Hey man does the 2.4 8th gen accord have 2 or 3 pulleys? Asking because I’m looking to swap to UR pulleys for this motor. I know there is an idler pulley and a crank pulley, but is there a cam pulley?
I was able to do this myself and it should have taken a lot less time than it did. The belt that AutoZone is selling for this car doesn't fit. Otherwise, this job with the right tools should take no more than 1 hour.
@@YoDIYVideos yes, I replaced the bando belt that was by the tensioner Mark loose and causing rattle noise. What I did was use a gear wrench serpentine tool kit with the 14mm socket. Attach it to the tensioner. Belt was routed on all pulley except the crankshaft balancer. Leaned heavily on the tool and pulled toward the front of the car and toward me. With my left hand pushed the belt over the balancer. With this belt , ac delco 5.1 mm, it was thicker even though it was longer than the bando 1750 mm versus 1745 for the bando, so I assisted the belt with a rubber trim tool over the crankshaft. I did this mainly as it was 32f and I was numb at the finger tips. Got it over slowly as the thicker belt was not as pliant as the thinner bando. Got it on, checked for overlap and then run the engine 5 minutes as per the instructions. It was good to go. I think if possible having the wrench as far away from the front of the car while attached to the tensioner bolt is the key. You need to really apply the force to release the whole tension off. That gives you the play in the belt, which is really minimal depending on the brand you buy, to get the belt on to the pulley. Post if you have more questions.
Wouldn’t you just use the tension bar on the pulley to loop the belt back up too into place, shouldn’t have to “work” it on, that’s damaging the belt before you even use it
There's a service position hole in the hood that you can insert the hood prop rod into to hold it nearly vertical.
This helped me right after changing out my power steering and water pump. Thanks.
Good work, how’s the water pump go? Haven’t had to do that uet
Dealer in Las Vegas charge $230
That’s so rip off!!! Thank you for the video sir.
This is a $50 job in San Antonio.

I don't think I clearly saw the tensioner pulley on this video!!! That was what I really needed to see.
It was tough to do one handed, if you see the diagram, you can’t miss it. Good luck with your belt change

Good work. Bummer on autozone. The stock oem was a tight fit.
Hoi I.m a 330 pounds gentleman y installed my self
Having a lot of problem getting the belt back on. In your video you said to route over 5. Is that not the tensioner itself?
Any luck? There’s a variety of ways to start and finish the belt and that way I showed in the video was easiest for me.

Thanks for the write up , glad you got it worked out
what is the name of the black bar that you use to remove the tension and be able to remove the strap and where can I buy it
Serpentine belt tool
@@YoDIYVideos thank you
serpentine belt tool at Harbor Freight Tools for $19.99
Can i cut off the belts?
You could but it’s under a tremendous amount of tension. I don’t recommend it
Do you have a part # for that belt?

Wtf was that
let's make a video and not show the actual work
