Was having electronic power steering issue … could not source the issue, change alternator and battery and it still was bad…changed belt, tensioner bracket and idler pulley and it’s perfect now 🙏🏾
Feel like I'm in this loop currently. Dropping voltage and car in limp mode. Had an alternator and battery can't find fix. I may look at belt and tensioner.
0:30 I have this issue after i change belt in my golf 4 tdi i notice vibration and it looks like in video Also i have notice noises and My steering look more hard idk why before was much easy turn
My problem started recently after putting on a new belt. OEM was bando, Japanese belt. But I put a Goodyear belt that cost half the price. It squeaks a little when cold and slips when hot and accelerating or starting car. It's a quick jump. It only slips when accelerating but once it picks up steam it doesn't slip at all.
Do I need to replace the tensioner assembly or just the parts that go to it? Trying to save money but if it’s necessary I’ll replace the entire assembly
Mine moves like the one in this video..also makes vibration and horrible noise...and also makes belt flap around even though belt has plenty of tension ..I thought it was compressor, then water pump and a few other things..just never had this issue on a car before...

A mechanic told me that since he was able to push the wheel back against the motor (from the round face of the wheel), this is a sign of a bad tensioner. Is this true?
since I'm replacing the belt, can I lubricate that tensioner pulley (not the belt of course) with some kind of lithium grease spray or something else? I'm not having any issue with noise or anythiing, just replacing the belt at 70k as its showing a bit of wear.
That is your lifters starting to go out man you’ll need a top end rebuild or swap the motor eventually use the Lucas brand to prolong it any further and don’t press on the gas hard let the truck warm up
my car is making is grinding/brushing noise and today I noticed its also started to make random clicking or nocking noise when lifting clutch or accelerating can some suggest me how to diagnose the issue?
Did you figure it out? I’m having the same issue even when parked. I’m gonna replace the belt and tensioner. Maybe the pulleys as well after further inspection.
ive changed the oil the car only has 88 thousand miles on it why does it have to knock for 2 seconds before the oil pressure builds up ? it didnt do this when it was new
look the car nocks for 2 seconds on start up is it because the oil goes completely back to the oil pan or is it tensioner symptoms no one will answer this question
Thicker oil is never the solution to anything. There are a lot of different things that could be causing your issue and the proper way to find out is to take it to a licensed mechanic for diagnostic. It's worth the money to pay for professional diagnosis because if you just listen to random strangers on the internet, you will end up spending more money anyway, as you'll be buying parts and wasting your time or someone else's time trying to do the repair yourself and doing it incorrectly, or replacing parts that haven't failed. Nobody here has seen or touched your car and there is simply no way we could tell you what's wrong with it. Anyone who claims to know the problem without seeing or hearing your car in person is not someone you should trust.
You didn't mention to much pressure on belt so belt breaks or water pump bearings fail like on chev cruze , this fault needs to be fixed , oh your ch ch is bs and your bs when not listening repair parts people you better fix your problem
So my poly bearings were greased up and the belt was replaced. I did not have a tensioner on me to do the replacement, but mechanic did have a belt. the noise is mostly gone, should i still invest in a new tensioner?
