That AV8 on the cover was owned by Bob Gorby for over 40 years here in Indiana. That photo was taken in front of Capital records building in California.
I had a contractor in the seventies in Wa. state that had number 383? of 550 "bubble back window" 409's. He told me the Beach Boys got numbers ONE through FOUR for the song "shuttem down 409". Vids and posters today call it the Bubble TOP Window. No, it's the rear window! I have no reason to not believe his story: he raced and that was his source for his car directly. He built a ranch house on one level, so he could drive the car into the living room: i.e. the house was built for the car. Tore the lug nuts off doing 1/4 mile!!! And yes, I rode in the car and saw the (cheap) brass plate on the dash, 1 of 550. Oddball number, but it is what it is.!!
Who noticed the shot @1:13 of "The Driver" and "The Mechanic" cruising the pit area from the Iconic Movie "Two Lane Blacktop?" Oh yeah, actress Laurie Bird was still with the boys at that point of the movie. RIP Denny! I really loved you man, and I hope that you and brother Carl are up there in Heaven watching over your beloved brother Brian...
Where are the "Bubble Back Window" 409's the Beach Boys got for writing the song??? Of 550 made, they got 1 through 4, according to my racing friend who showed me HIS 409 in his living room. He built a ranch house in Lynden , Wa. FOR the car: a brass plate is in the dash with the number, his being 383? I believe (late seventies, memory going). Today posters call these cars a "bubble TOP window" for some strange reason. It's a hardtop and the bubble BACK window is in the BACK!! I have no reason to not believe the guy, as he raced and that was his IN for getting his car.
@phillipwallace,. Everyone has done things they aren't proud of. It's a shame that he couldn't get help, or wouldn't. In January 1996 I made the decision for sobriety. I seen what it was doing to friends of mine. Help is only good to those that will take it. You cannot force anyone to do something they are not ready for. His situation was very sad.
It's just a video that shows cars like Dennis had and a picture of the Manson damaged car. What nice friends to have living in your house. They must have had things Dennis wanted.
@@daltonthomas901 Dennis also forked out a ton of money just paying for the entire Manson family to treat their STD's they kept giving back and forth to each other. So much for the 'free' love of the sixties.
The Beach Boys ….. How California used to be 😢. Thanks Fusion Kidd
The guy is a legend there should be way more people here I should not be the first one to pay homage to such a great man

2 lane Blacktop my favorite movie besides Christine
Nice video, but the question is, did Dennis Wilson still have these cars when he passed away? If not, who owns them today?
Of the videos on this channel i have watched Dennis has the coolest variety of cars so far.
It was so nice and thoughtful of Dennis' wife Karen Lamm to purchase the 35 Ford roadster with HIS money.
Pacific Ocean Blue is a brilliant album , please check it out.
Sure is I got my copy when it first came out still have that album
Who owned the 409 Chevy and the "Little Deuce Coup" Chevy 2?

It was his father who stuffed him up,turning to drinks, drugs, smoking, instead of getting his father sorted out,but that's life.
Alexa, play surfing music. OK, playing Beach Boys, Rediscover the Beach Boys!

Good judge of cars .Poor judge of character. The man drowned himself in a drunken folly. He was basically broke.

What a joke to put a toe bar on a Ferri to toe a boat trailer just the same to have Ferri breed horse to to a cart
And Dennis has been dead for how long now.... what good do those cars do him.
