I love the idea of diy since I can never settle on a moisturizer I'm happy with lol. However, I feel there are better ingredients to choose...essential oils are a risky move if you have acne prone (like me) or sensitive skin. I used kokum butter mixed with brewed matcha tea as the base. Then added colloidal oatmeal, tamamu oil, pure hyaluronic acid, and a few drops of bakuchiol. This concoction has been a God send, highly recommend it for anyone with acne prone skin who wants some anti aging benefits as well!

Im so curious about shea butter and sweet almond oil. Since it's so hard to find raw materials here in philippines so i decided to buy from BELO brand philippines. It'S a baby face and body lotion infused with cocoa butter, shea butter and sweet almond. First i was very skeptic in buying this since my skin is very oily and sensitive and sometimes combination. Im very surprised how it calm my bumps and relly controls the sebum. Im shook when it didn't make my skin oilier compare to other moisturizer. It also made in 100% natural ingredients and 0% harmful chemicals. Absolutely free from most common allergens ingredients .
Even it's not handmade formula but i must rate that SHEA BUTTER, ALMOND OIL, and COCOA BUTTER used in this video is so great for most sensitive, acne prone and oily skin. ❤❤

I had REALLY bad acne on my forehead and no pimples on my cheeks, then i only used a cleanser for my whole face and vitamine e oil for my cheeks (i have combo skin, so my cheeks are dry and my t zone is oily) then my acne cleared up. but i wasn't moisturizing my tzone. So i tried the oil moisturizer in this video because i wanted a natural moisturizer and my acne was back again and i also got some pimples on my cheeks because i was also using it on my cheeks :( so it didn't work 4 me. I initially liked that it gave me a shiny, moist skin but throughout the day, my face turned more dry. The acne was more painful, irritated, and red. I made a batch over six months ago just as she describes. It sits on my counter in a clear jar and is as good today as it was in the beginning. No preservatives needed. Melting point seems to be above room temp. I'm guessing that my bathroom is sometimes 80F and this is still a cream without any separation. I once even used hot water to turn it into an oil over the winter. It returned to a cream state overnight. Makes an outstanding moisturizer.

I’m in the process of making the Shea butter moisturiser, in your video you say to let it cool before adding the sweet almond oil and when you add the almond oil, your Shea butter is still runny. However when I let mine cool (even when it’s not even completely cool) it’s starts to go hard again. :(
Do you know why this is??

    • @LaiCSouza

I think vitamin E is a natural preservative. Anything with honey is also well preserved. Sugar, salt are also natural preservatives. But each product has an expiration date.
