Thank you so much for making this great content. I've been making your Tallo, coconut oil, olive oil soap and your tallow balm with olive and jojoba oils, both with sweet orange EO as I'm highly sensitive to fragrances and even some EOs including lavender sadly. I've been giving these away to friends and family and they are in love, as am I. It seems that my crow's feats lines are flattening out. My skin feels and looks amazing! I'm excited to try this new recipe.
Hi! I've been watching ur videos for a very long time and really love them very much. Now i forced myself to give a try to one of urs tallow balm recipes. But am confused about the measurements as I also want to use castor oil with it because of it countless benefits. So kindly help me to measure oils accurately. For one cup of tallow, 1/4 cup of sweet almond oil, 30 to 40 drops of lavender oil, how much castor oil should i use? kindly tell in tablespoons. Is adding 2 tablespoons of castor oil a good idea or not? Anxiously waiting for ur kind reply.
Hi, I am a new subscriber to your channel, love the way you preformed everything in this video! I have sensitive skin especially on the face so I am considering in making my own skincare moisturizer cleanser. Would it be ok to mix together any of the essential oils you used?

How to make this recipe without tallow? Can I use shea butter instead of tallow? I’m a vegan and I would like to make something vegan? I like your recipe.
Hi Marissa, enjoyed this video a lot. Thank you for making tallow my everday routine. I watched all your videos about tallow and made my own lip balm, natural deodorant and facial cream. Unfortunately I can't get 100% grass fed tallow, do you think the ordinary one will still do the job? By the way I use the tallow that surrounds the belly, not the one attached to the meat.Thanx in advance
Thank you, I'm so glad! Yes, you can use non 100% grass fed tallow, and it will still have some very good benefits, just not quite as high amounts of the nutrients. Yes, the fat that is in the belly is the best 😊
Hi Marissa, in the above recipe can magnesium be added? and if so, how much would you recommend? I just love your recipes and channel. Keep up the good work.
I was able to get some beef fat to render but it is definitely not the good leaf fat… still trying to get rid of the burger smell, but wondered if I would use less liquid oil as it seems very soft at room temperature?
I would like to try a tallow face cream but I can’t find it anywhere, so I’d have to make it myself. The problem is that I can’t find tallow either. I can only find lard. Would it be the same with lard?
Thank you for this. I've bought a bunch of stuff from your store and love the products especially the soap bars. I'm making some face cream right now but I'll leave the rest to you. I love the lemon chap stick sample I got and will definitely be getting more.
Marissa, thank you for this amazing recipe! I used tallow, infused jojoba Oil, Geranium EO, Rosemary EO, and Carrot Seed EO. I must say that it smells AMAZING!! I must ask... does it need to be refrigerated?
I finally subscribed! Sorry about that, I have watch a few of your videos and just realized I didn’t sub. Great videos you are very easy to listen too. I just started using sheep tallow and hopefully will have lanolin soon as well.
Not alot of info on how this could be used to help acne. It's so rich that its seems like it could cause breakouts. Do you have some additives that you could add to this recipe to address problematic skin? Otherwise it looks Amazing:)
It seems funny at first, but tallow actually contains a lot of nutrients that help heal and prevent acne. (Personal experience here, as well as hearing from so many others!) It's antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and provides everything to heal and rebuild skin. The key is to not use too much, a little goes a long ways!
This is my first time making it myself but it’s super soft like a soft whip cream kind of, but how do I make it thicker? Or is it maybe because it’s at room temp store and is too warm?? Help me please!!! Lol I I mixed jojoba oil but maybe I added too much oil? Or is this normal??
What are the two oils you used carrot oil but what was the other Carrier oil ? And where do I get your essential oils thank you I love learning from you
Hi Merissa I found your channel and I also Make saop with tallow. Your videos are very simple te follow and like it. Ky question to you is can I put coconut oil in the moisturizer with tallow?
I bought tallow that was already rendered/cleaned (not sure the right word lol but its not the fat that I had to break down myself) from a local butcher. I melted it down in a big pot, added lots of water and some salt and simmered it for an hour. Put it in the fridge to allow it to harder, removed the impurities from the bottom and repeated the process 3 times. The tallow is very white and clean looking but still has a faint smell. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? Also I love your channel! Been binge watching for days! ❤️ thanks for all the great info!
Thanks! My particular skin doesn't need anything on those days. I'm sure that will change over time, though! Everybody is different, so you have to see what works for you :)
Yes. Here's the directions: Melt tallow until liquid. Add liquid oil and stir to combine. Allow mixture to chill in freezer until just barely solidified, not liquid and soft enough to easily whip. Whip with hand mixer until fluffy. Add essential oils and whip to combine. Store in a glass jar.
Hi! This has nothing to do with the vídeo, but i just wanted to ask. I have been using body cream for my face my whole life. Is it bad for your skin to use body cream in the face? Ty!!
Our face skin has very different needs than the rest of the body. I wouldn't recommend you to use the same except the one you use for the body is organic and very very gentle.
Tallow is very shelf stable at room temperature. As long as there is no water in tallow and it doesn't get contaminated, the shelf life is around 6 months to a year or longer. If you want to store it longer yet, or just want to be on the safe side, I recommend keeping it in the fridge or freezer. It will last months in the fridge and forever in the freezer. The same for tallow balm. Hope this helps!
What am I doing wrong if my whipped tallow is separating after it sits for a few days? What causes it to do that? And does a different oil like jajoba oil have a different texture after whipping than olive oil does?
@@bumblebeeapothecary I tried a tallow balm (not yours, but essentially the same). It was the consistency of Vaseline, basically. And it is greasy. I think I use the correct small amount. Broke me out some. I was just wondering if the whipped version was less greasy.

And would you recommend that I skip an essential oil if I have sensitive skin? Or is it fine to use? Thank you! I love your content so much :)
Thank you so much! Great question. It's an individual thing, but jojoba oil can be really helpful for acne prone skin. As for the essential oil, you can try a light dilution, and see how it goes. If it seems too much, you can leave it out. Hope that helps!
