the metallurgy thrash and modern are the best amp sims I've ever used. I thought doom sounded horrible, but somehow this guy can make even those amps sound tight, punchy, and amazing

Honestly, Doom took me quite some time tweaking to make it sound good. It's a bit fizzy and you have to be thrifty with the gain but Thrash and Modern is killer 🤘

It depends on your style of playing and your tone preference. Personally for me Doom was the best plugin out of the three. So full and ballsy sounding. I’m not playing scooped metal or djent or chugs…. Some old school stoner rock. It sounds like the real deal to me I’m getting sounds i never got from any neural dsp plugins

@@adityabali1939 Agree on what you're saying. For a different style of music, mainly old school stoner, the doom pack is great of course. Neural hasn't released a plugin yet which fits to this type of music, great that line 6 realized that this was missing.

@@adityabali1939 Same here, I owned a AD30 and a Model T in the part and some fizz is part of the appeal when dialing doom and sludge sound out of them. It all comes together in a full mix. Would love to see Neural DSP try something in that direction, but I'm more than satisfied with Line 6's take on it.

I just want a version of the song itself with one consistent preset, doesn't matter which one, they all sound good

All of them sounded great! What IR did you use in the last section?

Glad you like the sound. In the end I used the cab section of the Neural DSP NTS/Gojira for all the amps sims :)

@@dmitriopekine5402 it's been a while I shot this video but I usually use default cabs and mics on both as they both sound amazing out of the box. Just some EQ tweaking on the amps.

What IR were you using? I’d also like to know the presets you used on the Helix?? 😱

Hi Jason, thanks for your question. On the IR question, which part are you referring to? I used different cabs within the song, either from the individual plugins or, at the end, the one from Neural DSP Fortin NTS and Gojira for all amp sims. The settings for the Helix I used you can find within the video :)

Exactly 😃! Like the cab it's the most important part of the signal chain 😊

no sense in making a comparison if this guy can make it all sound killer af

Haha, thanks Michael, I'll take this as an awesome compliment 🤘😂! Honestly, I didnt expected that Line 6 would surprise me that much with the new Metallurgy collection. Whereas the amp section was already kick ass on the Helix they now improved the cabs as well (...which imo was a weakness on the Helix). The pure amp sounds are on par with the competitors.

Thanks for your great feedback Constantine, happy you like the sound 😊! I scrolled through the settings I used for the Helix in the beginning of the video. The presets are pretty simple, just the amps and the cabs which you can see there 😃
