The concept of Stasis is the coolest interpretation of Ice Abilities in any game that ive played, and I am so glad ill be able to use it soon without feeling guilty
They only felt “guilty” to use when they first came out. They’ve been nerfed to be arguably the weakest subclass in the entire game, they’re getting buffed back to useable slowly but surely but need a massive facelift to be true contenders outside of like stasis warlock (which is a one trick pony but it does that one trick pretty damn well)
Strand was just everything Stasis did but better. After the suspend nerf, CC is just in a spotty place all around. Osmiomancy still carries Shadbinder, and frankly I feel like if they buff any of the baseline stasis effects like freeze, they're probably going to have to nerf it, but either way it's just not in a great spot outside of Shadebinder which is still just silly in high-end content where you're okay playing slower.
Yeah stasis was the best crowd control subclass, being focused on slow and crystals instead of straight damage, but after light 3.0 every subclass was good at crowd control, and stasis just got more nerfs, strand was the final nail in the coffin being able to do the same as freeze but better with suspend
Especially cool since it isn't "ice," but rather the complete removal of any potential energy in the target. It's the ultimate stillness, halting something's ability to catalyze reactions and influence its surroundings.
I absolutely love wicked implement with the diamond lance helmet. I've been using it in GMs since last season and it just got better with the buff to the scout
I like it with behemoth (in low/mid level content) because crystals play such a big part in what behemoths want to do and gives you more opportunities to do so
I love it on my Hunter with Renewal Grasps, and it's an ad clearing monster. Ran a tier two Alters of Summoning with a Warlock running their Stasis gauntlets and Verglas and it was nuts how many Stasis crystals there were, how many enemies kept getting slowed and frozen by the turret and by my huge Duskfield grenades. Having Verglas shoot faster shooting at slowed/frozen targets makes getting 5 Stasis arrows constantly, very easy. Not to mention now that it works with Whisker of Fissures, constant Stasis crystal uptime
@@PandaXStorm champion capabilities, subclass synergies, you could say the same thing about using arc of void or strand over solar, its down to personal preference

I do think though if you're gunna get right up in someone's face or punish someone for aping? You should be able to freeze them! I miss the knock back Melee on Voidwalker, give that to Shadebinder! Since the buff to both Verglass and lightweight bows, the draw speed can be so fast with the catalyst sometimes ive fully drawn the arrow and didnt realize it yet because muscle memory was expecting a longer draw

That is ultimately my biggest strike against Wicked and just things leaning into it at the moment,it’s too much wasted time playing with your food when you shouldn’t make a simple champ to beat be a complete science project. Good on Cool guy for trying to show off a freeze as an anti champion tool without a corresponding weapon but good god he took so long to just down a single champ and his time elapsed in one of the shorter crushable sectors wasn’t exactly a good sell in all this. You could honestly just bank on keywords off abilities to stun a champ if you really wanted to miss out on an anti-champ weapon. I would lose my mind just boringly plinking for the freeze on a champion you could smoke in such a faster time and have an exotic slot dedicated elsewhere. I love the ice bow for farting around but Wicked as some big ace up sleeve for anti champion properties is kind of a joke at the moment. Try out Verglass with Mantle of Battle Harmony sometime in PVE; I run Duskfields, IceFlare bolts, Glacial Harvest, Whisper of Fissures, Rending, Rime, and Conduction. Run double Grenade kickstarts and elemental charge. You basically turn your Verglas Crystals into on demand explosive grenades that funnel ads into lanes and get you more grenades you get remarkable DPS against majors and bosses too; use the duskfields to get double damage on anything by slowing/freezing them, With the amount of shards you're harvesting you basically always have an overshield, and melee.
Lancecap and wicked implement are already more than viable, especially in gms since it got headstone. Straight up easy mode with the amount of freezing
I got a warlock setup for Wicked Implement using Mantle of Battle Harmony with Iceflare Bolts, which was already pretty solid at the start and now headstone on the weapon def made it even better. Really glad the bug with Verglas Curve and Fissures was fixed. Makes me want to pick it back up now.
scouts are my favourite weapon type in all of destiny and icked implement feels so good to use imo, constantly slowing and freezing with a primary ammo weapon and NEVER reloading, especially on warlock when every time you freeze it generates a shard.

Servant leader used to be in my first weapon slot for the longest time in all activity until Riptide chill clip came in. Couldn’t be more happier with Wicked Implement when I finally got it during the funny guns week. And i like how snappy it is in PVP as well. All those countless hours grinding for the exotic fishes are finally worth it.
I've been having a lot of fun with Wicked Implement and Verity's Brow. Stasis Crystal kills from Wicked count as weapon kills, so it charges up your Verity, but Stasis Crystals from Glacier Grenade benefit from the Grenade damage so you can slap one at a big enemy's feet to explode them. It's been fun in Altars and whatnot.
Wicked Implement works best with stasis hunter especially if you're using Renewal Grasp, cant remember all the aspects to use but you have healthy damage and great damage resist on top of all of that. Also Wicked Implement is the only gun as far as I know that can take down all champs without any artifact mod.
All opinions of it aside, Wicked Implement is the weapon that I've most seen everyone have to come up with excuses to make it work. Not because it's great, or beats other options, just so that it sees SOME use

The only drawback with barrier champions you can spam the shots like you can with unstop and overload. You have to time your shots. Hit the shots to quick and the barrier will be up.
FYI, the freezing from 2 arrows doesn’t actually even work. No matter how many hail barrage arrows you hit an enemy player with, it will always deal 60 slow. This was a glitch before, but it would only be 40 slow. However they forgot to actually play test the change so they didn’t even fix it
I use both of these in tandem with a stasis titan build using Lancer Cap. I never have so much fun, freezing every single thing there is, providing damage reduction to anyone in the landfield of stasis shards, and basically recreating the ice age.

Looking forward to the season 23 stasis buffs. These weapons are cool AF but using the subclasses felt like the commitment wasn't worth the trade offs from other classes. Too much need of investment only to gain similar results on other classes with less investment needed.
@@DustoVonSusto True, but this is more special because you can do a lot more. Like you can get a 3 tap, slow the next guy and melee him. Athrys Embrace is nice for this.
Didn't play Season of the Deep basically at all (finished under rank 40) but made it my mission earlier this season to get Wicked & its Catalyst done because of some weird gnawing FOMO reason in anticipation for next seasons Stasis focus. Idk I just feel like the way Bungie makes slight meta shifts & for a weapon they worked relatively hard on quest wise it's rise has to come eventually. These meticulous little tweaks can have big changes down the line. Hope I'm not choking on copium but we'll see
Verglas Curve might actually be my favorite exotic weapon for pve, it’s so damn fun with the Revenant subclass and shatterdive. I get my grenade energy back instantly from shattering crystals which gives me more duskfield grenades that give me DR with Renewal Grasps. Playing Revenant also allows me to shatterskate which is fun. My main problem is that the survivability on this class just doesn’t compare to any other subclass even with Renewals. The overshield you get from shards is absolutely pitiful, especially when compared to the survivability options every other subclass gets, even Arc with Assassin’s Cowl/Liars Handshake. I can’t wait to see how they tune stasis next season, it might become my favorite class.
I dont like the stasis turrets, mostly cause i have to wait. I'm using iceflare bolts (which i suspect got a silent buff) and osmiomancy, and the crowd control/boss dps you can get with that is nuts
I really just wish Verglas Curve can fire only 1 hail barrage arrow at a time by holding hip fire and only fire all hail barrage at once if you lightly press hip fire. Firing all of your hail barrage at once all the time is just wasting freeze shots that could’ve been used separately for different champions. Only benefit to firing all of them at once is to create a wall for defense which is why lightly pressing hip fire for a quick wall makes more sense
I love the bow in low to mid content, but I feel like I have to reload too much with wicked. Fourth times or rapid hit would be nice. Edit: I mean in higher content for the scout
Thank you, I really want to know your opinion on the changes to those two. Headstone on wicked implement has been a great addition. I mean a stasis subclass on all three classes usually unless im a void titan or solar hunter.
We need more stasis primary exotics. All of them feel gimmicky. Strand launched with the god that is the qs storm, but stasis seems lacking even after years.
It took 40 seconds to kill that overload champ with Wicked Implement. It's interesting, but I feel like it was meant for a different time in Destiny's sandbox.
I'm I the only one here in the cult of people who thought verglas was already good and didn't need that help? In the right hands, you could effectively chain icewall grenades.
Yes. It's a stasis exotic but it doesn't do well in both pvp and pve like the other stasis exotics. The stasis crystals are nice but not very useful outside of pve. The changes were definitely need to make the perk useful in pvp.
It's too bad the last thing stasis got was a HEAVYLY nerf to the things that helped you survive while using the class along with the element not getting ANY mods in the current artifact.... :/
Wish more stasis was on the artifact

Looking forward to the season 23 stasis buffs. These weapons are cool AF but using the subclasses felt like the commitment wasn't worth the trade offs from other classes. Too much need of investment only to gain similar results on other classes with less investment needed.
Very surprised you didn't mention with Wicked Implement the radiant build you can do with it. It's nuts and 3 taps in PvP
You can do that with any 180 scout though
@@DustoVonSusto True, but this is more special because you can do a lot more. Like you can get a 3 tap, slow the next guy and melee him. Athrys Embrace is nice for this.
If i wanna use a Stasis exotic Ager's Scepter will always be my top choice.
I have been using verglas for a little over a month and it has been fun in PvE and pvp have also used it in gambit for fun
We need that Stasis buff asap.
Hope I'm not choking on copium but we'll see
Honestly i didnt even know about some of those changes for the bow, just the fact i think they buffed the frame in pve i wanna say
@CoolGuyGames does this mean that Wicked can handle overloads due to stasis but stun unstops with the artifact at the same time?
I'm a warlock main. But this bow with renewal on Hunter is just too damn fun and I haven't left yet 😂
Which should I go with on my stasis hunter??
Verglas should freeze guardians with just 1 hail arrow. Cryosyhesia let's you get 1 freeze off of 1 kill, why shouldn't the bow?
So for wicked, you dont need to have a specific mod on it for it to be good against champions?
I dont like the stasis turrets, mostly cause i have to wait. I'm using iceflare bolts (which i suspect got a silent buff) and osmiomancy, and the crowd control/boss dps you can get with that is nuts
They have received a stealth buff, the tracking bolt can now freeze Champions by themselves (after the shatter)
When wicked came I was like ehh n never bothered to get it but just weeks ago I got it and boi o boi it is so fun specially with champs 😍
Verglass, Wave frame quick swap is decent 👌
I really just wish Verglas Curve can fire only 1 hail barrage arrow at a time by holding hip fire and only fire all hail barrage at once if you lightly press hip fire. Firing all of your hail barrage at once all the time is just wasting freeze shots that could’ve been used separately for different champions. Only benefit to firing all of them at once is to create a wall for defense which is why lightly pressing hip fire for a quick wall makes more sense
If Stasis/Strand isn’t what next season is about, I’ll be… well it’s Bungie so I won’t be surprised but I won’t be happy about it
Verglas curve is basically stasis trinity ghoul
I love the bow in low to mid content, but I feel like I have to reload too much with wicked. Fourth times or rapid hit would be nice. Edit: I mean in higher content for the scout
You’re focusing the champ too much. Alternating between champ and trash adds keeps the shards coming
@@holopastethanks for the tip, I’ll try that out 😃
Thank you, I really want to know your opinion on the changes to those two. Headstone on wicked implement has been a great addition. I mean a stasis subclass on all three classes usually unless im a void titan or solar hunter.
so mad with myself I didn't get implement when we had the silly crafted weapons lol
Love the content. I had to play against you using this two games in a row and it was super annoying.
Coolguy making videos about freezing things 😂
thx for the upload.
Wicked Implement during revenant
What's happening at 4:25? There's a rift effect going off but i don't see one on the ground :/
Common shadebanger W
couldn't you run a glaive instead of a gl? I think that would solve the close range issue if you could also maintain a shield
Does cool guy stream?
This might be too much but if wicked implement got collective action it would help the dmg in pve a lot, idk about pvp it might break it
We need more stasis primary exotics. All of them feel gimmicky.
Strand launched with the god that is the qs storm, but stasis seems lacking even after years.
You'll make this video again next season when they update stasis...
Lol "didn't make any friends doing that"
Life of a bow user
It took 40 seconds to kill that overload champ with Wicked Implement. It's interesting, but I feel like it was meant for a different time in Destiny's sandbox.
You're just, the best. Thank you.
I just hate how the bow goes against my inherint intuition to aim before I ADS. Its something I have to think about every time before I draw.
Foe tracer or bakris 6% damage and it will be a 3c up to T6.
btw what is tithing harvest 4:20
as a titan main, I wanted to love these 2 exotics more...but stasis is such a letdown on titans I cant bring myself to use them.
i just don't understand why I wouldn't use agers.
