Oh wow, that breakdown was absolutely amazing. Seriously, every single time I thought you ran out of fusion rifles, you managed to surprise me with ones that I had totally forgotten about. While I was watching, I actually decided to give Snorri a shot (by pure luck, I had the god roll hidden away in my vault). And it was a menace in comp play. I also gave the Merciless a try, and even though it was noticeably slower, the accuracy was incredibly satisfying. I'm going to try to master this one. I just want to thank you for this extended deep dive into fusions. Thank you for sharing your incredibly valuable and detailed perspective.
I love merciless, honestly I don't take full advantage of all its perks its just a fusion that feels REALLY nice and hits at those distances with a lot of forgiveness. Super fun fusion.
@@Legoleflash for sure! I tell my friends about it but no one believes me until I run with them and top frag and then they're all like "Now I gotta try this". Same thing happens with Borealis and Izanagis burden. There are just some sleeper guns that I love running just for the hell of it.
The Butchering of Bastion was a travesty imo. Literally threw everything exotic about it in the dumpster. Imagine Ace losing momento mori's damage buff and taking 20 range off of the weapon. That's what happened to Bastion basically. Loaded Question with Maximum Reduced Charge Time is 847ms on Paper and the roll I have. Running Eye of the Storm and Under Pressure is really nice imo.

Plug one adept w/ under pressure, Cartesian with under pressure/vorpal, and timeline’s vertex with firmly planted and elecap. The vertex is my favorite. I’ve never gotten a good roll on a burden of guilt, unfortunately.
Great video! What would you recommend to a mediocre pvp player? I'm terrible with shotguns and was thinking about trying fusions. What is the best "noob" friendly weapon here? I have the Xur Main Ingredient and several others on this list. Thanks!
Precisions are definitely the way, your xur ingredient, Deliverance, Plug One, and Snorri. BUT, if you're playing during this event, I'd go for a good Glacioclasm too! Just put out a vid on it! Going to be great for anyone. If you want to try out some speed. Go for Null Composure now since it's a set roll with no grinding required!
A note on charge time MW not changing damage: > Fixed an issue where the Adept Masterworks and Enhanced Intrinsic perks for Fusion Rifles were decreasing the damage dealt by fusions when they changed the Charge Time stat. its specifically non-CT MWs on adepts/crafted weapons that incidentally shaved a few ms of charge time and damage off that no longer do so (since those are unavoidable changes). a charge time MW itself is still -2% damage
Ah, I'll go back and test this too. I tested on a crafted fusion to make sure it wasn't just adept, didn't realize Bungie made it even MORE confusing than it already was. I was planning on doing a follow up vid anyways due to charge time being so intricate, I'll talk about this too.
@@Legoleflash there's also a possibility that Bungie fixed the adept and enhanced intrinsic exactly like they wrote there, and with it introduced a bug for all CT MW's.
@@BorisZapolsky I doubt that. I see where you're coming from, but the point of it was to mitigate people getting Charge Time MW rolls and then NOT masterworking because of the deficits. They should honestly do the same thing with accelerated and liquid, but that's a video for another day. :)
@@Legoleflash Just pulled out my Snorri with an incomplete charge masterwork, and increasing the masterwork does reduce the impact stat. Too scared to test further because if it lowers damage any further it'll break my god roll - no more 5 bolt kill on 10RES with all 3 HIR bursts.
Great video, but I’m a little lost on the logic between the tier difference between burden of guilt’s ranking and trinary system’s. We’re talking 2 less range & 3 less AA on trinary with the same perks but no s tier? I don’t think alacrity alone should make them a tier apart either imo
I think so. But as I said in the vid, I give Trinary a lot of credit for having the stats and perks, I just personally don't like the feel of it as much, and can see someone ranking it higher if they do like it. To me, Techeun even feels worlds better with it's enhanced perks, Burden gets up to 100 range, and Pressurized has Discord. All things to place them above Trinary. Also as I mention, paper-thin differences, and I admit that one in particular is the most preferential placement I have in there.
I have a pretty decent Burden, and it's STUPID good with Alacrity proc'd. One huge thing about jotunn is it can one shot supers no prob. This vid was worth it just for the Merciless explanation alone! It's been so inconsistent for me, so I gave up on it multiple times. 1:10:30 PFFFFFFFFFTTTT yo that's insane

I'm so glad you preached tf out of Burden of Guilt. I have been solo queue flawless running the Lighthouse with mine and it's just too easy. My roll is perfect except for the Coils. I have Accelerated or Liquid. I have been running Liquid because of the Impact buff it gives and I'm not sure it actually affects the charge time? I haven't noticed a significant disadvantage.
This is a great video for returning players! Being able to get clear and in depth information makes it easy to catch up and understand the meta. I would love to see this type of video done for other weapon types.

Ok, I know what you just said about Coriolis Force... but Imma use it anyway because I farmed for a max-range 5/5. Full Bore, Projection Fuse, Moving Target, Rangefinder, Range MW + Targeting adjuster 68 Range, 60aa on ADS Is it great? Probably not. It feels fine, though. Is it funny? Yes :)

My Wizened Rebuke is from S4 w/ Backup Plan & Threat Detector. I'm glad to see I'm not crazy and backup plan has been solid for me, while I see many disavowing backup plan
One of the most interesting thing about zealots is the way the bolts connect. While rapids like iterative loop will usually hit the first few bolts, they can’t get thrown off by movement and flinch. With zealots, I can hear and see ALL the bolts just connecting. It’s gotta have some sort of unique recoil pattern, even if wall tests don’t show it
I have a VERY high assumption that it's the sound design and look of the bolts. There is just something that makes you play better when it sounds like you're playing better!

I have almost 2,500 kills on my Adept Burden of Guilt. It is a 9/10 roll, only missing a Range/Stability Masterwork. It has Chambered Compensator/Liquid Coils/Perpetual Motion/High Impact Reserves/Adept Range Mod. The thing feels almost as good as Main Ingredient did in its Prime!
Should accelerated coils ever be used? Do they still lower impact? I know the masterwork no longer does but assume accelerated still would, otherwise it would be an S tier mag
95% of the time no! Unfortunately accelerated still decreases damage. The only time I would use it is on a High Impact with Backup Plan, because you will 4-bolt no matter how many charge time things you use.
Adept Plug with Under Pressure + Backup Plan (with best in slot stat perks) is the true greatest fusion to exist and you'll never chnge my mind. And no, you cant get plug any more (i think), and even if you could, Bungis rem9ved Backup Plan. Closest you can get now is Midha's from Kingsfall

Fusions still ohk to body from too far and can be charged quickly enough to follow up non ohk and misses, but as long as they're as strong as they are (on console) I might as well have the info to fight a fair fight😈. Thanks for the tier list.
Anyone that wants a low key God fusion is wizened rebuke you can still focus for it. Under pressure successful warm up turns it into a multi kill machine as successful warm up knocks off 200 or 300 of the charge time
Full bore, projection, charge time MW, enhanced UP and HIR with a targeting mod. Could go extended if you want, and could go range MW, I just prefer the charge time now.
@Legoleflash thx. I have everything there except I got arrowhead brake and counterbalance stock Instead for 100 deviation. Does recoil deviation matter much?
@@Toffee-clan IMO it doesn’t matter as much as range on Techeun, I’d rather push the aim assist on that fusion with a targeting. Arrrowhead certainly isn’t bad by any means though.
Glad you semi-changed your mind on Dream Breaker. I have to get back in there to see how things are now. That and I still have to clear out my vault from being full (the real end game).
Im only about 17 minutes in and what I've learned so far is that i should really bring my Burden of Guilt back out since i have almost the same roll as you. Full Bore(or fluted), Projection Fuse, Killing Wind, High Impact Reserves, Charge time MW.
does cornered nerf damage? i'm not sure why it's considered a bad perk. in sixes, there's typically enough people to proc it, and in trials people hold hands like nothing else. what am i missing?
Great question, and something I probably could have covered. As a friend of mine says, Cornered is a perk that let’s you know you’ve messed up your positioning. If cornered is active you’re not playing at optimal fusion distance. If the perk activated with less people around or at a further distance I’d talk about it, but as it is it just isn’t useful enough and can even get you in trouble if you don’t know it’s proc’d
Before hearing where Cartesian sits, it will always be my baby, now and always. I also HAD both of the xur main ingredients, but the one I chose to delete forever ago I think is the one you said here would be the better of the two lol
I still have my Cartesian god roll I never got rid of it, even despite the nerfs, and then they got buffed again, which made me quite happy, cuz it meant i could use it again

Still have an old glacioclasm that slapps in pvp lol when that doesn't work my plug one adept or merciless , don't like using jotunn for pvp personally
Yeah glacio is still really easy to use, but when the going gets tough I pull out plug one for sure. Merciless was the real surprise here. I have a mighty need to master it!
as a fusion rifle lover in pvp and pve, i no longer trust generic god roll builds and recommendations. i have to find the fusion king first. Thank you for your hard work and for letting us fusion lovers eat.
I love telesto, it is my favourite fusion rifle because of the mapping potential...But I just can't use it that much because of the inconsistency of hitting bolts and them not exploding/dealing damage
Molesto is completely map specific, you need lots of walls and tight corners to make it work. On Anomaly, Wormhaven, and Convergence its S Tier, on Vostox, Midtown, and Eternity its F tier.
I guess waiting 2hours to see my baby Zealots with 6k kills mentioned was worth. Can't wait to try out a godroll but sad everyone is gonna get one 😅 and it gets nerfed

Sorry I disagree on telesto ...I'm a master telesto user that's all I use in comp and trials you have to learn to peek shoot and go back to cover..that's the telesto mastery ..it also stops glave users easily....Telesto is the Besto
We need another aggressive frame fusion for PvE. If it could get good PvE perks the thing would be an endgame monster. They built a PvE monster, but then gave it awful perks. It was never the gun's fault it was bad and if they give it a perk pool refresh with perks that leverage it's strength (PvE boss damage) it'll have its retribution.

I will not accept this Tolesto slander. Skill issue, I say! If you use your cover and pre-charge properly, it is THE FUSION. Nothing feels more consistent for me (Add on threaded specter dodge, and you don't even need cover.)
Discussed this on Reddit a bit after the vid, I do think you can have a crazy long range 1st shot, but as far as consistency, there is no way to risk that long range shot in comparison to the consistency of a normal. On top of that, the first shot is ALWYAS more delayed than a normal fusion for medium to close range engagements, and you'd be better off slideshotting with any other fusion for the insta-kill. Real question real quick, are you on M&KB? I've heard a few there say it is more consistent than controller, curious on your thoughts.
Fantastic breakdown! I don't understand why Bungie hasn't hired you unless you simply don't want the gig. Community sentiment is low for obvious reasons but I'm hyped to go find the fusion best for me now. A few random thoughts as I went through the whole video: -Bastion needs a lot of help. Especially to be an "exotic." It's not even worth equipping for PvE. Maybe a Kinetic Tremor trait and champion mods? Idk. The aesthetic is amazing but the gun is below meh. -Delicate Tomb is definitely designed as PvE fusion so I'm not surprised it's last on the list for PvP. It's entire existence is meant to generate ionic traces. That's it. I loved using it in the pirate encounters for season of plunder but since then, it's just gathered dust in my vault. -I didn't even know Dreambreak existed. I really like the aesthetic but it doesn't look worth the chase. -Clearly you and I are in different matchmaking circles because Jotunn bends like a horseshoe to kill me. I've had people drop trials matches because I got the first kill of the first round with Jotunn. I continue to have a love/hate relationship with it based on which end of the bolt I'm on. I don't use it anymore just because I don't want it taking up my exotic slot. -I was an hour into thre video before the first YT ad hit. I know that has nothing to do with you specifically but it did make watching the video much more enjoyable -Look at this list. 16 out of 34 fusion rifles are in the A tier or S tier for PvP. That should be something all players should be thankful for towards Bungie. Thank you so much for all the time and effort (and Gambit) you went through to make this. Great work! Shaxx is so proud 🥲

I’m confused by high impact reserves. When I go to d2foundry, the perk has no affect on time to kill or the number of bolts required to one shot. Every fusion I have done with every perk combo, surge, etc. has never changed the outcome. Am I missing something? Why is this perk so high on the list for fusion players?
Check out my Fusion Charge Time guide video. I have High Impact Reserve charts for PvP. It's too complicated for website calculations because of how it ramps up, so we manually (as a community) figured it out for each fusion type.

Always thought the site seemed accurate. That is a huge let down. It’s almost like there’s no point in using that site if there is a chance something like this not showing correctly. I found that exact roll for Iota last night while I was purging my vault. Probably been in there since season of the Lost. Decided to try it out in IB and the thing was pretty surprising. I definitely noticed it tends to bend bolts around corners and people don't seem to hear the charge. Overall pretty consistent. The sight is nice too I like my snorri too thing just connects. Extended barrel, accelerated, surplus, high impact, stability mw, counter balance. Feels like it doesn't bounce at all and all the bolts go exactly where I aimed especially with surplus at max strength

re: "lucky you have a faster charge time" A saying I love from the fighting game community is "we all have the same character select screen". Sure there's RNG loot, but we all choose what weapons we take into the crucible.
As someone not good at pvp, I use 'what killed me most recently' to dictate probably too many loadout choices! Your videos have really helped rein that in, keeping me to an overall gameplan more often.@@Legoleflash
This isn’t related to the main video topic but I knew I wasn’t bugging when I thought there were skill brackets in the game. I’ve sworn up and down since the comp rework that the game hard caps rank based on the skill bracket the game “thinks” you’re in (as in points rewarded get diminished harshly when the game thinks you’re in a rank division above where it places you).
@@Legoleflash funnily enough this system got mentioned in this weeks TWID. Seems they’re removing the rubber band effect on points gained but keeping the one on losses to help prevent falling out of your expected range.

I thought delicate tomb was extremely good during season of the deep but it was definitely carried by the artifact set at the time
it's just a tough sell with how it gets the short stick on damage when it should get a lot more!

My favorite fusion has always been Midha's Reckoning. It lets me shatter frozen targets super easily. I wish I had it crafted, but I'm done with LFG.
Midha's & Merciless, I'm convinced they're the most slept on High-Impacts for sure.

Precisions are definitely the way, your xur ingredient, Deliverance, Plug One, and Snorri. BUT, if you're playing during this event, I'd go for a good Glacioclasm too! Just put out a vid on it! Going to be great for anyone.
If you want to try out some speed. Go for Null Composure now since it's a set roll with no grinding required!
A note on charge time MW not changing damage:

its specifically non-CT MWs on adepts/crafted weapons that incidentally shaved a few ms of charge time and damage off that no longer do so (since those are unavoidable changes). a charge time MW itself is still -2% damage
Ah, I'll go back and test this too. I tested on a crafted fusion to make sure it wasn't just adept, didn't realize Bungie made it even MORE confusing than it already was.
I was planning on doing a follow up vid anyways due to charge time being so intricate, I'll talk about this too.
FYI, triple checked, statements made in my video are true. :) I think the TWAB that spoke about them was just a little confusing.
@@Legoleflash there's also a possibility that Bungie fixed the adept and enhanced intrinsic exactly like they wrote there, and with it introduced a bug for all CT MW's.
@@BorisZapolsky I doubt that. I see where you're coming from, but the point of it was to mitigate people getting Charge Time MW rolls and then NOT masterworking because of the deficits. They should honestly do the same thing with accelerated and liquid, but that's a video for another day. :)
@@Legoleflash Just pulled out my Snorri with an incomplete charge masterwork, and increasing the masterwork does reduce the impact stat. Too scared to test further because if it lowers damage any further it'll break my god roll - no more 5 bolt kill on 10RES with all 3 HIR bursts.
Great video, but I’m a little lost on the logic between the tier difference between burden of guilt’s ranking and trinary system’s. We’re talking 2 less range & 3 less AA on trinary with the same perks but no s tier? I don’t think alacrity alone should make them a tier apart either imo
I think so. But as I said in the vid, I give Trinary a lot of credit for having the stats and perks, I just personally don't like the feel of it as much, and can see someone ranking it higher if they do like it. To me, Techeun even feels worlds better with it's enhanced perks, Burden gets up to 100 range, and Pressurized has Discord. All things to place them above Trinary. Also as I mention, paper-thin differences, and I admit that one in particular is the most preferential placement I have in there.

I'm so glad you preached tf out of Burden of Guilt. I have been solo queue flawless running the Lighthouse with mine and it's just too easy. My roll is perfect except for the Coils. I have Accelerated or Liquid. I have been running Liquid because of the Impact buff it gives and I'm not sure it actually affects the charge time? I haven't noticed a significant disadvantage.

One of the most interesting thing about zealots is the way the bolts connect. While rapids like iterative loop will usually hit the first few bolts, they can’t get thrown off by movement and flinch.
With zealots, I can hear and see ALL the bolts just connecting. It’s gotta have some sort of unique recoil pattern, even if wall tests don’t show it
I have a VERY high assumption that it's the sound design and look of the bolts. There is just something that makes you play better when it sounds like you're playing better!

I have almost 2,500 kills on my Adept Burden of Guilt. It is a 9/10 roll, only missing a Range/Stability Masterwork. It has Chambered Compensator/Liquid Coils/Perpetual Motion/High Impact Reserves/Adept Range Mod. The thing feels almost as good as Main Ingredient did in its Prime!

Should accelerated coils ever be used? Do they still lower impact? I know the masterwork no longer does but assume accelerated still would, otherwise it would be an S tier mag
95% of the time no! Unfortunately accelerated still decreases damage. The only time I would use it is on a High Impact with Backup Plan, because you will 4-bolt no matter how many charge time things you use.
Adept Plug with Under Pressure + Backup Plan (with best in slot stat perks) is the true greatest fusion to exist and you'll never chnge my mind.
And no, you cant get plug any more (i think), and even if you could, Bungis rem9ved Backup Plan.
Closest you can get now is Midha's from Kingsfall

I found the place for Riptide and its perfect in this enviroment, hear me out...... stasis warlock pvp. It shreds. Get one with sucessful warmup and you're cooking.
While, yes, that falls into the same pain point of delicate tomb though, why not just do the same thing with a better rapid fusion?

Fusions still ohk to body from too far and can be charged quickly enough to follow up non ohk and misses, but as long as they're as strong as they are (on console) I might as well have the info to fight a fair fight😈.

Anyone that wants a low key God fusion is wizened rebuke you can still focus for it. Under pressure successful warm up turns it into a multi kill machine as successful warm up knocks off 200 or 300 of the charge time
Absolutely. Offhand strike & successful warmup is my personal fav. Incredible fusion.

@@Toffee-clan IMO it doesn’t matter as much as range on Techeun, I’d rather push the aim assist on that fusion with a targeting. Arrrowhead certainly isn’t bad by any means though.

Im only about 17 minutes in and what I've learned so far is that i should really bring my Burden of Guilt back out since i have almost the same roll as you. Full Bore(or fluted), Projection Fuse, Killing Wind, High Impact Reserves, Charge time MW.

does cornered nerf damage? i'm not sure why it's considered a bad perk. in sixes, there's typically enough people to proc it, and in trials people hold hands like nothing else. what am i missing?
Great question, and something I probably could have covered. As a friend of mine says, Cornered is a perk that let’s you know you’ve messed up your positioning. If cornered is active you’re not playing at optimal fusion distance. If the perk activated with less people around or at a further distance I’d talk about it, but as it is it just isn’t useful enough and can even get you in trouble if you don’t know it’s proc’d

Yeah glacio is still really easy to use, but when the going gets tough I pull out plug one for sure. Merciless was the real surprise here. I have a mighty need to master it!

I love telesto, it is my favourite fusion rifle because of the mapping potential...But I just can't use it that much because of the inconsistency of hitting bolts and them not exploding/dealing damage
Molesto is completely map specific, you need lots of walls and tight corners to make it work. On Anomaly, Wormhaven, and Convergence its S Tier, on Vostox, Midtown, and Eternity its F tier.
Exactly my thoughts, fun gun for 6s, just not reliable competitively.
I guess waiting 2hours to see my baby Zealots with 6k kills mentioned was worth. Can't wait to try out a godroll but sad everyone is gonna get one 😅 and it gets nerfed

Sorry I disagree on telesto ...I'm a master telesto user that's all I use in comp and trials you have to learn to peek shoot and go back to cover..that's the telesto mastery ..it also stops glave users easily....Telesto is the Besto
I agree with you, it's a peek shoot weapon, but then it suffers the high impact problem of when you face 2 players at once.
We need another aggressive frame fusion for PvE.
If it could get good PvE perks the thing would be an endgame monster.
They built a PvE monster, but then gave it awful perks. It was never the gun's fault it was bad and if they give it a perk pool refresh with perks that leverage it's strength (PvE boss damage) it'll have its retribution.
I'd be down for a perk refresh, even if just for PvE!

If you use your cover and pre-charge properly, it is THE FUSION. Nothing feels more consistent for me (Add on threaded specter dodge, and you don't even need cover.)
Discussed this on Reddit a bit after the vid, I do think you can have a crazy long range 1st shot, but as far as consistency, there is no way to risk that long range shot in comparison to the consistency of a normal. On top of that, the first shot is ALWYAS more delayed than a normal fusion for medium to close range engagements, and you'd be better off slideshotting with any other fusion for the insta-kill.
Real question real quick, are you on M&KB? I've heard a few there say it is more consistent than controller, curious on your thoughts.

Fantastic breakdown! I don't understand why Bungie hasn't hired you unless you simply don't want the gig. Community sentiment is low for obvious reasons but I'm hyped to go find the fusion best for me now. A few random thoughts as I went through the whole video:
-Bastion needs a lot of help. Especially to be an "exotic." It's not even worth equipping for PvE. Maybe a Kinetic Tremor trait and champion mods? Idk. The aesthetic is amazing but the gun is below meh.
-Delicate Tomb is definitely designed as PvE fusion so I'm not surprised it's last on the list for PvP. It's entire existence is meant to generate ionic traces. That's it. I loved using it in the pirate encounters for season of plunder but since then, it's just gathered dust in my vault.
-I didn't even know Dreambreak existed. I really like the aesthetic but it doesn't look worth the chase.
-Clearly you and I are in different matchmaking circles because Jotunn bends like a horseshoe to kill me. I've had people drop trials matches because I got the first kill of the first round with Jotunn. I continue to have a love/hate relationship with it based on which end of the bolt I'm on. I don't use it anymore just because I don't want it taking up my exotic slot.
-I was an hour into thre video before the first YT ad hit. I know that has nothing to do with you specifically but it did make watching the video much more enjoyable
-Look at this list. 16 out of 34 fusion rifles are in the A tier or S tier for PvP. That should be something all players should be thankful for towards Bungie.

I’m confused by high impact reserves.
When I go to d2foundry, the perk has no affect on time to kill or the number of bolts required to one shot. Every fusion I have done with every perk combo, surge, etc. has never changed the outcome.
Am I missing something? Why is this perk so high on the list for fusion players?
Check out my Fusion Charge Time guide video. I have High Impact Reserve charts for PvP. It's too complicated for website calculations because of how it ramps up, so we manually (as a community) figured it out for each fusion type.
@@Legoleflash That video was interesting. D2foundry doesn’t change anything for high impact reserves. This was the whole reason I got rid of all my high impacts fusions with high impact reserves. Always thought the site seemed accurate. That is a huge let down. It’s almost like there’s no point in using that site if there is a chance something like this not showing correctly.

I found that exact roll for Iota last night while I was purging my vault. Probably been in there since season of the Lost. Decided to try it out in IB and the thing was pretty surprising. I definitely noticed it tends to bend bolts around corners and people don't seem to hear the charge. Overall pretty consistent. The sight is nice too
I like my snorri too thing just connects. Extended barrel, accelerated, surplus, high impact, stability mw, counter balance. Feels like it doesn't bounce at all and all the bolts go exactly where I aimed especially with surplus at max strength
Snorri is crazy good, super underrated, and really cool you have the exact Iota roll. Pretty awesome fusion!

This isn’t related to the main video topic but I knew I wasn’t bugging when I thought there were skill brackets in the game. I’ve sworn up and down since the comp rework that the game hard caps rank based on the skill bracket the game “thinks” you’re in (as in points rewarded get diminished harshly when the game thinks you’re in a rank division above where it places you).
Yeah, it definitely does. Not as much as it used to, but the system fights you a lot based off of what it thinks of you.
@@Legoleflash funnily enough this system got mentioned in this weeks TWID. Seems they’re removing the rubber band effect on points gained but keeping the one on losses to help prevent falling out of your expected range.
