Your hands need to be almost in line with but behind your elbow and shoulders at the end of the movement, this form shown won't properly help internal rotation

Not exactly applicable here but I highly highly highly recommend not doing any door"knob" workouts with resistance bands. Long story short, I was being very stupid by thinking I had it tied off tight enough. Was doing face pulls, it slipped. I took it directly to BOTH eyeballs. Couldn't see out of my left eye for several minutes. Pitch black I thought I blinded myself. Ended up with 2 shiners a couple eyeball hemorrhages and my eyes are just now starting to be less "jolty" 2 months later. Careful fellas.

There is a detail missing, like others have noted. You are doing a rear deltoid row, with some shitty internal rotation. Not a facepull.
Watch athlean x video on facepulls. The hands need to lead the motion, as in the hands need to be quicker than the elbows.
Imagine your hands in the U position, but with puffing your chest out and having your wrists as far back as possible. Like you are surrendering in a flamboyant over dramatic way.
Just watch athleanx video on facepulls!

Hey David, definitely more variations with what you do with your hands, especially in the bodybuilding world. But I'm using these more as a warm-up/pre-hab movement, so I'm more concerned with my athletes setting shoulder blades and really engaging the pull through the upper back and rear delts to move the elbows back. Nothing wrong with doing this same movement how you are saying either.
