@Predator963 you are right.... he could have made a dwarf warrior at the very least, dwarves are more badass than humans especially as warriors and paladins...but for some reason Asmon can't see this...or is he just a Garithos kind-of-a-guy hating on all non-human races ? (and especially on blood, night and void elves and Sylvanas?)

Same. Ive already grinded max level and end game pvp and pve gear for like 30 toons over the years. Just cant do it. Classic was it for a lot of people.
Feck, i healed the entire expansion. I dont remember it all though, and im going to do it again. Different character though :)
I didn't even realise this was happening. I just created my character, did 2 quests and logged out. Yea I can't do it again either.
@@fadence yeah, and my goal is gladiator or at least a title. or nothing at all. I know what goes into that, especially todays meta where people have been grinding ptr arenas for 15 years already. So it will be nothing for me.
I played wow since day 1 and srsly .. this elwynn forest athmosphere giving me goosebumps and reminds me of my best gaming experience ive ever had by far .. wow in 2004 was just different.
Vanilla and Classic were both the same yet different experiences, and equally awesome for me. Take me back!
No one is holding your hand, and the world is yours to explore and figure out, making friends and enemies along the way. You create the narrative, there's no real driving force behind the story aside from simply playing the game and figuring it out as you progress.
It wasnt different, you just can't delete something from your memory you already expierenced.. All was fresh and new to you back than, today you already know how to play the game and you will get no suprises, that is why it feels different today..
@@diego090bw I think you are misunderstanding. The content is identical, but the approach to the way people played then vs now is different, which made for different experiences for me. Vanilla was exploring something totally brand new and being awestruck while making some friends along the way. Classic was not that, but because I had already done most of it before, I could focus on the social part much more, and enjoyed watching people stream it, the hilarious guild debacles etc.
@@maybecole I mean I didnt reffered you but the creator of the main comment, also it is just a fact that the most guys where just so hyped about classic cause they thoughd it would be the same exp. and bring them back to 2004 when this is just not possible, and this is why most or atleast a big chunk of players got dissapointed at some point or another..

1:06:18 I think that the element of surprise plays a role here. I assume you'd instinctly reject a thing, if you know that it will randomly surprise you in ways you don't like. In Souls Like games you often know when and where to expect the evil - so it feels more under control

Good idea for content Asmon. This will highlight certian experiences that wow has to offer that no where else can. Well for what its worth im excited for you do more of this series.
One day, Asmon will learn the [Tab -> 1] strat so you don't have to click on the mob itself and attack super quick.

I started playing yesterday cuz of the transmog competitions, kinda cool to see him basically starting from the basics so i can leech off some tactics
back in the day this game just hit different, servers always full. I have so many good memories, I couldnt even dream of coming back to it with all the new content now and doing it again. Just took so much of my life at the time

I’m 24 now and nostalgia always hits different.
The first few seconds of music gives so much nostalgia to simpler times. Like the first time you play Skyrim, Witcher 3 etc
Damn just watching a lvl 1 start fresh is so juicy and triggering to my old addiction. Starting a lvl 1 in wow is like alcohal for an alcoholic. Its haroine injections absolute bliss. Wow really is the best game I feel like. Like I can feel it pulling me in hard af because its been a few years since i played. But I cant. A fresh wow lvl 1 character something ive done hundreds of times. Just cant mmo anymore. And after a year or two without doing it it feels so satisfying watching those quests get collected and xp filling the bar on the screen. Ugh Unfortunately I wont be doing it. It is done!

You need to play other games man. You're limiting yourself to one good experience and try to relive the same feelings you had as a younger person. But tthat's impossible, time is ever going foward and you have to movbe with it or end up submerged into this pile of nostalgia that lies to you about what life is. PLay other stuff and learn new experiences. PLenty of Multiplayer games that can fill that feeling, trust me.

Classic wow asmon was peek asmon. For me anywyas. Those videos were so sweet to watch while also playing wow classic. I burned out hard near the end of classic though where i invested so much into it then id take a break for a few days. Raid log rotation was all bad because there was nothing else to do. Ppl were all just sitting in org chatting. No one was doing anything. I would pull those dragons into org and watch a few ppl try to die. But after the 500th time it all just became a waste of time.for the time i wanted to waste. Log in and i didnt want to raid with my guild anymore, and finding a group to do anything would literally mean sitting in org and busying my ass for 8 hours frantically trying to get a group of atleast 3 ppl to do a 5 man couldnt even keep ppls interest to do anything at all. When i remember that gut aching feeling of defeat near the end of classic vanilla i just remember how i cant try to go back. Itll just end the same sad and lonely depressing way it always does.

I have always been a gamer and tryed all games, but always return too WoW and Oldschool RuneScape but I'm also a party animal and social guy so it's harder to find time when you have a job too 😂 my friends have a LAN party every weekend, just 6-7 guys playing games and eating healthy food and drinks, but welcome buddy!
just be careful not to go too deep into the rabbit hole. Wow is really time consuming in the endgame because they made daily chores for progression

I'm just using my gaming laptop that i bought used on Facebook marketplace for like half the new price and was barely used, do the same and if you don't feel like you get it used just sell it for the same price on Facebook marketplace, my little brother plays wow on a 6 year old ASUS laptop (not even gaming specs) and it runs smoothly, remember that WOTLK is a very very old game and can be played on old PC's easily, you only have trouble with the newest games.

you can run this on a pretty old pc, or even on a recent non gaming one. I could get this running at 1440p just using my steam deck GPU (with an external monitor) but is it worth the time though. Probably not.

I never played WoW till 2018 when my dad got me into it before i moved out. I used to watch him in 2008ish and man i loved watching him. Playing classic now is the coolest thing for me remembering all that

My introduction in any video game was wrath of the Lich King...I was a total newb...Didnt have a clue how to do a DAMN thing...not even pick up quests or add armor (Thought if it was in my back pack it was active) and I started at level 1 and leveled up to level 70 the hardest way possible (No quest finder apps)......ahhhh, those were the days.

I'm not sure this is such a great representation, it really is a great game though and I was pulled in back in 2007 simply by the movement and ability casting feeling less restricted than other games. Jumping, running, turning, targeting etc all feel great on wow. There's also a shit tonne of content to play through. This video right here is the relaunching of warcraft expansion, wrath of the lich King which fully opens on 26th Sept. Until then is a good time to learn the game and level up to 70 before it hits.
I ended up on Skyfury as a nelf. Not crowded. I certainly don't want to level with the humans in that mess. I'll take my shadowmeld and my peaceful leveling.

Leveling in WoW freshly as a new player and during vanilla/pre-bc was so much fun and breathtaking. The struggle of drinking/eating, dying to big pulls, 3+ higher lvl mobs, group quests. Etc
I know so many people who say 'WoW stats at max level'.... but to me the leveling process was one of the most enjoyable parts of playing the game. You get out what you put into it.
You would like turtle WoW slow and steady challenge.

@@filips2146 I never felt that wrath was worse than tbc, imo, it was the best until it went through the _changes._ The main thing that killed it was the destruction of the community via insta-dungeon-ing. Tanks and heals became toxic much faster since they no longer had to care about anyone that they grouped with along the journey ie... I can be a complete ass but it's no big deal, I can jump back into a new one in under a minute flat. That continued on until you see what garbage we have in Retail today. I've personally had much better experiences, via the community, in both tbc and this pre-patch for wotlk than I have had in Retail for a very long time. The servers atm are absolutely packed all the way across the board which is telling. That's not all simply nostalgia. Classic was the most irritating of them all due to not having the many QoLs that have been implemented along the way with tbc and wrath.

I miss this game so fucking much. I resubbed this week and I honestly just didn't enjoy it though :/ maybe it's the lack of friends playing, most likely it's just nostalgia, or maybe it's because I'm almost 30 and I stress more about life than I did when I was a teenager. Probably a combination of those things...
@@veritasabsoluta4285 I admittedly did. I played through Classic when it rereleased a couple years ago and had a blast, but once Blizzard introduced the boost for BC I backed out. I really just want Retail to be fun but all I see every time I log on is /2 getting slammed with carries spam. Maybe if I just found a like minded guild I'd be able to reconnect with the game again.
I play FF14 now just because it's much easier for me to just log in and enjoy. Guess im a casual now lol, but I still enjoy the gameplay and world of WoW so much more
1:15:50 Warmane is 700% XP on all of it's realms, but you can choose to go to 1x or a bunch of other rates aswell by right clicking your XP bar.
Do they not have the x1 lordaeron realm anymore that's mandatory x1?

I wanna play WoW again, but I never managed to level my characters to max in TBC due to irl stuff that came up. Feel like I’d just be so behind and unable to find any groups because why would somebody want to invite me for anything without being max level and BiS gear. Starting completely over is kind of meh too, I’m at a standstill. Any suggestions? : (

You're not alone. That's exactly why I can't bring myself to play again. I want to though, but I'd just be behind and have issues.
I feel like you got the wrong impression of the game via this channel if you think that's all people look for. Just don't overthink it and start leveling and enjoy the experience. Pre-patch just came out with a 50% xp buff which lasts for 1 month and then the game will actually launch.
Just take the plunge and start over with everyone else on the fresh servers during this time. There is 1 for pvp and 1 pve. It's an experience leveling with so many people and you might make some friends along the way ;P
Play guild wars 2
I am new to classic, started playing when joyous journeys (50% xp buff) first started. I leveled to max and never had problems finding a party for dungeons etc. This is on an old server (atiesh). Loads of people came back after the prepatch so finding groups should
be even easier. You could even start on a fresh server. Gear doesn't matter going into a new xpax, it will be replaced pretty much instantly by quest gear. Wrath makes leveling so much easier and everything is so much cheaper.
I can’t level 1-70 again, but I will level 70-80. WoTLK raiding has me hyped. I stoped at ToC right in the middle of Ulduar when I played. Hoping to hit ICC at least once

I played vanilla WoW back in the day. Haven't touched it since then. Going from EQ to WoW, it just seemed too easy.
I have a question about Classic, I started playing back in the days pre-BC (about 2 months before), played all expacs on and off. If I play Classic now, is the game still vanilla or since there are BC and WOTLK soon to come out is the vanilla experience as it was of does vanilla get modded with the expacs coming out? Ex: talent trees, ammo, arrows, poisons for rogues and stuff like that? Thank you so much and good luck Asmon !!!
They’ve been changed a bit, but yes, all those things still exist. Ammo/arrow have a ridiculous stack size, rogues still have poisons and lock picking, reagents are still needed for spells, etc.

Guild Wars 2 is basically fun and did many things right. Maybe the best level scaling of any MMO, so you can go back and play just about any content in the game. Horizontal progression means you can take months or years off the game without repeating the stupid gear grind goose chase.
I think the problems for streamers though is that (1) no hardcore endgame and (2) they release content so slowly, there's notl bleeding edge to show off to an audience, just the same story that's been out for years and years.

@@Fulgrim_The_Phoenician there are dodge and positioning mechanics that are far more fluid than WOW. You are constantly moving and dodging in a Guild Wars 2 fight, not standing in one place spamming one or two buttons.

I absolutely love roller coasters and have ridden many hundred in my lifetime. All I can say is, I definitely understand why you wouldn't want to go, but if you only knew what you were missing. If we would have ever met each other and became friends, I'd love to be there with you and ride your first roller coaster and many more to come after that. It's a huge rush.
I dont think he would enjoy GW2. BUT it would be nice if he can try the mounts. I think they have the best version.
I love watching asmon, but I never played WoW. Do you guys think it is a good idea to start now? I'm not a big mmo guy, but loved new world.
I have this same question. I played classic when it first came out a little, it was really fun, but my friends didn't stick with it so I ended up stopping. Really thinking about hopping back in, it's definitely a really fun game from what i've seen. No mmo i've played gives me that same feeling
If you liked new world i think you'll really like wow as well. But the new expansion will drop so it might be better to wait a bit. Wow lore, classes and areas are still very fun and immersive no matter what nostalgic people say about how the golden days have passed.
