I miss being able to see that we are actually in France and get a feel for the surroundings. It can be almost anywhere.

Sounds like winter blues , enjoy your break. It will all feel and look better when the sun shines again. When we lived in France I had days sometimes weeks where it all felt too much and frankly a bit lonely. But I loved the warm spring, hot summer days and sunny autumns. Take care. See you soon.

Do what you need to reenergize yourself. Enjoy your little friend Teddy. Get out for a ride. Go to a beautiful church or art gallery. Find a quiet place to read. Anything. Just recharge your batteries.

Marc, we think the approach of taking one day at a time is the best. Yesterday is gone; lessons learned hopefully, and tomorrow is not here yet. We agree with planning a few months ahead as is practical. The present we receive each morning is the gift, the present 💐🎁. That is really all we have. You are such a good guy; we love you. If we had a son, we'd want him to be like you❤ If we had lots of resources, we'd be supporting you more❤ Teddy is so much fun to watch grow in your home with you. Don't be long...but, take a thoughtful stroll, knowing that we are all thinking about you with great kindness and heartfelt thoughts and prayers 🙏🏻❤
Marc wish you a well earned break we all need it especially nowadays, a lot of people seem very despondent have a think peacefully on the little things that make you happy. I certainly would rather be in France not knowing anyone the peace & quiet is a big pull. Stay strong fella.
i would not like it if you disapeared from youtube. i only found you lately, and have loved all i have seen of you and your cat`. you have a very engaging personality, and your frankness is very refreshing. i am an expat like you but in Spain. i wish i was bold enough, like you, to expose myself on yourube. but i love you, brother, and look forward to all you do on youtube in the future
I'm happy for you that you finally got to mow. I was just saying to my neighbor this morning while we were shoveling our driveways how much I would rather be mowing the grass!

We had a beautiful sunny day here in the North East of Scotland. It’s -5 now though . 😊
The Charente is not the easiest part to live and socialize. Friends of mine live there. Cheap to buy, lot of land, but it can be lonely. Try to visit markets, drink a coffee. For my friends it was very difficult to find somebody to help with the garden. It is an English guy and now he has a lot of work and everybody is happy. When you stay in your own bubble and only share UA-cam, it will be hard and after a while you are gonna feel it. I enjoy your video,s and hope you stay. Show us also some villages or markets in your environment. Stay calm, winter was long and soon you will see things more bright. You really have a wonderful place!
Always wishing the best for you. There are times when we just need a break. Small or large, we gain a fresh view, perspective. All about lightening the load. For me, the load is self-imposed "home projects". I don't usually go out for coffee because I can make it at home. I made an exception today and that made it special. I also saw a darling Dachshund wearing a camo raincoat. That "vision" cheered me no end. Weather-permitting, try a local adventure but do get out of the "Palace" once in a while. It will not negatively impact your "works-in-progress". I love seeing you perfect your lawn. I know that all videos are time-consuming. If content production is wearying at this time, I hope that you can share an occasional episode of "The Great Lawn of the Charente". I think you will find that so many subscribers are "invested" in it. All that perfection is reassuring (even when I didn't know I needed that). A meditative experience of sorts.

Yep take a break and do something different for a while. Concentrate on your gardening job maybe and get some cash coming in.

Hi Mark. This is the worst time of year, particularly in France. It affects the soul and income. Spring is coming soon and things will look different. Hang on there. Most people feel the same.
Please don't lose hope your crossing a bad time but will pass . You need to recharge your batteries then grab life again ❤
Good idea to take a few days break. It'll give you chance to plan a few future videos. I thought Teddy was going to get his claws clipped whilst you took the cuttings. How about a post on Teddy's videos, he's having the purrfect cat life. Take care

We all need a rest and a chance to recharge, get rid of the daily frustrations and think about what we want to achieve.
You've come so far with this project, you should be very proud of that.

Sometimes a wee break does you good. As long as you and Teddy are keeping well and have a roof and food on the table take time out. I have watched your vlog today and it had 2 long 3 min adverts on it maybe that's putting viewers off as short adverts keep attention. I hope you will recover Marc and change your mind and come back to us after a good rest. Thank you for taking the time out making vlogs it is much appreciated.
Marc, you're going to make a "master gardener" out of Teddy yet! Do what ever makes you happy! I enjoy your vlogs! You could sell your cuttings! I know what you mean about loving your piece of land but not where it is! Me too, love my little sanctuary but dislike where it is situated! Stay safe and warm!

Breaks are good! Everyone needs a change of scenery once in a while... or a change in the daily schedule.
I'm sure in a few weeks when your clients contact you again to cut their grass, you will start feeling good in yourself, especially when you start collecting your hard-earned money! :)

I’m not too sure Marc will want to hear that advice however kindly you have intended it. I’m just baffled at how he thought he could survive without an actual income. I’d really love to know. If he had money life would be much easier and he wouldn’t be “having a chat” every video. He’s a fabulous gardener and brilliant plants man. I do feel for you Marc, we all get a bit lost sometimes. Do what you’ve got to do, but most folks have a lot going on just now.💕🌈💕Please take this as a positive that’s how it’s meant❤️

After a difficult day I often think about how I could just live a simpler life in France like yours. I find with the arrival of Spring and better weather my mood improves and my perspective does change.
I think personally having purpose is the healthiest default state of people and if we do have a too simple life without growth or direction it can lead to malaise.
If you do decide to stop posting, please let us know from time to time how you are. I wish you the best!

Why cut grass in winter? If it suddenly goes under -4 it will die?
We all need a wee holiday from life, takes some time off and re- group perhaps think about showing more of where you live. Even just one video a week is okay 😊

Hi Marc. You seem to be very up and down recently. One day you're saying how wonderful life is then the next video it's all doom and gloom. This is not a criticism because I am the same and even today I stopped, looked up at the "crystal blue sky" and reminded myself how lucky I am to be here. I think many people think UA-cam could be a means to an end but you can't depend on it and, like you say, your time may be better invested elsewhere. Back in the day I created an internet café on the canal du midi and after a while I looked at how much time we had to be there and the paltry hourly income and closed it down to better use the space for our chambre d'hôtes. I think your idea of a break is a good one to reflect on mindfulness and what the alternatives are. Bonne réflexion 🙏
Perhaps it’s time to look for jobs to do that pay you. You could put out advert flyers to be a handy man . I am sure one is needed in your surrounding villages . Worth a try 🤗
I noticed UA-cam is changing dramatically. I see a lot of people spending more time on X with the TicTok videos. I have lost all my favorite channels on UA-cam except for 5. If you go I will be down to 4. The content is changing dramatically. Really not much interesting on there any more.
Yeah didn't know that because I have never had x, so that is good to know.
