In Wales they are called Tylwyth Teg (Fair Family). It sounds like they don`t want what mother nature has done to their wood to be disturbed. They allow you to have a path into it, so you can have a glimpse into their world but they want to keep their wood to themselves. How lovely!!
That is my perception, also.
The twisted hazel looks spectacular. It's just doing its own thing.
@@chickenlady3155 Yes, agree with you there. Stunning..
Gorgeous poncho! Glad everything's back in order.
Totally off topic, but can I say how great your hair is looking! How have you managed to look younger with your grey coming in?!
Oh thank you! Skin tone maybe?
I agree! Your hair is beautiful! I’ve been trying to let my grey hair grow out and FINALLY it’s cooperating! I love it! I wear mine similar to yours. The women in my family have gorgeous grey hair once they stopped coloring it!
I thought exactly the same!
Her ability to adjust & thrive
Said exactly the same when saw ut was up
I have beautiful memories of toasting crumpets and chunky bread on my Nana's big old fire that had an oven to one side of it. She had only one cold running tap in the pantry with a tin bath nestling underneath the selves in there too, which she dragged out and filled up once a week with water she'd painstakingly heated up on the fire so she could have a nice bath. The toilet was outside too, across a quaint little cobbled back yard that housed her rain barrel just outside her back door. She was pretty much self sufficient back in the day and in these strangely troubled times I think we definitely need to be thinking about getting back to that.
Glad you're all sorted though x
My Grandparents cottage was the same. We lived in a house in the same village & as a child I remember my Grandparents coming to our house for a bath when they got older.
You are wonderful
We are grateful for you sharing your busy simple life…heavenly!
I'm so happy to see your power on! Smart, beautiful, powerful woman!!!❤❤❤
Airflow & natural light! Have a Beautiful Day Colette & Patsy ❤🦋🌹🐝🪷
We never know our own strength until placed in situations that require us to draw from it.
Colette dear, I feel the same. I must say I think people these days have forgotten what it means "to gird your loins". Thank you for your wonderful video! I needed a bit of peace this morning.Thank you for sharing your peace with us.
You look beautiful . Settling down to listen now. Thankyou for sharing your updates, and yourself and Patsy xx
So glad you have power! Colette your home is beautiful. Love you darling little dog! I have one exactly like her!!
Patsy is living the life she always dreamed of!
good morning Colette and Patsy cheers ..glad you all made it thru the storm ..blessed be all..overgrow overshare overcare overseed everywhere worldwide ...cheers all your looking good Colette have a grand week everyone ...
Really like your perspective on how to manage the "damage" done by the storm. We lost our farmhouse to fire two years ago and I have been curious and delighted to see how our space has changed since the house was torn down and a "wee" cottage rebuilt. (Much better for this season of our lives) I see spaces that we spent much more time in/on prefire that are looking much more natural and generally have found we use the space differently. Like you, we are on a journey of discovery to see where our spaces go.
I love the smell of burning apple tree wood too, a real sweet smell ❤
Great to see you looking so well.
Great to see you back to power again Collette.
Returning after a long spell away due to losing my parents and a sister. What a joy to return to your lovely, frost sprinkled, beautiful woodland, Blessings X:)
Welcome back! May you find peace and reassurance after your deep loss xxx Blessings Colette and Patsy
Patsy at 13:41 is how I feel at work today minus the cosy fire 🔥 ❤
Powers back on, the sun is shining & your hair looks great.😊😊
Regarding the Fairy wood. As a child, I was drawn to the woods. I found the woods that were undisturbed by humans to be a very mystical place. There's an energy, feeling, that can't be described. At 65, I've been slowly drawn back into it. As life slows down, I'm able to feel it more and more. I'm grateful for this. Your spring well is a very big piece of that energy. Blessings to you, and I'm glad you made it through the storm and have power back. I dearly love seeing little Miss Patsy enjoying the fire and her life there with you. Terriers are hard to control, so it's important to have her on a leash when outdoors. I've had terriers over the years and understand that issue.
Those daffodils certainly do give off a light of their own! Light and hope! The changes in the fairy wood are always interesting. It never seems random or normal growth like in the other areas. It appears creative and purposeful, and always with sheltering in mind. That wood has no need or desire for what's outside it.
Thank you I am going through a bit of a tough time at the moment.... you just calm my soul
Glad I could help…hope everything works through okay.
You look so pretty today. Your grey hair looks so good on you, Collette! It makes your blue eyes sparkle!
Love the crocheted poncho! ♥
Hello Collette can I just say how well your looking, your hair is gorgeous, I'm glad you are ok after the storm ❤️😊
Hi Colette, I'm so pleased to hear that you now have power! Must be such a relief! Blessings to you and little Patsy ❤❤
So happy to hear your power has been restored. I smiled about the fairy woods, we have an area on our property of almost 5 acres and we have this spot that my daughter and niece ( like a second daughter) call their secret garden. It's in a horseshoe shape only a small trail going around no matter how many times I clear the foliage it comes back so I let it be just that. The girls are absolutely drawn to it, it's their favorite place to play. Have a wonderful day. Blessings.
Bonjour Colette and little Patsy...what a lovely light throughout your vlog! And that fairy wood!!! glorious nature . Living your best life ! strong and free in all aspects. you are an example for all of us women out there. Stay in your power! Strong women indeed you are. ~ ginette 🇨🇦
pS...and as many pointed it out, you do look radiantly younger with your natural hair color.
I’ve been blessed just twice to see the elemental beings that inhabit our natural world. You are so lucky to live in your wonderful woodland.
I now live in a terrace bungalow on a housing estate with a tiny concrete garden, but I am doing my best to keep my spiritual self in contact with nature. I managed to break up enough concrete to plant a small rowan tree for protection. The only bird that comes to the garden is a herring gull with only one usable leg, so he gets breakfast every morning and hopefully in time more birds will come.
The weather is very much like the American Pacific Northwest that I love so much...😊
Colette, just take the red ribbon off your wreath to lose some of the holiday feel, and it will be beautiful for you for a while longer!
Patsy has the life of Riley, comfy sofa, glowing fire.
I’ve been wondering if Patsy knows she’s a dog??? I never dared tell my Maggie she was a dog, I was afraid the shock would kill her. When I told her she was adopted, she was on the couch for six months!! Poor little thing was a mess:). Bless her little heart. Also, your hair looks great. Love the style and colour!!! Happy to hear you’re power is back on:). Have a great weekend!
Love that shawl/poncho you have on--great colors!
It's wonderful when fairies make themselves known to us! You have provided a wonderful spot, and they thank you for their home.
You,the cottage, the woodland are all springing back with new vigour after the storm. This energy and beauty you are sharing is giving us great hope. Thank you
The Faerie Wood.. Over the years of watching, I believe I came to find you somewhere in year 13 I believe... and back then the Faerie Wood stone circle had a particular hold on me .. I truly marveled at this spot.. the willow arches were pretty magical , along with those boulders. They seem to offer a meeting place for us and Them.. and the wonderful oak that was planted in the center as place of honor in the circle .. I truly to feel that not only would the paths be respected and welcomed, that the now the new light that is shining on Bealtaine by some of the trees making way for the new light, that the circle would be welcomed and respected.. It is a place where the joy of meeting and reveling in the beauty and appreciation of nature being served by your guardianship and by you creating and then sharing that spot we are all being served .. may the spring shine! 🌿
You are a longtime friend 😊
💥BEAUTIFUL SHAWL💥
So happy that your power is on again, Collette.
Have you ever thought of knitting a wee coat for Patsy to wear when its very cold, like today, with all that frost?!!
Blessings to you.
Patsy has several coats which she wears on various long walks
Lovely to see you back😊
I must say dear friend, You look great! (Loving your hair). Being “off grid” is a good thing. Early to bed and early to rise…hard work during the daylight hours; you wear it well. 🙏❤️😊
Beautiful video
I like the way you say you "thrive on your own". That's a good way to put it and it is a no excuse way to put it. More women should use that. I know I will.
what a beautiful Haven you have. The birdsong is beautiful!
Thank goodness you have your power back. I agree with others, your hair looks fab. Everywhere as neat as a pin. I'm still tidying my own home! 🙃 Beautiful sunshine here in Northampton. Lifts the spirits and I can feel spring coming on. Blessings Colette. 🤗
Your faery woodland looks like a portal.🤔♥️
Lovely video ❤
13:37 🤗 😊
Made me smile when you said, “I’m so grateful!”
Blessings ✨💝✨

And yes I love the daffs too, very happy looking..Take Care☺️👋P.s you have an absolute stunning site.
Dear Colette there's orbs visible in your home 💖✨ and the magical fairy wood has a new house in it. Evidence of the woodland folk feeling so comfortable. 🌿☘️You have blessed your home and land by living so close to Mother Earth 💕 Love & Blessings from the Midwest USA
Saw that fluttering, glimmering girl in the wood. You protect her, she protects you.🧚🏻
The fairy wood is calling me. I am looking forward to spring and this is bursting with those vibes. So thankful you are back and safe with lil one!😍
Glad you and Patsy made it through the storm ok x
Your hair is beautiful Colette x
Glad you weren't harmed ❤
Love love love your hair. It's suits you. Lovely lady, lovely life.
So agree!
Wow, the fairy wood looks very purposely arranged by the fairy folk. Very defined entrances to a safe haven for them. How lucky that you are a steward for them. Thank you for such a beautiful video. Enjoy your day❤
ohhh nooo!!! I am immediately distracted by your beautiful granny square jumper!!!!!!!!!!! Everything else is wonderfully good now that that jumper is in my mind! Take care, you 2!
Collette, every time you film around the cabin I see something I hadn't noticed before. Your home is so lovely. Thank you for keeping us update on the woods. Glad your power is back on.
Love your hair! So glad everything is almost back to normal for you and Patsy.
Your cottage and garden are always food for the soul😍😍😍
"You don't clean up nature, you just work with her. " Watching you these last few months had changed the way I look at my own 10 acres. There are piles of brush at the edges of wooded areas that I always hated and felt needed to be removed for tidyness. Now when I look at them, I see them as natural homes for the wee critters. I love basking in the energy of woodlands. I'm glad you've gotten power returned, and are back to normal. LOVE your sweater!
After watching so many of your garden videos over the years, I just want to say how lovely yours is. Nature takes care of itself and will always step in even without assistance, but you've been the enabler here and you've created a wonderful magical place. I think she likes you very much.
So lovely to see you well and safe! Was so looking forward to see you. Love your house, by the way.Take care! xxx
You know Collette, we were once without power for over 2weeks. It was a huge storm in our area. One area that was the first to get power back had a set back. Someone was involved in a car accident and took out a main pole with their vehicle. I can only imagine how upset those people were. It did st least occur in the spring however, we lost hundreds of dollars in food thst was in our freezer.
What I have discovered is this is the time to concentrate on the small, innocent things. My prayers for you as you experience your cabin dry. I spent time in Alaska with no services ie water/electric. It teaches us how to survive. That we can. Blessings
Wow, at last…so pleased you finally have electricity, but you managed so well with Patsy for company and your Stanley stove for hot water, heating and of course spiritual support. ❤
magical! Good to feel snug and warm when coming in from the cold! I am so glad you and Patsy had each other for company on those cold morning walks! My Granny when I was little, use to make a special breakfast just bacon and toast, but she would fry the bread crisp in a bit of the bacon drippings. I was too little to learn how she did it, but it was so good! I can still remember waking up to the scent of bacon and coffee and toast! My mom never got the knack of it so we never learned. Your toasting the bread by the fire brought the memory back.. I suppose you could do a vegan version but I think it was something Granny learned as a post WWI war bride here on the 🇨🇦 prairies.
It is wonderful to see you thriving through all of this. As I had no doubt you would. You do appear very radiant lately. Great news on your electric being restored. Blessings, Collette.
Pretty poncho! Happy your power is on.
I thought about you!! Last thursday we had a flash Ice storm and a branch went thru a dormer on my roof!!! I have a huge rotten Maple tree that exploded and my front entrance is blocked till the insurance people can get here. I am not a crybaby but i have cried this past week!!!! I am a witch about my garden lol and you are a sister of the heart for me in Ireland!!! I am your age also!!! You gave me courage!!
This must be very upsetting for you, but do you remember that it will pass and fade into a memory of your own resilience in getting through. Blessings to you and those you love XXX Colette and Patsy.
@@bealtainecottage Thank-you !
I am amazed at the fairy wood and how all the trees and bushes have the most beautiful and magical twists and bends to them. The way everything just winds and tangles together makes it all look like an enchanted forest.
Okayyy the hair is amazing!!! The silver makes those eyes pop!
Your cheery laughter in the face of challenges and your way of always coming back ‘round to gratitude are forever inspiring to me and heart enriching. The fairies live and dash about in your gardens, safe and full of mirth!
So pleased to see you are both ok and have electricity again. Your garden looks peaceful now. So many different birds in your garden, so many different songs, just beautiful to hear, thank you for sharing 🌲
Maravilhoso ter você de volta e seu lar especial.
Thank you, Colette, for walking us around your gardens. I'm so glad the electricity came back on for you. Loving your hair. It fits you. Hugs and love to Patsy and you ❤
I am so glad you have your power back on. Blessings to you and Patsy.
Oh Collette - you look absolutely lovely !! so very well - beautiful!! I love your hair too and you’re top!! Gorgeous. I going to look at rest of the video now 😊 xx Liverpool xx
Im so glad you've got your power back. You're right Colette it makes us count our blessings. Looking at your lovely tidy doorsyep, i remember my Gran on her hands and knees putting that red polish on her doorstep, oh the good old days. 😂
Do you remember that red stuff. I do ? 😊
It's lovely to have you back. What a magical place for the fae folk to reside. Blessings xxx
I'm so relieved your power is back, Colette!
Collette - thank you for reminding me to feed the birds. You are more beautiful than ever and are loved and blessed. "Warm" regards.
Your property seems to have weathered the storm. It looks lovely with the sun shining upon it.
You always emanate a powerful yet serene inner beauty, but you are looking especially smashing today. Your hair color and style are simply gorgeous!
I live in a village in Surrey and we have lots of ancient woods around here. My husband and I would love to walk there but we always find it very spooky. The Woodland Folk are always present and we can feel them all around us.
If you bring offerings to them of flowers or food or milk or even whiskey, you will find a welcome in the woods
Listen to The Modern Fairy Sightings Podcast, you will love it!
@radicalcartoons2766 I love that too!
I'm so glad you are ok and your power has returned. I love your silver hair. It really suits you. Hanging on by threads here in the US just waiting for the next catastrophe. Thank God for your videos to provide the much needed hope and serenity. Blessings.
Maybe the garden is experiencing a sense of calm after the storm, resetting for spring and time for renewal. According to Patsy on the sofa, everything is good in the world. From the U.S., so as you can imagine, that is a big relief.
The Fairy Wood is so beautiful, I was so moved by it. There is a very quiet presence there which seems to be watching. It feels as if its very protective of its space which maybe was lost and now has been restored, firstly by you and then by the storm. The wood feels ancient, as if its always been there x
Well, Collette, besides looking very clean, you look lovely! Your hair, your clothes and your beautiful pendant -- so charming! And I'm so happy for you that you finally have power! At about 6:36 min. in your video there appears to be something flying across the screen toward a shrub. It looks like two bright dots, illuminated by the sun. And again, another fluttering at about 10:58 min. above the arbor. Though it could be a trick of the light. And at 14:26 min., a moth flying -- in freezing weather! That's surprising. And the root ball of the trees that fell in the fairy wood appears to be a new shelter for ?? Yes, it does look like a little portal. As chaotic as it is, the fairy wood looks more beautiful than ever. Blessings to you and Patsy. 💗
Your hair looks amazing, Collette! Love the color! 😍 Glad you have your power back on. Be well! Blessings Always 💚🙏💙🌍☘️🦋🌹💖🪷
I have to say Collette your hair looked beautiful this morning, it’s amazing how still everything was after the storm had passed, glad you finally have your power back on too❤️
I'm delighted that you have finally got your power back.
In many ways!!
My favourite memories toasting bread on a long black iron fork with me brother Thomas in front of me Ninny Maloneys blackleaded range on a cold day in Liverpool, it was so cosy, miss them both I'm 75 now living in Western Australia. Interestingly mams dad had cottage in Western Ireland. ❤😊
Colette, thank you for allowing the camera to rest in the wee minx relaxing by the fire! Oh, how I love to watch her. The woodland is beautiful. I wish I could be there to smell it, as well… ❤
I Paused at 4:08 to ponder the Fairy Wood... I feel they are very busy, and I do feel so much joy about your garden, the fairy folk that live there and work with you and beyond. Does anyone else feel this strong emergence of Mother Nature taking a deep breath? she is so strong and knowing . I know it is Imbolc that is one multilayer of feeling yet there is something else that feels very new and there is rejoicing in the depths of Earth and her Place in the Heavens... Burdens are being lifted off of her even though it appears horrible, She has moved into some Greater Glory and we as souls sharing this Home must catch up. Some how, Some way? Blessed be.
