Hello 😄 The way you sorted out eBay really made me laugh! 🤣 Very clever! 👍 🐈⬛ Cat's don't kill chickens.🐓 They might kill baby chicks 🐥 but for some reason they don't kill adult chickens...so, no need to worry about Teddy doing anything like that.🙂 And, of course Teddy is going to be a little scared of his new 'outdoor' surroundings, until he susses out noises, sights and smells. It's just part of the process of learning. So, do more harness walking around the perimeter of your land with him to reassure him that it's not scary and he'll be fine to let wander independently after that. You have to let children fly the nest at some point! 🐈⬛😉
Just to say that strimming is not kind to a poorly back. I have one and even sweeping and vacuuming doesn't do it any favours. Your walking is good for you and time to heal. Hope it gets better soon. Patience is a virtue !! 😊
I’m finished with eBay too! I bought binoculars via eBay es in October, which were dispatched from Germany at the end of November! After replying to a questionnaire from customs in Madrid, said binoculars still haven’t arrived….my postman said “ mucho paciencia Adeline, mucho paciencia” ! Never again!! Teddy’s loud voice comes from his Siamese mother….my late Siamese loved going for walks with her harness too Marc…Once he gets beyond kitten hood, he’ll be a wonderful companion! 😊
In my community you can't hang clothes outside to dry. I miss having a clothes line and having fresh wind blown sun dried sheets. People are so stuck up and act like clothes don't get dirty, people don't want to see clothes drying, weird. My grandmother (born in 1900) taught me to hang sheets, blankets, towels, tablecloths etc. On the outer portions of the clothes line and to put personal items in the interior, to keep bras and underwear out of sight. No one should feel offended by laundry or think drying it outside is trashy or low class, but they do, unfortunately. If I ever stockade fence my small yard my sheets will be blowing in the wind!
I think you’re doing really well with the resources you have. That eBay solution was ingenious- not sure I would have thought of that! I keep my home at 18 degrees Celsius - and I crank it up sometimes to 20 when I’m feeling cold. My gas (heating) bill is around the same as your electricity bill per month …
Hello There Marc and Teddy , Hope you are Both well , Great video and Hope your Back gets better soon , Your Garden is looking Good , Teddy may be okay with the chickens ,we Had a Cat and Chickens , cat used to dive on them then chickens chased cat and times when chickens pecked cats tail , but they all got on well ,just playing , even sat in the garden together , with the dogs , LOL, and Rabbits , nice to see you have the sun , well All Looking Good , Keep up your Great work , Take care Both , 🐈⬛ 🌄🌞👍👍
That was very clever , I wouldn't know where to start ,I have this tablet and only know how to use messenger utube and I have an app for learning French , oh and I managed to Google something a couple of times , one of my older sons said I was computer illiterate , my reply was well if the Internet goes down I will survive you won't , I think its amazing what you can do , and if teddy feels safe with his harness on with you why not ❤❤🖤 oh we had some snow before I went to bed someone stole it and replaced it with rain 😊
It's 1 degree here but we have got about 3 inches of snow. Love your glasses they look great on you. I've hurt the back of my shoulder, the wind blew 2 of our bins over so I picked them up, the next day I have the pain, it seems to have eased off a bit today Sunday but yesterday I kept having pain in spasms it was awful. I must have sprained or strained something I expect. Xx
Your glasses look great, all new glasses feel weird to begin with. Ah! The siamese voice... :) Teddy is doing great on his harness, you could get one I of those retractable leads so he can be a little more independent. You could perhaps attach it to something and allow him to be close to you while you work but not endanger himself or anything.
I don't do ebay any more. Your right to trust your instincts over the sale of your camera. Great way to deal with cancelling the sale. Cats don't kill chickens and mother hens are scary in defence of their young, they'll attack foxes. It's snowing heavily here in Northern UK [5th Jan] 4 ins deep already in our rural area just outside Liverpool.
Teddy will get used to the harness & the outdoors is so good for him .... people are taking their cats on kayaks, bicycles, traveling, etc., with using a harness. Plus keeps bird of prey not zooming in on him! Here's to 2025!
Glasses are rather nice. I have a list as long as my arm, the weather has been pants, and I'm in a bit of a cheese coma. I need to find some enthusiasm from somewhere.
Your glasses look fine. What camera/video do you use in your videos? Is it the same as one of the ones you mended? How much would you be asking for one of them, if its the same as the ones you use for filming?
A chicken or rooster always wins over a cat. Between 20 and 40 chickens live on one of our properties. Neighboring cats walk on the walls and in the gardens every day. Never a problem
Of course you can keep a cat on a lead! Why ever not? 🤔 We have never had a cat/chicken incident, FWIW. And... it's warmed up to -16°C today! 😊 Glasses look great, and if you can see better, bonus!
Why not go and ask the neighbours? They sure know more about the local weather, climate and the way to deal with it in the kind of house you are living in than people who comment your videos while being hundreds or thousands of kilometres away from your place in completely different surroundings, including me. Interestingly the sound of your videos must be very good and high fidelity because I’ve also got a black Teddy, only born in 2020 instead of 2024, and anytime yours meows mine raises his head and looks for the cat that has just made himself heard.
Your glasses look fine. How about thinking of putting in a wood burning cooker in your new kitchen. I know they are not cheap and you’ll have to do an outside chimney that is possible as it’s an outside wall, your house isn’t extremely high so the piping is minimized, sometimes you see those poujoulat pipes on the boncoin. It could be a long term objective??? That way you’d transform your kitchen into a warm space that would provide heat for your living area too. In winter you can use it to cook too win win.

Good plan on the harness for Teddy. Stay safe.
Your glasses look great Marc.
Thank you Carol :--)

Bigger lenses are in style now so you're looking right stylish.
I don't think I've ever been stylish :-)

Thanks for taking the time to comment Sindy.... Stay cosy and warm 🙂
I'm with you-if a cat is outside, please use a harness.

Grey skies are terrible for enthusiasm :-)
@GoingsoloinFrance Snow and first day back at work...dark when I leave and dark when I return. Roll on Spring!
Hi, where are u living in France ? Near Bordeaux, Perpignan ? I go every summer near Roanne
Foxes et al might find Teddy tasty, so the harness is good I think

You can find good used Panasonic cameras on ebay for around £100. All of my cameras are the same.
I never buy on eBay. Teddy will settle down soon.

Is Facebook Marketplace not popular in France for selling secondhand? Or what about Leboncoin?
I don't speak French well enough really.

Birds of prey in the Charente take cats regularly
Have you tried an Osteopath for your back? Worth checking it out.
