When I was a kid, our home go-to wash up if we came into contact with poison ivy was Fels Naphtha Soap! (I think that's how you spell it) It came in a bar---and my Mom always said it helped dry out the oil and remove it better. I never got poison ivy as a kid, so either I'm not really allergic to it---or it worked!
It's sad how many homes end up empty and just sit until they're not livable anymore. We could do better in this country to help out those who need it. Keep at it, Spencer, you are an inspiration and an encouragement. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Beautiful work once again! Being involved in church ministry I couldn't help but notice two churches, one to the left of the property and it looks like one across the street. It is amazing that no one from these churches thought of beautifying their community by cleaning up the yard of this house. But thank goodness the world has you Spencer! Keep showing hope, light and grace.
😂I have yet to find a church that practices what it preaches. Much less do what Spencer or anyone else does. Sorry, just my opinion. Every church should have an outreach ministry to help the elderly and do yard work or soup kitchens or Habitat for Humanity.
That church looks like it uses the yard next door as the dumping ground. There are fresh cuts on the trees on the church side and a pile of branches on the house side. Pure laziness.
Love your new truck!! You are a smart man to put good tires on it right from the start. Doing a job well requires having the right equipment. Congrats!
Such a nice neighborhood clearly well kept the yards and two churches nearby what a shame that no one could show up to help maintain this property. This is the decline of neighborhoods, kindness and basic human decency. Thank you Spencer
It's a cute little house, I can't believe the neighbors didn't keep it cut since there are obviously no occupants and affects the looks of their property. My neighbor died 3 yrs ago and I've kept the 2 acres cut ever since, since it's tied up in probate with no one living there.
I did the same. The Fire cheif showed up and asked who had been mowing it. I said I have and if I go to jail for it that's okay because I have to live beside it. He laughed and thanked me and told me how many they had to try and keep up with. 2008 and 9 was a bad year for a lot of people 😢
Hey, if anything else, if somehow enough time goes by, you can have it as all yours due to adverse possession. Due be sure to document all the work you have been doing for the place. Depending on many other factors, the new owners might just end up not doing anything with it. So it could become yours, legally speaking. At the same time, if they need someone to maintain the lawn, you have proof to show that you can handle it just fine and get paid to keep at it; which will end the time frame for adverse possession but still a bit more pocket money.
Some people are more susceptible to or more immune to poison ivy. If someone who is immune would volunteer to help you, that would be the complete package. I admire your hard work and generosity.
And once again only half a job done because of Poison Ivy. If you have that much of a problem with it, maybe you should find a different line of work. You always just do abandoned properties, and you're not fooling anyone. You know exactly what to look for. Why is it that you never ever actually help families or seniors in need. What a shame!
@PhyllisHannah if it makes you have a hissy fit, you might want to get out there and do it yourself. Some people have a very bad reaction to poison ivy.
@EmprezzWakanda1962 well said! People are so quick to bitch and complain about someone else's work. It's disgusting! Spencer did a great job, especially since the neighbors nor the churches will do f**k all.
Thanks for your hard work and helping the community. Neighbors: Get to know your neighbors. It costs nothing to introduce yourself and occasionally speak to a neighbor. Let this be your season of positive change.
You are a blessing to these neighborhoods for doing great service. Clearing the yards not only of a sitely mess! But from the flees and tics and rodents. Great job, Spencer! Glad that you have some wonderful new sponsors, too! 🙏
I watched M&D Lawn care of Houston here in Texas and when they come across a yard full of poison ivy the wear those white hazmat suits. Good job as always.
Oh my that yard was very overgrown. And stay safe Spencer we know you’re allergic to poison ivy. Great job Spencer and have a great weekend with Ms. SB.
Great job Spencer. I can't believe how many of you guys that do this kind of work are allergic to poison ivy. I used to get after my son and his cousin because they literally played in it when they were young. He can still mess with it and not have any issues. Too bad you all can't find something to help you out with it. I can tell it bothers you when you can't finish a job. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 and Happy New Year 🎉
As he was removing the branches around the 9:00 mark, I was wondering if maybe some of the neighbors may have used this as a sort of dump site for some of their yard trimmings, especially when there was no grass beneath them.
The irony of being across the street from a church, and not a single parishioners thought to good a good deed of cleaning up the neighborhood. Wow. You did good. Stay safe Spenser
I find it surprising that you are surprised by that! It seems to me that churches often draw the “vocal” christians, but not the “helpful” christians! 🤷♂️
@grahamstretch6863 so glad I escaped those cults 20+ years ago. If i wasn't in heart failure with a broken back, Id be using my own personal riding lawnmower to clean up neighborhood houses for free.
If you've ever been covered with poison ivy you'd know how painful it is. I did a good deed for someone and got covered with poison ivy rash. A trip to urgent care and several weeks of dealing with the rash ....not fun.
@RG-ce5hj my father is extremely allergic. For some reason it doesn't even effect me. The doctors were like your allergic to alot of things but poison ivy not so much. Therefore I was regulated to riding the lawnmower in the back 40 around the tree line and neighbors yards. I enjoyed the quiet
I just saw a video yesterday of a pastor that got arrested while he was watering someone's plants while they were out of town. Someone called the police saying he was "suspicious" and they arrested him! 😮 For watering flowers! What is this world coming to??
I watch M&D lawn care and they are great. They just did a lawn that was full of poison ivy and poison oak and they put on disposable white suits over their clothes and were able to do the Hugh job and not get infected.
Well call them up and get 'em on it then!!! Dont watch Spencer if you're just going to complain. Get going and do some yourself! This place looks amazing hell of a lot better than it did!
There is a product called Tecnu that has a lotion you can only wear for about 4 hours before washing it off to prevent poison ivy oil from sticking to your skin
I'm always amazed at how some people only think about themselves. I'm 78 y/o and not only do I keep up my yard with an old fashioned push mower, but I do my neighbors as well even though she's much younger than I. If I didn't do hers, it would never get done. Guess some people are just plain lazy.😊
So ... Leaving it how it was would be better lol dirt and grass clippings decompose in a few weeks and fertilize the grass I'm sure it will be fine... Maybe you should go out and do some volunteer work sometime and we can nit pick your work 😂
This is more than “the right thing” when it isn’t anything he is doing that is just “the right thing” when he goes and searches for places to do! Wish he was my neighbor. Not to clean up my yard but just to have the care and integrity to do what he does to make our world better!
As always, incredible job Spencer! Please take care of your lungs 🫁 my friend! Glad to see you are protecting your neck! We want you to have a long and healthy life! God bless, and have a very Merry Christmas!
Now, this next question is just for information gathering: say the back yard didn't have a lot of junk that needed to be moved before you mowed, would you be able to just mow through the poison ivy without it affecting you, or would it be when cleaning your equipment later that the oils would get on you and cause problems? I have a particular problem with p.i. in one of my flower beds, so I sometimes just mow over it to keep it low; but, then, I don't touch the mower bare-handed when cleaning it later.
I remember that in a previous video he mentioned that he's so allergic that the oils seem to find a way to get to him no matter what he does. The cleanup after is extra tough for him too. And his wife, I'm sure! I got it so many times growing up while running around in the big fields and forests in MN that I seem to have a high resistance now.
Yes yes show us you pulling people out in the snow. My husband and I use to do that when we lived in AK. I miss AK but not the cold. Thank you so much for all you do have a wonderful Christmas! Enjoy the time with family and make wonderful memories! 😊😊
Or the neighbors helping out once in a while. I *am* that neighbor and I have done different neighbors yards on this block for the last 37 years! No brag, just fact
It's called trespassing, and they might get arrested if they do. You need a permit, or permission to do anything on someone else's property today. I am speaking from experience. A few years ago I tried to clear some brush that grew on my neighbors' property, but hovered over my driveway, car, and roof. I tried to cut it down, while temporarily stepping on their side of the bushes, so they called the police on me. I was told by the police not to set foot on my neighbors' property, but I was allowed to cut the brush that grew over my property. It was back breaking work, since it's a 150 feet long property line between us, and all of it was one big jungle. I finally had a 6 foot tall fence built between our properties. I paid over $10,000 for it, which drained my savings, but it was worth it. Peace at last.
Thanks Spencer for always doing the right thing... helping out a neighborhood that has some how just turned a blind eye on a property needing to be rescued. The "lifeguard of lawns!" Thanks again for saving it from drowning!❤🌿🙏👏
Understand afraid of poison ivy But could have at least used hand held battery clipper to cut heavy vine closer to ground to kill out growth upon the house!
Looks SOOO much better Mr SB!! ❓I have posted this question before but no answer...considering ~85% of people are allergic to urushiol (the oil in poison ivy) how do people safely get rid of overgrown patches or fields of it? I know if you spray it with weed killer the oil remains for a long time afterwards. Do you have to call a specialist and if so how do they do it? Especially in a backyard with narrow access.🌿
I noticed what looks like a beer bottle starting around the 11:45 - 11:50 mark. He mowed over it and looks like he broke it. That’s probably what caused his tire to go flat.
Great work. Have you thought of getting a hazmat suit so you can complete yards? M&D lawn care decided to get hazmat suits because they run into a lot of poison ivy too.
Hi Spencer 👋 regarding the whole poison ivy...Can you buy a gallon of spray poison, spray that one week, go back a week later to mow it? But, you also need to wear goggles, face covering and a hazmat suit. I know that sounds funny, but I have seen other lawn transformers do that!!
You do an outstanding job on whet you o, and well appreciated doing them for free, the only thing is most of the yards you do have poison ivy and you are allergic to that, it wouid be nice to see complete yards finished , But GREAT JOB
In the winter time could you ever go back to previous houses and clean up the poison ivy you could not do in the growing seasons? Thanks for all you posts and hard work.
Spencer I love you videos I even watch ones I already have seen ...you are a blessing to everyone especially the community ...God bless my friend and have a Merry Christmas
Awesome work as usual! Always so impressed with what you do. I am always amazed that no one ever offers to help you, I mean just people from the neighborhood just rake up after you or something. God bless you and the work you do!
Thanks for bringing that place out of the "jungle" category. Refinding the mowing edges was good. A nice boost for the neighbors. Thank you for all your work this year and best wishes for your holiday time.
What I still would love to see for a future property where someone lives there, but is struggling to maintain it: 1. You mow it and detail it as you usually do. 2. Days later, you pressure wash the property, to get rid of dark stains and other growth. 3. A follow-up mowing that could go quickly, since edging and other details were recently done. This would allow a multi-day before and after, where we see lots overgrowth in the first set. Then we see things trimmed down to a reasonable level, but where the grass that is left still tends to be yellow/brown, since it's the part near the ground of what was overgrown plants. Then we see things brightened up, but still tends to be wet in the end. Then we see the greener grass that developed over perhaps a 2-week time period. I think it could look amazing, then. As a bonus, if a property has poison ivy or lots of weeds that make it even harder to maintain, if you either got certification to spray such things yourself, or you paid someone to spray such stuff, it would make it even easier to maintain. Even if that was only once in a season/year, that could be really cool. If a property had too many weeds, then perhaps even seed a lawn with something that would resist weeds. If put in the right sequence, these could even further make for a remarkable transformation, although it would cost extra and take more time. Ideally, if it then led to someone being able to maintain their own again, going back late in the season or the next year to see it kept up properly would be amazing. Also, regarding the weeds, I appreciate channels like this that show those weeds at times. I used to have poison ivy in various spots on my property. Only after a few years did I realize I had so much. I systematically eliminated most of it. But I noticed stuff in the front and side tended to come back more than anywhere else. Just this past summer, I realized my neighbor had tons of it near their driveway in the front. I assume it went to seed each year and spread back to my yard after I would wipe mine out. If there was some awareness focused on getting rid of that stuff early in the season before it goes to seed, it would really help get such stuff under control, even in yards that are maintained better. I love your videos. Keep it up. I just thought I'd make a suggestion for more significant transformations. Even the first 3 steps would allow a greener, brighter look that makes use of what you do on both of your channels.
Buen trabajo Espenser lastima te haga tanto daño esa hiedra venenosa tan comun en esas casas para limpiarla toda te kedo muy bien el frente eres el mejor abrazo fuerte
SP, I too have a allergic reaction to poison Ivy!!! I gotta tell ya, You have such an Incredible Work Ethic!! I admire You So Much for the Work That You Do!!! If nothing else just helping out neighborhoods with unsightly yards & helping the Elderly!!! Keep Up The Great Content!!!!
Hi Spencer....love your channel. You know last week I was watching a yard transformation video from another channel and they had a really really bad case of poison ivy and poison oak and they used disposable hazmat suites and face masks and they made a great transformation. Try considering having a couple of those disposable suites in your truck in case you find these poisonous plants in your videos. ❤❤❤
I'm sure neighbors are happy that it's cut down. Neighbors should be taking care of the lawn so it doesn't get tall and become a rat, mouse, snake infested yard.
Thank you Spencer for all of your hard work and dedication to giving. I love watching your videos. Merry Christmas and Many Blessings to you and your family.
45% vinegar kills poison ivy while you watch, the only thing is you need a vinegar sprayer as it eats the seals on a regular sprayer the first use. Awesome work, you are a blessing to many people, especially those elderly people that are living there and can't do the upkeep or afford to pay someone else to do it
Love your videos. You do such a good job, keep up the good work. I do miss when you used to rake the grass up, but I understand that's a LOT of extra work. Just looks nicer in my opionion.
I love watching Spencer work his "magic" on these yards. I also really miss watching when he helps out an elderly or disabled person - and especially a disabled or older Veteran.
What a shame that cute little house sits empty. Now where does all that waste you removed from the fence line go? Darn it, inquiring minds want to know! 😜
@@racerx009Probably right!! If that was my yard that I nicely just mowed, it would really tick me off to have all that debris tossed onto my nice green lawn!! Frustrating. 🙄
Hey there Spencer just saw your video the front lawn looks great at the end. I was watching an overgrown video on M&D lawn care last week I saw them doing a lawn with poison ivy they had on looked like what doctors wore. I totally understand safety comes first. Hopefully the backyard gets taken care of soon though
@@juliadoula I am going to have to check them out. I got spoiled on Midlife Stockman for his lawn care vids going over and above! Have a Merry! And a Happy!
Great job, Spencer! I agree with others here and I’m also surprised the parishioners from the churches didn’t jump on this opportunity to help the neighbors and clean up this yard as a good ‘neighbor’.
I know of an area here on Long Island that REALLY needs work. I take walks with my family during the warmer seasons, and our trail goes in an area where the sidewalk is completely covered with dirt and grass.
Why are there so many haters on this one? Wherever the dirt and clippings are seen to go, it doesn't mean that they live there permanently. We dont see a lot of what Spencer does off camera. Besides, the neighbors probably dont notice a little debris compared to the jungles that were their neighbors yards.
If Spencer cleans it off camera, then what is the point of posting this video with the after shots when it's clearly not up to lawn care standards. He needs to do better.
Before you even started, the front looked like a cornfield. Sorry that those ares are riddled with poison ivy. But you have to stay safe. Great update on the work truck.
I thought he pulled them out to the street, how ever, you can see where the neighbor had cut them from their side of the property and dumped them in the abandoned driveway. Anything handing over the property line is your responsibility

Are those tires 10 ply? And congrats on getting a brand new truck! I bet it was getting to the point that you were really needing it! 🛻

I’m so proud of you for continuing to protect the back of your neck. Your older self will thank you.

Yes indeed the neck is important but his lungs are also of great concern. Where is the mask????

I tried to cut it down, while temporarily stepping on their side of the bushes, so they called the police on me. I was told by the police not to set foot on my neighbors' property, but I was allowed to cut the brush that grew over my property. It was back breaking work, since it's a 150 feet long property line between us, and all of it was one big jungle. I finally had a 6 foot tall fence built between our properties. I paid over $10,000 for it, which drained my savings, but it was worth it. Peace at last.
Oba! Estou também precisando de uma cerca dessas . @@OfraSharon-Afir
Thanks Spencer for always doing the right thing... helping out a neighborhood that has some how just turned a blind eye on a property needing to be rescued. The "lifeguard of lawns!" Thanks again for saving it from drowning!❤🌿🙏👏
That looks so much better.Take care if you go out in the snow this winter!
SB, you and others like you that i watch, always make a big difference. not only for homeowners but the community as well. keep up the awesome work
That place looked like a corn field! SB you do great work and a great service! 💯💪🏾
Congrats on the new truck, hope the tires work out for you. Nice job on the yard, as always.
You should get a haz mat Suit for poison oak
Understand afraid of poison ivy But could have at least used hand held battery clipper to cut heavy vine closer to ground to kill out growth upon the house!
Looks SOOO much better Mr SB!!
❓I have posted this question before but no answer...considering ~85% of people are allergic to urushiol (the oil in poison ivy) how do people safely get rid of overgrown patches or fields of it? I know if you spray it with weed killer the oil remains for a long time afterwards. Do you have to call a specialist and if so how do they do it? Especially in a backyard with narrow access.🌿

M&D Lawn Care uses hazmat suits when they come across poison Ivy & Oak. Matter of fact they used them on their last video.
What a way to try and steal some free advertisement. Sorry Guy but homie here is an original so I'm sticking with him
You should think about investing in a shredder to shred the branches. Nice work.
I noticed what looks like a beer bottle starting around the 11:45 - 11:50 mark. He mowed over it and looks like he broke it. That’s probably what caused his tire to go flat.
That is what I am thinking also.
I have a neighbors alley i do when spring season comes, i weedeat down to nothing and treat it with agent orange - keeps it thin for the summer
Great work. Have you thought of getting a hazmat suit so you can complete yards? M&D lawn care decided to get hazmat suits because they run into a lot of poison ivy too.
That would mean he would have to cut the whole yard front and back !
@@tnolan3176
Yes, shameful!
@@EmptyHandshake he usually does yards bigger than that
@@mzd0820
Not an excuse to do a poor job on a small yard.
@@tnolan3176 More and More, Spencer only cuts the front yards. He usually says its because of poison ivy.
You are simply the best!! God Bless you for all your wonderful work and kindness to others who need a helping hand! 🙏😍
Good job!
Thanks!
Awesome work as usual! Always so impressed with what you do. I am always amazed that no one ever offers to help you, I mean just people from the neighborhood just rake up after you or something. God bless you and the work you do!
Oh man, this is going to be a good one!!! Edit: You have 2.23 million subs!!! Amazing job Spencer!!
Thanks for bringing that place out of the "jungle" category. Refinding the mowing edges was good. A nice boost for the neighbors. Thank you for all your work this year and best wishes for your holiday time.
You've outdone yourself. Well done!
What I still would love to see for a future property where someone lives there, but is struggling to maintain it:
👋♥🎄♥ Спасибо за доброту и чистоту, Спенсер! Хороших каникул! ☃️🎅👍
I was just curious if anyone has complained about getting dirt/dust on their cars parked near by…LOVE your work dude 👍🏼💯❤️
Its MUCH better than it was, but iwhy wouldnt you remulch all the longer offcuts?
Do you leave those big branches on the property or do you take them with you?
I’d also like to know this, but I’ve never seen him address it. I just assume he drags everything to the backyard.
He leaves them there. He is not paying to dispose of lawn waste. Unless it's for someone living in it.
As usual a tremendous job well done 👏 ✔️ ❤😂🎉 i agree with the comments about wearing a mask 😷
Buen trabajo Espenser lastima te haga tanto daño esa hiedra venenosa tan comun en esas casas para limpiarla toda te kedo muy bien el frente eres el mejor abrazo fuerte
Very hard and difficult work, but so necessary. How nice it is to look at the cleaned area
C est pas fini le travail 😮😮 tu devrais voir les videos de Midlife Stockman, lui fait du bon travail
It's a shame to see a home deteriorate with such a shortage of housing. Great job. I'm with you on the poison. Stay clear.
Nice to do the bit you did but sure would like to see the clippings picked up. It will dry up and blow into the neighbors yards.
I'm sure neighbors are happy that it's cut down. Neighbors should be taking care of the lawn so it doesn't get tall and become a rat, mouse, snake infested yard.
Go help him then.
Thank you for making it nicer for the neighborhood.
What a shame that cute little house sits empty. Now where does all that waste you removed from the fence line go? Darn it, inquiring minds want to know! 😜
Awesome as always. Big difference in before and after.
I still want to know what you do with all those branches. There isn't any room in the truck.
He flings them into the non-helping neighbors yard. 😉 Muhahaha!
@@racerx009Probably right!! If that was my yard that I nicely just mowed, it would really tick me off to have all that debris tossed onto my nice green lawn!! Frustrating. 🙄
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you for being such a good steward of the land, neighborhoods, trees, people.
M&D are the best. They do lawn detailing!

I am going to have to check them out. I got spoiled on Midlife Stockman for his lawn care vids going over and above! Have a Merry! And a Happy!
Como siempre dejas todo genial Spencer 👍💪🤗siempre ayudando con la limpieza de esos sitios abandonados eres una gran persona 🫂❤️🥰
Great job, Spencer! I agree with others here and I’m also surprised the parishioners from the churches didn’t jump on this opportunity to help the neighbors and clean up this yard as a good ‘neighbor’.
Well done, Spencer. You are a hard working man. 👍👍👍
surprised you left all that crap on the neighbor's lawn to the left of the curb cut.
I know of an area here on Long Island that REALLY needs work. I take walks with my family during the warmer seasons, and our trail goes in an area where the sidewalk is completely covered with dirt and grass.
Such a great job sir. It looks like a freshly planted tree by the curb.
Leaving grass in street is very dangerous for motorcycle riders. Like hitting a patch of ice. Please make sure grass is out of road
Before you even started, the front looked like a cornfield. Sorry that those ares are riddled with poison ivy. But you have to stay safe. Great update on the work truck.
In your neck of the woods, maybe you should consider biohazard suits for the poison ivy. Merry Christmas
Great job Spencer. I appreciate your compassion to the job and to the community. Merry Christmas 😊
When you cleaned the end of the driveway why were you throwing it on the neighbors lawn?
First thing I thought...I wouldn't be happy.
I thought he pulled them out to the street, how ever, you can see where the neighbor had cut them from their side of the property and dumped them in the abandoned driveway. Anything handing over the property line is your responsibility
Que o Natal seja abençoado e próspero a Você e sua Família Spencer, obrigado por manter o espírito altruísta em seus vídeos 🙌🏻🙏🏻
