Chicken with rice is a beautiful thing that is celebrated across much of the world's cuisines. Latin America has Arroz con Pollo, Spain has Paella and India and the Middle East have Chicken Biryani, which is what I will bring you today. This version is perhaps one of the easiest, quickest and most accessible versions because it will be made with ingredients found at most markets (or easily online) and, thanks to the Instant Pot, done all in one pot at the same time in record time. In under 30 minutes, Chicken Biryani will be on your table and it will be one of the most glorious and hearty rice dishes you'll savor.

I thought this would be good but man was it AWESOME! I vegetarian and don't eat meat so I made the recipe as is except I deleted the chicken. After the Instant Pot was through I added soy chicken strips in and it was ready to eat!
Amazing! 🎉
I've made this recipe 3 times since it was published. I've made many of Jeffrey's recipes and have loved them all. My kids request the sausage and peppers often, so we will be making it this week . Thank you!
I can’t wait to make this!! Now you speak of this pickle dip. lol Richard willing to share his pickle dip? 🤷🏼😂
I love his recipes. So easy to follow.
It’s right here! pressureluckcooking.com/divine-dill-pickle-dip/
@@PressureLuckthank you ❤🎉
There was a time where going out for a meal was a treat.
We've reduced out trips to restaurants to once a month or even less.
Prices have gotten to where we can't justify it any longer... don't even mention scammy delivery services like Uber Eats and Door Dash.
Made this today and it turned out pretty good! Even my mom was impressed. Thankfully we had all the spices even though it took forever to get them all together lol. Do not skip on the cilantro people!
Wonderful!
The Hubs and I made this tonight. We did not use a yogurt sauce but thus was delicious!! My husband was so cute measuring all the spices and putting them in cups just like you do. We've made several of your recipes and you never let us down.
Great job!
I would use the whole spices with the onions in the beginning and use fried onions at the end for one of the toppings. Looks yummy. 😊💙💙
Absolutely making this!
Love this recipe, thank you!
Tziki 100% works!
Thank you for making my suggestion. I'm pumped to try it
That came out beautifully can’t wait to try it
Made this last night-so good!
Recipe looks great. Thanks.
I’m so excited to make this recipe. TFS 🩵
This was a hit today. Thanks for sharing.
I too have all your cookbooks, Jeffrey. I make stuff from them all the time. Looking forward to trying this recipe (might even happen later today)! I tried a recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala in the Instant Pot recently and it turned out amazingly well.
This is one of my favorite dishes! I can't wait to try this method.
Cilantro is great! Good vid, I just subscribed
This was delicious. Thanks for sharing this recipe
So happy for your success, Jeff. I have all your cookbooks and use them all the time. Thanks for the Biriyani recipe. My son works at an Indian restaurant and I love their Biriyani (ever try goat? It’s delicious!). Can’t wait to make your version and compare. 😋 🤤
Yummy!
I made this for dinner tonight, and it is fabulous!
Fantastic Jeffrey! I add potatoes 🥔 to mine too.
Great recipe. I'll be making this. The list of spices are all in my cupboard. Just three minutes!
I have always been intimidated by Indian cuisine to make at home! I cannot wait to try this! Thank you ❤
Looks absolutely fabulous. Some of the biryanis that I have had add mint and serve it with raita. Definitely going to try this one. Thanks!
OMG 😱 I want to have this 🍽️
This looks pretty tasty. I will have to get some Basmati rice for it, since I don't have any in the house at the moment (5 OTHER kinds of rice, but not that one!) but I have everything else. Time to try a new recipe! (The Sausage Curls recipe is a HUGE favorite in this house, to the point that the recipe is just attached to the front of the fridge with magnets, pretty much permanently.)
Jeff, I made this for my mum and I today and it was the most delicious biryani I ever made, with the perfect level of spice for us (I omitted the cayenne). Thank you!
Bay leaves make red sauce amazing
A new family favourite to add to the list. I have all four of your cookbooks and am looking forward to more.
Side note: I have a non-stick pot in my pressure cooker so I find I use a quarter of the butter or oil called for. Also invested in a bay bush. Fresh bay leaves, omg!
This looks delicious!! We just got a new Indian market in my town, I look forward to shopping for th3se ingredients!❤😊
I made this the other night, before I realized you had a video for it - I wanted a quick chicken and rice dish in the IP - and searched your site, and this popped up....the resulting dish is THE BEST EVER! Great, authentic flavor, and so, so easy. Thank you!
What a testament! So glad you enjoyed it!
@@PressureLuck - I have all your books, and your website/books are my go-to when I want quick IP meals! Looking foeward to your new book too...🙃
Outstanding recipe! I loved it
So glad!
Good morning, Jeff.
I just made your chicken biryani recipe this morning. It is delicious. The chicken is tender, and the rice is cooked. The seasoning is spot-on. Thanks so much. -Tim
Thrilled you enjoyed it!
I also put it in a wrap to one hand eat on the go
Hope you're working on another cookbook with this in it I already have the other 4 books
Oh Jeff! I was talking to my friend at work today who’s from Kerala. We talked about lime pickle and wonderful biryani! Then I come home to your recipe! I’d add more fresh coriander and mint, but, as ever, it’s a showstopper. ❤
I've made this recipe twice and it is incredible! The first time I used some spinach and artichoke tzatziki which was good, but then I added some store bought dill pickle dip and it was a definite improvement. I'll need to try using some homemade dip next time as I'm sure it'll make it next level, but this is such a wonderful dish and my house smells like the blend of seasonings for the half a week after.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Was the singer Anya?
That looks delicious. I've been participating in a Meal Train and I think that is the sort of dish that the family I'm helping out would enjoy. I'm going to make a test run to see if I think their kindergartener will enjoy it this coming weekend. I've been trying to find recipes that they all can eat since there are severe food allergies in the family (so no nuts for them!) But I think raisins might make a lovely add-in.
Wonderful recipe! I added some cashews and frozen peas after the natural release. The flavor and spice was amazing. And chicken thighs just fell apart. Definitely will make again!
So glad!!!
Chicken biryani is a PITA to make, but can’t wait to try this!
Hey, good videos. So, do you still use your Ultra? I ahve a chance to pick one up for almost nothing but I'm concerned about it being discontinued.
I've got a load of leftover turkey in the freezer from Christmas. This would work well with the brown meat too.
I just made it this morning as well, but substituted veggies for the chicken. I was nervous about how it would turn out, but it is perfect and so delicious I think I could eat it on repeat, all winter long!
Music to my eyes!
Wondering how this would work with riced hearts of palm? Do you think less broth? Trying to make it keto friendly.
Look amazingly good.
Can you make in the future, Mullgatawny soup? It’s another amazing Indian dish 😊
Looks delicious. How about a taco soup recipe
Can we have the dil pickle dip recipe please?
I’m so going to make this! 😊
Can you double recipe? I Will it fit and would time stay same or add to it?
Looks delish and I will try soon. Question: So is it Brianni? Your headline for it may be spelled incorrectly. Birany?
Biryani is not misspelled. That's the correct spelling. You can check pretty easily by just googling it and seeing just how many Biryani recipes you find from Indian cooks.
Thank you. I guess the spelling and the pronunciation are different.
How long would I pressure cook using brown rice? This looks delicious, I can almost smell and taste it through the video screen.
I think you'd want to do around 20 for the pressure cook for brown rice, just do a search for how long to cook brown rice in an IP
Can I use rotisserie chicken for this recipe
I am going to try this recipe. I think that shrimp would be a good addition to chicken but I wonder how long it would take for shrimp to cook and not to get too tough, or would it be better to add shrimp separately after biryani is finished?
I think adding the shrimp after would be better. It would be overcooked if put in before cooking the rice. It would taste good I think.
Hey Jeff, what are your qualifications to be a cook book author? Culinary school, worked in kitchens, etc.
I'm shocked you didn't mention the new cookbook that comes out in September even though it isn't a instantpot cookbook. ( Pastabilities)
🙂👍🥂
This looks very similar to the Chicken Rice Shawarma recipe... which I made last night and am about to heat up some leftovers of right now.
They definitely share similar flavor profiles! Enjoy!
Hey guys! I tried this recipe and unfortunately got a burn warning during my cook. I did forget the comment about not stirring the rice, and I stirred it in. Could that have been my error?
Spelled biryani, he chooses to say BRIyani, bold move
You can also use citric acid to clean that pot😂
So when I clicked on the recipe link I got the dreaded Cloudfare "Human Verification" notification that always stops me in my tracks. Oh well.
Abfab
Looks yummy, but I just can't eat that much rice.
First time watching you. The recipe looks delicious. But, I hate the sound of you guys eating, sorry.
