I've never made chili in my entire life and I literally just won my company's chili cook off going off of your recipe. It wasn't beginner's luck, it was pressure luck's recipe 😉
Because of yr videos people think I'm an alcoholic now. You showed me how to cook with wine and I now have several different types of wines on a shelf. I made Mulligan stew last night and threw in some merlot. I had no idea wine could take a dish and turn it into something super special. Thank you for broadening my horizons. 😍
I've made this chili about 15 times. I don't sweat tbe exact measurements but now use it as a guideline for every batch I make. Always comes out a little different, according to my tastes at tbe time. Never has disappointed! Good job!
I just made this for my husband and it was a huge success! It is amazing! He told me that I need to make all of your recipies. I opted out of the spicer version so that I can give it to my young son, but it still has just enough spice with out the habanero. Thank you so much for all your hard work! All of us working parents appreciate you
I’ve made chili 3 times in my 67 years of life. They were all 3 pretty laughable so I never made it again….until this one. Thank you Jeffrey for saving my reputation! It’s the best there is. My family requires it. Whether served over a baked potato and smothered in cheese. Or with a spoonful of rice in the bottom of the bowl , then chili, and a handful of oyster crackers over the top. And of course a PBR beer. Thank you, thank you, thank you hug😂
Did not think i needed help with chili, husband said the best ever. 45 + years of making chili and he said the best ever. Did not have all the ingredients but did have hoison, better than - chili base, put in at the end (the game changer). Been watching for over 2 yrs now, thanks jeffery, second day was even better.
Thanks for the outstanding chili recipe. I've made it twice. The second time I entered our neighborhood chili cook-off in The Villages, FL. With more than 300 people present I won people's choice. There were 12 entrants. For everyone who requested the recipe I steered them to your UA-cam site. Thanks again!
I have only one complaint! I'm so disappointed! I snapped my finger over my onion for like 3 minutes and nothing happened! It's still sitting on the counter! ☹️
I am 52 and have never made chili,,, eaten plenty but never made it,,,,, until now. This recipe is fantastic! I'm so glad I ordered the BTB Chili as that indeed made it 100x better. I tasted the chili before adding it and it was good but after,,,,,WOWZA!!😍🤩 Thank you for all your great IP recipes!!
Was making this in my pressure cooker and it smelled so good. I like using the base of this recipe to make it my own, and will never go back to how l used to make chili. Although Hoisin Sauce and beer are not used for the liquid, l season my ground beef like taco meat, and use some of the juice to throw in the pot. Also chopped celery and bell peppers are added, along with onions, and a diced jalapeño pepper. A day in advance l like to clean some pinto beans to cook on the stove, and use them with the can of kidney beans, Rotel, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Finally, l check the flavor to determine if pepper, garlic, cumin, Italian seasoning, or chili powder is needed. Since my meat and pinto beans are seasoned, l use a couple of chicken bouillon cubes, and steer clear of adding salt. I’m glad l came across this recipe because my family has fallen in love with it.
Jeff, I made your chili recipe substituting ground beef for smoked roast ( 3 hrs ) then Sous vide it for 24 hrs. I shredded the meat, added same spices as you & real kidney beans. Took it our church chili cook off & I won 1st place in about 15 different types of chili. So thank your recipe 👍
Amazing recipe! It only took 30 minutes from beginning to end. It tasted fabulous. Everyone in the family loved it and we doubled the recipe, so we have more for tomorrow. Thanks!
Dude, I made this recipe without finishing the video and it was great. Then I finished the video and saw the chili base and yelled "WHAT?!" loud enough to scare my wife.
I had originally planned to make this for family on our beach trip this past week. I Brought down my one pot and all of the ingredients but I never got the opportunity. I ended up having to throw out the meat I bought. When I got back home tonight, I bought more meat and made this for them first time. I didn’t use them oregano or the sauce in the green container. I also could not find taco sauce so I substituted taco seasoning. I did order the better than bouillon chili and left out the habaniero pepper. It was done quick and it tasted perfect! It is the best meal I have cooked in my one pot so far.
This is my new favorite kitchen tool! Day 1 I was going to pressure cook a meat ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and potato stew, decided I wouldn't eat it that night so I went with a slow cook so I could go to bed and put it away in the morning. I love that versatility! The sauté feature works great and adds tons of extra flavor to dishes, and I can easily sizzle meats in the bottom then deglaze for some restaurant worthy flavors.Big bonus - you can cook a whole frozen chicken in about 2 hours. Amazing! I've seen a couple videos, haven't tried it yet, but I will soon!
I am making this for tomorrow, so made today....because Jeff mentioned that it would be better if made the day before...my Hubby is, of course, taste testing...said it was the best Chilli he has ever ate. Thank you, Jeffrey for an excellent recipe. I won the Chilli Contest a couple of years ago (at my work) with a different Chilli...my own...had "no idea what I did" recipe. However, Hubby says this one is the best. Yay, Jeffrey!
I have owned my instant pot for a little over 3 weeks and it is amazing. I went shopping got all the ingredients except the 1 habanero pepper which i will be adding next time. This was a very good recipe. Thank you
This is the 6th of your recipes I've tried. They've all been excellent but this one is OFF THE HOOK!!! In my 66 years I've never eaten a more awesome bowl of chili. Thank you!
I made my first batch yesterday with a few substitutions: ground turkey, 3 anaheims instead of poblanos, ditched the jalapeno and habinero and substituted a big glob of the Chili Better Than Bullion......then added 3 tbls at end......and it came out GREAT! You have turned me on to Better Than Bullion products and they should reward you!
This is seriously one of the best chilli recipes I've ever found. The "better than bouillon chilli" is not really needed. Still absolutely delicious! I've made it with and without.
Huge hit at work. It was gone in no time. I didn't have habanero, so I added a bit of ghost pepper powder. Everyone loved it and it cleared everyone's sinuses! Great recipe. Can't wait to try more. Thanks.
This is the best recipe I’ve ever done so I always have a bunch in the freezer for future dinners…. And lunches! For the meat I use a pound of lean beef and a pound of Johnsonville mild Italian sausage. Such an incredible meal!
Omg! Jeff, I just made this chili and it came out fantastic! The smells that filled the kitchen and then giving it a taste when it was done. Thank you so much for giving us all these fabulous recipes to make in the instant pot. This is only my second time using the Instant Pot but it is definitely not the last. I just got all the ingredients together to make the loaded potato leek soup next. Can’t wait. You rock Jeffrey!
I just made my grocery list for this chili and I cannot WAIT to try this!!! Update: I made it and it's delicious! I didn't use the chili base. Instead I added a can of roasted green chilis, some diced sundried tomatoes, beef better than bullion, half a pound of ground sausage, more onions and 4 stalks of diced celery. Everything else I followed from the recipe. So tasty! I think it would have been too salty for my taste following the recipe without having added so much more diced vegetables and more meat to dilute. It is so good! Thanks!!!❤
I've made this twice exactly as you said, except the first time I didn't have any Tony Checkers or Better With Boliun. First time I thought it was good, one of the better chilis I've made. Tried it a second time with both of those, and it was lights out delicious. Awesome recipe.
I’ve been a student of the cooking game for a long time now, and this is seriously the best chili I’ve ever made. I didn’t have the bouillon stuff so I used one tablespoon of liquid smoke, and habaneros kill me so I did a poblano, jalapeño and two Serranos and it was perfect. Thanks for the great recipe!
well i made this chili and i won first place in my office chili cook-off, $50 so with the winning i going to buy an instapot. woohoo thanks pressure luck.... also will be trying some of your other instapot recipes very soon.
I seriously use your recipe every time I make chili! I love 💕 it! I grew up back east & this is perfect! I have to modify it a little when I make it for my babies. But they literally ask me to make this like every month... Makes me so happy & reminds me of home. 💜 Ty so much for sharing!
Yes again Jeff ! Kind of a crazy start to '23 here. Suffered a shoulder fracture on January 3rd. Back to work now (thankfully). All I was able to do in my time off to earn my keep amongst my wife and daughter was to use the instant pot from Christmas. I've now cooked more than a dozen of your recipes since the beginning of the year, sometimes more than once ! I study others too, I modify things based on what I have on hand. Pretty much followed this exactly! Success again, thank you 😊
Dude, this is the second recipe I’ve tried of yours. Amazing. I did some customizing and included chorizo and Owens hot sausage just maybe half a pound of both and 1lb ground beef. Thanks for sharing. Most recipes I try are bland. Yours are fully flavored. Your meatloaf recipe was da bomb! This one is equally as awesome.
im making my first ever instant pot chili and your video was the one i relied on the most, nice video. love that you showed me to twist that knob to sealing. never cooked with this thing before.
Although it is 12:30 a.m. and currently 85 degrees, I just had to make this chili recipe. I made minor changes to the recipe like using organic beef broth instead of beer (don't like beer!) Since I love cilantro, and cumin, I added much more and 3-stalks of celery. This is the best chili I ever had/made!!! This will be my go-to chili recipe from now on. Oh...I forgot to mention I used ground turkey instead of ground beef. I only buy organic grass-fed ground beef and the store was out. I used my food processor to chop the veggies. This is the next best thing to snapping my fingers. :) I love my Instant Pot so much, I'd marry it if I could! I can't wait to try more of your Instant Pot recipes. Thanks so much for this delicious recipe!
Just got my Instant Pot. After the test run of 3 cups of water, I knew Chili would be the first thing to make. This recipe was perfect! Perfectly seasoned, not too spicy (I left out the Habanero) and perfect for my first meal! Thanks!
Can you do a video on how to dice vegetables by snapping your fingers, I just can't get it to work. I had to do it the old fashion way, but the chili was still awesome none the less. Great video.
Great videos but Lea & Perrins is the Worcestershire sauce, since 1837. Even though Heinz now owns the brand, the L&P flavor is w/o peer. Lea & Perrins barrels and ages theirs for 3 years
Yes indeed. I always have Lea & Perrins in my store cupboard :) I think the main difference is that the original version in UK uses malt vinegar and the American version uses distilled white vinegar. However just use whatever is handy in your country. I am not sure if can get the original in US. I think it is used in Canada.
My gf and I apparently needed a warning label when it came to the habanero! Its been a couple hours+ since we made this and we’re still on fire in parts you wouldnt want to be on fire. Lol Super delicious, thank you for sharing🙏
Hi Jeffrey! BEST CHILI EVER! I made this yesterday and it was AMAZING!!!! Found the creole seasoning at Target and my fiance picked up the Chili base at his grocery store in Pittsburgh for me (couldn't find it here in Philly) so I had ALL the ingredients. Everyone at my house LOVED it. Just want to point out that for aspiring chefs like me, who read and follow every detail of your recipes, the Worcestershire sauce is missing from Step 3 of your written recipe. I just followed the video to make sure I knew when to add it though. So it's all good! :) THANK YOU for continuing to add fantastic recipes.
best chili of all time for real. I brought it to work as my lunch, everyone was saying "omg what is that smell, it smells so good!!!" and then I had to bring some for everyone, and they all said it was the best chili! thank you for the awesome recipe and video!!
Oh thank the maker! I brought my Step By Step Instant Pot cookbook to work to order ingredients. Of course I showed off the pictures and told everyone how much I was looking forward to making this recipe (I was so happy I found the Better Than Bouillon Chili base to add to my dish). I was really looking forward to making me some chili this weekend. I get home and found I had left my cookbook at work. So distraught, I collapsed right into my fainting couch! Hoping against hope, I search the interweb, and holy jalapeno - I discover you have this super chili secret posted for all to see on UA-cam. Thank you Jeffrey, you saved my weekend!
Oh my Gosh !! I made this today during a thunderstorm- DELICIOUS! I followed it pretty closely.. I left out the really hot peppers and halved the cumin and it was probably the best chili I’ve ever made 🙂😋
My son organized a chili cook-off at the school where he teaches. It was just for fun, no prizes or anything. But people did vote for their favorite chili, and his won. The next day he received a $25 gift card to Chili's. Nice to organize an event and win, too! He used my Instant Pot which garnered a lot of interest.
This was delicious! I did make some changes due to ingredient availability in Canada: * I didn’t have any hoisin sauce so I skipped it. * I had left over celery so I added 2 stalks. * I used hot salsa (from Farm Boy Canada) instead of Rotel as I couldn’t find Rotel in Canada. * I used 1.75lbs of ground beef - 7 frozen ight quality ¼ lb hamburger patties, left to thaw for about 40 minutes on a plate on the countertop. Recipe calls for 1.5 but I like mine meaty. * I only used poblano peppers, but the salsa was hot, so the spice was just right for people who like just a hint of heat. * I used Keith's IPA from Nova Scotia for my beer. * I used tomato sauce with basil because I could not find regular tomato sauce. Farm Boy Canada brand. * I like cumin so even though the recipe calls for 2 tbsp of cumin, I was a little more generous. Maybe 2.5. * We don’t have Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning in Canada, so I used Cajun spice. * The recipe calls for two 15.5 oz cans of red kidney beans, drained & rinsed, but I used two 19 oz cans. * I could not find Chili Better Than Bouillon so instead, at a friends suggestion (thanks Jeff Lidstone), I used Heinz Chili sauce, probably about 5 tablespoons. This will be going into my regular rotation!
Thanks. I was wondering how to find some of the ingredients in Canada. Your changes sound great. Thanks so much. Also thanks Jeff for the video. Need to try it soon
I cubed a chuck roast (about a pound). Browned it in the instant pot then added the rest of the ingredients except the beans. I cooked for 25 minutes then added 2 cans of black beans (did not drain) and the chili seasoning. Delicious!
I have used several of the Better Than's and never heard of a chili base! Ho;y crap I feel like I just crawled out of the bunker after a 5 year waiting period after they dropped the big one! Blown away! Thank you for the video.
I was waiting for the first cool day of the season to make this. I followed the recipe exactly, except leaving out the Habanero chili pepper. My husband and I both agreed that this was the best chili we’ve ever had! I don’t think I could get away with using any other recipe!
I'm not clear on what cooking this in the pressure cooker did that made it better or faster than on the stovetop. Also, didn't understand why you didn't drain the grease after cooking the beef. Wouldn't it all float to the top or did the pressure cooker emulsify the fat and that's the benefit of the IP?
I agree, handsoman! Pressure cooking ground beef does not do much tenderizing to it, so it is an unnecessary step, IMO. Instead, me thinks it better to use the Slow Cooker function and let this Chili cook low and oh so slow. You would net a better meld of your ingredients in this way. One thing for certain, this concoction will rise to another level if you cook it on day 1 and then serve it on day 2. And corn bread is an absolute must! BTW, you don't want to toss away all that great pepper and onion flavor do you? That is what will happen if you discard the ground beef grease. If including this grease in your Chili bothers you, then you could consider a ground beef that is lean and mean! It is also less tasty! You could also consider chicken or even turkey- yuck! Happy Cooking!
I must say something here. I read the lable on the BtB Chili Base, and I tasted it. It is VERY salty. While it has great flavor it also packs 260mg of sodium/tsp. 12 tsp (4Tblsp) is a whopping 3,120mg of sodium or like 4 days worth!. Plus we have kosher salt, italian seasoning, seasoned salt, and celery salt. Please take my advice......stir in a couple of tsp of the base, let it sit and taste it. I doubt I have an intolerance for salt, but I made the recipe to the letter and it was way too salty for me or my wife to eat. When I made it again I adjusted the salts, and only added 1 full rounded Tblsp of the base. Deliciious.
I’m so far removed from this host you wouldn’t believe it but its being exposed to “Other People” like this that Bridges the gap of acceptance and understanding in America! Your a good dude bro and your vids are doing more than just feeding my belly, there feeding my being!
You hijacked my taste buds while watching this chili recipe. It’s been over 100 degrees where I live for the last month, yet I’m craving “ chili” ……..which I plan to make soon. Your recipes are always easy to follow and delicious. Thanks!
This is a wonderful recipe. I love that Jeffrey was up front about how everyone has different preferences and to make it our own way. The "too salty" comments scared me...I don't like things to be very salty, so I made a few adjustments, and it turned out great! First, I omitted the 1/2 tsp kosher salt and the 1 tsp celery salt. Then I only added 3 tsp (vs 4 tbsp) chili better than bouillon. Perfect amount of salt for me. Only other changes were just based on what I had on hand. I used a 15 oz can of tomato sauce and 10 oz can of diced tomatoes. Next time, I'll leave out the habanero pepper, because I'm a wimp. 😂 Thank you, Jeffery, for the recipe! Amazing flavors. The fiance said he'd take it to a chili contest for sure! P.S. The website and these UA-cam videos have been instrumental in teaching me how to use the Instant Pot and making me feel very comfortable with how it works. The humor and warm personality that comes along with the information is a welcomed bonus!
I have anxiety from severing my county these videos help me so much, thanks for your channel, plus I tried some of your teachings. Wow there SO TASTY. Thanks a bunch. 👍🏻
lol didn't notice your comment until after I commented, when I take the cornbread out of the oven , I use a butter brush, and spread just veggie oil or canola oil, over the top and then place the cornbread under the broiler, have to baby sit it, then the texture of the top of the cornbread becomes crunchy and when you pour the chili over top it doesn't disintegrate your cornbread and it makes a good resting place for your sour cream as well.
I have won cook offs with my basic chili , but today is a new day and I have a new instant pot . I used your directions except I used a half a pound of Mexican chorizo in my chili and discarded to Habanero. My experience is a good salsa on the side is best with my Chicas . Good chili. Thank You 🙏
BTW this was my first time using my new Instant Pot - so dang proud of myself, mainly because I also watched your instructional video on how to use it! :)
I literally just bought the Instant Pot yesterday. 6 Qt Duo - Looks like I will be making many of your recipes as we like the same spices, foods, etc. Thanks so much also, for explaining the IP settings, instructions on how to use the IP in many ways, much appreciated. Cheers!
The best comfort food ever :) Your recipe sounds very tasty! The addition of the Hoisin sauce made me think of how my dad did his chili. He used ketchup. Not that that's an equivalent, but the sweet tones of the Hoisin sounds like it would be an excellent trade :)
I know this video is a couple years old, but I was looking for a chili recipe, and of course I came straight to your channel. I didn’t follow your recipe exactly; I merely used it as a guideline and made a few tweaks. Leftover smoked brisket was my meat of choice, pinto beans instead of kidney beans (🤢), soaked, pureed dry chiles (ancho, new mexico, and guajillo) instead of the BTB chili base, and I increased the spice measurements just a bit to make up for the unseasoned dry chiles. That may sound like a lot of tweaks, but the basic flavors are still yours, I even add the hoisin sauce. With all that being said, holy crap, it was amazing!!! Oh, and I skipped the habanero.
I love all your recipes, you are one of the best cooks that I have seen for instapot and other recipes that you have done thank you so much for your videos I really appreciate people who put their hundred percent in and you are adorable.
We are experiencing a tropical storm today in Boca Raton and it was a perfect day to try your chili recipe. It was as good as advertised and then some. Thank you again for all your recipes .
Same, and I love salt A LOT. And yes, I used kosher salt as well. I think the biggest culprit is the bullion. I'll definitely make this again and experiment accordingly. Also note: we used unsalted butter.
Best chili ever! I followed your directions meticulously. You are a rock star CHEF and I feel like one even though I'm FAR from it! Thank you so much. Will be making more recipes of yours in the future!
I love making chili, its one of my pride and joys to cook. I will have to try my instapot since I usually use my cast iron dutch oven or crock pot over more time than this. I also agree, chili is your own, make it how you want, stop saying there is only "real" ways of making chili. I want everything in it! Veggies, meats, spices, beans, you name it. I do it slightly different each time and my wife always enjoys it.
Made your Chili last night What a hit! Took it to work my coworkers loved it Bought the "Better than bouillon" thru Amazon, I do agree that makes a taste difference
Made this for dinner last night and it was outstanding! Best chili we've ever had! The only ingredient I was not able to find for this time around was the Chili Better than Bouillon. I also only used a poblano and it was plenty hot enough for us. So glad that I found this recipe!
so good!!!! I used habanero, puréed chipotles and canned diced green chiles for this recipe. Also added a red onion, and used real diced tomatoes to help because I only had one can of sauce 🥴 still worked out amazingly. great call on the hoisin! & 1/3 tbsp of the better than beef bouillon still does well in this recipe, if that’s all you have 😊
I've never made chili in my entire life and I literally just won my company's chili cook off going off of your recipe. It wasn't beginner's luck, it was pressure luck's recipe 😉
i hear you
/r/thathappened
Did you follow it exactly or did you change any of the ingredients❤

It's truly blue ribbon chili when made with pbr
This made my night ;)

I have only one complaint! I'm so disappointed! I snapped my finger over my onion for like 3 minutes and nothing happened! It's still sitting on the counter! ☹️
lol
😂
Lol
Don't feel bad my finger snapping doesn't work either! So I just enjoy Jeffery's!
Whahaha you made me smile:)
I'm not a chili person, I made it for my husband, gave it a taste and absolutely loved it. It was a big hit with the family.

No doubt… the chili is good without it too…
I had originally planned to make this for family on our beach trip this past week.

I've made this chili several times. Awesome recipe! Substituted half the ground beef for chopped beef stew meat. So good!
Doing this tonight
1lb ground beef, 1lb center cut pork chops cut into small cubes, 1 can of beans. Perfected an almost perfect recipe IMHO
I'm super late to the instant pot and I'm very late to this channel, but I have been binging his videos. I love him lol

OMG MAN!!! That was insane. I made it exactly as you did and I cannot find my socks now! Lol You Da Man!
Brett Allen 😂😂😂😂
Brett Allen, Blahahahahahaha!
Ok I'm convinced, I'm making it lol.
Huge hit at work. It was gone in no time. I didn't have habanero, so I added a bit of ghost pepper powder. Everyone loved it and it cleared everyone's sinuses! Great recipe. Can't wait to try more. Thanks.
I just made this - had two bowls and now I’m in a coma...can barely type this out..... it is so good. Thank you so much!

I was born and raised in Chile and i approve of this video 😂
That must have been uncomfortable for your mom.
@@andhisband shoots, scores, goaaaaal
Love Chilean people / culture
My sisters-in-law lived in Chile for a few years and brought merquen spice back for me and I love that on top of my bowl of chili!
... Thank you ... Thank you ... Thank you ... Thank you ... 😉 ...
ok but your enthusiasm made this recipe even better :) making a pot while watching is highly recommended for anyone considering making this haha
well i made this chili and i won first place in my office chili cook-off, $50 so with the winning i going to buy an instapot. woohoo thanks pressure luck.... also will be trying some of your other instapot recipes very soon.
Way to go...congrats...
Michael Ok and there was only 3 entry’s, jk
Nice!!
I seriously use your recipe every time I make chili! I love 💕 it! I grew up back east & this is perfect! I have to modify it a little when I make it for my babies. But they literally ask me to make this like every month... Makes me so happy & reminds me of home. 💜 Ty so much for sharing!
Holy cow!! This is the best chili I've ever made. Thank you, Jeffrey!
Success again, thank you 😊
I sure hope you’re feeling better! And I’m glad my recipes have brought you some joy!
Making this for the 10th time today. Always a hit
Since I been watching this channel Lord I've been eating so good lately keep these videos coming Please 🙏
Best chili I've ever made. Everyone in the household LOVED it!
OMG.... I tried this recipe.... and it is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!
Great video.
kosys I too would love to see that video instruction. Lol. I think it might involve some sort of magic.
It’s magic of video. Lol
Movie magick!
My husband made this tonight.. mind you he’s only recently found out that he can cook well.. and it came out delicious!
Made this today with Impossible "meat" aka a vegan version and was AMAZING! Great recipe and a keeper for sure
This chili is amazing. I made it yesterday and the family loved it. We renamed it “Blue Ribbon Crack Chili” because it’s instantly addictive.
Yup. We get the original in Canada. Only Worst sauce worth using is L&P.
oh thank you for that tid bit!
My gf and I apparently needed a warning label when it came to the habanero! Its been a couple hours+ since we made this and we’re still on fire in parts you wouldnt want to be on fire. Lol
Super delicious, thank you for sharing🙏
This is amazing Chili. Made it last week for a Card Party and it was a hit. Thanks for the great recipe.
I return to this exact video once a year to make my annual chili, THANK YOU
Happy Chiliversary!
ITS ALMOST TIME
ITS TIME!!!
ITS MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR, HAPPY 3rd CHILIVERSARY
Oh my Gosh !! I made this today during a thunderstorm- DELICIOUS! I followed it pretty closely.. I left out the really hot peppers and halved the cumin and it was probably the best chili I’ve ever made 🙂😋
My son organized a chili cook-off at the school where he teaches. It was just for fun, no prizes or anything. But people did vote for their favorite chili, and his won. The next day he received a $25 gift card to Chili's. Nice to organize an event and win, too! He used my Instant Pot which garnered a lot of interest.
I want to thank you for your guidance on this chili recipe, I won first place at a chili cook off! Thank you so much!
Great job! Yay!
This was delicious! I did make some changes due to ingredient availability in Canada:
* I didn’t have any hoisin sauce so I skipped it.
Hoisin sauce is a plum sauce; maybe you could use a few mashed prunes. (Not kidding.)
I cubed a chuck roast (about a pound). Browned it in the instant pot then added the rest of the ingredients except the beans. I cooked for 25 minutes then added 2 cans of black beans (did not drain) and the chili seasoning. Delicious!
This dude is my newest addiction!
Me too... between Jefferey and the new Instant Pot meals are a delicious breeze. How did we ever cook without it-particularity pasta dishes!?
I have used several of the Better Than's and never heard of a chili base! Ho;y crap I feel like I just crawled out of the bunker after a 5 year waiting period after they dropped the big one! Blown away! Thank you for the video.
Question: Are the habaneros optional in this reciepe?
J Robert I get it. No one else does, but I did...
Hahahahahaha!
Did you watch the video?
J Robert Always.
ha!
I was waiting for the first cool day of the season to make this. I followed the recipe exactly, except leaving out the Habanero chili pepper. My husband and I both agreed that this was the best chili we’ve ever had! I don’t think I could get away with using any other recipe!
Music to my eyes!
Last night I made this Chili and I won best Chili at our potluck competition... Thanks. I have to say that it came out really good.
I was born and raised on chili... I approve of this video.😎👍🏼
Tree see what you did there, solid comment my man
You hijacked my taste buds while watching this chili recipe. It’s been over 100 degrees where I live for the last month, yet I’m craving “ chili” ……..which I plan to make soon. Your recipes are always easy to follow and delicious. Thanks!
You’re such a Dad! And the puns are ridiculous-I love it!! Definitely using some of these recipes for my new instapot!!
Speaking of puns, he did another video and spilled some thyme. He looks down and says, "I have some thyme on my hands!" Cracked me up.
I just got a instant pot, didn' t know what I was going to do with it. I think you and I are going to be best friends. It looks amazing.
I have anxiety from severing my county these videos help me so much, thanks for your channel, plus I tried some of your teachings. Wow there SO TASTY. Thanks a bunch. 👍🏻
Try serving it over cornbread. . . It's fantastic, savory and sweet!!!!
Oh yes cornbread a keeper for chili
lol didn't notice your comment until after I commented, when I take the cornbread out of the oven , I use a butter brush, and spread just veggie oil or canola oil, over the top and then place the cornbread under the broiler, have to baby sit it, then the texture of the top of the cornbread becomes crunchy and when you pour the chili over top it doesn't disintegrate your cornbread and it makes a good resting place for your sour cream as well.
The best way!
Nope dipped in it is better.
Exactly what im doing 😉
Your weight loss using instant pot meals is amazing!! Keep up the good work
Chipotle powder would be a nice addition too
I have won cook offs with my basic chili , but today is a new day and I have a new instant pot .
You are a natural...I enjoy watching your video. ..
I love all your recipes, you are one of the best cooks that I have seen for instapot and other recipes that you have done thank you so much for your videos I really appreciate people who put their hundred percent in and you are adorable.
Made this for our men's Chili cook of and yes an overwhelming success took first place! Thanks for another great recipe...!
We are experiencing a tropical storm today in Boca Raton and it was a perfect day to try your chili recipe. It was as good as advertised and then some. Thank you again for all your recipes .
For my taste. It is a bit too salty. Cutting back on the salt, adding more onions, the second time was perfect for my taste. After all, it is my chili
Kosher salt vs table salt, you would use less than half of table salt. The amount is not interchangeable. (Kosher you use more) they are not the same
R K wow thank you so much I had no idea !!!! Everything has always come out salty ..... will try this from now on
Mrs Dash would be good in it.
Mike, personally I don't care about your chili. But thanks for sharing!
Thanos has nothing on your snap 👌🏼
I love making chili, its one of my pride and joys to cook. I will have to try my instapot since I usually use my cast iron dutch oven or crock pot over more time than this. I also agree, chili is your own, make it how you want, stop saying there is only "real" ways of making chili. I want everything in it! Veggies, meats, spices, beans, you name it. I do it slightly different each time and my wife always enjoys it.
Needs Fritos on top.
It's great but already too salty for corn chips.
I like this guy, great tips, and ways of explaining. I checked out his website and it is uncluttered minimal adverts making it easy to use.
Made your Chili last night
What a hit! Took it to work my coworkers loved it
Bought the "Better than bouillon" thru Amazon, I do agree that makes a taste difference
Made this for dinner last night and it was outstanding! Best chili we've ever had! The only ingredient I was not able to find for this time around was the Chili Better than Bouillon. I also only used a poblano and it was plenty hot enough for us. So glad that I found this recipe!
Can’t wait to make this!!
so good!!!! I used habanero, puréed chipotles and canned diced green chiles for this recipe. Also added a red onion, and used real diced tomatoes to help because I only had one can of sauce 🥴 still worked out amazingly. great call on the hoisin! & 1/3 tbsp of the better than beef bouillon still does well in this recipe, if that’s all you have 😊
This chili is some of the best I have ever had. YUM! I had it with cornbread so comforting. :)
Never thought of using cornbread, gotta try it.
This was the best chili I’ve ever eaten! The rest I used with a box of jiffy cornbread on top- served with homemade tomatillo salsa and sour cream!!
