The reason I made this video is some of my subscribers like my rants and wanted me to make this video. It was not meant to be just pointless trashing for the sake of trashing bands. Yes, I really don't like these bands, but I went over the top for the sake of humor. Don't get your feelings hurt over music. I want everyone to listen to what they want and to enjoy what they like. This is only my opinion as I stated in this video, so calm down, take a deep breath, and play these bands loud and proud if you like them!

However, you've actually really taught me a few things with this video. It was actually very educational for me, more inspiring and much louder than any feed on UA-cam that speaks about metal. Lots of traditional metalheads will think this is total sacrilege, but I've always found flashy 80s metal guitar solos to be really corny and distasteful. I love the guitar. The riff is god. From Sabbath to 80’s thrash to 90’s Death metal to innovators like Meshuggah, Fear Factory and Strapping Young Lad. It’s all good. The variety we have as metalheads is insane. Dying Fetus Reign Supreme is a modern classic. Gojira From Mars to Sirius is kickasre too. Modern mainstream has some problems, but it’s not all bad. Old or new, metal is all about the riff. Just enjoy it people. BTW... Dave Mustaine has written some of the best riffs and leads in the history of metal. Who gives a shit about his voice. James “downstroke” Hetfield And Mustaine paved the way for everything from Death and Groove Metal to Metalcore. Respect where it’s due. Peace out.

What is it with Metalheads that only ever go by the riff, like there’s a whole bunch of things that go into metal, like rhythm, timbre, heaviness, etc. A reasonable person would pick out their favourites based on how well the bands handle all these aspects together in one of their albums, but let’s just ignore all of the talent that goes into the little details of our favourite music and go by the REEEPHHHHHH!!! 3. The idea that vocals don’t matter really tells me that you’ve never actually pay attention to it, and hence how little you pay attention to the music. For example, Lord Worm has to be one of the greatest Death Metal vocalists of all time, and he nailed None So Vile to the wall of legacy, and his absence in later albums really left a massive whole in many a Cryptopsy fan. If vocals didn’t matter, why would we care so much if one of them was replaced?

Metal in all its forms has been in my life since I was born. From my Dad listening to everything from Boston to Ted Nugent. My mom loved and still does Guns n Roses 🌹, Zeppelin, Aerosmith. Then as I’m 5 my step moms daughters boyfriend jamming to Mötley Crüe full blast in his 1985 S-10. My brother in law gives me ( mind you I’m collecting X-men comics and cards at this time and still playing with Ninja Turtles ) Cowboys From Hell for my 9th Birthday. It was all she wrote from there. He then on my 10th Birthday got me Vulgar Display of Power and took me to see them at Ridglea Theatre ‘92, then again for Far Beyond Driven but at Starplex which is now Smirnoff Amphitheater, again for TGSTK... War of the Gargantuans tour ‘96 best show ever that I’ve been to.... anyway over the years 26 years to be exact my tastes in the Metal genre of all its forms has gotten heavier and heavier. I would say I’m probably one of the most picky when it comes to heavy music. I don’t listen to everything metal because it’s fucking metal. I fucking can’t stand Metallica and never did like them at all. However all the 90’s metal and grunge etc still has a place in my heart. Megadeth’s countdown to extinction, Alice In Chains three legged dog, Melvin’s Stoner Witch, man I could go on and on. You have to remember that without some of these bands you mentioned especially Deicide and Megadeth. The Metal scene/Death Metal scene would be a lot different. I don’t like any of Deicides albums after *Once Upon A Cross* but that album fucking slayed man you can not deny that. The early stuff of Megadeth was pretty descent dude.
I get the point. I do. However, if someone has the ability to treat each instrument in its own way -- you're a band. There are millions of "Bands" that are just one guy telling everyone what to do and I've found that some one-man projects are able to pay more attention to each instrument and create a fuller experience in ways that bands led by dictators can't replicate.

I'm really confused by your comment that Deicide basically did nothing for death metal. Now, what I'm going to say is my opinion and not fact, but I think the Hoffman brothers were writing some of the most vicious riffs of all time back then. Deicide's all around sound back in the late 80's was simply more threatening and extreme than Cannibal Corpse, Autopsy, and even Morbid Angel if you ask me. I always heard back in the day the early Deicide shows were fucking downright insane and even violent. I totally understand that not everyone will share my opinion on this, but I believe that if Deicide did one thing, it was bring a level of extreme to death metal that wasn't there prior. Fuck, Glen burning crosses into his forehead and live shows with animal guts everywhere? Bad ass riffing and guts makes me a happy guy! But, like I said, only my opinion.

Lots of traditional metalheads will think this is total sacrilege, but I've always found flashy 80s metal guitar solos to be really corny and distasteful. I love the guitar. The riff is god. From Sabbath to 80’s thrash to 90’s Death metal to innovators like Meshuggah, Fear Factory and Strapping Young Lad. It’s all good. The variety we have as metalheads is insane. Dying Fetus Reign Supreme is a modern classic. Gojira From Mars to Sirius is kickasre too. Modern mainstream has some problems, but it’s not all bad. Old or new, metal is all about the riff. Just enjoy it people.
BTW... Dave Mustaine has written some of the best riffs and leads in the history of metal. Who gives a shit about his voice. James “downstroke” Hetfield And Mustaine paved the way for everything from Death and Groove Metal to Metalcore. Respect where it’s due. Peace out.

If vocals didn’t matter, why would we care so much if one of them was replaced?

War of the Gargantuans tour ‘96 best show ever that I’ve been to.... anyway over the years 26 years to be exact my tastes in the Metal genre of all its forms has gotten heavier and heavier. I would say I’m probably one of the most picky when it comes to heavy music. I don’t listen to everything metal because it’s fucking metal. I fucking can’t stand Metallica and never did like them at all. However all the 90’s metal and grunge etc still has a place in my heart. Megadeth’s countdown to extinction, Alice In Chains three legged dog, Melvin’s Stoner Witch, man I could go on and on.
You have to remember that without some of these bands you mentioned especially Deicide and Megadeth. The Metal scene/Death Metal scene would be a lot different. I don’t like any of Deicides albums after *Once Upon A Cross* but that album fucking slayed man you can not deny that. The early stuff of Megadeth was pretty descent dude.

I get the point. I do. However, if someone has the ability to treat each instrument in its own way -- you're a band. There are millions of "Bands" that are just one guy telling everyone what to do and I've found that some one-man projects are able to pay more attention to each instrument and create a fuller experience in ways that bands led by dictators can't replicate.

I'm really confused by your comment that Deicide basically did nothing for death metal. Now, what I'm going to say is my opinion and not fact, but I think the Hoffman brothers were writing some of the most vicious riffs of all time back then. Deicide's all around sound back in the late 80's was simply more threatening and extreme than Cannibal Corpse, Autopsy, and even Morbid Angel if you ask me. I always heard back in the day the early Deicide shows were fucking downright insane and even violent. I totally understand that not everyone will share my opinion on this, but I believe that if Deicide did one thing, it was bring a level of extreme to death metal that wasn't there prior. Fuck, Glen burning crosses into his forehead and live shows with animal guts everywhere? Bad ass riffing and guts makes me a happy guy! But, like I said, only my opinion.

They had some pretty good songs all thoughout their career and I personalkly enjoyed them a lot more than motorhead (who pretty much played 2 1/2 songs in slight variation over about 4 decades)
