When making the melody, do you already have an idea of what Key Signature you want it to be or do you improvise and see what sounds best? Also nice tutorial.

however, you can get interesting results when you improvise.

to add bending notes put your mouse on a note and left click twice, then select a triangle.
it only works on native fl studio plugins though.

if you ask about the software, fl studio is not free, but there are a few free ones you can download.
as i remember, reaper is free. its also simpler to learn.
