I've quit for a month and went over all the mental hurdles and depression and then felt like a new better person, but then all it took was one cigarette and I bought a pack that same day. You cannot have just one more cigarette, it doesnt work

Aye know exactly what ya mean.👍. Was nigh on 9 months since put the Cig's down. Had cravings here & there, but didn't give in until 2 days ago then before knew it had been through 5. Felt terrible... Physically & Mentally with slight pains in Heart aswell so just proved how much had healed really. Just glad chucked 'em out/All the best to ya.✌

U can if u have strong willpower to stick to 1 a day tough but doable and nite time only and off course no alcohol as that can't tend to lead to more smoking but yeah 1 a day defiantly doable but the main aim is to quit for good but easier said then done

    • @jonjones5152
      @jonjones5152 9 місяців тому +3

@@scottpringleyes alcohol can really weaken ones resolve/will power. One a day probably is possible but it's a lot of effort for most people. I bet it requires a lot more will power to stick to one a day than to just continue not smoking at all. Also I wouldn't be surprised (I'll have to look it up) if just 1 daily cigarette takes away most of a person's improved health for quitting completely for X months or years (or weeks). That's how I come to be here. I need another video though 👍👍👍

This video helped me. I quit cold turkey 11 days ago after 15 cigarettes a day for 17.5 years. My wife will smoke maybe 1 or 2 cigarettes a month when we drink and never seems to have an issue, drives me crazy. I can’t do that.
Everything you said made me think about the last time I quit and I thought I could have 1, made me feel light headed, disappointed in my self and by the next day I bought a pack. Weak!
I watch this video, did a couple push ups and still smoke free.
My trigger was washing my car, it’s not always about crisis or stressing out. Grilling, cutting the grass, drinking... I hate not smoking, but I hate smoking even more!

I quit 21 days ago but on day 8, I had 2 cigarettes. I definitely don’t recommend it, BUT if you do, write those cigarettes off as stupidity on your part and get on with quitting. Don’t let that cigarette you have convince you that now your quit journey is over. It’s not over until you’ve succeeded and never want another cigarette for the rest of your life. Good luck everyone. It’s a journey and you get a huge reward at the end. You get to live.

My entire life I despised cigarettes. Everyone in my family smoked. Father, 4 to 6 packs a dat, Mum, 2 to 4 packs a day, and my older siblings. I grew up with it since I was a baby and I'm sure and know that Mum smoked for all her pregnancies and I remember always breathing it in and getting burned sometimes. I thought I would never ever smoke. Then I dated someone who smoked for the first time and I ended up in a 3 year battle with him being a heavy smoker along with his family and his friends. I felt like I lost the battle, so I joined in.... AT 41 years old... I thought, I would only be smoking for short term. 10 years later, I've become a 1 to 2 pack smoker. I was disgusted and so angry at myself. Of course the pandemic didn't help and so my boyfriend and I smoking every single day in the apartment or on our balcony. WELL. One day, I woke up at 4.30 am and by the time the sun was coming up, I had already had about 10. That was IT!!!
What's worse, I am an Wilderness Outdoor educator for kids and run summer camps and other guided hikes and here I was always sneaking off to have that smoke. I was so conscientious of the smell on me, my breathe. Could parents tell I smoked and what would they be thinking. You get it.
This is where I started watching every single video I could find about quitting and health concerns, you name it. So I started watching Nasia Davos and February 13th, was my quit day. Every single day, I would spend my morning hours at my most vulnerable moment with coffee and watched her CBQ video's over and over again. Nasia, you have been my sponsor to keep me smoke free. Funny how you are just talking about the exact thing I am dealing with. I did, 2 weeks ago, while waiting up in the mountains for my hiking group to arrive and I said, OH, I'll just take a puff or two. I did. And that guilt and that thought of, it was just one and that little voice saying, you loved it was all there again. When I got home, I started watching all your video's again and haven't lit one up since. Remember, my boyfriend is a heavy smoker and I do battle with it, but I have continued to be determined not to smoke again. Thank you for being my strength.

Hi Manu, having setbacks is normal and part of the journey. So you just found a cigarette up there? How did you just happen to have "a" cigarette on you? If not in a pack, a single cigarette would crush in a back back, purse, you get the picture. To not smoke, no smokes in the house, car, anywhere. Cause that just one will not be enough, you will always find a reason to smoke.

Today is my Day 39 post smoking. After first week's craving/all other crap feelings, I was relatively alright for next 3weeks.
But last one week was hell like feeling for me- every day I had this bad bad craving for one cigarette. It was quite surprising that after 4weeks I started to feel this urge.
But good news is- I didn't surrender to my urge!😁🤘 So far, for last 38days, I am smoke free.

Im five days in from quitting, the cravings started after cooking and talking and then even more after i ate. I sat and read down all 10 of my affirmations 3× for quitting nicotine. Slightly went away and then i thought to look up if i just take a couple pulls because i was hoping i see something like its normal to have just a couple pulls after quitting for days. It all read, it'll increase the cravings and basically i shouldn't so i go to UA-cam and ask to see if someone said maybe they did and still was able to continue quitting after. I clicked this video and i felt it was a sign and proud of myself, adter all that thinking, watching and typing the craving is over. BTW the comments are inspiring and i want to add my 1.2 that

I had broken a cigarette that I put back together to get a few puffs :( I am not looking at this as a failure because it did absolutely nothing for me. honestly, quitting cigarettes made me healthier and physically better, mentaly - I'm more F*ed up than I was when smoking. I smoked 2 cigarettes after 2,5 years because of breakdown, but I knew that I wont smoke another one later or tomorrow , I can hold my self without them with friends who smoke and all that, and now my goal is to not have that 1 smoke in next couple years but go through the bull*it normaly. For those who is trying to quit - I failed 2 times, but on third I did this - choose day when I will stop smoking, a day where I will be doing something and get my mind off of it, went to party previous day and smoked last cigarette before i went to sleep. It's more like - when you REALY want it, you can do it no problem :)

When I woke, I didn't smoke for 2 years. Then I said, oh what's one little cigarette? 10 years passes smoking a pack a day until now. 24 days cold turkey. One week smoke free. Cravings are getting less and less. However, I really can't accept the idea that i will never smoke again. What if i limit my cigarettes to one cigarette a day? Would that be so bad?

Firstly I love your videos and your passion...
I quit smoking ciggarettes 7 years ago, and used electronic cigarette to come off cigarettes, I used e cig for 7 years and then quit that also 3 weeks ago, slowly coming down off nicotine, 18 to 16 to 10 to 3 then without nicotine... then I craved a ciggarette weirdly, even though after starting vaping I couldn't stand the smell of ciggarette smoke... anyway I had one cig.... 4 days ago and it was disgusting.... horrible.... please advise what your thoughts on ecig with nicotine

What about an occasional cigar after quitting cigarettes?. You don't inhale those and most people say cigars are not addictive

    • @t.r.stevens9984
      @t.r.stevens9984 3 роки тому +1

You will still inhale some and any residual product will be in your mouth so you will swallow it.
It is a tobacco product so has nicotine among other things and then there is the psychological part of the addiction.
If you get a positive payoff of some kind you will continue to seek that out as well.
It's lose lose, best just to stay away.
I live rural so there is alot of open land around me. When I would crave a cigarette I would go out and do some hard wind sprints. The last thing I wanted after that was a smoke.
It would oxygenate my blood so I would get the positive oxygen, endorphin high which is good if you are trying to replace a bad habit.

Hi George, thank you for your comment. Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical compound present in the tobacco plant. Tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, hookah tobacco, and most e-cigarettes, contain nicotine.
In this video below, Nasia explains why smoking only a few cigarettes a day (or an occasional cigar) can cause cancer and is harmful: fb.watch/4kZmFZr5Y6/

For last 20 yrs, I have been smoking in a very irregular pattern.
    1. Under sever tension or pressure at work but 1 or 2 at night.
    2. When extremely relaxed during holiday but 1 or 2 max.
    3. Not smoking for 6-7 months but again took up for a puff of 1 or 2 cig after getting traumatized by my father's death who died in a very peculiar manner.
    4. When meeting some of my friends after a long time who smoke.
Otherwise, do not feel any compulsion to keep a packet either.

I haven’t watched the video but I quit smoking for years and I would occasionally have a cig, maybe once every 6 months if I was with someone and drinking and thout oh why not? I don’t recommend it. But it wasn’t until a few months ago when my friend stayed over for a week i I literally smoked everyday all day for a week just because something got into me. I tried to quit after that week and I “couldn’t”. I went out and bought a vape and slowly brought my nicotine levels down and now today I finally have not smoked/vaped for 3 days and my intense cravings finally have gone away, I’m free again 😂😂 it was rough tho lol 😝
I know that cigarettes will always be there so why smoke myself to death? I’d rather not smoke knowing that if I ever want a cigarette in the future I’ll always be able too.
But I don’t recommend ever smoke again it’s to difficult and it’s not really worth it. It’s only good while you are addicted but if you aren’t addicted then it’s like eh who cares about cigarettes they are boring now.

No ....... ! They are like Lay's potato chips. You cannot have just one. After the one, you are will on the way to buying packs again. Do not do it!! I quit smoking cold turkey on Dec 24, 2021. I have had many relapses in the past by thinking that I could just have one cigarette.

this is exactly my problem. I have stopped smoking for months, twice, and every time I started getting this vague thought that I'd like to have just one cigarette, maybe to see how I'd react, maybe I'll think it's disgusting and never think about it again. As long as I don't do that, this thought comes back irregularly but it doesn't stop, then one day I smoke one cigarette and my quit attempt is ended, because I can't stop again.
