The last part where you mentioned that silicones aren't bad. THANK YOU!! I was one of those girlies who was a part of the 'all natural, no silicones or sulphates' hair care trend for years. I avoided all sulphates & silicones thinking they were bad but for me it just had the complete opposite effect. My hair was the worst it had ever been - always dry, frizzy & never grew past a certain length as it was breaking off at the ends faster than it was growing from my roots. I have watched so many of yours & Abbey Yung's hair videos & now my hair & scalp is the best it has ever been since using all your tips! One of the reasons for that is a sulphate shampoo I use once every 1-2 weeks, & I use silicones again. Amodimethicone is my favourite silicone as I have damaged hair from old bleach. It is fantastic & my hair is now finally retaining length. It is now down to my booty & for reference, it never grew past my boobs. It has not been this long since I was 5! I use a mix of products, as well as salon & drugstore brands. You have to find what works for YOUR HAIR & try to stay away from a lot of the false & fear mongering information that is out there as a lot of it is just very good marketing. Thank you for your videos. I always take something away from all of them! 😊❤
i’m so happy to hear this!!! it’s amazing how finding the right products for your hair can make such a huge difference. silicones and sulfates get a lot of hate, but they really do work wonders for certain hair types, especially when used correctly. amodimethicone is a game changer for damaged hair-it’s awesome that your hair is now thriving and growing past lengths you’ve never seen before! you’re so right about avoiding the fear-mongering and focusing on what actually works for your hair.
heavy on the pantene appreciation! people need to stop hating on drugstore haircare when they don't know nothing about it, the conditioner from the purple miracles pantene's line leaves my hair feeling softer and shinier than my redken and it's a quarter of the price. love love love pantene and l'oreal haircare products
thanks for sharing! i haven’t tried the purple miracles line yet, but i’m definitely adding it to my list. pantene and l'oreal really do have some hidden gems, and it’s awesome to hear how well they work for you. ahhh i love that drugstore haircare is getting the appreciation it deserves!!! 💕
Drugstore haircare literally gives me eczema on my face, around my eyes mostly. The hate is valid. Stopped getting eczema once i stopped using haircare that has an enormous ingredient list. Tried and tested it, cannot use anything with sulfates for example 🤷♀️ Wish I could use it but nope.
@@erasedshallbehisname5100 obviously i wasn’t talking about cases like yours, i was referring to people that just discredit drugstore hair care for its low price or because “they have bad ingredients” when in reality they use the same as high end.
L’Oréal supports genocide so not sure why you’re still using it. And Redken is from the same company anyway. Just stop funding genocide, which should be easy since you like drugstore. Most drugstore is crap though let’s be honest

A white coton t-shirt ? You just won my attention right away. I will definitely go buy one at Walmart this weekend, it's not negotiable!! I use a towel fiber from the dollar tree but it doesn't absorb well so I always end up drying my hair with my regular body towel. Thanks for the tip 😊
yay! i’m so glad you liked that tip! a white cotton t-shirt works wonders for drying hair-it’s super gentle and actually absorbs moisture better than some of those cheaper towels. definitely worth picking one up! hope it makes a difference for you 😊 thanks for watching!
Shampooing in sections is actually really smart. You actually clean every section in depth instead of all at once and you avoid missing spots or not adding enough in a particular area. Awesome video as always!
thanks so much! i’m glad you found the shampooing in sections tip helpful!! it’s such a simple change, but it really makes a big difference in making sure every part of your scalp gets the attention it needs. i’ve found it especially useful when my hair is feeling extra oily or after using a lot of styling products. appreciate your support, and i’m so happy you enjoyed the video! 💕
Haircare is like 50% diet, 40% routine, and like 10% hair products. It’s more important to have a consistent routine than to have the “best” products you can find! And it’s even more important to eat lots of protein, omega 3’s and make sure that you’re not deficient in anything, especially iron and vitamin d. Genetics also do play a role in hair care but not a big one. Scalp massages daily also make a huge impact
yess those are great points!! having a consistent routine and a balanced diet are so crucial for healthy hair-way more important than just chasing the “best” products. protein, omega-3s, and making sure you’re not deficient in key nutrients like iron and vitamin d can really make a difference. and yes, scalp massages are such an underrated game changer! thanks for sharing these tips! 💕
You got it- our bodies cut off nutrient supply to hair, skin & nails first and foremost when we get sick, extremely stressed or even just deficient in any area( like a tree that sacrifices specific leaves to preserve the healthier ones ). It's unnecessary for our hair, skin & nails to be in tip top shape for us to survive sickness, so they're sacrificed asap to help us get through the trenches 🍁🍁🍁 Not to mention, it matters very little what products you purchase & apply if you're just heavy-handed as hell when detangling, washing or styling your strands on the daily, weekly, monthly- so please, be gentle 🌱🌱🌱

I have curly hair so I do need a protective style at night. I slept I a bun for years but lately have been sleeping in a plop. That is a T Shirt but the hair is placed ends first in the middle of the T Shirt and then the T Shirt placed on the head so that all the curls are in a “scrunch” to be held for as long as the T Shirt is on. Most curly girls will plop their hair for 10-15 minutes after washing but I’ve been plopping all night every night. Right after washing, I put my wet hair into a T Shirt plop overnight and in the morning it’s damp but not super wet and really cuts down my diffusing time. On non hair wash days I put some gel into my hair at night and scrunch and then put it into a plop for overnight and I have amazing curls the next day.
These are good tips but tbh I think we’ve all heard of these before. A couple points I’ve gotten from the Reddit long hair community and personal/historical knowledge: - The benefit with DIY products are that they are all natural not filled with chemicals and have stood the test of time and convenient bc a lot is already in your kitchen - Keratin treatments are kind of damaging, lots of harsh chemicals (even formaldehyde free ones) but not hair Botox - With sleeping in buns, if it’s too tight it defeats the purpose. I heard braids do work great
thanks for your comment! i totally get where you’re coming from-some of these tips might be familiar, especially if you’re deep into hair care communities like the one on reddit. you’re right that diy products can be a great all-natural option, especially since they’re easily accessible and have been used for ages. but for me, the convenience of store-bought alternatives that are more concentrated and time-saving has been a game changer, especially as a busy mom. about keratin treatments, i completely understand the concern about harsh chemicals. it’s true that some treatments contain formaldehyde or release it during the process, but it’s important to remember that formaldehyde is found in a lot of everyday things, like nail polish, certain household products, and even some foods. it’s really about the dose and exposure. when done in a well-ventilated salon, the risk can be minimized significantly. still, it’s definitely not for everyone, and if you’re concerned, alternatives like hair botox might be worth exploring like you mentioned as for sleeping in buns, you’re so right-keeping it loose is key to avoiding damage. braids can definitely be a great alternative too, though in my experience, sometimes they leave my ends feeling a bit rough due to friction. it’s all about finding what works best for your hair. thanks again for sharing your insights!! 💕
I love your videos I just ordered the Verona hair growth formula and the Pantene pro vitamin essence spray repair mist and I’m so excited to try them both out
Hi Audrey! I love your videos, but one thing I want to point out for what you said in the beggining of the video is that while DIY hair remedies are old fashioned, they are made sure by us that they are 100% natural and not diluted with chemicals and add-ins. Alternative ready made products that you can buy at the store are mostly 97% chemicals and only 3% of what you actually need (which is the good stuff for your hair). They claim to label that they are 100% of pure origin but if you read the list of ingredients the rice water, aloe Vera, avocado etc are at the very bottom of the list or atleast, near to the bottom which indicates that there's more add-ins than the actual thing you bought it for. I don't agree with your first statement.
I don't think that keratin treatment is really good, I had a friend who extremely thick and long hair but it was curly and always dreamed of having straight hair but couldn't get her hair done everytime she washes her hair so she got a keratin and protein treatment and after a few months her hair started falling out but she thought she was just shedding and that it is totally normal but she lost like half of her hair and now she's struggling to grow it back
i’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s experience. i’ve actually seen keratin treatments have the opposite effect for some people, helping them grow their hair out super long because it keeps the hair protected and strong. but it really depends on the person. it’s definitely important to get it done by a trusted professional and follow the right aftercare. hope your friend’s hair recovers soon!! 💕
I hope this doesn’t happen to me, I got keratin treatment 2 months ago🥲 I have fine hair, and I’ve already lost a ton of hair the past months because of stress and hormonal changes. Just recently stopped shedding like crazy
It’s a coating for gaps and tears in the hair..if she already had long hair she probably didn’t need it and the extra coating weighed it down blocked out moisture and caused breakage. She prob had low porosity hair. That hair type doesn’t need anything coating and weighing the hair down
Guys keratin is only for high porosity hair. Either damaged or just naturally high porosity. If you have low porosity and do a keratin treatment your hair will fall out.
awwww, thank you so much!! i’m so grateful for your support over the years-it means the world to me! 💕 so glad you’re enjoying the videos! sending lots of love your way! 😘
Can you give tips for low porosity hair? 🎉❤ I wash my hair everyday (I'm 20) it gets greasy really fast, I have to wash every day if not every other day at the least it will be drenched
try a clarifying shampoo once a week and focus on lightweight, water-based products. shampoo your scalp twice, and use warm water to rinse before shampooing. dry shampoo on non-wash days can also help with the oils. hope this helps! 💕
i’m all about using what works best for your hair, and for a lot of people, sulfates and silicones can actually be really beneficial. they’re not the villains they’re often made out to be-it’s just about understanding how to use them to keep your hair healthy and happy. everyone’s hair is different, so it’s all about finding what works for you! 💕
I have very dry scalp with oily hair and I'm thinking of getting the rosemary water you metioned but do I only spray the water on my scalp and leave in conditioner on my hair?
If your hair is oily, then your scalp is probably oily because the sebum that makes hair oily comes from the scalp. A lot people mistake dandruff flakes for dry scalp, it's actually oily scalp. Just do some research about dandruff and see if it applies to you.
For me what works amazingly is any product that is natural ( body cream, face wash , body wash , shampoo , conditionner , hair and face masks ....) not necessarily diy , they can be brands but natural ...
Does it matter if your hair is dry or wet when applying products? I apply a leave in conditioner and oil when I get out of the shower in the mornings but nothing at night..
it does matter! applying products on wet or damp hair, like leave-ins and oils, help lock in moisture and can make your hair softer and more manageable. applying at night on dry hair can also be beneficial, especially if your hair needs extra hydration. you might want to try a light leave-in or oil before bed to keep your hair nourished overnight. it’s all about finding what works best for your routine! 💕
You actually spend more money on DIY’s it’s not free and it’s definitely not cheaper. by the time you spend the money on all the ingredients you could’ve just bought a product that had all the ingredients already in it. 😂
soo true! diy might seem cheaper at first, but all those ingredients can really add up. sometimes, it’s just easier (and more cost-effective) to grab a product that’s already got everything you need. plus, it saves so much time! 😂 thanks for pointing that out!
yess! to speed up trimming split ends, try the “search and destroy” method: take small sections of your hair, twist them tightly, and snip off any split ends that stick out. it’s quick and lets you focus just on the damaged parts without a full trim. hope that helps! 💕

Here’s a hair care tip that I continued to say RUBBING HAIR IS DAMAGING! Hair is not that strong use your finger tips to clean the scalp and NEVER bunch up the hair when shampooing. This is the basic knowledge by the way.
i totally get it-seeing hair fall out when you condition can be stressful. it’s normal to lose some strands since they’re already loose, but try being extra gentle when applying it or apply in sections to reduce tugging. you could also try a lighter conditioner to see if that helps. hope this helps a bit! 💕
It can seem like it, it happens to me too. The reality is that it’s the normal amount of hair loss, but my hair texture retains the fallen hair rather than it slipping out throughout the day. Once I apply conditioner it finally has enough “slip” to more readily be removed from my hair. It’s also why people with textured hair can form locs or “dreadlocks” faster than silky straight hair. If I have the build up of stuck hair it can seem like a significant hair loss when it isn’t. Rather, you can tell hair loss by a widening of your hair part. More scalp will show through in general with significant hair loss as well as a noticeable loss of density/thickness. Hair loss from conditioner doesn’t happen often unless overly heavy hair products are being used on the wrong hair type for a significant amount of time in my experience and knowledge.
The last part where you mentioned that silicones aren't bad. THANK YOU!! I was one of those girlies who was a part of the 'all natural, no silicones or sulphates' hair care trend for years.
