For those who cannot eat dairy, this recipe is very similar to my mother's recipe. The dairy milk has successfully been swapped out with almond milk or coconut milk in my family. Coconut milk gives it a subtle improvement in flavor and texture, too.

I have made your chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, carrot, chocolate chip, and brown butter cake. They always come out perfect 👍🏾. I sometimes make 2 small 6 inch two layer cakes out of 1 whole recipe. 😊 ❤❤❤
I just made this cake but turned it into cupcakes lol. My kiddos are going to wake up so excited! Also I only added 3 cups of powdered sugar to my icing it was the perfect amount for me. 👌🏽🧁

A while back I took John’s advice and began measuring my flour by weight instead of volume. Out of curiosity, though, I first measured by volume (spooning into measuring cups as usual) then proceeded to weigh it. I ended up with an extra 1/4 cup!

I live in the south of France we are approaching Strawberry season, probably within the next two weeks. That cake looks so delicious. Don't think my tummy could cope with so much butter and icing sugar. Might trade custard for filling and cream for the top and sides.
I am using homemade Vanilla Sugar. Not just wonderful to flavour cake but also pancakes and so many other sweet things. I will try this cake on Sunday.

i'll be making that as a sheet cake 9x13x2 aluminum pan like you're using for round . Should I use a cake strip? It will be coming out of the pan onto a covered cake carrier.
