A much needed update on these 20’year old cars. He will enjoy the Kei audio speakers and better radio. But a subwoofer does sound pretty good in the trunk. Retaining the steering wheel controls is a nice feature!
I'm installing Kee Audio's Level 5 Speaker System and watched your videos... here and the speaker installation... one of the better tutorials for Trans Am. Kudos! It did however, keep bugging me that no one I've found so far even speaks about the smaller connector that comes out of the radio, so I looked at the wiring diagram. That connector is for the CD Changer, is why you didn't have to use any wires from it. Dark Green: System On (10) Black: Ground (7) Orange: Power (5) Black/White: Audio Return (3) Dark Green/White: Right Audio Signal (2) Brown/White: Left Audio Signal (1)
I finished the install... receiver, all 10 speakers... sound is awesome. ! Also feels almost like driving a new car, with the touch screen and new sound. The Axxess control for my steering wheel controls (not part of the Kee Audio kit) looks like its trying to be recognized, but doesn't take. I gotta work that out, and I'm going to install backup camera next.
KEE AUDIO for the WIN! IAN IS THE MAN!!! im rockin his lvl 5 cdt set up with 11 speakers, counting a custom 10" stealth sub set up he built me... no offense, but i am just not a truck guy, in fact the only thing i hate worse than trucks are suvs, & the only thing i hate more than suvs are electric suvs! im a "car guy" ...trucks are for home-depot-runs & to bring home "car" parts (but to each to their own as they say haha) so its great to actually see another f-body gettin some love! thanx man

Got mine installed today...I was having trouble getting the SWC to sync I was worried about the extra blue wire out of the main switch as it didn't connect to anything...however one complete reset on the box and BOOM like magic it worked. Thanks again for the videos I wasn't kidding when i said it pushed me to actually install mine.
Pretty much caught up… made it almost to the end after a year of being behind. I see you guys are going with Kee Audio… I mentioned it before on here years ago for my 98’ T/A. I swapped mine and man, wow… what a huge difference. It sounds amazing!!!! Looking forward to the next couple final videos I have left. Great stuff Travis.
I had a spare metra plug from a different kit and popped the pin added it to the harness when I did the steering controls. Kinda goofy but definitely cleaner than chopping or splicing factory harness.
I just did this in my TA last week! I went with the same adapter for the steering wheel controls, but I can’t get it to sync. I have a similar head unit but it’s the DMH-341EX. Keep up the good work!
I’m going to call them tomorrow! I tried the auto connection, it goes through all the correct light sequences, also tried numerous times manually. Thanks for all the help!
Nice job to you and your son o the pioneer radio install.. I hope that he keeps his Ws6 for many years down the road.. it's getting harder and harder to find em in really good condition.. I'm still looking for a while formula Ws6 for my wife that is like new...
Thanks for all the trans am videos. I own a 2000 NBM ws6 and have been wanting to do the double deck mod for a while. This pushed me to do it. I will more than likely do the speakers as well...and the 4:10 gears in these cars make one hell of a difference. I've got Richmond gears in mine and they whine a little at 70+ mph but those with 11" r888's tires make this one hell of a whole shot/to 3rd car.
I loveeeeeeeeee the car man!!!!! Im glad its low miles!! Mines low miles too, however im afraid to do a lot to it. Its got Hooker True dual exhuast, Koni shocks, 1.2" lowering springs all around, SLP lid andddddddddddddd thats it lol. Stock rims, and tires dated from 2006 LOL Eagle F1's similar to what came on it stock LOL. They are hard and its so fun to feel them slide. i want rims but can;t decide on what, and can't figure out what will work with the lowering. A friend of mine who i found out also watches your channel, was talking to me about putting the stock springs back on it because im not going to lie i do not like the ride quality despite having koni yellows that are nearly $1k for front and back. I wish the front wheels were deep dish like the rears i'd have to pick these up from you lol. They don't look bad in my opinion.
I have the KEE Audio Level 4 setup. Speakers are amazing but the ones in the sail panel vibrate real bad when you try and get some bass to them. Also remember they are DVC, even from the factory, so make the connections accordingly!!!
hey man quick question a friend gave me his single din car play radio , would i be able to fit that in my TA with an adapter or is it just strictly double din?
I have a 2002 Firebird with the Monsson system and am replacing the head unit. I want to do the same trick you did with the wiring harness, however how do I count the pins to make sure I put the one in where pin 14 should be?
So I’m installing a radio in my 4th gen camaro as well… I have a question about a few wires… the yellow and black wires can I just connect them to the yellow and black wires in the connectors instead of actually grounding the black one and running a yellow wires directly to the battery? Other than that I replaced all 6 speakers with kicker components and no subwoofer either it’s just my work car. But my head unit is the alpine radio which is super cool. Thanks in advance 👍🏼 love this channel a lot!!! Keep up the awesome videos I watch them and save a lot of them to watch again later lol
I want this to be my first car. I am 15 years old and going to work all summer this year and just love the looks of this, is there anything I should know about this vehicle?
If you add a subwoofer box in the left rear location where an oem cd changer would have been installed, can you use the wire from there to the radio for the new head unit line out to a subwoofer amp located adjacent to said box?
Hey bud great video I bought all the components on you link. On the aswc 1 3.5mm rca jack do I have to wire the female end in or is there a plug in on the back of the stereo
Thanks for the video man I’m doing exactly what you did in this video right now but for some reason when I volume down it mutes my stereo any thoughts? P.S I have the exact same stereo and programmer as y’all so everything should be the same
I have the pioneer DMH-A345BT and the AXXESS AXSWC interface in a 2002 Trans Am and I cannot configure the steering wheel controls. What procedure do you use?
I did a double din in my 98 T/A and the biggest issue was the steering wheel control adapter. There are 2 blue wires on the factory harness which I connected the wrong one.
I crashed my 98 trans am and now heart broken I still have the car and now just saving every penny to get her flying again. Side collision and bend the frame. I'm here in SF bay area. Does anyone know of a good auto body shop around here or even out of state? I'm willing to go anywhere to get my car fixed....
