Thanks for showing step-by-step how to install these brackets. It's taken a few tries but I finally replicated your good work. One of my flanges was badly mangled and I really struggled to get the metal straight enough for the bracket to align at a 90 degree angle to the punched holes. I finally just bolted the bracket dangling in place at an angle, slipped my jack under one edge, lifted gently, and popped the bracket into place using the hydraulic pressure. It finally worked and it fits perfectly. Thanks again.

Great video, man! I just ordered mine. I bought my car (2002 Camaro SS 35th T-top) from a collector about a year ago @ 3,900 miles, and there's about 6,000 on there now. I hope mine aren't bent, but they either ARE or WILL BE as soon as some bozo puts it on a 4-point lift. I'm very glad that you are still SO involved with the meager F-body, with that BRUTE of a ZR1 in the same garage, as there are many F-body owners who benefit from your videos, while comparatively few ZR1 owners. Don't get me wrong; I love the ZR1 content and THAT is the car that I aspire to, and exactly that color. I believe that was 2009-2011 only. I want my "Blue Devil" to actually be that beautiful blue. One never knows when a car (particularly a rare one) bottoms out in value and starts to go up again. I think the F-body is on the way up. I hope the C6 ZR1 stays steady for a while, as I aspire to save up for one. While I respect the C7 ZR1, I'm more a of C6 man, myself. Although I like all of the generations, the 4th-gen F-body and the 6th-gen Corvette are my all-time favorites, and it really doesn't matter to me what else they make, because I can't afford it anyway!!!

Thank you. Fbodys are my all time favorite cars. The ZR1 is fun but I couldn't do without a Trans am. I too like the c6 more.

Hey man, thanks for putting up such a thorough and positive video! I showed this video to the lead engineer who thought up this product and he is also glad to see that you are enjoying it! 20 Years ago my flange was bent on the very first trip to the dealership by the HIGHLY SKILLED GM tech. I have to have these to correct a problem that has existed since day 3. I still have the 99 SS. Thanks Detriot Speed !

Took long enough for these to come out lol. All 3 of my f-bodies had this issue. I also posted on a reply sometime in 98 or 99 the plastic blocks got removed. My 98 ws6 had blocks my 97 v6 had blocks and so did my 96. I still wouldn't jack on the plastic blocks. I have done it but better on the rail and like always I use wood between. Never slipped out even at a ridiculous angle.
I also had some fun when I parted my 97. I picked up the whole car with my new big jack from the transmission brace lol!. The flying f bod :).

There is actually a jacking block which I think normally attaches to those two holes(the ones you tapped) on my car. Its made of plastic so I'm guessing it may break off on a lot of cars but mine are still there. I never use them personally, I use the subframes. The plastic ones are described in the manual, but probably designed to interact with the trunk jack. Anyway, nice unit, easy bolt on and for those with bulged fenders it going to get things nice and straight.

@@simonriddick My 96 had the rubber blocks, the 02 doesn't and now I have the bent tabs. Car went 18 years with them perfect and I had a cast on my hand so I took it to a "great shop" to get the trans fluid changed and got it back with both of them mangled to hell, on the one side it actually cracked off one of the fender bolt holes. :( Never thought I need these but great video and thanks!

Very cool! And a true "bolt on" application! I will have to look in to getting a set. Also, do you have sub frame stiffeners installed? If not, will you? I think a few of the well known chassis companies out there are weld on. What are your thoughts?

It was a small pain to straighten it out enough to get everything to align up enough for the bracket to be installed. Oddly enough, my fender also wasn't that misaligned even though the frame under the fender was mangled.
