Lakshmi-2: "There will be bodies in the streets if we do not prevent it." Also Lakshmi-2: "I am not above leaving bodies in the street to get those filthy Fallen out of MY city"
she ever consider the vex may be using her to tear the city apart? I never thought of the vex as malicious but, it is their time simulation, and lakshmi is using it without permission...
@@DE0.01 the vex literally want to assimilate our universe, the only reason they havent suceeded is because each guardian has a unique frecuency of their light and that is the only thing they cant simulate in order to know how to assimilate it.
Lakshmi-2 mentioned that they used "vex-derived" technology to see into the future. Considering that the endless night was caused by the vex, is it not possible that the visions Lakshmi are seeing is because the vex want her to see them, and therefore cause her to distrust the house light fallen? If so, then would that mean the vex see house light as a threat to what they are trying to do?
The only reason why we can win is because of house light, and the fact is maybe quira is behind it Like I said before Beyond light is the year of building friendships and companions, whilst enemies too along the way The Witch Queen next year is all about trust lies and truth
Quria is already manipulating ACTUAL Vex, like whole Axis Minds, and Lakshmi-2 thinks it’s a god idea to rely on her Vex Tech when Mithrax is sending her data that shows this massive looming presence manipulating the Network? Man, she deserves what’s coming to her.
Might be a couple layers of manipulation - there’s been plenty of evidence of Savathun getting involved and masterminding this all, I’d put money on it being either a simple ploy to raise distrust (and by extension, her power), or else the House of Light would be trouble for her future plans in particular
Remember, no-one except for Caiatl and Osiris (and us of course but that’s obvious) know that the Crown is in the city, Osiris just casually decided to keep it a secret from the Vanguard
One thought on the line "where are the guardians?" It has been stated that the vex are able to predict everything...except for us. This could be a real world example of the vex not being able to account for the guardians. Just a thought
I believe you are right. The Vex can not predict paracausal entities. They've always had a hard time dealing with us and being unable to properly counter any of our attacks. Way back when we rescued Saint, they had no way of predicting that we would come back in time to prevent them from killing him. Every single incursion that they have done has been thwarted by us, they had no way to adequately counter our offensive. I mean... The Vex actively avoid the darkness (with the exception of a pocket group that seem to be corrupted by the Dark) In our own terminology, it seems that they fear it and want nothing to do with it.
@@neowelchsevilism Yeah, all Vex except the Sol Divisive avoid the darkness. The Sol divisive aren't corrupted by it, though. they voluntarily decided to worship it
We cannot be simulated only when using our Paracausal power. If we are just walking and shooting a normal gun, then those are not actions that break the laws of causality and can therefore be predicted. It's our ability to come back to life and other things that are unique.
Are we gonna talk about the fact that Asher is mentioned in that lore tab, I know it’s just a potential future but if this is a vex prediction, wouldn’t that mean that the vex believe Asher is still alive? Fascinating
Well, it does make some sense, because before Io became consumed by the darkness, Asher brought down the pyramidion onto himself during the final moments. It could mean that Asher became one of the Vex Network and is very much alive... But at the same time, I could be wrong because Sloan did die when Titan was consumed by the darkness.
Would like to point out that the only person who has questioned Lakshmi's use of the Vex Future Device is Mithrax. It's like no-one in the Last City went "Wait, what if this device is showing you what the Vex want you to see, not what you want to see?". It boggles my brain every time it's brought up.
There is that Navarro guy, the man that resigned from the FWC that called her out on that too, and how many futures she has seen are only rubish, but Lakshmi doesn't tell anyone that
Another point: in season 13 (and many times before) but in this example Crow litteraly says “the vex have always had a hard time predicting you” so any and I mean any of these futures are garbage they won’t happen exactly as said because the vex fail to predict us and it is a vex predication machine
Something I thought was interesting about that conversation: Mithrax offered to have his splicers improve the device and make it safer, but Osiris rejected the idea. He sounded nervous. Pretty suspicious if you ask me
Lakshmi-2 dose say it is "vex derived". Far as I know the device comes from maya shundereshes (Sorry for spelling) team and research. It might take inspiration from vex technology but it might not be made from vex it self
Jahlal seems to be on the fence, as he was preparing to leave... remember the lore stated he always had to struggle to not try and gain more power in a dying city. So as far as that goes he might still be on the fence. Even in the 7 futures that Lakshmi saw there was one where dead orbit left.
I mean, I’d rather listen to her abysmal demonic shrieking then listen to Lakshmi try and trash talk my boi Mithrax again. When she was just trashing him with total lies this week I wanted to Lament her head clean off. No one insults Misraaks-kel, I’ve been waiting for years for a Fallen like him to show up and be a badass, and he’s the best dang background mission voiceover yet, such a badass growl to his speech. Lakshmi ain’t got nothing on him.
As with anything involving Savathun there's no hard proof but, if we did actually see Quria the first time we entered the Vex Network, it and the Device are absolutely compromised. Lakshimi-2 has been feeding data we've pulled from the network during Override/Expunge into the Device. There was also the bit of Dialogue at the end of the first Expunge mission where Mithrax mentions there's some kind of influence he doesn't recognize within the network. It's my belief that he was noticing Quria/Savathun. Subtlety manipulating Lakshimi-2 through what she's been seeing through the Machine would also be a very "Savathun" thing to do. Byf has pretty well demonstrated that Lakshimi-2 desires to rule, so I think it would be very easy for the Witch Queen to give her a mental 'push' into doing something she already wants to do. Why openly attack the City yourself if you can get someone on the inside to destabilize it for you?
@@MythicMagus Not only that, but you must remember that Savathun might already have control over almost the entire City, and might just be waiting for the right time to bring that card into play. Savathun might not be controlling Lakshmi-2 to try and become dictator of the Last City, maybe Lakshmi is doing that by herself, and playing right into Savathun's hands. And, like you said, if we did see Quria in the first mission, then the Vex network is already compromised. The vision that Lakshmi got might not even be true at all, and might also be a trick by Savathun.
I had my concerns about the device before I heard Savathun may be involved. Sure she may have predicted the Red War, but what about Kell Scourge? Cayde-6? Caital? Did she know anything about the False Night before it was dumped on us? Where were those predictions? She’s spouting about one potential future, how many others has she seen that she neglects to mention? This device is supposedly Vex tech, and we have our own problems with the Vex as it is. They can predict the future with uncanny accuracy, but one Guardian can throw their entire setup out of wack. How does that work in a city with a whole slew of Guardians? This False Night is a Vex attack, whose to say they haven’t hacked the Device and are feeds her bad data. Those were just some of my questions beforehand. Now we’ve got Hive magic in this mess? Get that thing outta here!
>The Device is Vex-derived technology. >Quria, Blade Transform is a Taken Vex Axis Mind currently in the thrall of Savathûn. I sure hope people are getting my point here.
Nope not at all ;) But yeah this is a one way ramp we are running on anyway, vex have problems predicting guardians, like major problems. Anyone who reads or listens to byf for the lore knows that, so none of those will come to pass, the only way to try using a uncorrupted vex future prediction engine would be focusing on the vex, cabal, and what's left of the "fallen" the non house of light murder hobos. As the guardians and hive have some paracausal ability.
@@Typhoon.703_ I wonder if the Vex even know/realize Quria is compromised and no longer cares about enforcing the Pattern. Surely it must have notified them of its impending doom in that last infodump right before it was Taken.
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.” Cicero
Honestly, I feel like the FWC would have been and still could be a more interesting and honestly more likeable faction if they partook in traditional ways of predicting futures, at least on a militaristic level. Logistical exercises, War Games, in-depth analysis of After Action Reports and foreign troop movements, that sort of thing. Not what Lakshmi is doing, being solely reliant on botched Vex space-magic that is almost definitely compromised by Quria and is made damn near useless because Guardians are a thing.
@@syli3694 Congratulations! You can read a title. I'm well aware they're a cult. But before Lakshmi's... Xenophobia and after Maya's replacement by her, there was to my knowledge, a brief period where they behaved less in the way of a group driven by ideological fanaticism and more as a group that would prepare for the darkest of futures. Factions can change as people come and go you know.
They might have to rename the faction to Tactical War Cult. Still I would support this IF they also changed their color scheme to something better than the paint at a roller rink in 1978.
I'm looking forward to the look on Lakshimi-2's face when we figure out that Quria has been controlling the Device ever since the FWC found it. That future you thought you were seeing? It was only what Savathun wanted you to see. How's it feel to be a fiddle old girl?
I'm hoping that we get an awesome cutscene at the end of this season that those who are behind this endless night see that Lakshmi has outlived her usefulness and they overload the device while she is using it, causing her head to explode.
@@neowelchsevilism oh no... if the house of light engineers modify the device for more ease of access, the forces behind the endless night could do what you described and frame the engineers!

"You're well aware of this, Lakshmi. There called predictions for a reason. And you of all people should know this: Us Guardians make our own fate." - Benin Malgaard to Lakshmi-2
Lakshmi has forgotten something very critical about her little Vex prediction engine. It has been invalid since the Vex *made a guess that they couldn't accurately predict* back in the Taken War.
@@Dryde85you see, all of the Vex's prediction are made with huge numbers and information of the universe and stuff, basically everything that is natural. HOWEVER the Darkness with the Traveler/Light are unnatural, above the laws of nature. The guardians are made with Light from the Ghosts, which are from the Traveler, making them unnatural as well, unpredictable for Vex calculations.
@@Flamme-Sanabi and, let us not forget, the only time the device made an accurate prediction, at least to my knowledge, was when gaul bound the traveller at the start of the red war, an action which made all guardians no longer paracausal. Plus, whilst i am not fully aware of what the red war prediction was, i am willing to bet that they did not see the triumph of the guardians over the cabal, and certainly not in the manner that they happened during the campaign. Which would suggest that the reason the red war prediction was accurate was because the traveller was bound, largely removing the paracausal element from the equation.
Okay, so the Vex saw their own immutable end at the hands of Oryx and the Taken. They fundamentally *could not* predict a future where they were not wiped out completely, so they did something they never had before, in any time, ever. They sent out a Hail Mary to the Guardian who killed their killer. They invited us into the Vault. Didn't even shoot us on the way in because they *needed* to convey the enormity of this instance. And inside, they brought us to that end that they could not see beyond. And then we killed it for them. "Can minds the size of planets be wrong?" Praedyth had asked. The answer is yes. They can. Their minds could never *not* see utter oblivion. Because we cannot be predicted at all, they tossed their entire way of existence out the window and guessed. This effectively reduces all predictions made by Vex or Vex-based devices fixed in our present time to total garbage. The FWC got *lucky* with the Red War in the same way that someone who buys twenty thousand lottery tickets gets lucky. It is so laughably inaccurate that calling it a prediction engine at all is just a bad joke. It's a roulette wheel on its best day. And that best day is never coming again.
IMO the House of Light shouldn’t speak for every single Fallen. We can’t just pin everything other Houses have done on them. Mithraax earned my trust a long time ago. Lakshmi has lost mine.
Mitraks doesn't speak for every fallen. He speaks for the Eliksni that want a better life and believe they can live alongside humanity in peace. Lakshmi is trying to pin the past on the House of Light to demonize them to gain control in the city. She's playing a very dangerous game with innocent lives. Human and Eliksni alike... Blaming all Eliksni for what the Fallrn have done... Might as well blame all guardians for what lightbearers did in the dark ages. And beings she's an Exo... Maybe we should blame her for what Clovis Bray has done.
“Eliksni and House Light are layers in the political scheme, you are all still Fallen.” Or something like that, Lakshmi says. You are an Exo, a being created by a lunatic hellbent on immortality after studying a dangerous race of robots who want to extinguish all life. So does that make you a Vex subtype? Or a droid since you lack the necessary parts to be considered human? In that end, what about us? The Warlords and Iron Lords were just people wielding paracausal might right? She is such a tool.
@@neowelchsevilism i wouldnt doubt if she has actually secretly contacted or met big papa clovis and learned his ways of the vex portal, which led the vault of glass for sure, and very probably the portal on mars that led to the black garden that we learned about in d1. And if so she has probably been corrupted by the darknes that clovis researched
Lakshmi never had mine, and my first encounter with Mithras wa the enemy of my enemy mission. When he had me at this mercy and didn’t kill me, or thanked me for my assistance I knew he was on our side.
Hilariously my Warlock uses all the finishers that involve punching, drop kicks, and other punching/melee stuff. I do like reading books and books can get very heavy.
“Guardians make their own fates” Bungie should officially make that Destiny’s slogan. Like “Make your own fate” or something. It makes so much more sense story-wise than “Become Legend.” Become Legend makes more sense for cyberpunk 2077 than destiny.
I think it made sense story wise for Destiny 1, since everything we did "grow our legend". We destroyed the heart of the Black Garden, we slayed two Hive Gods, brought down the Kell of Kells, and became the first of a new generation of Iron Lords. But we're already legends in Destiny 2 so "Become Legend" doesn't really mean anything now. I like to imagine they retired the quote after Ghaul used it at the end of the Red War and the Traveler destroyed him, not to mention that the Speaker is dead now.
As a titan, I had my ghost make my brain as smooth as possible to help it deflect as much incoming gunfire as possible. I deflect everything off of it now, including thoughts not about punching.
The fact that Lakshmi 2 is voiced by Shohreh Aghdashloo who also stared as Chrisjen Avasarala, the ace politician in The Expanse, was warning sign enough.
I think they do have one though, there are a lot of entries for that after all. Problem is just that the device is not all that accurate, when Guardians come into the equation.
Something I missed when reading the lore tab "Asher speaks." Is Asher coming back, is he a Vex now, or might he be the final piece of the puzzle to ending the Endless Night?
Thanks byf, you make seasons much more interesting with your lore gathering and presentation. Honestly i couldnt imagine how boring the seasonal story would be without loretabs and you putting them together in a digestable fashion :)
That was the point of the video I think, she's trying to drive future 7 into existence which makes sense given one of the titles was "prophet" and Lakshmi going on and on about how house light would eventually betray the city then they do would definitely earn her the title of prophet.
Our only chance to win is further sueing for peace and üut lahksmi under arrest. Treating eliksni as people and report crimes whoever has comitted them to be ruled out by law. Like nowerdays law functions
My theory is that Savathun is using Quira to manipulate “the device” to show Lakshami-2 futures which benefit Savathun, thus the spreading of hatred and Savathun’s song. Would make a great lead up to the witch queen dlc
Forget saving zavala we straight up erased the undying mind from existence when we pulled it from every conceivable timeline and killed it again and again to prevent it from sealing the black garden and reastablishing the heart. This also locked the black garden to the moon iirc.
Best case: We find Asher and he helps end the endless night. Worst case: He is fully converted and will be the catalyst that leads to Vex invading The City after tricking Lakshmi into thinking it will progress her agenda of controlling The City. Even Worst Case: Worst Case happens and she tricks everyone into believing Mithrax caused it, and she becomes ruler of The City.
Oh my gosh, history is repeating itself! FWC got its validity after a faction overstepped its bounds and tried to take power, that same thing could be happening again!
2 things: literary tradition always shows that looking at the future and trying to achieve it almost always creates a new unseen future since looking ahead changes your course immediately. And 2 now I have to go look up Asher as he/she is mentioned multiple times with speaking. New speaker? Love your narratives! It really brings the lore to life and helps me catch up on lore I missed! Thank you.
Someone get Eris to the city already so she can point out what the song's tune is and they can get Lakshmi to understand she's being manipulated by Savathun into believing the altered visions provided by Quoria
@@thesecretsage6642 bro eris was like: yeah this song is very dangerous and hearing it is permanent and also you are at risk of being controlled by savuthun. Wanna hear it?
I wonder if the reason why Bungo quietly did away with Faction rallies was, at some point when planning this who knows how long ago, they knew it would be best. I was super for FWC because I liked the colors and concept. Now I'm ready to cave Lakshmi's tin can of a head in. Maybe we'll get out of this with a new set of Factions. Who knows.
Indeed my friend. I was also for the FWC but since this season.... But I could imagine Factions like races now. F.e. in a future season we will have an Eliksni Faction, Cabal Faction and maybe even a Hive Faction (which I really hope to) with a Human Faction in the City.
@@yapyapking2054 impretty new to the lore so sorry if i make mistakes, but arent the hive being controlled by the worm gods inside their bodies? How could they be a faction in the city?
@@boombooms7920 You’re correct. The hive as they are now I don’t think could ever be allied with. Even on tense terms. But maybe we could get what the Hive were before the worms. That would be WILD.
@@boombooms7920 Almost correct (I think). I'm not sure if the Hive are controlled by worm gods. I atleast thought that they had (own) worms given by worm gods which are "forcing" them f.e. like tricking others etc. In the lore Savathun already tried to find a way to remove her worm which didn't worked. But I'm sure that we somehow will remove the worms from the hive and make them as allies (atleast these are my hopes).
I think Lakshmi-2 might have started in good faith. We have been at war with fallen houses for centuries, so she's checking timelines to see if these are actually different, she then sees a timeline with her in charge and starts down that bad faith path
I know it's a joke but to be honest though, the City has never really been 'great', it's just spent centuries going from one major crisis to another to another to another
A note about "a crackling portal" is very interesting, because Lakshmi at the opening of Override says, that thanks to the data we've got they are trying to stabilze the portal, presumably one of Vex origin.
Something worth noting about the Far Future/Stochastic Variable lore tabs being formatted the same is that they're the ONLY lore tabs formatted this way, and are both recent timeline predictions derived from the Vex Network. The same network we saw Quoria in earlier. And look at what both predictions encourage: Discord, dismissal of authority, self-gratification. They are both encouraging their respective reader to disregard their orders and make their own plans that will inevitably cause strife, even if they succeed. Ixel and the Conclave defying the Empress and assassinating Zavala. Lakshmi and the FWC defying the Vanguard and attacking the House of Light. What if these potential futures aren't impartial vex simulations? What if someone is showing vulnerable, ambitious people what they need to see to do what that someone wants to be done?
The fact that Asher is mentioned here not only in one - but in two - possible futures really stands out to me. The fact they mention it twice signals to me that it is of importance - it might even tell us about what might be happening in the future. The way it stands now, my theory is that during the course of the season there will be a time where a Vex portal opens up in the city, maybe even the Botza district - Mithrax and the other Fallen are fighting back against the Invading Vex. This would match up with the parts of seeing the Fallen with guns and Blood (it is never mentioned whose blood) running along the streets. Asher, as a result of descending into the Pyramidion and becoming a Vex himself, kept some sort of semblance of himself in a similar way to the Captain of the Exodus Black. Asher speaking could hereby mean that he is either speaking to us to warn us of the Vex invasion, or perhaps, turn out to be the leader and the orchestrator behind the endless night. However there's not really any evidence to back these things up.
Also we must be pretty nice guardians to be holding all these lore tabs under wraps. I'd make it all public for the entire city to read...grave consequences aside.
Guardian: "You forgot one thing, vex tech CAN'T predict guardians." Lakshmi: "You've beaten me at my own game." Gaurdian: "Don't flatter yourself... you were never even a player."
Tip for Byf: those glowing vex cubes that you run through in expunge, that work like "checkpoints"... If you hang out next to one, it will open a little AOE where you can extent the timer on the key device. That way you don't end up having to go back and get a new key from a different checkpoint.
It sounds to me that this future is a possibility that may come to pass but may actually happen because of her actions to avoid said future. Either way her interests lie In personal gain.
By my guess, her actions can lead to any of these 7 timelines. She just thinks she can pivot it into the 7th timeline. Her actions fulfill at least 5 outcomes and the 2nd and 3rd just shows the aftermath of The City's defeat. If the placements are based on how likely something will happen, the 7th outcome could be 1/7 of 1/7 chance of happening. Meaning there is only a little more than 2% chance that she will become ruler of the Last City.
I want to add that the equation I used was (1/(7X))*100%. X being the placement of each prediction. Another equation that could work is ((1/7)^X)*100%.Which means there is a 0.000001% chance that Lakshmi will gain control of The City. Both are infinite equations, that start by giving a 14.29% chance of the first prediction occurring, but as the prediction number increases the possibilities are less likely to happen.
Lakshmi probably thinks it's a 1 in 7 chance that she will rule, where as the Psions might think it was my first equation and with their intelligence they could circumvent the other possibilities to hit the 2% chance they are after. If it's the second equation that is the correct percent chance of something happening it would take far more processing power than what I think Psions have to see every necessary action to result in outcome 7.
You talking about a self fullfilling prophecy? You may Think she should know this principle while all the time messing with predictions. You lose connection to you world if u put your mind to the future all the time huh
Just that future entry is all we needed to understand what Lakshmi is doing. From what I gather the machine logs key points leading to a future. Which explains why she is trying to take specific actions and fulfill those points to become ruler. However she is only 1 group and just like ixel she had no control over the actions of others preventing those key points and changing the future.
I was thinking that, the vex have never been on earth so it would be very plausible that they used him to gain knowledge of how things work, or something like that Or maybe we'll find him in the network in expunge
this made me go back and look at Far Future lore tab....there is alot about Hive and The Witch Queen in the possible futures 1-6. I just think it's interesting, I love how these things can be hinted at so well so many months in advance. A few times one can see "a voice behind the darkness". It mentions "hive witches worm", and even "the hive witch flees, they are coming".
I've heard it said that part of the reason Guardians are so hard to simulate is because not only are the Vex unable to simulate Light (they can simulate the effects, such as the destructive power of a nova bomb or the defensive strength of a ward of dawn, but not Light itself), they have no way of knowing when or even if a Guardian will use their Light.
From the moment I met Lakshmi this season I knew she was bad news. Unless something comes along that irrefutably proves that she is right about Mithraxx and House Light I will never stand by her side. Everything she's done and said in game speaks only of a power hungry politician and I want nothing to do with that
In fact if their is a choice, lets see who is left on her side when everyone else is sind with the eliksni What is the city without their immortal protectors? Why fight for it is the thank is lahksmi sabotaging all Efforts for peace.
Btw, during expunge when you activate a ball checkpoint by walking into a cube, it spawns a pool a second after. Standing in the pool with the ball recharges your timer. You don't need to just run like mad until the timer runs out.
I noticed that some of the predictions have repeating or similar events for example. Asher speaks or Zavala dies. Last season one of ixels predictions our assassin actually happened. What if some of these predictions have actual weight on what happens in later expansions or season. Several of the predictions include Asher but he’s been missing since io went. So do the vex consider him to be alive for their predictions if so what does that mean for the worlds the darkness removed if the vex can gain data on people on those planets that disappeared. Just my ideas but If this is correct what can we excpect in the future?

Ixels first vision mentions the City, the crackeling portal, a hive witch and fallen in the streets. Lakshmi-2's vision mentiones the same crackling portal, adds treachery (much like Qaitl's advisor and her portal). it seems a bit too similar to be random. Ixel only mentions it once, but the crackeling portal has been mentioned in two seasons in a row now. All the lore tabs concerning Aunor and her hunt for dark guardians adds to where the possible treachery might come from as well.
I love this gameplay, knowing that there's a hole that leads up into the area that you're supposed to head into once you reach thee end of that initial obstacle course(The end that I'm talking about is the walls that open and close with the closing triangle door just above it) Also, I feel like Lakshmi's over reliance is a bit of a hint of what she may have been like prior to becoming an exo, a cold, calculating liar that wants only the power to control everyone under her. The device gives her a false sense of power and she may not know that she may be being manipulated by Savathun, but I think it may also be possible that the Vex have found a way to control the Device themselves, seeing a future where the Device and Lakshmi would bring them victory over the guardians, or possibly both Vex and Savathun feeding into Lakshmi's distrust of the Eliksni, with what could only be a fragment of a future that will come to pass because, let's be honest, if anything would cause House Light to attack the City, it will all come from retaliation. Honestly, how Lakshmi has been dealing with this situation should call for worry on if she should be on the council or not, because she's inciting violence, not only against the Eliksni, but maybe even against the very guardians that protect the City as well, because remember, she brought up that the Vanguard kept the fact that guardians have been dabbling in Darkness, so the first possible future that questions where the guardians are could be an indicator that they were run out of the city and are thus, not there to defend the citizens from whatever invasion may come. It makes me think that any of these possible fragments of possible futures seems to indicate that Lakshmi would have a hand in it, the city is overrun, the Eliksni scavenging the wreckage and the guardians nowhere to be seen, it feels like Lakshmi is ignoring the fact that these are fragmented futures and a good portion of them pits the FWC against the City, so of course the only one that has Lakshmi on top is the last one, but she may not realize that in going for that future, she may bring the other six down upon the City as well. I feel like, even if we do end the Endless Night, we may lose the Last City regardless.
Agreed, a big factor here is that the Endless Night, which does seem to be caused by Quria might not be the only thing she’s messing with. If she can control other Vex, it becomes a major concern if she’s manipulating the devices the FWC uses, and through them Lakshmi. As well, it may explain how Savathûn’s song has become spliced into their transmissions. Lakshmi is honestly using the City at the second lowest point in its history to try and take over, she’s a pitiful creature.
Taking our light means the City's best fighter is gone. The Red Legion took the tower, but not us, and look what happened. If the Vex or Lakshmi took us, they would practically have the Tower already.
To say that the future work war cult and other factions are going to have a major change after what happens this season is an understatement. What will happen will change everything.
The third possible future talking about dark growths and mutated ghosts is very interesting to me especially since we know that Bungie recently hired someone who used to work on the resident evil series. I hope we're going to see more horror elements like presage in destiny eventually.

Well I mean we wrecked all their simulations, so they might not be certain. Vex hate uncertainty

It has been stated that the vex are able to predict everything...except for us.
I mean... The Vex actively avoid the darkness (with the exception of a pocket group that seem to be corrupted by the Dark)
In our own terminology, it seems that they fear it and want nothing to do with it.
@@neowelchsevilism Yeah, all Vex except the Sol Divisive avoid the darkness. The Sol divisive aren't corrupted by it, though. they voluntarily decided to worship it
I think they are talking about the guardians of the last city and not us.
Also zalava is a guardian so your theory might have holes in them
We cannot be simulated only when using our Paracausal power.
Fascinating
Asher turned himself into a Vex, that means he must've been present in the attack

So am I not wrong to worry that the vex systems could be compromised knowing savathun has her claws on it?
Anything is up for grabs when Hive Magic is involved.
Why openly attack the City yourself if you can get someone on the inside to destabilize it for you?
nope your concern is valid lol

Nope not at all ;)
But yeah this is a one way ramp we are running on anyway, vex have problems predicting guardians, like major problems.

And a new hub called the alliance hall
Im in. Make it happen
No wonder Im getting Arvasavala vibes from her, and its not just the voice.
Yeah she has been in destiny since D1 everytime I hear her I half expecting her to say I need to go to the belt and yeet a nova bomb at Marco
@@ghostplayzbusters Marco deserves a Necrotic Grip treatment for what he's done imho
If Lakshmi becomes ruler of the City, I don't trust her to make it great again.
I know it's a joke but to be honest though, the City has never really been 'great', it's just spent centuries going from one major crisis to another to another to another
You have no argument to not trust her.

A note about "a crackling portal" is very interesting, because Lakshmi at the opening of Override says, that thanks to the data we've got they are trying to stabilze the portal, presumably one of Vex origin.
I wonder if Byf's guardian is one of Ikora's Hidden
Oh hell yeah
There is something wrong with this universe if he isn't.
We can’t ruin his cover you know
Definitely one of the praxic order
I'm pretty sure her and counciler udina are related
Man, Osiris is hiding something. He's sounding weird in some of the new dialogue In the splicer quest.
Yeah, before he just sounded broken, now he sounds furtive.
Osiris more like
Osusris
The vex prediction lore tabs are like concept art in written form, it's a lot of vague but interesting ideas that are really intriguing
Also we must be pretty nice guardians to be holding all these lore tabs under wraps. I'd make it all public for the entire city to read...grave consequences aside.
I think the added dialogue with her and Namresk in the market adds a good amount of context to this as well.
Guardian: "You forgot one thing, vex tech CAN'T predict guardians."
Lakshmi: "You've beaten me at my own game."
Gaurdian: "Don't flatter yourself... you were never even a player."
Fucking gottem
GG
The part about the crackling portal is interesting. I remember Lakshmi talking about perfecting a portal with the data that we get from Override
Stochastic Variable:
"dark growths in the ruins" "mutated ghosts"
Oh I do NOT like that
Also, "Asher speaks"? Interesting
"Greetings, Guardian !" Is Lakshmi a Byf fan ?
Uh oh, She's watching the comments on every single video, she knows we're effing her
The line "Asher speaks" has me very intrigued as to what that means and kinda hope that we go down one of those timelines just to see what it means.
This just in, Endless night caused by Asher Mir's conversion to a vex.
I was thinking that, the vex have never been on earth so it would be very plausible that they used him to gain knowledge of how things work, or something like that
Or maybe we'll find him in the network in expunge
this made me go back and look at Far Future lore tab....there is alot about Hive and The Witch Queen in the possible futures 1-6. I just think it's interesting, I love how these things can be hinted at so well so many months in advance. A few times one can see "a voice behind the darkness". It mentions "hive witches worm", and even "the hive witch flees, they are coming".
I just found out that the person who voices her is the person who plays Secretary Christian in The Expanse.
Shohreh Aghdashloo is a great actress.
All I have to say about this is that this is a REALLY interesting season.
"a crackling portal"
remember the glassway? a portal for another time?
yeah, I'm not liking this at all.
Everything she's done and said in game speaks only of a power hungry politician and I want nothing to do with that
In fact if their is a choice, lets see who is left on her side when everyone else is sind with the eliksni
What is the city without their immortal protectors? Why fight for it is the thank is lahksmi sabotaging all Efforts for peace.
Its a war cult. They dont want peace
Remember it was Osiris's idea to even look for Mithrax in the first place.
Love your content Byf, and I’m loving this seasons story!
New Brakion ?
New Atheon ?
So Asher is alive... sorta.
The "Dark growth" and "spores" have me very interested. Clearly, something is influencing the futures Ixel and Lakskmi-2 are seeing.
Lakshmi reminds me of a certain dictator.....
I’ll leave it to you to think who.
Donald Trump?
Jk Putin?
@@prince_abo1340 he’s not a dictator loooool (trump)
Excellent work Byf... holy crap the story has been superb lately!
TL;DR, Bungie’s definitely not making commentary on current world events
I mean, shit, they tried to make it as black-and-white as possible and people are still trying to take Lakshmi's side ffs.
thank you for bringing this up. sadly, we have a lot of Lakshmi-2s sitting in Germany's parliament. We thought Nazis were gone, but they never left. Scary times

@@Yilmaister bruh wtf? Do you think todays german population are still those from 1940?
Ixels first vision mentions the City, the crackeling portal, a hive witch and fallen in the streets. Lakshmi-2's vision mentiones the same crackling portal, adds treachery (much like Qaitl's advisor and her portal). it seems a bit too similar to be random. Ixel only mentions it once, but the crackeling portal has been mentioned in two seasons in a row now. All the lore tabs concerning Aunor and her hunt for dark guardians adds to where the possible treachery might come from as well.
First? I think her device is being compromised by Quria.
I love this gameplay, knowing that there's a hole that leads up into the area that you're supposed to head into once you reach thee end of that initial obstacle course(The end that I'm talking about is the walls that open and close with the closing triangle door just above it)
Also, I feel like Lakshmi's over reliance is a bit of a hint of what she may have been like prior to becoming an exo, a cold, calculating liar that wants only the power to control everyone under her.
I was an advid FWC member but now, I’m just gonna be a non faction guardian
#LYSANDERGANG
I’m probably going to end up like Navarro and probably will begin a civil war to out Lakshmi
I'm still FWC all the way, baby!!!
You can still be FWC. An anti-Lakshmi member of the FWC.
You know what faction has super cool shaders? Do you have but a moment to discuss The New Monarchy?
I would like to thank you for keeping me up with destiny 2 since I don't have that much time to play anymore
Over my cold, dead body and the shell of my Ghost. She will take my light before she takes the tower.
No need for that, we can just force her off the tower.
Lakhsmi is not immortal. If it comes down to the wire, lets see her fighting my guardian with its ardenal and God shredding light.
Taking our light means the City's best fighter is gone. The Red Legion took the tower, but not us, and look what happened. If the Vex or Lakshmi took us, they would practically have the Tower already.
@@GoogleAccount-jn5qb Maybe, but now we have Stasis. Plus, it’s a metaphor, so it’s not like it’s that important.
To say that the future work war cult and other factions are going to have a major change after what happens this season is an understatement. What will happen will change everything.
Lakshmi is the only character I've disliked this much in a while
Hell same.
Funny thing is I never liked Lakshmi from when she was introduced, something just felt off with her.
The third possible future talking about dark growths and mutated ghosts is very interesting to me especially since we know that Bungie recently hired someone who used to work on the resident evil series. I hope we're going to see more horror elements like presage in destiny eventually.
