      so no one has figured out how to do the 2005. most sights advise against changing the stock unit out because of the loss of controlling the climate control. i have the black screen issue and would rather has newer equipment then to repair the old of which im not sure i could do.

    Just did a recent double din install. Sounds good sitting still but not when I start the engine. Soon as I start engine, I'm having "engine noise" in sound. It did it with a direct attachment to factory harness so I cut ground wire and still have the issue...

    This may have been covered in the portion where the camera was bumped, but when you uninstalled the factory unit there were 4 sets up pins, but with the after-market there were only 2 sets. With the after market are the 3rd and 4th set of pins redundant and just don't need to be utilized?

    • @DCAutoEnhancement
      @DCAutoEnhancement  10 місяців тому +2

      It's been so long ago that I installed this but usually on an aftermarket radio there may be pins used for add-ons like satellite radio and such that don't get used on every installation. Factory radios sometimes have other components that don't work with the aftermarket radios, in this case the rear seat entertainment (DVD player) didn't work after this installation. I hope this answers your question.

    I installed a single din pioneer head unit in my 2006 Acura MDX but the weird thing is the radio works fine sound quality is good but it blew a fuse to my rear driving lights. So I had to put the stock head back in and the fuse hasn’t blown. Also the navigation screen didn’t work with the pioneer. The back up camera came on when in reverse but no touch. Can’t seem to figure it out. Do I need another wiring harness?

    • @DCAutoEnhancement
      @DCAutoEnhancement  4 роки тому +1

      I would just double check the wiring harness. The harness that plugs into the car has an orange maybe orange/white wire on it that is for illumination, I would disconnect that wire if it's hooked up. As for the nav screen not working, make sure you plug in all plugs on the back that you can. If your vehicle has rear seat entertainment then there will only be two plugs that don't get used. Thanks for the view and comment.

    Excuse my naivete, but I am not sure what you mean by installation kit instructions. I have the compatible PAC 4-Channel Line Output Converter, Metra Wiring Harness, and the Metra Dash Kit that are required for my older vehicle. Since I am using after-market parts, are the installation kit instructions available from a 3rd party or are they included with the stereo unit or any of the nec after-market parts? (I don't see a source in your links.)
    Also, I don't see the CD changer make/model in your links below. Would any single disk car CD player that fits below the stereo work using the AUX input?
    Crutchfield doesn't recommend installation of any after-market because of the risk to the car's climate control system. Can you please identify any related poss potential issues that I should make Best Buy aware of before the installation? Also, I understand that the CANBUS resistor bypass needs to be done in order for the factory navigation screen to still work. Is this accurate?

    I have an 06 with bose/Navi. I do not have the rear entertainment or aux in the back. I have a double din sitting around and want to put it in. Also plan on replacing the door speakers. I have 2 questions, one I can’t seem to find the answer to. Question one the wiring harness you call out 70-1725. That calls for an rsx I’m assuming they are compatible?? Question 2, the stock 10 inch free air in the back is blown. Do you know the specs of the sub, amps, and do you have a recommendation for a replacement. Trying to keep the factory location I don’t have room for a sub box with 4 kids in the car. Thank for the response and nice video 👍🏻

    • @DCAutoEnhancement
      @DCAutoEnhancement  4 роки тому

      Thank you for your questions and watching. The wire harness called out is standard on a wide range of Honda models, I imagine it works on an RSX as well. This particular harness is for amplified factory stereos. About changing your speakers: Bose can be tricky. Most aftermarket speakers are 4ohm and most Bose speakers are 2ohm. What this means is if you put aftermarket speakers in the door they will only get half of the power that the rest of the speakers will get. I would recommend OEM Bose replacements. The same goes with the sub. Here is a link to a replacement sub. www.ebay.com/p/1762964382?iid=313123593092&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=313123593092&targetid=915850928613&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9016165&poi=&campaignid=10460085525&mkgroupid=109413763171&rlsatarget=pla-915850928613&abcId=2145999&merchantid=6296724&gclid=CjwKCAjwmMX4BRAAEiwA-zM4JnzzNO31lcggWJfYS-ql9_A1Xmi_Axzrdd_We2Z1GaQ6k_eh1iy-MhoC25kQAvD_BwE

      The rear seat entertainment will be non functional if you do the install the way I did. You could do some research to see if you can retain the "RSE". If you want XM radio, make sure your aftermarket unit has it. Local FM should be standard on the aftermarket unit. I do know that there is an option to retain your steering wheel controls. Rear aux isn't used with this install however, your aftermarket unit might have an aux in that you could run to the back for the rear aux.

Just add a Bluetooth adapter to the Auxiliary input on the back of the factory radio and use the aux button on the radio so you can listen to your phone and everything else rear DVD functions on the steering wheel hands-free link will all still work. Is the factory Bose amplifier still being used with this Pioneer head unit? If so my recommendation for just an auxiliary Bluetooth adapter would be the easiest way

      The 2006 is actually much harder to change the radio if you are keeping that factory touch screen. From what I have seen in this comment section, the heater controls are integrated into to it and you have to do a modification to make the touch screen work. I don't know if that answers your question or not. I believe if you put enough energy and thought into something you can achieve it.

      There is a blue wire with a white stripe that comes frome the new radio and it needs to be hooked up to the blue and blue white stripe wire on the harness that plugs into the car. It is possible that the harness only has a blue wire, if that's the case you hook that wire up to the blue/white wire from the radio. Usually that is the reason for no sound. There could be a blown fuse for the factory amplifier if you have those wires hooked up with no sound. I hope this was helpful.

      The first thing I would do is in plug the RCA's turn on the radio and make sure it's a a low volume and slowly insert the RCA's one at a time. Sometimes, if only the pin part of the rca is in and it sounds normal but you plug in the rest of the way in it sounds terrible, then you have a grounding issue with the RCAs most likely on the head unit side.

      @@DCAutoEnhancement Thanks, I did that but there is no sound when just the pin is plugged in part way and sound (terrible, low sound) when it's all the way in. What else could it be?

      @@DCAutoEnhancement It's this one...www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08K44M1S5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's replacing the factory radio. There is an amp and sub woofer that I'd like to keep. It's a 2003 Acura MDX and I'm using the harness that has the 4 RCA's which connect to the back of the Android unit.
