I installed a pioneer double din into my 03 tahoe and did not need to remove all those plastics. For +12v I used some special fuse that haven a wire running from them allowing you to use the OEM fuse box
The lack of switched power makes me wonder if GM is using a CAN bus connection to the factory radio to turn it off when the RAP timer expires. Is there CAN bus wiring that is being abandoned with this conversion? That could affect the other modules on the network perhaps?
You mention installing a microphone for the bluetooth. Im not seeing that as being included with any of the items on your links. Am i missing something?
I’m struggling I’ve installed this very radio on a Toyota Camry 05 and I can’t get it to work on my 2003 Tahoe. Not sure what I did for it not to work it’s 100% not the fuses or radio as I’ve run tests.
Have you jumped out the factory amp? If not, I don't think the radio will work. I have 2 other videos on bypassing the amp. Surprisingly, the plug for the climate control fits the back of the radio. I suggest confirming that you have the head unit connected to the truck's radio wiring plug. If that is not it, I suggest disconnecting everything and slowly reinstalling it.
Hello I know it's over a year from looking at some of the comments but I am having the exact same thing with an 03 Tahoe Z71 that came with a Bose system someone had it before me they hacked it all up of course, I have power to the radio, Pioneer regular radio not a double din, however no sound. 🤔
Son I usually don't comment on anything I see on UA-cam. I've been doing this for 41 years under no circumstances should you ever use wire nuts! This is the worst hack job I've ever seen my entire life people watching this are going to burn their vehicles to the ground You can buy a bypass or you can buy an interface to use the Bose amp and not the one in the stereo I've done them both ways and both ways work well. I believe you got good intentions with your video but this is not the right way to install even your backup camera is installed wrong!
It looks great, very informative and directional
Thank you for commenting. I am glad you liked the video.
@@OldGuyDIY you're welcome, I'm thinking about doing it to one if I decide to buy it still or not

That sounds like a quicker, easier way to do it. I didn't know that was an option.
DO NOT pinch wires into a fuse you will fry your deck slowly and damage the fuse block & possibly burn your truck to ashes.
The “add a fuse” adaptors are so easy and cheap. Don’t understand why folks don’t use them.
You kind of skipped over it. Bypassing the amp, Three wires which wires?

Where did you get that little flapper door cover under the vent to the right of the radio?
Frll
@@jesuatejeda5723 thats what i want to know
except bypassing the amp is there any other way that you could use the amp for the flip down tv.
Maybe I missed it but did you need a dash kit to install? Does it mount straight up? Will this take pretty much any 6"-7" double din stereo?
Awesome install 👍
Thank you.
so wht u do about the dvd player and the back speakers and amp
You mention installing a microphone for the bluetooth. Im not seeing that as being included with any of the items on your links. Am i missing something?
The microphone was included with the head unit.
Do you have to mess with the Bose amp if you replace the door speakers?
I personnaly used a box bought online specail for Bose amplifier.from AXXESS
Wire nuts???? Come on man!
Kool
Wheres your viIdeo of how you bypassed the amp
Right here. ua-cam.com/video/AzP-aX91l0M/v-deo.html

there is actually already a cable going to the headunit that already bypasses the bose system. sorry you went through all that.
Witch wire is it
where?
It's the 24 pin connectors a little deeper down
I wired the harness together. Plug in. My radio turns on for a couple of seconds then turns off.
Check your ground and radio fuses including the one on the back
Also check your accessory/ignition/12v switched wire because you could be turning it on but the connection to the ignition is no good
It was the 12v switch.
Chopping up all that factory wiring can only devalue the truck with the problems it creates.
If you do it right there are no problems
Does your tweeters work when you bypass it ?
Yes
Just use the other connector behind the ac all u had to do was
