"Captain, there has been a murder in the inn!" "Oh, is there any witness?" "No, captain, but don't you think that guy over there dressed in dark brotherhood robes while holding a dagger that still has blood on it has something to do with it?" "Did anyone see him do it?" "No....." "Then he didn't do it."
George Zhang you can also apply this to the thieves guild Captain the jarls crown has been stolen Any witnesses? No but do you think it could have something to do with that guy in thieves guild armor holding the crown? Did anyone see him do it No.... Than he has nothing to do with it But- HE. HAS. NOTHING. TO. DO. WITH. IT.
The Dark Brotherhood of Skyrim broke literally every tenet 1. Astrid constantly dishonors the Night Mother 2. Astrid betrayed the Brotherhood by making a deal with Maro 3. if you, the player, didn't kill Cicero, you disobeyed an order from a Dark Brotherhood superior 4. If I recall, you essentially *steal* Cicero's journal from his room 5. Cicero tries to kill Astrid, Astrid tells you to kill Cicero, you kill Cicero*, Astrid tries to have you killed, you kill Astrid
while i was in prison for killing citizen, I swear the same woman guard that told me that, teleport into my prison cell and open the cell door just to get out, just as if she wanted to help me escape.
A correction: Calling Sithis an evil deity is a fairly major misstep. Sithis is merely the first Aspect of Padomay, the original embodiment of change. Sithis represents the void: The space between that which exists, and he gave birth to Lorkhan, who in turn is responsible for the creation of Mundus and Nirn. In short, no Sithis, no mortal plane of existence. It even stands to reason that the Dark Brotherhood actually worship a being that precipitates mortal existence itself, certainly a being that precipitates the existence of any Daedra. Whether or not their faith is a perversion in worship stands to be debated, but it has certainly been rewarded on various occasions regardless.
...And today we're going to learn about Dovahkiin, open your books on page 65. Dovahkiin was a hero who saved Nirn from being destroyed... Also, he's an assasin (Leader), a thief (Leader), he slaughtered 468 bunny's, killed the Emperor, fought in the Civil War, was the arch-mage, is a werewolf and the leader of the Companions...
I swear I'm not a trap. "Today we're gonna learn about Dovahkin. Open your book." That sentence was over before the list. And they only need one book. Ain't any other subjects left since Dovahkin murdered everything else.
Ingagi They always play it off perfectly. The dark brotherhood is easy: no-one really knows but them what happened so its easy to not break the lore. Companions: random hero Arch mage: random mage Thieves guild: random thief
Night mother is Mephala. The connections are obvious. The night mother is said to have been a dark elf, dark elves worship Mephala, Mephala was patron deity of the Morag tong, brotherhood splintered from the Tong, Mephala is the weaver of lies and death and said to be first born of Sithis. Coincidence I think not! The corpse is nothing more than another conduit for Mephala to toy with mortals in her own dark and mysterious way.
I got the note saying "we know" right? And you're suppose to sleep in order to join. Well since I never sleep in skyrim, it took a while before i actually joined lol
2Doges1Bon g first time it took about 3 months ingame lol by which time i had obviously forgotten and I was like....um did it just crash? Oh ok I've been date-raped. Guess I'll have to murder everyone in that tavern just to be sure.
Noktis Ackerman same!! 😂 I got the note but I never slept too. It wasnt untill I joined the thieves guild and thought why not. Then I woke up and was like "oh shit". Still makes me wonder how they got into the cistern
Noktis Ackerman true, did not think about that. Even if it was guild members only, Sapphire was in the brotherhood too (or so I heard) and they could carry you out for them.
Jo Tuyor Technically he's in the pale since the guard is a pale guard (depending on the civil war) but that's besides the point lol. He's on the road there as in his final journal it starts out saying he took a boat not the road to travel to skyrim, and to the Dawnstar sanctuary first. :3 en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Cicero%27s_Journal_-_Final_Volume
Jo Tuyor you can come up from riften as well, not to mention the mountain pass north of Markarth and the ocean pass to solitude. Skyrim has 4 points of Ingress at the NW, SW, SE and NE.
*Fact Number 6* If you use the Ebony Blade to kill the Dark Brotherhood Members during the quest Destroy the Dark Brotherhood, it will count toward the charging of the Ebony Blade. This could be a sign that the whole "Night Mother was Mephala" theory isn't true since it appears Mephala hates the Dark Brotherhood enough that she is willing to give you the full power of the blade WITHOUT slaughtering your friends if you kill the dark brotherhood with the blade.
King Mitternacht Or since you're able to enter the sanctuary their demeanour is automatically set to friendly due to the assumption that only members can pass the door.
Nagato Sama You've got your rules and your religion, all designed to keep you safe, but when rules start getting broken you start questioning your faith.

Okay, random question time: Which version of the darkbrotherhood did you like better? The Falkreath based one, or the one in Cheydinhal? I'm more of a fan of Cheydinhal merely because I got reeeeeeeeeally attached to the people there.
Caleb Kopp Cheydinhal. It was cool, the quests we're good, tenets were followed. The people were awesome. ;-; Why Lucien... Why did you make me murder them all?
Because there was a traitor, and the others had to die in order to find the true one, even if it was for nothing in the end. But if it helps: Lucien and everyone are in a much better place, at least as far as they are concerned.
Someone at Bethesda Studios had a REALLY fucked up childhood to come up with the "Night Mother killed her 5 children" background. Do the Shadow Scales lore next!
Fun fact: Astrid through the course of the questline actually breaks all the tenents. This is out of order but based upon severaty. 1. Do not steal from dark brothers or sisters Astrid tells you to search cicero's room for something to pinpoint his where abouts, and his journal is taken, without his permision. Thus theft doen. 2. Never refuse the order of a superior. When you tell Astrid you heard the nightmother and cicero comfirms it, she still does not let you do as commanded by the 2nd highest part of the brotherhood, 1st being sithis himself. 3. Do not disrespect the nightmother or sithis. Astrid's disregard for the nightmother's authority and disregard of the old ways is sign enough. 4. Never kill a fellow dark brother or sister. Astrid sending you to kill cicero whether you follow through or not is in violation as only 3(?) exceptions to this happened ever, one of which you do in oblivion, but under the nightmother's command. Astrid had no higher authority to make this ok. 5. Do not reveal the secrets of the dark brotherhood. Astrid to save her members arranged for you to be killed and would have thought you'd done away with cicero, so she could be a self proclaimed leader unquestioned. This of course led to the near wipe of the organization's existance. While you did many of these, it was under her command and even as rule breakers to rufuse would be to quetion a superior, which is also a crime, so you could be considered innocent, but killing cicero is the kaviot I'd say even defying would be ok.
I always like how convoluted the truth is in elder scrolls lore. The first night mother was in the lucky lady statue, but many others also seem to have the name, so it seems unknown when the listener really shows up in the timeline. I mean you kill her for the morag tong in Morrowind....
Astrid broke every single tennet: 1. Never dishonor the nightmother 2. Never betray the dark brotherhood or it's secrets 3. Never disobey an order of a superior (at first when told to speak to amound motierre in volunruud she denies it, and tells you to do contracts for nazir instead) 4. Never steal from another dark brotherhood member (she may not have stolen a possession but she stole a kill, which was the emperor, from you. Yes this counts because in the beginning when she contacts you she says, referring to killing grelod: "that was a dark brotherhood kill, a kill you stole, a kill you must repay." ) 5. She killed all of the dark brotherhood members besides you, nazir, and babette when she told commander maro about the plot to kill the emperor, she even admits to this when you speak to her after you save nazir and babette. My point? Sithis is DEFINITELY not happy. I can only imagine what he's doing to her in the void. Like the nightmother said: "May she find redemption in the void.". The most interesting thing however is why did she do this? Well quite simply put: she's a control freak/narcissist. Everything she does in the brotherhood is to gain control or to remain in control. Astrid is a character I love to hate. I think she may be this way because of what her uncle did to her. If you ask more about her she will tell you that she killed her uncle when he molested her. People often after getting unwanted advances on them want to be in control when they grow up. It's quite brilliant what the developers did here and yet nobody seemed to notice. Sad too, quite a good job.
So you cant kill a brother or sister of the Dark Brotherhood...and you also cannot refuse a job. So does that make Astrid's contract a paradox? If you kill her you invoke the wrath of Sithis, but if you dont you are disobeying a contract from the Night Mother and would invoke the wrath of Sithis.
came- 'cause it seemed intresting watched- for it was good content Sunbscibed- as I want to se more like this Liked- FOR THE DREADFATHER IS ALWAYS LISTENING HAIL SITHIS
I didn't kill Cicero during the DB questline simply because of the tenets. Cicero is still a member and he didn't kill anyone but only wounded. He was also the only member to actually follow the tenets instead of Astrid.
Canonically the Dark Brotherhood survives, in Oblivion you can kill Lucien to never join the Dark Brotherhood, and according to Lucien's dialogue in Skyrim the events that take place are the ones if one played the main questline, also what sicks me is when people say "The Last Dragonborn is the Listener." A developer once said that the Guild storylines are separate characters from the main character, which means that the Last Dragonborn, the Listener, the Archmage, and the Guildmaster are all different people, in the lore obviously
I played a small bit of daggerfall, beat morrowind and oblivion, tried for 2hrs 2011 skyrim, I play fallout 4 here and there, Now Finally gonna do skyrim special edition on my ps4 and make a ninja mage, dark brotherhood and mage, thief guild! I know games old but I do have growing up memories of, daggerfall/morrowind/oblivion/fallout4 so I hope this will really be great despite the flaws and age!
What's the state if the dark brotherhood during skyrim in all of Tamil? How are the holds in other provinces doing? Are they disorganized? Maybe they are absent? Cyrodil still has a dark brotherhood base there and skyrim has 1 and the others?
Just the logistics of the black sacrament are crazy, what are you supposed to do, stroll down to the hall of the dead and borrow a full skeleton, heart and some chunks of flesh, no questions asked? And what about the book itself? I imagine anyone buying it is immediately put on a guard watchlist.
KatsOnFire You know how easy it is to get money in skyrim? Just sell stuff you get from dungeons and you're set. Lastly frost is better than shadowmere
NoNameJustGame frost lasted me about 12 seconds after I shook down letrush because a dragon attacked mid dialogue. Shadowmere is literally immortal. So ding dong you are wrong.
killmenowpls :o I'd say that the members and the story of the actual guild was interesting but nearly all the quests were just "go stab some random guy for no reason" and how when Astrid betrayed it happened so boringly
This is a little late but can you make a skyrim build kinda like a Jedi who uses magic like a guide The main concept could be he was injured blind so he look to the gods. Some god gives him power to see through magic. He uses magic for armor, and to stop enemies by using pacify he's kinda a pacifist but will kill if he has to. I guess he could be a evil guy if the god who gave him this power is evil. Make him look like a monk a give him the two blind eyes. Please reply if you guys read this.
I don't know about anyone else and I'm not sure if it's even possible but does Shadowmere have a backstory? I would love it if you guys covered him in one of your upcoming lore videos🔥
Funny enough even if you dont join the dark brotherhood in skyrim and opt to kill them all you're still performing a ritual cleansing. So still no matter what you do the will of Sithis is completed.
i always wondered... if they abandoned the tenants, where was the wrath of sithis? and how exactly does one abandon rules like that? don't kill other members, is this something they just do from time to time now? same with stealing from each other, and betraying each other or their secrets. do they often disobey astrid before the player arrives? have the tenants really been abandoned, or does astrid just break them? how did astrid even survive long enough to be the matron of a sanctuary, when she clearly has issues with not being in charge? i mean, she doesn't just object to the rookie being the listener, she has a problem with the night mother herself.
So if TES VI takes place after this DB will there even be a dark brotherhood? Or maybe the Morag Tong will return claiming primacy as the true assassin's guild...or something else...
You know, have we ever got a questline where WE, the player character, end up on the Dark Brotherhoods list? Like for recruitment, seems like ALL the time but otherwise I don't think so.
in Skyrim, prior to joining the guild you can get intermittently attacked by dark brotherhood assassins who have a note saying that 'someone wants that poor fool [the LDB] dead' on their corpse. Of course this isn't actually a quest, but it's a cool addition
"Captain, there has been a murder in the inn!"
"Oh, is there any witness?"
"No, captain, but don't you think that guy over there dressed in dark brotherhood robes while holding a dagger that still has blood on it has something to do with it?"
"Did anyone see him do it?"
"No....."
"Then he didn't do it."
ah good old skyrim logic
George Zhang you can also apply this to the thieves guild
Captain the jarls crown has been stolen
Any witnesses?
No but do you think it could have something to do with that guy in thieves guild armor holding the crown?
Did anyone see him do it
No....
Than he has nothing to do with it
But-
HE. HAS. NOTHING. TO. DO. WITH. IT.
if npc's see you holding(equiping) a stolen item, you get caught
George Zhang Yes that the point, on one see, heard or know nothing.

I love the Dark Brotherhood. All of my characters join them. Right now im playing a werewolf assassin. Its pretty fun.
The only reason I join the dark brotherhood, is to hear Lucien La Chance's amazing voice and dialogue...

how the fuck did Cicero end up in Whiterun when the only path to Skyrim from Cyrodiil is in Falkreath.

So I'm watching the "ELDER SCROLLS BINGE-LIST" playlist ... turns out that this video is number 6/66
Illuminati confirmed! Aliens! The devil made me do it! Leprechauns! The tooth fairy! Frodo lives! Santa is that you?
I wonder what the brotherhood will do in elder scrolls 6?
I hope they have the morag tong and DB and you choose what kind of assassin you are
For that happen the next elder scrolls need to be in Argonia (where both the Morag Tong in the North and the DB exist)
it depends on the location of the next elder scrolls
We broke the five tenets in Skyrim, didn't we.
Kieranite FM112 Astrid did.
Heck yeah! The Dark Brotherhood rules!
🔪☠
And the shadow scales?
Okay, random question time: Which version of the darkbrotherhood did you like better? The Falkreath based one, or the one in Cheydinhal? I'm more of a fan of Cheydinhal merely because I got reeeeeeeeeally attached to the people there.
I think chorrol because the quest were better and I got attach to the people and the armors were good
I like the Chorrol one because it doesn't exist.
Cheydinhal DB is better, and there was Lucien
Caleb Kopp
Cheydinhal. It was cool, the quests we're good, tenets were followed. The people were awesome.

Never wear your sombrero in a goofy fashion, to do so is the invoke the wrath of sithis.
Oblivion DB questline much better than Skyrim's IMO
Oblivion was a better game all together, skyrim just has better graphics and mods
I agree.. the atmosphere and quests were much better in oblivion than skyrim
Poison Oak yeah true
Whodunit? was my personal favorite quest in any Elder Scrolls game
Someone at Bethesda Studios had a REALLY fucked up childhood to come up with the "Night Mother killed her 5 children" background. Do the Shadow Scales lore next!

KingChiggy Except, she broke the rules first. She tried to kill you. She must be punished.
Exactly, and Cicero broke the tenet too so he can get killed too.
Christian Cristof uh no he acted to defend the traditions of the night mother and the tenets, of which Astrid had already broken 4 at that point.
KingChiggy hmm...what if you begin cannibalising that fresh barbecue and through no fault of intent other than hunger she inadvertently dies?
Astrid had already broken the tenants and the night mother guided you to kill her.
Have you done 5 facts on the companions and the Blades?
they should have made this an unforgiving game and allowed us the option to kill cicero and forfeit anything to do with the dark brotherhood.
You guys should play Dungeons and Dragons with Camel on camera as a series. That would be fantastic.

I know games old but I do have growing up memories of, daggerfall/morrowind/oblivion/fallout4 so I hope this will really be great despite the flaws and age!
"He is no Daedra, and dwells not in the realm of Oblivion. No, Sithis is something all together... Different."
This is my favorite Guild in the entire Elder Scrolls series. My favorite characters being: Cicero, Lucien Lachance, and of course me.
What's the state if the dark brotherhood during skyrim in all of Tamil?
How are the holds in other provinces doing? Are they disorganized? Maybe they are absent? Cyrodil still has a dark brotherhood base there and skyrim has 1 and the others?
"Die Grelod! Die!"
hi fudgemuppet can you do another Fallout4 story the story are really good and cool and I love them
I'm just mad I couldn't rock the dope ass Blackhand Robes in vanilla Skyrim. Bar far my favorite set of clothing/armor in any rpg.
So I never even knew you could meet Cicero before he came to the sanctuary.
I like the DB Over the morang tong, except the cult part.If you destroy it skyrim, that is a bad move, you are giving up shadowmere and 20k
KatsOnFire You know how easy it is to get money in skyrim? Just sell stuff you get from dungeons and you're set. Lastly frost is better than shadowmere
IMO, Arvak from the Dawnguard DLC is the best horse in every category
KatsOnFire and decent armor ancient assassins armor
NoNameJustGame frost lasted me about 12 seconds after I shook down letrush because a dragon attacked mid dialogue. Shadowmere is literally immortal.
So ding dong you are wrong.
are the mods for your redguard telvanni available for xbox one?
Astrid broke all 5 tenets. So Sithis gave us fresh barbecue.
The Dark Brotherhood:
The best "guild" in any game I've ever played.
The Skyrim Dark Brotherhood was complete shit. Some of the quests were decent but the actual faction was garbage.
Squid W Skyrim sidequests generally sucked. Try the Oblivion Dark Brotherhood questline - it's one of the best writing of any game.
Yep, just about to say. Oblivion's DB was amazing.
I need to side with Volkihar.
Peter Joseph i thought the members of the DB were much more interesting in Skyrim
killmenowpls :o I'd say that the members and the story of the actual guild was interesting but nearly all the quests were just "go stab some random guy for no reason" and how when Astrid betrayed it happened so boringly
This is a little late but can you make a skyrim build kinda like a Jedi who uses magic like a guide
The main concept could be he was injured blind so he look to the gods.
Astrid literally broke every single one of the 5 tenants.
I don't know about anyone else and I'm not sure if it's even possible but does Shadowmere have a backstory? I would love it if you guys covered him in one of your upcoming lore videos🔥
So if you do the destroy the Dark Brotherhood quest, you are basically destroying the last of the Dark Brotherhood in Tamriel.
Get's the We Know message
Never sleeps again...
can't get me if I never sleep! Waits in a market street for 2 weeks frozen in place
love the thumbnail
I only joined the Dark Brotherhood because of Shadowmere. Damn you don't even know the extent of my desire for that horse.
where is this place located? i mean on the first minutes on the video
Kevin Guevarra I think oblivion; the forth eso game
i see .. im sorry ..i wasn't able to play oblivion
Kevin Guevarra don't apologize I have never played it either I just saw it on other videos but I did complete morrowind
"Mother sweet mother send your child unto me, for the sins of the unworthy must be baptised in blood and on fear"
I was wondering, how do you decide how much to pay the brotherhood? They can't refuse a contract but they might get made if you don't pay enough.
One of the Night Mother's children was supposedly quite powerful. If it survived, it may have become the 10th Divine.
btw isnt the dark hand mark the same as the one from dark souls black hand organisation
I knew it was Drew right off the bat
Funny enough even if you dont join the dark brotherhood in skyrim and opt to kill them all you're still performing a ritual cleansing. So still no matter what you do the will of Sithis is completed.
Literally gave this a like purely to please the Dread Father.
i always wondered...
if they abandoned the tenants, where was the wrath of sithis? and how exactly does one abandon rules like that?
don't kill other members, is this something they just do from time to time now? same with stealing from each other, and betraying each other or their secrets. do they often disobey astrid before the player arrives? have the tenants really been abandoned, or does astrid just break them?
how did astrid even survive long enough to be the matron of a sanctuary, when she clearly has issues with not being in charge? i mean, she doesn't just object to the rookie being the listener, she has a problem with the night mother herself.
Well I guess I have invoked the wrath of sithis
Where does the black hand come in play?
The emperor was right. Assassination isn't just an action, it's an Idea, and as long as there are people there will be a "need" for assassins.
"I was once an assassin like you, then i took an arrow in the knee"
It isn't a fact that they survived in skyrim. There is a choice where you can kill Astrid at the start and hunt down the others
don't play outside to do so is to evoked the wrath of Sithis
So if TES VI takes place after this DB will there even be a dark brotherhood? Or maybe the Morag Tong will return claiming primacy as the true assassin's guild...or something else...
sithis and the void always find a way and "you cant stop the darkbrotherhood, you could never stop them anyway"
wheres the OG fudge muppet crew ?
After finding Cicero's wagon? That event actually has NOTHING to do with the Dark Brotherhood questline.
holy damn, I'm early.
gimme gud stuff FM.
Does killing Astrid count agents number five
You know, have we ever got a questline where WE, the player character, end up on the Dark Brotherhoods list? Like for recruitment, seems like ALL the time but otherwise I don't think so.
in Skyrim, prior to joining the guild you can get intermittently attacked by dark brotherhood assassins who have a note saying that 'someone wants that poor fool [the LDB] dead' on their corpse. Of course this isn't actually a quest, but it's a cool addition
John Shannon eh, doesn't feel the same though to be honest.
true true. you'd think they'd try more subtle methods than brazenly attacking you in the streets
oh shit
4 mins?
that is the earliest im ever gonna get
Have you guys ever played bloodborne? It's very snazzy
Why don't you have a million subs already???
to invoke the wrath of sithis is to invoke the wrath of sithis
