I love Cicero's reaction when he finally hears the words he was waiting for, shifting from outright fury at where he found you into blissful joy and relief, he has found a Listener, all his efforts, all those who sacrifised themself were not in vain.
1. the morag tong operate on the side of justice, rather than profit. 2. irelith in whiterun is ex-morag tong. 3. the brotherhood used to live by the five tenets, and astrid systematically broke every single one of them. 4. if you have the spirit of lucian lechance as a follower, and you have access to shadowmere, lucian will greet him as 'an old friend' 5. when you wake up in the abandoned shack, you can choose to kill astrid right there, and help the imperial commander in solitude wipe out the brotherhood entirely.
Man I played so many titles over the years, spent a boatload of money. But I cannot ever let go of my love for the Elder Scrolls Series, Skyrim especially. Titles come and titles go, but Skyrim remains in a league of its own. Forever a shining, sometimes flawed, jewel among the rest. It's more than just a game now for me. It's like an old, loving friend you visit from time to time and reminiscent the glorious times spent together 🥲
"A normal adventurer, who had NOT taken an arrow to the knee..." Awesome line! XD Had me laughing so hard. Even though I generally play a pacifist in most games the Dark Brotherhood is, for some reason, one of my favorite factions in any game. I've always joined them and done the quest lines in Oblivion and Skyrim both. Loved this lore vid so much. Well played!
I had a personal theory about the brotherhood and its goals. Sithis and the Night Mother want souls for the void. To that end they have people conduct the black sacrament to have people pray to the Night Mother, but we also know that when people pray to deadra and aedra it gives them more power, and can even kinda "link" your soul to your patron deity. My theory is that when people pray to Sithis and the Night Mother to have someone else killed they are also dooming their own soul to go to the void upon death. That's why the brotherhood doesn't kill the people who perform the Black Sacrament.
I too would enjoy being a dark brother and serving the great Sithis. My dragoonborn always joins and is a terrible stealth assassin. I'm more the lumbering bearded giant with a giant axe type of assassin
Thanks for doing these @WiseFish, gives me a little piece of home while I'm at work and it does make a difference. Just wanted to let you know your work makes someone's day.
Astrid is the most stupidest leader to ever exist, like why would you tell the imperial’s about the assassination attempt towards the emperor and believe they would honor their word on not going after them. She should know that the imperials wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to get rid of the dark brotherhood once and for all.🐱
If you play the Skyrim Dark brotherhood quest in detail you will realize that Cicero and Lucien Lachance both knew Astrid was unworthy to the Brotherhood. First Cicero follower her orders as Matron of the Sanctuary but when you are appointed Listener Astrid is no longer leader. Cicero only takes orders from you and when Astrid tried to work you out, Cicero knew she was not a trustworthy member and tried to kill her (I suspect Cicero must have known she planned to kill you or betray you). When you are send to kill Cicero and you summon Lucien, he will outright state that he will only kill Cicero on your orders. If you desire Cicero dead, he will do it but he advises that Sithis doesn't want Cicero dead. Then he asks you the question do you trust the wisdom and words of Astrid. Lucien was already dropping the hint that Astrid is letting the Brotherhood sink and I think Lucien knew Astrid is gonna betray you. Lucien also drops hints like "as long as there is a Listener, the Black Hand will live". Kinda like giving the hint, Astrid is disposable but you are not. Shows to us that when you become Listener, Astrid longevity in the Brotherhood is depended on you and Lucien technically tells you, you are in control not Astrid.
Anyone here that has played Skyrim but not oblivion need to stop watching this and go play oblivion. The quest stories are so much deeper and keep you coming back again and again as Skyrim doesn’t even come close to the story telling that oblivion does so well
What would be the best way to turn my lv. 24 sorcerer into a sorcerer craft build that also uses bow?. Kinda where I want it to go? He's also like a assassin thieft?
level illusion to i think 60, get the perk "quiet casting". level conjuration, get yourself a bound bow. level alteration for protective spells like stoneflesh etc. illusion for invisibility and muffle spells. conjuration for bound bow and summons to keep aggro from enemies away, i used a few other spells and abilities for my character but thats a start for a mid level spellbow character.
I made a new character just to play this questline out of curiosity, and I'll admit it's... eventful. A little too much. Like how are they going to follow up in the next game? The fate of the DB? The emperor and empire? Very different outcomes depending on your choices. It's bizarre to think that the same character that risked their life to save the world also murdered innocent people even while they begged. Or that a character that sided with the imperials assassinated the emperor. This is all achievable on one playthrough and I doubt they intended for people to create entirely different characters for every single faction or even just one. I felt horrible when the gourmet said I was scaring him. And the other members constantly laughing about severed heads and shit like that. You miss out on cool gear if you don't do it though like the jester and emperor outfits. By the end I didn't feel a sense of accomplishment or awe, I felt like I had successfully left an empire in shambles but you're not really there to witness the chaotic aftermath or suffer any consequences, so... what was the point?
Hope you guys enjoyed this Elder Scrolls lore! Let me know if you’d want to see more!
Yes, please!
Everyone should have a friend like Cicero. Takes good care of his mother and definitely doesn’t have a thing for dead people.
It's just one dead lady he loves. Hes really devoted to her corpse, admirable fellow he is.
I completed the dark brotherhood Quest line for the first time today. As soon as I got the opportunity to kill Cicero, I did.

I know a guy just like him.

Absolutely loving these Elder Scrolls videos. The Dark Brotherhood is a personal favourite of mine.
1. the morag tong operate on the side of justice, rather than profit.
2. irelith in whiterun is ex-morag tong.
3. the brotherhood used to live by the five tenets, and astrid systematically broke every single one of them.
4. if you have the spirit of lucian lechance as a follower, and you have access to shadowmere, lucian will greet him as 'an old friend'
5. when you wake up in the abandoned shack, you can choose to kill astrid right there, and help the imperial commander in solitude wipe out the brotherhood entirely.
6. Lucian will have special dialogue if you have him already summoned while deciding to kill or spare Cicero
The Dark Brotherhood isn't motivated by profit either. They literally torture people which isn't part of any contract nor helps send souls to Sithis.
@@MellowDarkflower he's the reason I spared Cicero my first playthrough
Love the divergence into Elder Scrolls. I'm excited to continue watching everything you put out!

Love these Elder Scrolls videos, WiseFish! Would love to see a video on the Imperial Legion!
Did you just make an arrow in the knee joke in the year of our lord 2023?
Indeed I did!

Same dude lol no stealth for me
@WiseFish I'm too impatient plus I like wacking things
Wise Fish is the closest thing to a father I've ever had
I love you my child!
Thanks for doing these @WiseFish, gives me a little piece of home while I'm at work and it does make a difference. Just wanted to let you know
your work makes someone's day.
I'd love to see them cover "Dishonoured" lore
I love Cicero so much! I always wished you could marry him. Total husband material. Funny, loyal, can kick ass and slightly pervy 💜
He'd make a great father 😊
I need a DB tattoo yesterday
All I want to know is when will the other parts of Potema story be released?
Babe, wake up! WiseFish uploaded!

Especially after you murdered his son as well
She was probably taking a lot of skooma at the time and didn't realize it was a bad idea.
also has a lot to do with poopy writing. hope they improve in that dept. in TES6. doubt

Not the dragonborn per se. Because you can destroy it. But without cicero and the night mother dying, as well as the vampire child.

Seems as though The Last Dragonborn has set themselves up to take The Throne.
LOVE THIS

I suppose it's only appropriate when one paves a path of lies, blood, deceit, their stories hold mistrust forged in treachery and death.
