The Talking Heads were students at the Rhode Island school of design. I was fortunate enough to see them live when I lived in Boston. You should hear their first hit song named Psycho Killer 😎
David byrne said this song was about a girl he knew who would take acid & go lie in a feild by her house that was by the yoo-hoo drink factory in virginia (if i remember the location correctly, maybe it was maryland, it was on the east coast)....but, yeah, theyre one of the most artsy bands ever, art rock pioneers, right under david bowie’s late 70’s stuff...the band television was another innovator...& all the art rock stuff led to the 80’s new wave stuff...i f’n love talking heads
They have so many great songs. So much talent! Tina Weymouth is one of the best bass players. Anything from the concert movie Stop Making Sense is absolute 🔥🔥🔥! Great reaction, as always! ☮️❤️😎
Loved your reaction! This is one of my favorite songs (and it is about LSD). The talking heads are one of my favorite bands with so many great songs. I hope you listen to some more of their music.
Omg it's 4:30 am, and you have got me rolling 🤣 I been watching you, and loving your reactions, you are very open to the music and playing a really big variety of music...♡
You have to check them out live from Stop Making Sense. You could pick any song, but Girlfriend is one of my favorites. The entire performance is fire. This band is very different.
Loving your reactions because you get so into the song that you’ll go back and play parts of it again to continue jamming! The sign of a true music lover. I don’t see others on UA-cam doing that. Plus you have me laughing. 🤣 Try “Wild Wild Life” by this band too.
Your instincts are amazing. Within seconds, you have a better grasp of a song than me, who's been listening for decades. This song came out sometime in the 80s and I never paid attention to the lyrics. Face-eating saltbath takers from Florida 🤣🤣🤣 You're amazing, Sceez ✌🏼❤
This was from one of their much later albums but they have a very rich catalog going back. David Byrne writes essentially poetry so you can't really overanalyze the lyrics. But they are such a fun band, they are literally one of my favorite bands ever. You can't go wrong with any Talking Heads, even the really old stuff. Check out the live version of Life During WartSime from their Stop Making sense concert movie to get a look at what they were like onstage at least a bit later on in their career plus it's a fantastic song. You will be blown away. Studio version is good as well. One of the earliest songs and I believe their very first hit is Psycho Killer. I bet you would get a kick out of it. It's so catchy. But then again all of their stuff is.
Please more Talking Heads!!! They have true BANGERS, such as "SLIPPERY PEOPLE" (Hard bass on that one), "ONCE IN A LIFETIME", "THIS MUST BE THE PLACE", "GIRLFRIEND IS BETER"
Thanks for introducing me to this music. I've never listened to The Talking Heads before and I really liked this song. Your reaction was perceptive and amusing.
I think there are two interpretations of this song; the obvious one is that she was tripping balls, the less obvious one is that she died/committed suicide. I think its about death. She WAS, she is no more. The tone shift in the bridge (3:20) seems to be another clue.

“Burning Down the House”…”Take Me to the River”…”Once in a Lifetime” all great songs by them (plus more😂)!
They have so many great songs! Take Me to the River, Burning Down the House, Psycho Killer & more...
They do have so many great songs. Psycho Killer, Take Me to the River, The Great Curve, Burning down the House....just to start.
The song is about a gal taking acid. I saw David Byrne at Austin City Limits and he explained it

Don’t know how you don’t have more subs…been here since less than 1K. Keep grinding 💪🏽

The guy singing is David Byrne.
