They're competing phones, if you choose one you're very unlikely to also buy the other. People want their purchases to feel justified so they make their one reasons for why one is superior to the other.

I think the pixel colours seem more natural and plus on portrait shots I prefer a closer subject shot. The iPhone is good but photos wise the Pixel wins for me.
About the colors... How important is it? Over saturated images are better? I feel pixel has a better Quality and it tries to take realistic pictures, while iphone takes Instagram pics
certainly neither is perfect, but I felt the same as you about the iPhone cranking up the vividness of the pics, then again many cameras of today sacrifice reality for more pleasing too the eye images.
I much prefer reality myself.

As a photographer, I think Judd is wrong.... Alot my friend and clients prefer the contrasty pixel pictures in portrait mode.
I love the contrasty look plus the colors on the pixel. iPhone photos are nice but tend to look flat.

I prefer the look of the pixel photos in all of the comparisons except for the pumpkins.
And it only appeared odd because the lens flare washed it out, bad angle.
2:10 completely false! the pixel uses natural colours and so it looks less blue. They are fairly equal with dynamic range. The iPhone handles the sky better and the pixel handles the sunlight hitting his face better.

Pixel portraits got some incredible details damn🔥 Google are doing some magic for real. The iPhone has some saturated pictures. I guess even Apple likes them vibrant
I noticed it my 11 Pro camera but it’s nowhere near overkill and still makes a realistic photo!! iPhone camera FTW!
I just picked up a pixel 5 had a 11 pro, Pixel 5 takes way better photos than iphone 11 pro. Everything just looks soft, warm and oversaturated I was never inspired to take photos that much with my iphone. When it comes to taking portraits of people that's where the pixel kills it and just btfo the iphone.

@@goose4342 thanks for your opinion. I haven’t owned or even tried out one but was debating on trying out the 5. I don’t see Pixel photos or videos that pleasing based off what I see in these YT videos. Portraits look nice but they do also on my 11 Pro. Pixel photos looked too washed out. iPhone photos are on point with what you see is what you get!!! Red, pinks are vibrant but I like it since it’s not overkill like Samsung photos which they have toned down some.

Not sure I like it.reminds me of Samsung cameras which are generally more bright and slightly over saturated to what is natural... that's why I prefer pixel photos.
Yeah, I realized after owning 12. coming from previous iphone, and i do feel that picture coming from 12 noticeably brighter, which is i dont like it.

Excellent comparison video, loved the way you did it with zooming in and detail analysis. Many others just don't bother and you have to squint 😂 I was going to buy the iPhone 12 Pro but the more videos I watch the more I'm happier staying with my Pixel 4XL 😉👌

The sun flower picture the the background was better exposed with more detail on the Pixel

The exposure looks pretty much the same, but the Pixel had a bit more contrast. I agree about there being a bit more detail in the Pixel's shot.
Still think it's amazing the pixel is doing this with the same sensor that was in the pixel 2
Some thoughts:
1. The shot of the halloween spider is more "washed" looking on the Pixel 5 because of the angle at which you took the photo. The sun is more direct in the shot as compared to the equivalent iphone photo. In the iphone photo, the sun is actually behind a twig. You can see this by the flaring in the Pixel shot. In the Pixel shot, the sun shining into the sensor causes the algos to adjust for the brightness, lifting shadows to compensate so dark parts of the photo are exposed correctly.
2. Your son is adorable
3. For the ultrawide shot of the river, it seems like skies are still exhibiting dark patches in top middle of the iphone shot.

Once again, a photo comparison without a reference camera image. To know which phone is doing better, it would far more interesting to see what a professional camera does with the same scene to compare with these two phones. Otherwise we are relying on your recall and preference with each in how you describe them.

Most professional cameras would not produce acceptable images at automatic settings they would click a well detailed but almost bland colour photo which you would have to edit your self which dismisses the argument because if you have to edit the photo of the pro camera to make it likable then you can make it better than any other automatic photo capturing device
@@kshitij_chhokar the point is not whether you like the photo from the reference camera but how it will capture a better quality reference of the scene with more natural colours and less processing. And yes, in auto settings they can do this, but if it's being used as a reference image then the shot can be taken with the purpose of delivering this.

You can control the blur in the iPhone portraits as well. The f-stops can be altered in post to control the amount of blur.

I like both of them! But on the portraits, I think the Pixel crops in to give you the 50mm like photo, I'm a Photographer and I take a lot of portraits, so I find the crop in the Pixel normal 😅 But overall, I might go with the iPhone just because of the colors!

When you consider the price difference I would honestly choose the Google Pixel 5 as it’s a lot cheaper, the camera is still very good (and in some scenarios better) and I personally prefer android
iPhone has scene detection enabled as default which will change the look of the photos, was this on or off when you did comparison?

You can't really compare the details for things that aren't the focus of the image though. The iPhone has a slightly larger aperture, so of course things in the background are going to be less detailed and more blurred. You can compare the details on the sunflower, which was what the cameras were focused on, as well as the exposure, contrast, etc. of the rest of the image.
The iPhone honestly does make a better job overall than the pixel.I’m gonna be completely honest.

So...the pixel gives the best image . Look at something with your eyes then check the photo. The pixal will look like what you actually see and that's what a photo should be.

When you go back to the 🌻 when you zoomed into the clouds you can definitely see the 🌲leaves are detailed more on pixel.

I don't think the best comparison these days is between phones. They are both pretty good. What I would want to know is which one is closest to what your eyes can see. Which one brought out the image in the most natural way possible despite the machine learning algorithms or sensor sizes, I wanna know what will show exactly or almost exactly what I see.
