Currently switching from an over 6 years old 6 with 16 gb to a 12 mini with 128 gb and I am just ready for a much better phone and not having to worry about storage anymore.
Great review! I’ve been using smaller iPhones throughout the years. I first had the iPhone 5s and then I upgraded to the iPhone SE (2016 model) in 2017. In any case, I held off on purchasing a new iPhone for three years because one hand typing and portability were exceedingly important to me in a smart phone. It’s so nice to be able to hold a cup of Starbucks coffee in one hand, while typing a message with the other hand. Convenience like that is pretty much lost on larger, phablet sized phones. That said, I recently upgraded to the 12 mini (product red, to support COVID relief efforts) and I’m pretty happy with it. I can reach all parts of the screen with my thumb and one-hand typing is still comfortable. Although, I still believe that the 5s/SE was the perfect size for a compact phone. I would love for Apple to offer that form-factor again. As for the battery life on the 12 Mini, I always carry around an external battery and a fast charger, anyway.
Okay, so how many of you observed the background!? Everything's tiny here( tiny android model, tiny airpods etc) all these are wayy bigger on the 12 pro max video! Attention to detail level : MKBHD 💯
I have had my 2016 SE for over 4 years and just upgrading to a 12 mini now - I wanted as small an iPhone as possible - they are usually far too big for me - women DO want small phones
I went from the X to the 12, and am overall satisfied. But if they keep up with the "mini" models, and find a way to improve the battery a little bit, I might switch to that going forward, it just seems like the perfect size
Love all the Easter eggs in the background of both videos, small things in the mini review (boosted board, plant, air pods, tiny android figure and note pad) the intro was also beautiful
It’s refreshing using a more compact phone. If I really need to do anything that requires a bigger screen. Then u use a tablet laptop iPad or so. There really isn’t a need for overly bulky large phones.
Love how the background changed, from the Boosted to the Boosted Mini, from the massive airpods pro to regular, from massive android to mini android haha
Just got a refurbished 12mini I had a pro max which became a nuisance to carry around. After a week of using the mini I am absolutely loving the mini & its weight.
size does matter, you should get a phone thats the perfect size for you (for example, the 12 mini is too small for me, the pro max is too big for me, but the pro is the perfect size for me)
i think this would be perfect if you already have an ipad (for watching videos or consuming media at home) and you also want the portability, ecosystem and cameras that the iphone mini offers… perfect combo in my opinion
I miss when back in the day, the phones got thinner and smaller. We are surrounded by screens as it is. Most of us have access to a tablet or laptop at home, work or in our every-day carry. I hope the iPhone mini does really well so we can see this as a return to the trend to make phones small again. I also theorize, smaller phones are less likely to be dropped than bigger phones.
@@blackmercury956 haha yeah. As do I. I still don’t need a big phone. Never had issues with my old BlackBerry or Motorola phones in their small form factors. I was merely suggesting including a flagship phone in a small form factor is a great idea.

the battery **essentially** sucks
Did the battery degrade? What happened?
ahh yes, the phone that introduced the notch that apple still uses for the 4th phone in a row
One of the things you could’ve added, is that for anyone who is coming from an iPhone 8 or older, the 12 Mini is going to be a great option
Thank you
For some reason I feel uncomfortable with big screens
This is the perfect iphone I have been waiting for
Same. And coming from the original SE this thing’s screen *still* feels too big for me. 😅
So for me it’s not perfect, but it’s probably the best compromise I can get.
I remember when minis were the go to counterpart to its flagship brother back in like 2014. It’s awesome.
Fun fact: The first “Mini” Phone by Apple has almost the exact same dimensions as the last “Mini” phone by Samsung.
If it drops in price enough in the future I’ll definitely consider this version because although big screens are nice this phone’s design and how compact it is makes it so nice
This has been the phone I have been waiting for since the X came out 4 years ago.
Are you going to buy it?
Not worth the price
Battery is terrible screen is too small to type on and for 100 more the twelve is way better
@@aaronthomas89 some people are coming from iPhone 6,7 and 8s that don’t have a problem with the size so that’s why it’s good

The size of the 12 mini was the main reason I went with it. I have tiny hands and chronic pain, using a standard sized phone these days is difficult. I switched from a Huawei P20 Pro, and that was really difficult for me to use comfortably.
hello! you probably don't remember commenting this, but I have the same Huawei you used to have - but the mate model, and was wondering what the battery is like in comparison? Huawei phones have great batteries so I'm not sure if switching to the 12 mini will be too far of a jump.

I’ve been using the iPhone mini, and I enjoy everything about it! I went from the X to the 12 mini... the battery is better than the X, but not as good as the 11.... for me the battery is plenty good. I appreciate that Apple made as really good phone in smaller size 😁
Thank you for this! I have an iPhone X and an thinking of upgrading to the iPhone 12 mini as well!
I have a x considering a 12 mini in 2022. Do you have any regrets of the 12 mini?
@@venkatramans8599 zero regrets on the mini, but I really wanted the smallest iPhone in the market. For my use, the battery and camera features are just about perfect. Woow, we're at Iphone 12 already. I still remember the times Iphone 6 was hyped with videos all over the internet because they broke like glass
Remember they skipped 9

Love the boosted mini in the background of this review whereas the Pro Max review had the full boosted/V2 board.
And small vs big android on the table :)
I changed from iPhone 11 to iPhone 12 mini white and I love it.
Love the design and small size. Looking forward to future generations. Adding the mini to the iphone lineup was a smart move for apple.
Phones are getting so big now it's nice to see a change to where they're releasing smaller ones. 😅
Okay, so how many of you observed the background!? Everything's tiny here( tiny android model, tiny airpods etc) all these are wayy bigger on the 12 pro max video! Attention to detail level : MKBHD 💯
I’ve had the 12 mini and it is perfect for a 12 year old who doesn’t use the phone too much. It’s been 1 year
Still using the iPhone SE first generation [2016] and love it.
Kind of unrelated...

Me too
I have had my 2016 SE for over 4 years and just upgrading to a 12 mini now - I wanted as small an iPhone as possible - they are usually far too big for me - women DO want small phones
For big hands like mine, its a torture using SE. I recently changed to Pro Max size lol.

Honestly, the mini feels more like an iPhone than any iPhone since the 5/5S. Somebody agree with me please
As far as I am concerned this is the first iPhone being released since SE. The real SE not the recent impostor...

It’s refreshing using a more compact phone. If I really need to do anything that requires a bigger screen. Then u use a tablet laptop iPad or so. There really isn’t a need for overly bulky large phones.

I really dont like that idea. U see i have pretty big hands you know. I can't ise a phone that's smaller then my thumb xd
