Hello there. As they expand their library of streaming content, Disney has been absolutely churning out streaming shows tied to some of those most popular characters and franchises. After series like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the House of Mouse has now released a show about who is arguably one of the most well-known Star Wars characters- Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Obi-Wan Kenobi raises a lot of questions though. Like how did Obi-Wan intend to protect Luke without keeping up his training in any way? How did Reva know that the powerful Bail Organa would reach out to Obi-Wan instead of his network of people? How is killing a bunch of Jedi a good way to get revenge on the guy who killed a bunch of Jedi? What was up with that weird laser fence scene? How did making a fire help Obi-Wan escape from Vader, who had just started a fire of his own? Why would Obi-Wan leave Darth Vader alive?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Obi-Wan Kenobi! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

@@johnshea7871 They'll make an episode 4-6 Remaster like Lucas did. But this time Han will shoot first to appease fans. But other that there'll be some minor tweaks that remove any sense of continuity of storytelling and just be lots of unconnected action scenes where long dead actors disturbingly rigid CGI faces turn up, say "Hi, I'm and " before disappearing and having absolutely nothing else to do with the rest of the 'story', sorry, bad habit... 'unconnected action scenes'.
It'll finish with the remodelled death star that now for some reason has 2 additional slightly smaller spheres evenly spaced on top. The rebels will fail to destroy it and realise that actually life is great under their oppressive overlords and they should just learn to live with it and appreciate the friends they made a long the way.

The writers could have at least _tried_ to make up a reason why Obi Wan would walk away the _second_ time after not finishing off Anakin. He gets the premonition that Luke is in danger and has to run, the Emperor shows up to save Vader, he remembers he left the oven on... literally ANYTHING other than, "Welp, I guess I learned nothing from what happened last time. Another one is Darth Vader not extinguishing the fire the 2nd time, letting Obi Wan escape. The show literally showed Vader extinguishing the flame just seconds ago, so why can he suddenly not be able to? 18-20 year old Padawan Obi-Wan on Mandalore having a romance with royalty sounds like fun.
So who are you going to cast as Obi-Wan? Because Ewan McGregor is too old, and the CGI make-up is too expensive for a main character in a tv show.

The "who suddenly teleported to the end of this tunnel" bit, holy shit did that drive me nuts when I was watching the show I'm glad you called it out lmao. Suuuuch a bullshit cliche that bad guys can always magically teleport to the other end of whatever path you're using to escape! >_< These writers took it to a particular extreme, too.

Don't forget she pulls that same bullshit in episode 6. Suddenly teleported to Tatooine after being fatally stabbed by Vader. Apparently that was barely an inconvenience though!

Yea I was like how tf and even if you got to the end wouldn't she have to sneak by Leia to get to the end of be super fast and know exactly where the tunnel is going to lead.

I think it's pretty obvious what happened in those instances; her unique force ability is teleportation. there, plot-hole solved.

The only way I could save it is that Reva worked out where the tunnel was headed and went back over ground. But yeah - annoyed the heck out of me. It seems to be that consistent distances and travel appear to be a modern writing major inconvenience so they just don't bother. Looking at you GoT, Witcher, Expanse, MCU, Stars Wars etc etc.

Remember that in the last star wars movie, they showed us that force can be used to teleport things...God I hate Star wars now :(
