    Can we also note how the romance between Mia and Lily’s brother felt forced. It was giving second choice, and “I like you, not because anything about you appeals me but because you’re nice and my first choice has lost his appeal.” Thank God for Chris Pine in the second movie❤

      I agree he was treated like a second choice. Michael liked her from the start and was incredibly sweet and genuine. He deserved better

      I love how it was in the books. She had a crush on Michael forever. But she got caught up in Josh for a little while. She didn't know Michael liked her as much as she liked him. The books are always so much better 😭

      Michael and and Mia had a beautiful relationship in the books and was a huge part of the series as well. It was very much a friends to lovers relationship, with a lot of slow-burn aspects to it as well. They even get married. Hopefully they bring this couple back if they make a third film. ❤

    Lily was being a hater. Unfortunately, she was insecure and she was scared that Mia would leave her. She has always seen her greatness. She admitted that she was envious, however she was going to far by putting her down and trying to stop her. I’m glad that she checked herself and that she didn’t repeat it. This is growth .❤

      For sure! Self-reflection is always the most important thing and I think if you're genuinely able to see your faults and then change, most things should be forgivable

    I used to have a friend like Lily. My family had money but we always tried to be humble about it and made sure they raised me to appreciate what I had. My former friend used to make fun of me for having a nice handbag or certain types of shoes (all of which were things I either saved up money myself to buy, hand-me-downs from my parents, or Christmas or birthday gifts; my parents didn’t just buy me whatever I wanted).

    • @movie.notepad
      @movie.notepad  Рік тому +20

      I'm sorry you had to deal with that. People can have nice things and still be humble and hard-working. Others just overlook that because they're jealous. Also, privilege is relative so while they were looking at you in envy, many people could probably only wish to have what they had. Goes to show that people shouldn't judge so easily.

      You see that's the thing even if your parents did buy it for you and? That just shows she was never a friend. Because a good friend doesn't care and will just be happy for you😊

    It was me actually seeing this movie that made me realize my high school bff was toxic af and I stopped being her friend. Soooo many people pointed it out but I always brushed it off until I saw Lilly acting the same way my friend did.

    i had a friend like lily. my father recently passed 3 years ago, and during the time i had just lost him when i was unmotivated to do anything / hang out, to just simply GRIEVE, i was told i was “a burden”, and “always so tired all the time”, and how i never wanted to talk about anything happy. it was just “me, me, me” with him. more things lead up to the death of our near decade long friendship, but the main thing that broke my heart was how cold he was when he gave up on me when i needed him the most. i’ll never forget that feeling. it’s made me close off a lot when it comes to talking about something as serious as losing someone.

      This! I used to see the Princess Diaries books back in my old school's library, and someone was venting over how the books are better because Mia and Lily's friendship was "more better or realistic" or something, and I just side-eyed. Lily, up until the final moments of the first movie, was a pretty annoying friend, but the books made me outright hate her and question how on earth did their friendship even last that long.

    Honestly, Lilly is way more insufferable in the books than in the movie. For Lilly to admit to her insecurities in the movie is huge. Even when she resolves her feuds with Mia in the books, she never takes a lot of personal accountability for anything. But even with that said, she's still pretty horrible in the movie.

    Great video I'm definitely liking subscribing and hitting the Bell The Princess Diaries is definitely a Charming movie that's the only word I can use to describe it it's so simple yet you can't help but like it like What a Girl Wants with Amanda Bynes and Ian was a little toxic when she was trying to please her father instead of being supportive of her he yells at her showing that he Lacks the emotional maturity to be there for her and I'm glad that the people who made the movie were aware of Lily's toxicity which is why she apologized took accountability and became a better friend in the sequel it's a shame that Nicholas was a bit toxic too and so is Mia a little bit all she does is yell at him accuse him and stomp on his foot I just love how in the 2020s we are so much more aware of toxicity from the movies and shows we love The Princess Diaries movies are still great movies but now we know that they are unintentional cautionary tales and I think that's awesome

    Here's the thing, she doesn't really properly apologize. Yes, she reconciled with Mia but she mostly deflects her behavior off on being jealous and being a angry person. Those definitely might be the reason why she's acting this way. But, Mia (and Josh, too, in a way) points out that this has been a long-standing issue with Lilly. We don't really see her correct her behavior. Thankfully, she's a lot better in the second film. But still, Lilly was horrible to everyone for a long time, and that behavior doesn't just go away.

    All Smiles because her best friend wasn't leaving her behind/ she wasn't loosing her besty as she had previously feared and who wouldn't smile at the footnote of the perk's her good carma brought her for being such a good person and U'r right attacking isn't the way to change hearts 💖& minds so don't attack her true friend because her fear made her temerally insane which she apologized for whole heatedly she says Sorry, to Mia for tagging on her looks because she got jealous her friend suddenly had the money to give her the makeover and fashion since / AKA someone noticed the potential that she couldn't see, and I firmly Believe the world's of SSSniperwold "No one is ugly" I'll put my own words in direct quote from Me S.C.B. "Everyone is uniquely beautiful in their own way even Mia previous look from before was someone else's"Cup of Tea" Remember they say Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder so to speak & the rest of SSSniperwolf's comment was "They just don't know how to do their Makeup" or I'll amend her statement by saying "a person may not have the vision to do their own makeup " Love& Live, & have Confidence in U'rself don't Ever let anyone tell U that U R or allow them to make U feel Ugly!;;;!! I simply meant to show you how U Misinterpreted that moment in the scene with proof from later scenes and acknowledge some key points U where right on to tell you my thoughts 💬 & how I felt about how heartbreaking 💔💔 it was to Me that U saw it that way.
    And to, simply say that Mia is A Dinosaur in the ruff so is her friend's & that Lilly was a psychologically misunderstood as she was lost in fear, jealousy, & reading the situation going on with her friend caused her to act out irationally to where she had paranoid delusions in which she had imagined stereotypical senecios& & how her smile was a relief that her friend with her new look hadn't lost sight of who she is _& is still the girl she's always been still her friend not 🚫 moving on to be in a popular click & phasing her out AKA Not 🚫❌ loosing her best friend reassurance just because she's changed on the outside she still who she always was on the insides!!!!!
