She also had a custom made dress for her waiting in case the occasion arised because again she didn’t want to give it to her out of charity. She just made it seem like a happy accident. And she never made a big deal about her friendship to her she would just treat her like her sister and treat her exactly how she knew she needed not how she wanted. That’s an amazing friend.
Their friendship is so balanced. Tiana is a dreamer, but she's practical, intelligent and hard-working, Charlotte also has a dream, but a more childish one, which goes with her hyper and pompous attitude of a spoiled little girl with a kind heart. I love them both.
I agree completely! Charlotte could have easily been made a spoiled rich girl who only cares about herself. Instead, she has a good life, family, friends, and a heart of gold. Tiana is realistic, as opposed to the stereotypical "oh my gosh look at that handsome dude that I don't know but want to marry." I think these factors are what made this one of Disney's best movies ever.
I mean, I can totally see Charlotte THROWING money to get Tiana her restaurant if she'd known about it, and then being confused but helpful if/when it was refused
I love how she doesn't even hesitate to leave Naveen the moment she sees that Tiana needs her. She's definitely spoiled, but she's the sweetest and truest friend in that world.
Disney finally broke the prejudice that if "you're white and rich in a movie that has a black character as the main character, then you're a bully and racist"
Charlotte's kindness, despite being spoiled, was due to her kind-hearted father. Her wealthy father treats both tia and her mother kindly. He patronizes the work of tia's mother and even would go to the non-expensive diner, where Tia works, to enjoy begniets. He does not label rich from poor, thus charlotte grew up not labelling social statuses too.
haha, just like my mother. she's a politician, but we grew up in a quite open community where big or rich houses are rare. i grew up with friends who enjoys life with no exquisite and expensive things, i enjoyed that too.
i come from a very sophisticated and wealthy family in my moms side but the "boss" of the family, my great grandpa, didnt care if he had a house like a palace or what, he doesnt even want to let people know hes wealthy and i admire him a lot unfortunately my mom is just flexing a lot because of having a grandfather of nobility (yes, but his rank? isnt that high) but i only talk about my family if its relevant and i still end up having no friends but anywaysp

I freakin love Lottie, not only did the prince fall in love with her friend, the same prince she’s been waiting for her her entire life, she was fully supportive of them. Now THAT is a good friend right there
Ikr? This is what I love about Charlotte even if she and Tiana have different lives she's the most sweetest, generous and a really great friend eventhough she was spoiled alot she has a kind heart. She's like that one bestie who would take care of everything and most importantly making sure that everyone including you would have a good time she going like "Dw suga I got that covered" my heart melted when Tiana got her costume messed up and Charlotte helped her find a dress that fits her and I agree that both of them are not only beautiful in their own way they have a great friendship
what i love about her is that shes the typical spoiled, hyper-feminine, pink wearing, blue eyed blondie but shes the sweetest ever. They didnt make her mean or bratty or selfish like a lot of movies do with these kind of girls.
I love how Charlotte was portrayed in this movie. She isn't some stereotypical, bratty rich girl. Rather than getting angry at Tia for the mess, she tried to help her, and even gave her a dazzling dress to wear that night. She's hands down one of my favorite Disney characters.
True, but that was back in the 90s. They let a lot more through back then that would not fly today. Also the gargoyles kinda ruined the vibe. Would have been better without and allowed to be marketed to a slightly older audience...
You know, Charlotte really did well at rejecting that one guy Travis at her house's ball: she was firm and honest about not wanting to dance with him, but still tried to build him up a little confidence saying "Now run along, there are plenty of fillies dying for you to waltz them into a stupor"
can we talk about how her voice actress did such a great job with her character? the way her voice was so bubbly and "cartoonish" but at the same time also realistic was just 👌. i swear i can't think of another voice for lottie, she was so amazing! i can tell she really had fun voicing her
"Daddy Daddy look my new dress!!! Is it pretty???" Omg. Her tone, her confidency, her bubbly happy nature when she showed her father the dress!! The father did a very nice job of raising her despite being a rich man and a single parent who is actually pretty busy.
When Tiana was upset about her restaurant, what I love about Lottie is that she didn’t push her to talk. She knew Tiana didn’t want to, and she knew her limits. She treated her the same she usually does and didn’t change just to make Tiana feel better, and she trusted her to be alone in her room and take her time. I’m a sucker for these little things!
I didn’t even think of it this way, I just thought she didn’t notice because she was so excited about the Prince and kept talking instead - your explanation makes more sense
@@zorrononoa277 Yeah. you can hear that her voice is more gentle when she talked directly to Tiana. It shows she cares and is like telling Tia that she'll be there when she's ready to talk. Hell, she LEFT A PRINCE to help her friend get cleaned up. WITHOUT HESITATION. She prioritized Tia, she didn't even react to the ruined stall and food. It's the sweetest thing and really shows their friendship dynamic so well.
I love how Charlotte didn’t get mad about the beignets being ruined. She was only concerned about Tiana. A stereotype would’ve yelled at Tiana for the ruined “man-catchin’ beignets,” but Charlotte instead helped her up, doted on her, and gave her a beautiful dress to help her shine. What a good friend.
My money’s on Lottie having that dress made for Tiana AGES ago, but Lottie was saving it for the perfect occasion (like finally earning the money for a down payment on her dream restaurant, or the opening dinner of said dream restaurant).
Wish we could be more characters like Charlotte. The fact that she actually offered Tiana to pay for her restaurant yet respected Tiana's refusal on the offer was really great.
@@khaotictrash I mean, she wanted to earn the money rather than just getting it, and what better way to earn money than to make hundreds of desserts for your rich friend?
I always assosiate the stereotype in movies with the typical high school bullies. I mean that is very common thing in tv series. I think its more because its so easy to write and kinda interesting to some people i think. But the typical blonde leader mean stereotype
Originally, Charlotte was supposed to be an antagonist of the film as in the original script, Tiana would’ve been a maid working for her and she would’ve been a spoiled brat to her. This was later scrapped.
When Charlotte tells Tia "Tonight they're finally coming true.", when talking about their childhood dreams, I love that part because Charlotte's not just thinking about her own dream of marrying a prince, she's thinking of Tiana's dream of opening a restaurant too. Charlotte didn't care about Tiana's race or social status, and she, while being rich, never looked down on anyone else because of it. She's a sweetheart.
I’m glad she’s a spoiled rich girl, but isn’t a stereotipical meanie who thinks she’s better than anyone. I also love how she’s energic and optimistic with a bit of dummy.
And given that she and her father were living during a time of Jim Crow laws, the fact she's so kind and compassionate towards Tiana and her family speaks volume for her character.
Lottie is the definition of "spoiled sweet". Sure she's materialistic and kinda detached from the reality of others without her priviledge, but she's infinitely kind, compassionate and generous with what she has.
Yeah! While she wears only pink and red dresses, she had a very special blue dress just for Tia. I love her friendship with Tiana and doesn’t ever treat her like dirt
that being said, they kinda glossed over how shallow she was. They swung extremely heavily into it! It's like "sure I'll kiss you to save you and my friend and give her all the money for her restaurant, and you're clearly deeply in love with her. As long as I get to be a princess". I mean, yeah, after that she was touched by their confessions and wanted to do it anyways with no T&C. But still... If Tiana is a true friend, she needs to talk to Charlotte about having some standards for herself.
@@Jane-ow7sr Adventures of Charlotte and "Ahm... Junior. I'mma call you Junior for now." Like, she using her money to travel around the world and learn something new and he acompains her; meeting the king and queen, visiting Tiana's Place, getting lost in the swamp, deal with some business thing for her father: so many possibilities!!!!
Hmmm yeah that would be a "want Vs need" story. Her want would be I want to marry a prince and her need would be to live a fairytale, an adventure, to find love etc. Charlotte is a bit too much, but it works great as a side character.. a movie about her though could be... challenging xD
I personally love the theory that Lottie had that dress made specifically for Tiana. Never mind the fact that Lottie exclusively wears pink, but due to the fact that the dress is a perfect fit for Tiana, in spite of their differing heights and body shapes, that tells that it isn't some dress she had just lying around.
She even kissed Naveen to make him human again, offered Tiana to pay for her restaurant and respected Tiana's decision to refuse her payment... A bit unrelatable but still shows how great Lottie's character is
She really was one of the best disney characters ever just like tiana! She was spoiled to the bone, obsessed by becoming a princess but still had a good heart... you dont see that in disney often enough!
Originally, Charlotte was supposed to be an antagonist of the film as in the original script, Tiana would’ve been a maid working for her and she would’ve been a spoiled brat to her. This was later scrapped.
One of the most underrated Disney Supporting characters for sure. Loud, energetic, chaotic, spoiled.... yet a true friend to Tisna, never looking down at her, but honestly happy for her when Tiana found what she was looking for her entire life. 💖💖💖
Originally, Charlotte was supposed to be an antagonist of the film as in the original script, Tiana would’ve been a maid working for her and she would’ve been a spoiled brat to her. This was later scrapped.
I do like what they did with Charlotte in this movie. She's a ditzy airhead and very much a product of her time and upbringing, but at the same time, she's not mean or spiteful. She's a good friend to Tiana which, given that this is set in the 1920's, their relationship would've been considered incredibly taboo. Even when it's revealed that Tiana is the one meant to be Naveen's princess, Lottie doesn't hate her for it, or think she 'stole her crown'. She supports Tiana every step of the way. A great buddy character overall.
I really like the way that Charlotte didn't just give Tiana the money for her restaurant, even though she could have afforded it, because she knew that Tiana probably wouldn't accept it. Instead she respects her wishes enough to hire her to cook for her party and pays her a fair wage for it so that Tiana can get her restaurant through her own efforts, the way she wants to. Charlotte is such a good friend
Yet. She gives him up for the sake of Tiana showing what little stakes Tiana has in the film. Since the movie goes out of it’s way to establish them as good friends . It erases any stake Tiana would have.
@@philipmarable8698 not really :/ Depends on how supportive this bestfriend is to you really. Personally: most of my friends are generally sweet and supportive, but there is a common theme of "I need to approve of the ppl you date, and they must treat me better than you or you can't date them".
Charlotte is an underrated Queen. Yes she’s spoiled but she offered to buy the restaurant for Tiana (and respected Tiana’s refusal of the proposition), kissed a frog for her best friend, and helped Tiana change out of her outfit at the masquerade ball. We need more Lottie’s in the world.
It definitely breaks the spoiled rich mean girl stereotype for sure, I’m glad Disney chose to do that for her character, it’s rare to see that in movies and shows.
Originally, Charlotte was supposed to be an antagonist of the film as in the original script, Tiana would’ve been a maid working for her and she would’ve been a spoiled brat to her. This was later scrapped.
Alma Chroma yeah but she knew what Tiana wanted and with all that riches she left Tiana work her ass of for the restaurant and never gave her a penny... Until the end when Naveen told her to do so
WereKingWolf, That's what I thought too. Tiana takes hard work so seriiously, "taking the easy way" (b.t.w., that's a quote from the actual film; she literally said that to her mum) would be going against her own principles. An' Charlotte's a true friend, finding a compromise where she helps her best pal & hopefully gets the guy of her dreams at the same time. Those 2 really are a BRILLIANTLY written duo (the number of scenes about them is perfect too; not too little & not too much).
"I'll kiss him for you honey no marriage required" my respect for her just keeps growing, Lottie gave up being a PRINCESS for that Tiana can be with the person she loves now that's true friendship
A detail that almost no one saw, but usually Lottie only wears pink... However, she strangely had a blue dress.... This dress was made to be a possible gift for Tiana, or for her to wear someday, but Tiana rarely goes out, except to work.
I love her personality, she is outgoing and pampered but not to the point of being unbearable (it usually happens to me but because I am an introvert😅), i love the enthusiasm she has when she speaks but without being self-centered, because she also listens; She's one of those people that you take to a party and they DO the party, it's cool😆
You know what I just noticed? Lottie gives Tiana a blue dress, Lotties wardrobe is very dominant with pink, so that means Lottie had it made for Tiana ( I think ) If that is the case, it really adds more to her character, she’s a wonderful friend in general and we need more people like her in the world
Real moment for a second: Charlotte is a really good friend. It would have been SO easy for her to fall into the rich daddy's girl stereotype of looking down on everybody and only thinking about herself (especially in that era), but she didn't. Her best friend was of another race and of a different social class, but that never had an effect on how much Tiana mattered to Charlotte. Then at the end of the movie, she helped Tiana and Naveen without getting his hand in return because she saw how much they loved each other. True friend material right there.
I think what helped is that she grew up with Tiana's family and her dad was also very welcoming of them too. All is takes is to be around different people in order to see different views.
And in the scene at the Diner, I have a theory that Charolette planned and wanted to give Tiana money for her restaurant, but she knew that Tiana wouldn’t accept it because of how humble she is. Charolette knew that the only way Tiana would accept the money if Tiana felt like she earned it. So she made an excuse to pay Tiana with the Beignets😊 (Hope that made sense. I’m bad at explaining lol)
I love how disney made charlotte as a non-racist type of spoiled rich girl, she really is my favourite character in the movie. She maybe spoiled but very nice! She and Tiana, have been there for eachother for many years- and I love that kind of friendship! there should a tv series about the story too
@@KL-ki8db Exactly! Charlotte is literally a sea of pink the entire movie, but just happens to have a singular blue dress that is exactly tailored to fit on Tiana perfectly. She most definitely had that prepared.
When I rewatched The Princess and the Frog on Disney+ last week, I never realized how beautiful Tiana was until now. She was so beautiful in that blue dress.
I love how even though "meeting prince naveen and getting him to marry" her is the most important thing to lottie, as SOON as she sees her best friend needed help, she'll drop everything to help her
Thinking back, I guess this is why I loved this Disney movie. Tia is the protagonist that represents how women can pursue dreams and work hard, be independent...but at the same time they never took away from Charlotte's character - a girly girl who is into romance and fairy tales and dreams of finding her prince charming. One girl can shine without having to put the other character down. I realized how problematic older movies that pitted girly girls with "not like other girls" girls were.
To think that in the original script, Charlotte was supposed to be the stereotypical spoiled rich white girl who will antagonize Tiana for the prince. Disney deciding to scrap the tired old cliche and choosing to make Charlotte a wholesome, positive and yet still complete opposite of Tiana is one of the greatest inversions I have seen.
i love how everyone in the comments collectively agrees how amazing of a character lottie is and how much she’s helped Tina throughout her life including giving away Naveen and still willing to support her
I love the point that no one is being toxic. Usually to make a story more interesting, people put dramas in the story line, but this one managed to make every character lovely and fascinating at the same time.
You clearly only saw what you wanted to see, because there was a whole point about Dr. Facilier trying to murder Big Daddy and sacrifice the souls of everyone in New Orleans to Vodou Gods. That's pretty toxic.
@@야볼펜나와-t4d ...i mean dr. Facilier is like one of the classic disney villain. I love her spoiled, yet kind demeanor. She knows that she'll never have Naveen as her husband, but she's supportive of his and Tiana's relationship nonetheless and does what she can to help them out when the situation demands it. I also love how she could have fired Tiana for messing up the party, but she went out of her way to comfort Tiana and give her a set of clothes to replace the ones she came in. Plus, her line to Travis is priceless!
I just love the fact that Lottie never hated Tia for falling in love with Naveen, she accepted it right away…and even tried to help them break the curse. Not only that but supported her throughout their wedding and even the restaurant
@@antithoughtpolice7497 No, she wants to be with a Prince because he’s a Prince. She doesn’t actually LOVE him - she loves his title. That’s what I got.

And it's not like she would be bratty towards the princes either.
I love how even if Charlotte’s main goal is to spend time with Prince Naveen and eventually marry him, when Tia’s on the ground covered in food, she takes the time to care for her friend 🥺 not even THE prince Naveen is more important than her friendship ❤️
The fact that many people’s childhoods are becoming even better because they watched this and realized how much of a sweetheart Lottie was.She is such an icon and one of the best side characters we could’ve wished for.Especially for being a rich and spoiled she is a real sweetheart
She's sweet spoiled. This is because she has a kind hearted father . The man is rich but he goes to tiana's restaurant and he doesn't treat tiana's mom like a servant making his daughter dresses but a respectabls seamstress
2:40 that moment. That moment made me see that Lottie is such a sweet and caring girl. Instead of being angry at Tia for not having the beignets ready, she’s more concerned that her best friend was hurt and offered her a new costume to wear.
Because she didn't care about the beignets in the first place. She just wanted an excuse to help her friend achieve her goal, because if she handed Tiana the money straight up she knew Tiana wouldn't take it.
I love the scene too but I think this is being misunderstood a bit lol. She says something along the lines of "There are plenty of young phillies dying for you to waltz them into a stupor." That translates as "I'm sure there are plenty of young ladies out there looking for a man that can't wait for you to bore them to sleep with your dancing." So this comes off as her throwing some sarcasm at him so he can take the hint he failed to grasp before, "later means never." She has her eyes set higher on the prince & doesn't want to be dragging this poor guy along giving him the impression he might have a chance when in reality he doesn't. IMO being a little harsh with him so he doesn't continue wasting his time or energy is a good thing. If she was the type to just string hopeful guys around that'd be really cruel so I like it. All just my opinion though lol
@@BiblicallyAccurateToaster i read "dying for you to waltz them into a stupor" more as "dancing with you makes them so happy they lose their train of thought and become unable to react to anything else" since one of the definitions of stupor is to be in a trance which just goes to show how different people interpret the same things differently and without the knowledge of what the speaker truely ment theres no right or wrong way to see things
@@BiblicallyAccurateToaster : stupor doesnt just mean that though. She means ‘dance them into a daze’ which could be positive. Considering her tone and facial language, i’d say positive.
"Travis. When a woman says 'later,' she really means 'not ever.' Now run along! There are plenty a young fillies dying for you to waltz them into a stupor." My favorite character trait of hers is that she's so supportive. Not just towards Tiana, but in general. Notice how she let him down gently. She's basically saying "Many girls are more than willing to dance with you. I'm just not one of them. Now put yourself out there, what're you waiting for?!"
I love how she rejects that one guy who wanted to dance with her. She doesn't say he's not worth dancing with and instead tells him that there are plenty of other people who would love to dance with him (just not her).
A realistic woman tries her hardest to get the money for a restaurant her and her deceased father wanted. Her best friend is spoiled rich but has a heart of gold. I love her! She thinks of herself but also thinks about the people close to her too. You could of easily made her another villain, but instead they did give her a good heart. All it took was to see Tiana and Naveen in love and she was ready to let Tiana be happy.

It would have been far too easy to make Lottie a possessive villain in this movie, and I thoroughly expected it in my first viewing, but I was so pleasantly surprised by how sweet and understanding she was, especially in the end. Can we all appreciate that, the second Charlotte thinks Tiana needs her, she walks away from her prince without even thinking twice? And she does it multiple times, too. She is not and never was selfish; just spoiled. There is a deeply, *deeply* good person beneath all of her father's failures as a parent.
What do you mean her father’s *failures* as a parent? He must’ve been a good parent in order for her to have such a kind-hearted spirit. He did spoil her, yes, but Charlotte turned out great instead of the stereotypical rich girl that thinks that she’s better than everyone else, and why’s that? It’s cuz of her upbringing, which involves her Father.
I do agree on almost everything Alyssa said but her father didn't seem like a bad parent at all to me. He spoiled her but still managed to raise her into the amazing person that she is so. 😄
Her father loved her unconditionally and I think he gave her everything she wanted as a result. I don't think she has a mom since that was never mentioned so maybe he overcompensated for that. Whatever it was, he did spoil her, but that doesn't mean that he was a bad father. Especially in the 1920s, like most of the comments in the comment section have stated previously, her father raised Lottie to respect everyone regardless or race or social status which I think greatly makes up for spoiling his daughter as she uses the riches her family has to help others most of the time. There's not doubt that Lottie would have given Tiana all the money she needed for her restaurant as she practically flung money at her for the party food, but she knew that Tiana was determined to get the money by herself so she didn't push. But I do agree with the rest of your comment, I just don't think her dad was a bad father for spoiling her a little too much since he also made her into the caring person she is
I love how Charlotte is so different from the usual "rich white girl" stereotype.

Charlotte isn’t the stereotype blondie, rich like Draco Malfoy, and showboating like Flash.
Charlotte's kindness, despite being spoiled, was due to her kind-hearted father. Her wealthy father treats both tia and her mother kindly. He does not label rich from poor, thus charlotte grew up not labelling social statuses too.

WereKingWolf,
That's what I thought too.
WereKingWolf And Charlotte happily PAID Tiana for her skills, instead of asking for it as a favour.

I think charlotte is a good example of having money But in the right way attitude
This is the most energetic character I've ever seen
I love her personality, she is outgoing and pampered but not to the point of being unbearable (it usually happens to me but because I am an introvert😅), i love the enthusiasm she has when she speaks but without being self-centered, because she also listens; She's one of those people that you take to a party and they DO the party, it's cool😆
wow
The villain in cats don’t dance
You know what I just noticed? Lottie gives Tiana a blue dress, Lotties wardrobe is very dominant with pink, so that means Lottie had it made for Tiana ( I think )
If that is the case, it really adds more to her character, she’s a wonderful friend in general and we need more people like her in the world
i love pink and purple but have many other colors as well in my wardrobe. orange is underrated.
She’s based of Marilyn Monroe. Now that I think about it, the way she treats Tiana kinda correlates with Marilyns friendship with Ella Fitzgerald.
She is serious close friend material she is so sweet :)
So she made an excuse to pay Tiana with the Beignets😊

And put her in a beautiful dress with a bigger crown. Really was a great friendship.
AND when she learned that said prince fell in love with her best friend instead of her, she was happy for them :,)
Thinking back, I guess this is why I loved this Disney movie.

@@miat32 Same, I only know the french dub, I'm discovering the eng version, it's a blessing
It’s because she never actually loved him. She wanted to increase her status and wealth.
@@jikookietings2507 No, she's rich already. She wants to love a prince, but wants her prince to love her, too. Simple.
@@jikookietings2507 I never got that impression
@@antithoughtpolice7497 No, she wants to be with a Prince because he’s a Prince. She doesn’t actually LOVE him - she loves his title. That’s what I got.
@@jikookietings2507 She wants a title, but so what? If Naveen was horrible, she would of walked away. Naveen is a great guy, and fake Naveen was only a tad weird. And this was the 20s, marriage was how most women got social security, so if she has to rely on marriage for that, she might as well go for the gold!

I knooooow 😭 I love this part
So adorable
Yep. As much as she's excited over the prince, she stopped and helped Tiana.
something that I've noticed is that Charlotte is rarely still, she's always moving. I love how energetic she is.
!!
2:40 that moment. That moment made me see that Lottie is such a sweet and caring girl. Instead of being angry at Tia for not having the beignets ready, she’s more concerned that her best friend was hurt and offered her a new costume to wear.
The scene at 3:35 was very funny when not only one frog, but TWO frogs started squirming in charlottes shirt lol
Yeah
Because she didn't care about the beignets in the first place.
She just wanted an excuse to help her friend achieve her goal, because if she handed Tiana the money straight up she knew Tiana wouldn't take it.
@@scissor_w_gwen Pretty sure DID wanted to impress the prince as well, but nothing was more important to her than helping Tia when she fell down.
I love how Charlotte turns down Travis. She’s honest with him about her feelings, and she’s stern, but also builds him up a little at the end 👌🏻
And she even tells him that he shouldn't just give up after being turned down, she literally tells him to keep looking for a girl who will accept him.
I love the scene too but I think this is being misunderstood a bit lol. She says something along the lines of "There are plenty of young phillies dying for you to waltz them into a stupor."
That translates as "I'm sure there are plenty of young ladies out there looking for a man that can't wait for you to bore them to sleep with your dancing."
So this comes off as her throwing some sarcasm at him so he can take the hint he failed to grasp before, "later means never." She has her eyes set higher on the prince & doesn't want to be dragging this poor guy along giving him the impression he might have a chance when in reality he doesn't.
IMO being a little harsh with him so he doesn't continue wasting his time or energy is a good thing. If she was the type to just string hopeful guys around that'd be really cruel so I like it.
All just my opinion though lol
@@BiblicallyAccurateToaster And that is an opinion I can respect and understand.
@@BiblicallyAccurateToaster i read "dying for you to waltz them into a stupor" more as "dancing with you makes them so happy they lose their train of thought and become unable to react to anything else" since one of the definitions of stupor is to be in a trance
which just goes to show how different people interpret the same things differently and without the knowledge of what the speaker truely ment theres no right or wrong way to see things
@@BiblicallyAccurateToaster : stupor doesnt just mean that though. She means ‘dance them into a daze’ which could be positive. Considering her tone and facial language, i’d say positive.
"Travis. When a woman says 'later,' she really means 'not ever.' Now run along! There are plenty a young fillies dying for you to waltz them into a stupor."
My favorite character trait of hers is that she's so supportive. Not just towards Tiana, but in general. Notice how she let him down gently. She's basically saying "Many girls are more than willing to dance with you. I'm just not one of them. Now put yourself out there, what're you waiting for?!"
2:39 seeing how her expression turned into a worried one makes me feel so warm because it shows that she really cares about tiana
That's right
They’re BFFs
I love how she rejects that one guy who wanted to dance with her. She doesn't say he's not worth dancing with and instead tells him that there are plenty of other people who would love to dance with him (just not her).

This movie is set in the 1920’s and that’s shortly after women got the right to vote. During the 1920’s women started being more open and liberal, at least for their time. Charolette was probably a flapper, that’s what these women were called back then. You can tell by some of her fashion.

Bcs her friend isn't spoiled too yes.
Charlotte is incredibly kind hearted, loyal, and gracious. Her father clearly taught her that, from what we see of him he's the exact same way.
Mr lebouf loves to humble brag but he sure is generous and treats Tiana's mom like a old friend of his
Yeah, when you think about it, he probably has the money to get beneigts at much more expensive restaurants than the one Tiana works at, but he always goes to where she works because he likes hers best.
He also helped keep Tiana's mom in business.

Another underrated character is her father. He taught her to be kind and treat everyone equally and she became a wonderful girl!
Yup. As much as i hate spoiled kids atleast this parent compensated HEAVILY on values and character and for early 1900s, that was fucking impressive. Both of them are underrated
It would have been far too easy to make Lottie a possessive villain in this movie, and I thoroughly expected it in my first viewing, but I was so pleasantly surprised by how sweet and understanding she was, especially in the end. @@ikimiyu this made me feel unexplainable things because my eyes immediately got drawn to the fact that that comment was 4 years ago. thx for making me remember i guess?
But I do agree with the rest of your comment, I just don't think her dad was a bad father for spoiling her a little too much since he also made her into the caring person she is
I think she was privileged and thus expected finer things in life ...
Everything else is correct but the failure of the father part
I love how Charlotte is so different from the usual "rich white girl" stereotype. Sure she's spoiled and a bit shallow, but she's a genuinely kind and caring friend with a heart of gold (not to mention she DOESN'T treat Tiana like how most black people were treated during the time period).
