      I recently received mine. Are your mains a little loose? If I grab mine by the fly wheels, I can move the cranks shaft up and down a few thousandths or either side. The bottom end of the rod is a nice fit in comparison.

      I have one and the crankshaft is loose, also mine did not come with a muffler. I emailed banggood and they never replied. I also left a bad review which never showed up, then I left a negative comment that never showed up either. I do like the engine though. I don't see the need for tall water hopper though, I can run mine 30 minutes and the water barely gets warm. Also the original engines didn't have weird tall water hoppers.

    I spent part of my growing up years in West Texas around the oil fields and saw many of this type of engine powering oil pumps called "pump jacks". A pump jack is a simple walking beam pump used to lift crude oil up from the depths to the pipeline. The engines made a very distinctive noise when running. You could hear the engine going "chug chug chug " and then going silent and starting up again. I suspect the engine only ran on the lifting part of the pumping cycle.These days I suspect that they have switched over to electric motors.

    • @technikfreak9859
      @technikfreak9859 5 років тому

      That would be quite interesting to see but I think it’s really difficult to build an RC car or similar out of it because there is no way of controlling the speed of the motor on the go ( I think) because the speed is set by the springs and so you need the be very creative with some sort of electric fuel shut off valve so the RC don’t just keeps on driving until you catch it or the fuel runs out.

    • @AnD1262
      @AnD1262 5 років тому

      @@technikfreak9859 There is certain "gearboxes" that can use a one-speed engine but how small they can get is unknown to me. The weights on the engine regulate the speed by pushing that bar on a pivot at 1:50 when they overpower the springs with centrifugal force this takes the cam away from the timing rod on the side of the engine, an electric motor on the bar would be able to slow/stop the engine from running or manually speed it up. still making an RC car out of it while interesting would be a waste of time and effort IMO

    What is the lathe tool attachment your using for drilling the holes that is installed on your tool holder? That’s pretty sick!

    All that aluminium turned away in the Lathe. The wasted metal could've been used to design Cooling Fins into the extension. Then painted Matt Black for best heat dissipation. Just constructive criticism. That engine is extremely well-made. Greetings from Australia.
