  • In this video we figure out one way to make a media stand. We used two sheets of birch plywood and some raw steel hair pin legs. It has sliding doors that use no hardware and has a geometric paint pattern that matches the aesthetic of the room it's going in. It's a simple design but a detailed build description so check it out, let me know your thoughts, and thanks so much for watching.

Try testing your new digital thingy against a speed square or anything that you know is precise, 45° or 60° set squares. I've seen plenty of vids where it's the table saw that's off.

That’s a great idea thank you! I also have a feeling it’s an issue with the saw. I’m assuming in an entry level saw they figured .5 degree margin of error is okay. Which for most things it probably is. Thanks again for the idea.

Would not want to sit an appliance with speakers on that. OK if it's just for storage and the TV, or whatever, is mounted on wall with speakers on floor or wall but any speakers would sound bad on that cabinet

That’s an interesting point and one I haven’t thought much about. Thanks for the input. What about a design like this makes sound not travel well? Something to do with it’s shape or materials? I don’t know much about sound and would love to make improvements on future projects or maybe a smaller platform could be set on top to raise the speakers off the surface of the cabinet. Would this help? I’m definitely open to any advice. Thanks again for the thought.
